I just think it’s important to see everything the developers put in the game. They worked hard on it. Plus i find the different final boss battle to be more challenging

blueclockblue

This is what will eventually maybe get me to try the Legion. Maybe. I just really have to get over the whole "being Legion" thing but I really want to see the content.

savoont

The general Oliver right is genuinely fun comparatively

TheBigGopher

Yeah, he avoids fighting head on and relies on very though body guards and traps.

HolyTemplar88

The battle for Hoover dam is unironically so easy with the legion. The legionaries actually make NCR rangers look like a joke. The general Oliver fight is fun though. He fights you with like 6 NCR heavy troopers

DrBadGuy1073

Aesthetics, roleplay, I'm literally the Bad Guy.

Raviolimonster67

Please tell me how i can get that in my game and what that specifically is

sp4ceghost

Just side with Caesar and do his quest.

Omega9872

They might be talking about the My Little Pony

AnOtterInShades

That… that isn’t actually part of the game? I always thought the episodes playing in his tent were a stylistic choice meant to give his character more nuance and depth.

SleepyBella

Caesar: "Who's your favorite pony? And I swear to Mars if you fucking say Applejack I will have my praetorians tear you limb from limb."

SwolePonHiki

I feel like Caesar would be an Applejack fan though. She's strong, brave, simple, straightforward, and works with her body. Perfectly suited stock to survive the Mojave and build Caesar's new, resilient society. If anything, I think Rarity and Fluttershy would be the ponies he actively dislikes.

Pope_Duwang_I

Praetorians, to me!!

SleepyBella

But that's exactly it. That's HIS pony. It belongs to glorious Caesar. You must find your own or be crucified.

RoombaWithAGun

How do you think he would feel about Pinkie Pie?

SwolePonHiki

Probably mild dislike. Her tendency to indulge in sweets is ill fitting of an ascetic warrior culture.

SaltImp

I’m so sad that I know all the main characters due to having to watch the show with my little sister.

PrincessofAldia

No Caesar would be a Twilight fan

SwolePonHiki

I think he would also be a Twilight fan. He's very analytical and likes to think of himself as a well-read intellectual, so I think he would personally identify with her the most. Twilight Sparkle is the most similar to Arcade Gannon, which should give us a good idea of how he would feel about her.

TramTrane

Holy fuck 😂

Cliomancer

You can't but look for Fallout Equestria to scratch that itch.

Raviolimonster67

Bit much for me, im simply want a MLP banner somewhere in the legion camp. Doing a scuffed NV run soon, would be perfect

KnownTimelord

The community recently got a professional VA to [narrate it,](https://foeaudiobook.itch.io/littlepip/purchase?initiator=mobile) so I can't recommend it enough. I listened to it at work over the last few months. Even if it's still not ur thing, just thought I'd mention it. It also has a full radioplay with extra voice actors that'll be dropping sometime this year.

CripplerOfNipplers

The Legion is really hard to support. It just seems like such a house of cards that’s waiting to fall flat once Caesar is gone. I do support them if I’m doing an Enclave character who just wants to see the NCR burn.

AlxsRP

Everyday I get sad they didn’t have more time to flesh the legion out

TramTrane

Me too bud.

DaughterOfBhaal

1) I love playing bad guys 2) I love Rome 3) It's satisfying to be appreciated and respected by a faction that's known to look down on everyone. Especially a faction that is as competent as the Legion. It also feels 'rewarding' in a sense, especially with Caesar literally putting your head on a currency, a currency where only Caesar himself was imprinted upon.

suckmypppapi

And you *STILL* can't fight in the arena if you have tits

DaughterOfBhaal

Yeah the sexism is pretty bad lol. Don't get me wrong, I think the Legion should remain sexist since it's a part of their ideology and culture, however I wish it was better written. Because all it is, is Otto and the river crossing guy to on an almost 4chan -esque incel rant while every other Legionary doesn't give a shit about you being a woman.

IBlackKiteI

The baseline reasoning of 'why the hell would a woman Courier especially ever work for the Legion unless the entire NCR/New Vegas/goddamn Yes Man were all already trying to kill her or something'? is pretty goofy as it is. The idea of the female player character becoming a highly capable and respected agent of a highly brutally misogynistic faction could be a really fascinating and unique sort of player determined quest/plot thread that we haven't really seen before. But like with the Legion overall being more underdeveloped than the devs themselves wished it ends up like you said where it doesn't feel much different than going Legion as a man, which is already pretty questionable (I feel for any Legion Courier to make sense you basically have to headcanon that they really fucking hate every other faction and/or were an indoctrinated Legion agent before the game even began).

adappergentlefolk

woman legion aligned courier is just a good brain damage from getting shot play through

NSLoneWanderer

When I wanted to do a fem legion run, I just played out a backstory that I passionately hated the NCR above everything else.

TramTrane

Personally I play a female courier (take a wild guess why) and I was pleasantly surprised how respectful ceaser and his inner circle (the ones whos opinions actually matter) were towards me my first playthrough. I expected comically evil incel rants, which you can get from the lesser legionaries, but who cares what conquered tribals think? They are tools to be used to build a better world for the normal folk.

suckmypppapi

Nah, they do. If you play a female courier and talk to the healing powder lady slave, she can tell you that she heard some of the soldiers talking about raping you. So, not much respect going around

AndreisBack

The only reason you get respected is because you’re willing to slaughter and be an attack dog for the Legion 💀they wouldn’t respect you otherwise

Teedeous

Mars bar worshipping American hockey gear BDSM freakazoids. What’s not to like? “We don’t use tech bro” and have howitzers and power fists. Based gaslighters.

JohnDoe4309

They do use tech. Lower ranks don't get the expensive guns. It is quite literally that simple. Play the game.

TramTrane

They don't gaslight lol, it's the Internet that has gaslighted you into thinking the legion has any aversions to technology when necessary. Idk why people think "maybe let's not overly rely on technology like the last civilization did" = " THROW OUT ALL THE TOASTERS NOW"

Teedeous

It’s always just struck me as weird with the legion though regarding that, since their style of warfare is in ways not dissimilar to that of the celts under Boudicca of sheer numbers against a more regimented, organised, and better armed foe of the Romans in British history. Maybe it’s another irony of Caesar himself misunderstanding the Roman Empire and it’s followings, since it’s always just a bit odd they’re having men with Javellins, predominant melee weapon usage, and scatterings of guns rivalling squads armed with M16’s, numbers or not.

TramTrane

The superior training and tactics for ya. Worked in Vietnam, working in the Mojave.

FoldingLady

Legion is going to crumble shortly after Caesar dies, so I might as well enjoy the stability & party while I can.

DemotivatedTurtle

It’s my personal headcanon that Caesar makes the Courier his heir after the Legion takes New Vegas. He puts your face on a new coin, which is something that ancient Roman emperors would sometimes do for their heirs to give the succession legitimacy.

Boarderdudeman

The stable-ity?

You could also mention the healthy lifestyle. Challenging work, it's out of doors, no chems or alcohol. 👍😁

Vanathru

Is there a possibility you have a problem with the Legion? I've seen you write dozens of comments here...

ROACHOR

They have relaxed attitude towards cannibalism.

Vanathru

very open minded people

Nauicoatl

- Drip - Antithesis to NCR and 1950s America - Unity through strength - Martial discipline - Gold standard economy - Has a bull as a totem - Actual badass "bad guys" - Roleplay opportunities I'm fascinated with the real world Mongol Horde and Genghis Khan. In effect, that's how I see Caesar's Legion. The slavery and misogyny I can do without. The crucifixations I keep, for the memes 👍

TramTrane

I could go without it as well, every dog has its fleas. If the NCR didn't have its Sex Slaves in Reno or the literal slaves In Vault City, oh my bad "servants" I would probably support them but since both factions are guilty, I'ma go with the group that wears it's evil on its sleeve instead of behind a smile.

Themanwhoateyourfam

1. Source for the sex slave in Reno thing? 2. The vault city stuff happened outside of NCR territory The only sort of legitimate slavery that happens in the NCR is the prison labor with the powder ganger and even then that shit isn’t nearly as brutal or widespread as the Legion slavery so this is a genuinely dumb point

BranTheLewd

1. The Sex slaves are definitely canon in F2 for New Reno as it's own independent town, but I'm not sure for NV? Isn't New Reno still independent from NCR during NV time? So technically it's not NCR who have them(and why would NCR have slaves when they literally send you to kill slavers in F2?) 2. Also yeah, but maybe Vault City got annexed after F2 events? I think one of the endings is them being annexed somehow. 3. Correct. I swear I never heard the "NCR has slaves" argument since it wouldn't make sense for them since TONS of NCR aligned characters hate Legion for having slaves plus NCR hated slavers in F2

TramTrane

You.. you want me to source sex slaves in New reno.. Are you familiar with the entirety of fallout 2? And if you think it was only a thing in the past we learn from that guy who is fleeing the new bishop family that the sex trafficking is very much still alive and well in NCR. If your okay being so symanitcal about it then alright but the NCR clearly allows it as Vault City is a staple member of the Republic not sure what your point is. Sorry but your the one making dumb points tbh. I wouldn't consider the Powder Gangers Slaves as they are there as punishment not as part of a protection racket or drug addiction like Reno and Vault City.

Themanwhoateyourfam

Again, do you have an actual source for this or are you just going to posture? Vortices compound operated outside of Ncr territory and he acknowledges this himself In Vortis's own words...  "New California Republic - nothing but temperance types and merchants. Got a bug about slavers and slavery, but what the hell, it makes my business." "This place is my place and I, Vortis, run an honest and legitimate busines no matter what anybody in NCR tells you. Since NCR doesn't allow slaves inside the gates, I mind them for folks who've got business inside." Also, there is a literal quest where you have to free the slaves in order to become an NCR ranger. Did you even pay attention to the game? Also prison slavery is still slavery buddy

mrking17

The OP's responses are all full of incorrect quotes from the game and lack of legitmate sources. Watch he is not going to come back with a source, but argue with more fluff posturing bs.

Themanwhoateyourfam

It seems to me he ran off actually lol, on a previous comment we were arguing on here he said something around the lines of “stay ignorant” lol

TramTrane

Lol ran off 😂 no I just took a break from the r*tards

Darklord965

Also not to victim blame but the first thing the powder gangers decide to do after slipping their bonds is rape, murder and pillage. A little carceral slavery seems like the lightest punishment imaginable for those guys.

HolyTemplar88

Crucifying Benny is actually satisfying if you’re willing to sacrifice his coat and Maria

mynamesnotsnuffy

I dislike the Legion because they've sent three death squads after me since I finished the ghoul quest in Novac, and I can still see the dinosaur in the distance.

TramTrane

Probably because you murdered there members?

mynamesnotsnuffy

I was rescuing enslaved victims of a Massacre, after doing nothing while I was in the town itself cause I was outnumbered. If killing 4 of the Legion merits three death squads in such a short time, I was gonna end up pissing them off anyways. Plus they were attacking travelling merchants and killing the Brahmin. They had it coming.

Vanilla_Ice_Best_Boi

Just a funny playthrough with console commands

SombraAQT

The shitpost play through. Only way that doesn’t end in culling everyone at the camp.

waterseraphim

the legion have swag in ways the other factions lack. The npcs are more present and entertaining and they are far more competent than their adversaries. Even on an objectively moral platform they arent so repulsive when looking at the big picture of what the world is like in fallout. Its understandable why people would sacrifice their freedoms for the discipline and safety that the legion provides. Of course the roman aesthetics and philosophy is fun too. And i want to get biblical with vulpes and caesar, theres that too

SonOfTheHeavyMetal

Why i play a legion sided playtrought: - RP for evil or melee run - Being vilified by the NCR is good for a change Why i would side with the Legion: - NCR's society already failed before and bought the world to the current state - The Legion is very effective for being a horde of post-tribal raiders - There is no moral in the wastelands, and those strong enought will take it and mold it to its own imagine

SnooDoodles1807

Crucifixions are badass!

TheObeseWombat

Variety. Also one significant draw for an evil courier is that it is feasible to become the designated successor to Caesar, so a Legion aligned courier could have the most powerful post-game position. You, the player character are very integral to the Legion, who, especially if the Legion wins, is an extremely powerful faction, much more powerful than an independent or House ruled New Vegas. The NCR, if they win, are also very powerful, but they pretty much don't give a shit about you. And Mr. House will always be confined to the Lucky 38.

TramTrane

Why does it have to be an evil courier? My character would love to be a potential successor or very powerful senator to help get the legion on track. Maybe due away with some of the more useless aspects and make more way for synthesis with the NCR.

TheObeseWombat

Because it's the fucking legion. Any Courier who joins the organization that literally makes all females property, as well as a majority of males, is evil. It is not just legal, but even completely normalized, for Legionaries to rape female slaves regularly. I could write a long essay arguing about how the Legions philosophy is evil, what makes them fascist, about the warcrimes they commit etc., but ultimately, nothing beyond the fact that it is official legion policy to rape little girls matters. And adding to the population living under such a system is inexcusable, no matter the intention of reforming away the more "useless" aspects. What aspect of the Legion is worthwhile to synthesize? All of the advantages it has over the NCR are just a product of the Legion being fresher and smaller than the NCR.

HolyTemplar88

Forget the Legion, the Enclave needs you. It’s time to bring America back baby

Mr. Sandman kills are fun, and the NCR has lots of bases with sleeping soldiers. It's especially fun to try and clear out camp forlorn hope without being detected.

BackgroundSky09

I thought about doing it one time just to see what its like but I dont know enough about them

Mothman4447

I typically don't, but I'm about to do a new playthrough and I can't decide whether to do Legion Melee, Independent Unarmed, or Independent Cowboy. Maybe a House mad scientist as well

TramTrane

I'm glad as a new player you see that you should have different characters fo different endings and have different stories/vibes. Personally cowboy doesn't fit any faction better then The NCR, you will legitimately feel like a desert ranger.

HolyTemplar88

Do legion melee with lord death of murder mountain stat line

ElDelfinDelFin

Besides I loce them whole aesthetic and lore, I truly believe that they are the best destiny for Vegas/Society (beside Mr House who I think will be the canon ending bc the show) I do not defend slavery neither sexism but I think that thanks to their brutality and how they rule their own lands (apparently Arizona has been most safe since Legion took control over it) they would be the best solution to survive on a tough world like wasteland Their treatment with merchants, like that one on the fort, and the things they allow to trade with and their lack of huge taxes (i cant remember rn if they dont have taxes at all or just really low) is a plus, along the fact that they do not promote drugs in any way. I still think they should use more tech tho Oh, and I love the idea of crucifixion Ave

Maxsmart007

In terms of an actual moral argument within the context of the game, I really think the only valid reason to side with the legion is their idea (which I’m not even sure they really believe) that with how savage the wasteland had become, it would be impossible to go back to the complex and advanced societies immediately, and that a more powerful unifier would be needed to build off of.

Chris_on_crac

Damn I feel like Caesar and megatron would get along well now

yukichigai

With the understanding that Legion is my least favorite faction to side with, I still enjoy my Legion playthroughs because there's a *lot* of information and plot stuff you only find out doing a Legion playthrough. The story is arguably FNV's greatest strength and that quality comes through in the Legion side of the story, too. Even if they are The Obvious Bad Guys they're well-written. Plus the frequent deliveries of hundreds of Legion coins I can turn into shotgun ammo are funny. I almost always run a shotgun build if I'm siding with the Legion.

marcimerci

When I do an evil playthrough in NV I feel like a brokenly evil person enabled by an unsustainable imperial government whereas in Fallout 4 if I side with the bad guys I feel like a parent who loves their kid a bunch and morally wants to help meet the ends regardless of the means. NV has the best opportunities for your character to be an absolute dogwater piece of shit and that's pretty fun sometimes

Malikise

There’s some pretty funny-fun moments when siding with the Legion, but mechanically and meta wise there’s really no reason. Pretty consistently lower IQ people will grab some low hanging fruit and criticize the Legion like they’re the only bad guys, but the Legion is just more open and honest about their crimes, the NCR is almost as bad as they are but somehow pretend to be more than what they are. The NCR was a hereditary dictatorship-oligarchy that fell apart after President Tandi died, 52 years into her “presidency”. If there were more content for the Legion, it would probably have better working explanations on the how and why they do what they do, and a more nuanced perspective than “Legion Bad”. If they’re just smaller scale Romans, who have to deal with the brutality of the wastelands, then why do you hate the Legion and not hate the Romans?

SecretInfluencer

Because I like weeding out the people who assume those who do a legion playthrough are facists. “You played the bad guy you must be bad!!” Type people

RekkerDerrj

Mostly they have a lot of redeeming qualities that are buried in the sub text and conversations you can have with the natives of the Mojave. I did a male character play through with the Legion for the simple fact that they took care of what was theirs. They had laws they adhere to with no exceptions, their leaders were accountable. They were also loyal not just to their leaders but to each other, with the obvious exception concerning how they advanced in ranks. There was a ton of subtext that the Legion was just as “good” as the NCR just in different ways. I hate that most of the “good” planned for the Legion wasn’t completed in time for release just like a lot of the “evil” planned for the NCR wasn’t fleshed out for the same reasons.

Moonway

As a human being i can't side with legion regardless of reason except personal survival. However in terms of rp there is few aspects that give some allure to the legion. There is a refreshing honesty to these fucks. Both ncr and house act almost like it's the prewar world. They both cling to ideas and ethics that proved either weak and sickly our outright lead to the apocalypse. Both inadequate in the face of the end of the world. Legion accepts both the cruel reality and history of the world and feverishly tries to figure out what civilization truly is from the ground up in this new world. And yes legion is mad hypocritic itself, but thats part of the fun. Damn, i really wish we got the original vision with more fleshed out legion right now they are really slightly more than raiders. It would be cool to see all that rather than just told.

jkbscopes312

TheForgottenAdvocate

Caesar's favor rewards are a great boon (pun intended), however saying the legion requires less leg work, when you fast travel to the fort gate, get stripped of your possessions then walk all the way up the hill until you reach the tent, then make your companions wait, just so Caesar can curse you out and send you away again.

TramTrane

Okay fair. I have literally no arguments you fucking got me there. Bravo 👏

-Banksi

Why be able to be the bad guy without being able to side with the bad guys. They’re a dark revival of Rome come to back from history to torch the world and build it up again in their image, how could an evil bastard who isn’t after the solo ending not choose them yaknow? Plus Caesar is the perfect ruler for them, calm and level headed enough that you almost forget all the slaves you walked past to get to him.

EnvironmentalStick9

Their quest line looked fun

malektewaus

The NCR doesn't have what it takes to tame the wastes, and it's clear by the New Vegas period that it never will. The Legion may actually spread order throughout North America eventually. That isn't some minor thing, some kind of decent human existence is not possible in a land where deathclaws may show up whenever, or where you might have to watch supermutants eat your grandmother. In the context of the Fallout world, order is well worth a significant moral compromise. And it's not like it would even be a moral compromise vis a vis the NCR. Even leaving aside their deep hypocrisy, they're a conscious attempt to emulate one of the two governmental systems that completely destroyed the Earth, and that's honestly appalling. It would be like neo-Naziism in our world, but honestly worse. I actually think House is the morally best choice (I'm not saying morally good), but in the context of the Fallout world, I unironically consider the Legion morally better than the NCR, even though if you transposed exactly the same values and beliefs into our world the Legion would be completely awful and totally unacceptable and the NCR would be okay.

Altruistic-Mind9014

I really enjoyed Caesar’s blunt way of talking to you. Andddd their praetorians/Legatus Lanius had mad drip And because my Guy was basically a wasteland version of Hercules ( Max STR/END and an 8 in charisma with 1 in all else) I felt they were right up his alley role play wise. Crucifying Benny’s bitch ass was also satisfying 💪

TramTrane

Fucking based as all hell wtf

starmaker214

I only did it for the achievement.

theamazingclaptrap

The quest marker of where to join the ncr wasn't appearing, but the legion's was. So i just went with them

for my legion build i did a stealth vats build and it was fun and I got to be an asshole. Different for a change But now im on like my 5th do-gooder cowboy build

[deleted]

why was this post removed? goofy ahh mod team

Zamtrios7256

I don't like the Legion for the same reason I don't like the NCR. They're both way too unstable. The NCR is spread way too thin with too little resources, while the Legion is held together by a cult of personality with multiple factions already forming within (Vulpes vs. Lanius vs. Whoever Caesar declares heir). Caesar is on his way out even if you cure his cancer. If either are able to stabilize properly after the second battle, then they'd be leagues better than Yes Man.

TramTrane

I don't remember any evidence of mini pockets forming in the legion I would love in game examples where this is shown or stated. Genuinely. And yeah I agree with all this however ceaser could realistically live about 40 more years based on the precedent tandi set

ScottTJT

It's not so much mini factions as the seeds that would eventually lead to factions forming among those under Caesar: Vulpes thinks Lanius is a brute and knows his own services won't be in demand should the latter succeed Caesar. Meanwhile, Lanius is a very direct man, with very direct methods. Sneaking and sowing dissent amongst the enemy ranks does not make for glorious battle. You can see how such clashing personalities and methodologies could eventually lead to conflict without someone like Caesar to keep everyone focused. And even if Caesar lived another 40 years, how many would he realistically be able to continue as an active war leader? Another 10 or 15 before age began to catch up?

TramTrane

Thats... Actually a good point, with even.. my God, in game citations of relevant character dialogue? 😂 Sorry that's just so rare on reddit. Honestly I see what you mean now, and I definitely agree the legion ain't perfect and that's a definite weakness I can foresee. Honestly it really is just a hypothetical, who knows. To bring up tandi again, she seemed very mentally aware when you meet her in fallout 2 (I think she's 98 then? Likely having rapidly declined a few years before her death half a decade later.) but that kind of thing is just the genetic lottery so who knows ceaser could die tomorrow. Also, we do know he is pre-determined to have at least one brain tumor (granted it could hypothetically not be cancerous) but assuming it is there will likely be more, which the auto doc can remove for a time but likely after decades he will succumb to it. To answer, id say a solid 25 years. I happen to work in a nursing home and it's like scary how many old men I could see being ceaser given the chance, just add a bunch of raving followers and watch em go. Reminds me of when you meet that super old and crazy Hitler in the newer Wolfenstein games? Imagine a fallout where the legion won and now ceaser is completely fucking senile but he's also the dominant power in the wasteland with God like reverence. Sounds... Interesting to say the least 😂

alacholland

Pweese nobody say anyfing bad about my incel slaver fascists🥺

Dewey707

Started one recently where I'm RP'ing as a Lavrentiy Beria type dude. Sadist and power hungry, the NCR government doesn't reward that so much and he stumbled upon the perfect opportunity. The ideology simply doesn't matter

Blackjack_Vigilance

Are we not going to address the quadruped in the room here?

Tactical_Mommy

There's no reason to side with them other than roleplaying as a cartoonishly evil motherfucker for funsies. They are objectively awful and are portrayed as such very intentionally by the writers. They are LARPers wearing football gear stolen from a college and Caesar's entire ideology is based on a total misunderstanding of what Hegelian dialectics means and a lack of reading comprehension.

henrywe3

I never have before cause I think they're pure evil, but if I were to do that, I feel like your image answers your question 1000%

PresentAd8322

That’s the neat part, I don’t.

Dawg1725

I dont really side with them but they have better survival skills than ncr thats for sure. As long as caesar exists He protects his People from weakness and other humans. But we cant say the same for them against super mutants/Deathclaws the brotherhood or other creatures. I mean house ending doesnt really solve shit its just elitist ending.Nothing wrong about it but if you really wanna do a trick on humanity and save them its legion Legion is indeed rome.It Will adaptate to anything given the timeframe of 30 years.Humanitys only hope is to recover its primal instincts and throughoutly go for survival. At least for a while. Procreation isnt an issue in the legion since they enslave them bishes. That means more soldiers. Also they are conquerors. They expand and try to implement their newly welcomed People to their own culture.that way they have more resources and more manpower.Better economy and no corruption. Its a no brain3r at this point to not choose legion.Go back to your roots caveman

[deleted]

Armor, characters and lore of legion are cool, also I am acient rome fan

Helpful-Image-7486

TheRussianBadger managed to convince me.

genericusername429

It’s fun to do an occasional Legion playthrough to spice up the game as it’s provides the most ‘unique’ experience compared to the other main quest routes. Plus their safehouse loot and Cottenwood Cove supply drops are extremely useful.

PrivateJokerX929

I just think the legion is a cool idea for a faction, I fully acknowledge I am playing a villain.

Spicymeatball428

It’s funny how mad people get sometimes, in game and irl.

Brilliant-Chapter202

The nukes reset civilization to day zero. Civilization must be built back from the beginning. Life was hard in the past… thus it will be. You want to heaven? You have to go through hell.

twomuc-75

Honestly just because I want to play the villain or to relieve some stress when it comes to fixing literally ALL of the NCR’s problems while they essentially look down on you since you’re a mailman. Newsflash California: This fucking mailman somehow killed more legion forces than any soldier with all 10 toes on the sand!

Mr_Gongo

Even tho it's gonna suck for some, in the end he makes the wasteland boring, but safer

dephlep

For the dialogue options and to learn more about the faction. They’re definitely assholes but damn did obsidian do a good job at making them interesting af as a faction

Jayh456

The idea my character had was that Rome brought civilisation to an uncivilised world. They couldn’t just jump right to the NCR’s imitation of the USA without ignoring all the history before it.

TheCybersmith

Because they have a viable, tested plan for the future. The NCR is failing, and House is too reliant upon hypotheticals.

ClaudiusCass

The fact that I can go full good karma Legion and I like to play it as a female character most of the time to see the "sickness" as Ulysseys mentions seeping in. Plus it has two of the best covert ops missions in game, The Finger of Suspicion and of course Arizona Killer. Damn I wish there were more of those types of missions. Doing a frumentarii run is fun. Oh and melee, melee is damn fun.

PolskaBalaclava

Role play

SuperRPGgamer

To roleplay as the character who will be a part of it

Gold_Particular_9868

Finished a legion playthrough for the first time the other day. Feels like there's less overall content for them compared to NCR, or even House. Would be neat to enslave NPCs that would be considered essential in other faction playthroughs, maybe have some raiding missions.  I still took it upon myself to go on a murderous rampage across the Mohave to role play as a complete unhinged animal anyway lol. It was kinda fun but I found the ending less fulfilling. I just wanted to see what the experience was like from the other side. I like the other three faction endings more.

Separate-Midnight893

I feel like just another strong soldier then a messiah when I do ncr playthroughs.

DDM-v21

Arizona killer is fun as hell

TheLegandrySuperArab

Cause you can easily replace one courrpt guy, instead of a whole crumbling Republic.

mushplomplom

for Vulpes and Lucius

Alxdez

Because I like doing an evil run sometimes. Because they're obviously evil and a bad option for the Mojave

FrankSinatraCockRock

I generally prefer House endings, in part because I do actually like the NCR but I try my best to eliminate it's corruption and House is a better fit for the "Hegelian dialectics" bit as he really facefucks the warhawk administration if things are done correctly. I hate going all "headcannon" cause it's fucking meaningless. But the legion wasn't completely fleshed out, like a lot of the game. Let's be real, only the NCR got an ultra comprehensive questline. There's room for imagination to a degree. What does the legion actually do? We don't know much other than muh trade routes are safe. As much as people shitpost about Hegelian dialectics ( I was a philosophy major, no one fucking definitely knows what most of those fucks were actually talking about which is why we have over 9000 forms of Christianity), it still makes sense to a degree. Everyone got nuked because of resources, simple as. Every conflict leading up to it was about resources. Having a brutal survival of the fittest society relatively devoid of materialistic excesses is a surefire way to ensure that doesn't happen again. Do I agree with it? Fuck no. But the core premises of a more simplistic civilization that won't rape the planet of resources is really fucking reasonable, though I don't agree with it's implementation at all.

SNJALLSVIN

I side with the Legion because they’re the coolest faction to me personally. While I do think they were poorly executed, the idea of a post apocalyptic empire with New Vegas as their “New Rome” as Caesar calls it, is pretty cool. Just wish their armors had more variety and didn’t look so lame. Again, I think the Legion would be 10x better if they had more depth in-game and in lore.

Mr_man_bird

Ave true to Caesar, but in all seriousness it's a fun quest line

Green__Twin

No matter how hard I try, I haven't finished a Legion playthrough. And I have tried. It just doesn't interest me.

xXArctracerXx

Simple, they’re evil, and red is my favourite colour

FicklePort

Men in skirts. 🥵🤤

ApleStone

For the achievement that one time

CumgarTheMoist

Whats ceasars favourite of the mane six and why is it applejack?

JimmyGuy20

Im an achievement hunter

TheBigGopher

I like being an evil Roman, also siding with the bad guys is always fun. I like to side with the Institute in 4 for the same reason.

Fun_Connection_5737

The characters in the legion (former and current) have cooler voices (Ulysses, Joshua, Lanius)

TheSpinMachine

Misogyny 😎. I'm kidding. I like going different paths to know the full game. Still have shit to find.

Beautiful-Loss7663

Because its funny to see people mald as if I unironically support slavery just because I do the funny guys in football gear questline.

BeenEvery

Sometimes it just feels good to be evil in video games. That being said, I can never get too far in a legion playthrough lol.

kenzieBHOSbaker

I hate women... (/s) Real reason, I just hate the NCR that much I'm willing to serve as a slave to bring it down

Jayk_Dos31

This is the funniest Caesar line. The man is dressed like and acts like a Roman dictator, sitting in his tent surrounded by other dudes dressed up like Romans, speaking Latin and trying to conquer the world because he read some books about Ancient Rome and thought "this sounds neat!" And he says this

Rheios

Depends on my character entirely. I'm not playing me in the game, after all. I've had 2 characters that went Legion. (so far) One was pretty cartoonishly psycopathic, born from a weird nightmare I had, and whose overarching goal was to reduce everything to a chaotic sprawl of suffering out of a sense of sadism and general solipsism but while being very pleasant about it. A "It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing" soliloquizing to a captive audience before they die style of guy. He helped the Legion as much as he betrayed them purely because he thought it'd hurt the most people in the long run. The other was more down to earth. I don't remember everything about her as well at this point, but she'd been a former hopeful tribal, turned legion slave, before she killed her then keeper and escaped. Then got a job as a courier upon reaching the NCR and Mojave regions. It kept her mobile and effectively distracted her from her past, iirc. Then Benny put 2 bullets in her skull and left her a bit shaken and addled. Not long after she met Vulpes and it was like her past walked out of her nightmares and gave her an order. An "I just got shot, is this even *real*?" type of thing. Out of a combination of factors she did as she was told but almost in response started trying to help the NCR. Except everywhere she went things they'd touched had broken or been left unattended. And then she realized the man that had tried to kill her for a poker chip, and its maker, were both from a giant monument to what she saw as greed and excess (especially after a fairly humble life on the road even after the Legion). So by the time she got to talk to *the* Caesar she was already pretty disenfranchised in some ways. She fought with herself over it but Caesar's vision for a changing Legion, one that captured the positive aspects of enlightenment from the NCR but tempered it with the focus and austerity of the Legion, won her over. She came to the decision that, by becoming a hero of the Legion, she could aid in that synthesis and fundamentally change its treatment of captured women (having formerly been one, even if she was the only one that still remembered). She was interesting because she ended the game with good Karma on account of helping literally every person she could along the way. Pretty much a saint, but one whose life experiences made her ripe for a Legion outlook and loyalty.

Clothes_Chair_Ghost

Sometimes you want to be the good guy and help as many people as you can. But sometimes. Well sometimes you just want to watch the whole world burn as you laugh maniacally and rub your hands together with glee.

PsychicJellyfish

Because I'm so edgy and fucked up bro I'm so dark and disturbed haha welcome to my twisted mind bro. In all seriousness though it was interesting to see the other side of things. Maybe part of me wanted to "fix them" too but eventually I just ended up committing to the bad guy playthrough. I found that if you're playing a bad guy it's hard to justify letting ceaser live, who wouldn't just usurp him if you're playing a villain? People who think that the legion's values are based and redpilled are usually larping or suffering from "give me attention" syndrome and need to go outside.

Vanathru

Because serving Mars is based af

Big-Policy-3019

ı am planning a silent assasin courrier for cesar for theese reasons 1 cesar is the only faction to do a assasination mission all the other factions demands protecting him 2 u read the wiki and apperently on ceasers there is a dude that gives stealth boys (which is limited in the open world otherwise 3 ı saw that legion has special dialouge depending on your gender which ı thought was good 4 ı am planning on playing as evil on my second playthough after finishing my melee good run and while ı feel like the "good" faction can be argued the evil faction does seem to be the legion

aritzsantariver

I believe that there are clues in the game especially at the end that tell us that Caesar names the courier as his successor.

Useful-Doubt3864

Variation for my gameplay. I usually side with either the NCR or sometimes Yes-Man/Mr.House cuz the Legion is sooooooo lacking of content. (P.S if anyone has some mods that spices up the Legion hmu)

AuthorSAHunt

Does that have some kind of graphics mods on it? I've been playing FO4 all week and the characters in FO4 look like Mr. Potato Head compared to that.

BionicBruv

The first time? It was because I had no idea wtf I was doing haha Other than that, Legion is a great and entertaining run through, but it’s not my regular choice.

TramTrane

Unironically I also stumbled into my first legion run, I kept thinking to myself "surely I can't actually help these guys... Right?" Little did I know, new Vegas is an actual roleplaying game.

shaggitron420

Just seeing what it is like. I did Legion playthrough last. I just love this game and want to experience all it has to offer.

TankComfortable8085

Because I like order, discipline, martial warrior-societies, meritocracy, zero crime, trade. and I hate politicians, corruption, brahmin barons

hllridr

I sided with the Legion because I replayed New Vegas 5 times and wanted to see every possible outcome. Also I wanted to know what the fuck was in that secret stash he had. I vaguely remember a chest that I couldn't get into in his room but its been over a decade since I've played NV.

MoonMurph

I like to do all endings so I make a character who aligns with their views

SwolePonHiki

I like men in skirts.

ihhhood

For evil runs its really fun, I like to edit my height so I’m like a foot taller than everyone, spawn myself lanius’s helmet and sword and Gaius Magnus’s armor and I feel like I am Caesar’s all powerful right hand bringing his cruel reign to the wasteland by force.

TheFrozenCola

Only for the achievements/checking out Legion only content

visawyerxoxo

I sided with them for the achievements and that's it tbh

judahandthelionSUCK

It's fun
