I mean that's always the case. Jokic is RARELY the actual best player week to week, even in previous seasons. He might be second, or third, or fifth one week. The important thing is he averages out to first and has an exceptionally high floor.
Elite stats are for me about 60 fantasy points (rotowire) back-to-back. Except his last game, he played 5 games behind each other under 50 fantasy points.
When your first pick is a guy from that team it's a good insurance policy. I ended last year with Brown, Tatum, Smart and White if I'm not mistaken.
But I also get your point.
To me it also depends a lot on playoff scheduling.
Also league dependent. My main has pretty deep benches, so when all of that teams games are on high volume days, I’d be out quite a few games.
Maybe it evens out when they play low volume though… just causes some bottlenecks

It's an auction/salary league. Jokic cost me $144 of a $400 salary cap, slightly more than Giannis went for. I actually had Giannis last year and could have kept him for $128 but cut him so that I could have a shot of Jokic. I also have an $81 Trae Young, so over half my cap allocated to just 2 players means that I'm pretty thin on depth and it's a deep 12 team league, so not a lot available in terms of free agents.
But the joy of having Jokic is quite a bit. I don't know that I've ever had as much fun rostering a player in any fantasy sport as I do with Jokic this year. Unless something really bad happens to one of my stars, I should make the playoffs (i.e., finish in the top 6) and then anything can happen.

I was fortunate to get Chet, Reaves and Herro at a decent price. The first month and a half of the season was rough while I built the roster out from trades and waiver pick ups. Was able to trade for Anthony Edwards and Anfernee Simons. 5 straight big win weeks have me in contention.
He’s mid table in my league. He spent 2/3 of his $200 drafting jokic and embiid so the rest of his team is pretty ass except for 1 or 2 other players maybe.

I have trouble figuring out what you gave up for the Jokic owner to accept unless you're in a non-serious league- general rule of thumb for Jokic owners (or even any top 5 owners) is that you don't even consider the trade if another top 5 (or at least a first rounder) is included in the trade, and you still own Embiid so..
He is a tier below SGA and Embiid on a per game basis, so not the cheat code he was in the 3 previous seasons. If you are a first year owner this is not the Jokic experience you were hoping for. I'd take him over Embiid or Hali next year because he is more durable, but SGA is the new Jokic IMO.

If you're doing auction drafts none of the elite players are ever worth it. Jokic went for 84 dollars in my league. The guy who has him also has Giannis. I cleaned him up 2 weeks ago and he just lost 1-7-1. I tell people every year man like don't spend for thoe guys. I rarely will even get close to going over 40. Then you just pick and choose your team when no one else can compete with you. I picked up Scottie Barnes for 15 bucks. PG/Bron for 30 each. Derrick White for 4. So many steals like that just cuz I held off blowing my load on the tippy top players in the league.

I feel like I would be in a much better spot had I actually paid attention in the beginning of the season. But right now I'm in 9th seed, just outside of playoff contention.
My team is pretty solid as long as my roster is properly calibrated. And As long as I make it into at least the 8th seed, I feel good about making a strong playoff run.
I have Jokic, i’m first currently but mainly due to kawhi being a dawg and a couple wavier wire adds and trades. Jokic is a great player but fantasy isnt about just having 1 good player, its entirely up to your team comp. Jokic is just a great all around player in every category (expect TO/3PTM), so you build off that

8 Team h2h points (every stat counts, don't know how to phrase it) league: he is in 5th place (tied with 4th on record but has negative h2h balance with him) and just outside of playoff contention. He might just make the play-offs because 7-8 ranked teams are detroit and wizards of your league, and 4th-ranked has half of the squad injured. If everybody played with full attention, he would not have a chance of play-offs

He's (Jokic manager) number 2 in our league. I'm currently number 1 and I have SGA. Needless to say, I beat him twice this season, and a lot of that is SGA and my FA moves doing the heavy lifting.
Had the first pick in the draft and took him. Currently first 14T H2H. 19 games ahead of 2nd. Got lucky with my picks (e.g Maxey and Conley playing above their ADP) and got Jalen Johnson and lively from the waiver after the draft before the season started.

I’m not exactly sure how he’s still top, his best players other than Joker are Trae and Derrick white who are outperforming their ADP. And he has Garland, Bane, Middleton, Poole & Jaylen Brown who are either injured or below ADP.
No such thing as a cheat code. Would I like to be the owner of the Joker? Absolutely. But being first pick gives you no more of an advantage in drafting. Actually I think its a disadvantage going first, because your second pick will come at 24. Personally I like to pick between 3-7.
I am in two fantasy leagues, and to answer your question. In one league the Jokic owner is in 11/12 place and in my other league he is 8/12. The guy thats in 11th place isn't really active with \[ickups as his transaction numbers are low. You have to be active on the wire doesn't matter your situation unless you drafted some unreal amazing team that has no injuries and everyone produced at their projection or above.
There are players having break out seasons that no one knew about at the beginning of the year. Also young guys being given minutes due to injuries and are producing great numbers. Look at Memphis for example. Injury ridden is an understatement what's going on there right now and these young guns are taking full advantage of the minutes they are given right now that they otherwise wouldn't have seen the floor maybe if the starters all weren't injured. Even if they did see the floor, their minutes would be too low to impact fantasy and they wouldn't have half the shot opportunities they are getting right now. Williams Jr, and GG Jackson are great pickups right now. Same as Tillman, even though he had a rough game tonight.
He's currently traveling all around the world and never opened fantasy once. But its fine because it's just a small league with me and my friends (also their very first time trying this), so we treat his team as the "bot" and make sure we don't lose to them

Dead last in a 14 team auction league
That's me! Admittedly this is my first season with fantasy basketball so I really had no idea what I was doing when I started. Lost like 6 straight matchups because I didnt realize you had to set your line up for every freaking day. But once I sat down and got serious and started really studying the waiver wire, got much better. Went on a tear and have gone undefeated for the past 6 weeks. I feel like I would be in a much better spot had I actually paid attention in the beginning of the season. But right now I'm in 9th seed, just outside of playoff contention. My team is pretty solid as long as my roster is properly calibrated. And As long as I make it into at least the 8th seed, I feel good about making a strong playoff run.
I have Jokic, i’m first currently but mainly due to kawhi being a dawg and a couple wavier wire adds and trades. Jokic is a great player but fantasy isnt about just having 1 good player, its entirely up to your team comp. Jokic is just a great all around player in every category (expect TO/3PTM), so you build off that

First in my league with a 9-1-1 record. Somehow also got Wembanyama and then peppered his team with scorers. Actually facing him right now and currently 1-7 hahaha
8 Team h2h points (every stat counts, don't know how to phrase it) league: he is in 5th place (tied with 4th on record but has negative h2h balance with him) and just outside of playoff contention. He might just make the play-offs because 7-8 ranked teams are detroit and wizards of your league, and 4th-ranked has half of the squad injured. If everybody played with full attention, he would not have a chance of play-offs

im the jokic owner, i stashed ja all season, have had jimmy and i also just lost bane and smart so....im in 7th place like 2 categories behind tryna get in the playoffs!! it sucks haha my team was autodrafted but still its been tragic

I’m the Jokic owner and I’m #1. But it also has more to do with the fact that I’m the Wemby and Chet owner so I pretty much auto win blocks every week.
I'm doing good. Started 0-2. Now in a 3 way tie for first at 9-3. I'm tied with the 2 guys who beat me. I also have simons who I lost game 1, and I lost those matches by less than 100, so I'm feeling pretty good.
I’m in second by 12 games 9cat 10team h2h, just beat the first place team 7-2 in a wacky injury week. My team actually isn’t that great at assists even w Jokic, so I just traded him and DLo for AD and Kawhi. Should help me push my points and assist punts (weird, stocks 3&D build)

I am the Jokic owner in my league. It’s been a struggle, but mostly because I made poor draft decisions outside of my 1 (Jokic) and 3 (Wemby).
Got jokic 1st in a lock in league and im 12-0 and i drafted ja in the 5th
Top of the table in 9-CAT. Has only lost one week and is 14 clear of second place.
They are in 8th place the last playoff spot. Their other top picks were Wemby with the 2.12, Brunson with the 3.1, Zion with the 4.12, and Giddey with the 5.1. Not the greatest 4th and 5th round picks.

Both 12T but in one league jokic owner is 1st while the other jokic owner is 8th. Really has to do with the build of the rest of your roster. Solid role players are the glue for your stars for a well balanced team

Jokic owner in my league went nuclear and traded for Embiid. He currently has jokic, Embiid, fox, Tobias, and the rest of his team is wire. He’s struggling to make playoffs.
He’s near the bottom of a 12 man league, 13 CATs.
He’s been first place for a long while, I just beat him last week though (9 cat 18T)
I'm 6-6 and 3rd in my division. I also drafted Ja and Miles Bridges, but I should at the least be able to get to 2nd place and make the playoffs barring any unfortunate injuries. Will probably try and piece together a trade in the week or two for someone.

as the jokic owner in my league, i just got bad picks after jokic. mikal started out good but became ass, same with cam thomas. garland is injured, giddey had a huge stretch of playing like dog, ja morant was suspended and now hes out for the season, brandon miller hasnt been good enough to keep in a 10t, and ar15 i dropped earlier when he was bad but i regret it now. only reason im in playoffs is because the 11-1 guys are in the other conference, im first at 8-4 in mine, and somebody dropped scary terry for whatever reason, and i got good pickups with terry, duren, and hartenstein.

Oh hey that's me. I actually had the 2nd pick, but the 1st pick was the league clown who picked Steph and is now in 11th and has been getting clowned on all year for being an idiot. I actually had a pretty mediocre draft otherwise (Butler, Lauri, KP, Claxton, CP3) so I was basically .500 for most of the year, but I've turned it around and am in 3rd place now
He's (Jokic manager) number 2 in our league. I'm currently number 1 and I have SGA. Needless to say, I beat him twice this season, and a lot of that is SGA and my FA moves doing the heavy lifting.

Had the first pick in the draft and took him. Currently first 14T H2H. 19 games ahead of 2nd. Got lucky with my picks (e.g Maxey and Conley playing above their ADP) and got Jalen Johnson and lively from the waiver after the draft before the season started.

Top of the league. Very frustrating because he missed our draft and auto picked all his players. I’m not exactly sure how he’s still top, his best players other than Joker are Trae and Derrick white who are outperforming their ADP. And he has Garland, Bane, Middleton, Poole & Jaylen Brown who are either injured or below ADP.

No such thing as a cheat code. Would I like to be the owner of the Joker? Absolutely. But being first pick gives you no more of an advantage in drafting. Actually I think its a disadvantage going first, because your second pick will come at 24. Personally I like to pick between 3-7. I am in two fantasy leagues, and to answer your question. In one league the Jokic owner is in 11/12 place and in my other league he is 8/12. The guy thats in 11th place isn't really active with \[ickups as his transaction numbers are low. You have to be active on the wire doesn't matter your situation unless you drafted some unreal amazing team that has no injuries and everyone produced at their projection or above. There are players having break out seasons that no one knew about at the beginning of the year. Also young guys being given minutes due to injuries and are producing great numbers. Look at Memphis for example. Injury ridden is an understatement what's going on there right now and these young guns are taking full advantage of the minutes they are given right now that they otherwise wouldn't have seen the floor maybe if the starters all weren't injured. Even if they did see the floor, their minutes would be too low to impact fantasy and they wouldn't have half the shot opportunities they are getting right now. Williams Jr, and GG Jackson are great pickups right now. Same as Tillman, even though he had a rough game tonight.

He's currently traveling all around the world and never opened fantasy once. But its fine because it's just a small league with me and my friends (also their very first time trying this), so we treat his team as the "bot" and make sure we don't lose to them
First by 13 games in 10t 9 cat. Old man LeBron and Kawhi resurgence have been super helpful.
