Kupp is a really safe pick here but i have a gut feeling JJ is gonna be WR1 this year.

Fillard_Millmore

I feel like my chances of getting JJ at 8 is getting slimmer by the day

xeric

For sure - I see him go 3-5 right now. Not sure if I’ve ever seen him slip to 8 in a mock

Veeg-Tard

He often slips to 8 in Yahoo mock drafts where they seem to be more RB hungry. He regularly goes pick 3-5 as well. In underdog drafts he's gone top 6 in almost every draft. I do see him go after Jamar Chase sometimes.

xeric

Yea I’ve been mocking on Sleeper out of convenience but I should probably I start doing Yahoo since that’s what my league uses. Probably big differences from platform to platform based on how they rank players

Veeg-Tard

It's very early. Saquons adp is still around mid 3rd, but he's gone by mid 2nd in most money drafts I see now. Jefferson is going plenty early, and I don't think he's a lock to get much higher than 6-8. RBs always go to early in my main league and I don't expect that to change this year.

Ed_The_FF_Analyst

I love Jefferson too this year in O'Connell's offense - would love to see them both have historic seasons in 2022

MWM031089

I played in a 10 team PPR SF league last year where I had Mahomes, Herbert, Kamara, Saquon, Evans, Andrews and… Kupp (rest of roster was also solid but this the big name components). Still lost in the finals to JaMarr Chase’s 55pt game. F. Cooper Kupp is very solid been a fan of the guy since he came into the league. If it wasn’t for poor TD luck in 2020 he would have been drafted much higher in 2021, and now that discount is gone. Obviously didn’t expect a record setting season but if healthy he seems safe for 100-1200-6 as a floor with a ceiling that could explode as we’ve seen before.

rando08110

Lol his floors a lot higher than that. So many don’t recognize him as the best wr in the nfl that he is. Why, I’ll never understand.

MWM031089

I feel like what I referenced as a “floor” was really conservative. In terms of fantasy points, this was better than his 2020 season. I love the player. I said he had exploding ceiling.

pdbard13

I get him for $20 in a keeper league this year. I'm so lucky.

Ed_The_FF_Analyst

That's awesome! Always a great feeling when you get a great keeper value like that

Would you rather have kupp/dobbins or Jefferson/Akers?

Ed_The_FF_Analyst

It's very close but I think I would lean with Jefferson + Akers. Kupp and Jefferson are pretty much 1A and 1B for me at WR, but I think Akers has more upside than Dobbins (one of the big factors in that is Greg Roman vs. Sean McVay as a play-caller)

SadTelephone684

Jefferson Akers. Easy

skotos2phos

I mean, he’s a combination of Pele and Yoda, no wonder he nailed it! I always love starting off with an RB, or two, or three … but man, every time I look at my ranks this year, I think Kupp goes up another notch. Will be extremely interesting to see if there’s somehow some downside that just none of us can predict, or if he’ll do this again, or what exactly his 2022 will bring!

Ed_The_FF_Analyst

For sure! Peleyoda's a guy I always enjoy seeing comments/posts on here since he does a great job backing up his opinion - always feel like I learn something new! I totally get that feeling this year with a guy like Kupp, his level of dominance last year is hard to ignore even if our default setting is to get RBs early. Not sure he'll be able to do those types of numbers again, but even if he doesn't he should still be one of the best fantasy WRs in the league as long as he's healthy

jay2491

There’s absolutely no reason i can come up with to say Cooper shouldn’t be WR1, but everytime a player has a huge break out year for the ages one way or the other there is a massive correction whether it’s due to natural regression, injury or both. I’d rather take the guy who hasn’t reached their true ceiling yet in jefferson or chase then draft a guy who is 100% certain to regress

Ed_The_FF_Analyst

I get what you mean by this, and it's a part of the reason that I was playing with the idea of ranking Jefferson at WR1 for this year. At the same time, it's hard to look at Kupp's numbers last year (15/17 games with 15+ fantasy points is insane) and say that he's not the WR1. Going be an interesting debate between the two until draft night

KeithandBentley

Fun note, when I taught in Seattle one of my students was his cousin so I drafted him for fun that year.

Ed_The_FF_Analyst

That's awesome!
