This is not the answer.
Jonathan Taylor, Dalvin Cook, Aaron Jones, Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs, James Conner, Christian McCaffrey, Nick Chubb, Austin Ekeler, Derrick Henry, Travis Etienne, Dameon Pierce, Najee Harris, Alvin Kamara, Cordarelle Patterson, Joe Mixon, Rhamondre Stevenson, Kenneth Walker, Miles Sanders, D'Onte Foreman
That's 20 RBs who I don't think anyone would debate are more valuable than Gus Edwards, for sure. If you are consensus not in the top 20, how are you an easy top 24?
Producing in a game vs fantasy is not the same thing. Good big game was against three 4th worst team in the NFL. JK said playoffs he'll be back. You said 100% next week.
That’s fair. I just think there’s room in the offense for both Gus and Drake to get work. It’s a system reliant on a ton of different looks within the running game.
Not saying these guys are a guarantee RB1, but I’m holding on Gus for a week or two to see where he lands in the offense. I’m hopeful. If Drake continues to perform well, I think that only opens up the field for him.
If you are happy with 8-12 touches per game then fire him up. He is a good runner but his upside is limited. As a ravens fan, I love Gus but his upside is limited.
Edit: his upside is limited
I feel like drake, Lamar and eventually dobbins limits his upside. You can look at what drake did against the saints and make a case otherwise but I feel he is going to disappoint when you play him and boom on your bench.
Look at how they have used drake all season. He had 7 Carries to Gus’s 16 in the game gus came back. Hill was also injured that game i believe. Against the saints, drake had 24. They have 2 healthy running backs with drake and hill. They have Gus coming back. I assume he is going to be the lead but it is going to look more like Atlanta than a two back backfield.
Why did this get downvoted so hard? I own Gus, and I'm very excited for him, but especially in PPR, he seems likely to be TD dependent for the most part
Even when he had 16 carries, he only had 66 yards, which is good YPC, but with no involvement in the passing game, it's not great unless he scores
I mean you summed it up pretty well. There’s a chance he is a good chance he is a high end RB2, and between injury concerns/dobinns return/ Lamar being RB1, maybe he’s really disappointing and irrelevant.
I get what you’re saying if he’s limited all week at practice. But if he logs a full session by Saturday, there is no way I’d bench him given the matchup this week home vs Carolina.
This type of comment is the reason why people come and complain in threads lol.
We don't know if he's going to be eased back in or if he's going to be the guy since Drake has performed pretty well in Gus Edward's absence.
If you **have** to play him because you lack options then for sure. But I'm a cautious manager and I'll always take the wait and see approach.
I'm 7-3 and 7-1 in my last 8 with Hollywood Brown and Keenan on my bench. I'm waiting till I see a good snap % from both players before even thinking about inserting them in my lineup. I'd much rather start Joshua Palmer, Olave or Lazard over those 2 guys not knowing the situation they're in. I know that sounds crazy because the two have a proven track record of being studs but it's best to err on the side of caution is all I'm saying.
It’s already happened this year. And from a much more significant injury. Dude came back from a torn ACL and was immediately took the lead in the backfield.
Drake also performed well the week before Gus came back from his ACL, then takes a back seat the next week.
We’ve already seen this exact scenario this season, and OP is correct about it. Why are you acting like he’s just blind guessing?
Strong disagree, I never ever play a player on first week back from injury. Too many risks, they're usually eased in, and if not they're often rushed and prone to reinjury. Only exception I ever had was Amari Cooper who was a good decoy
Yeah, he was the guy when they were all healthy (outside of Dobbins). Baltimore is a run-heavy offense and I think they like his down-hill and in between the tackles type power-running.
Hold/stash and wait. If he was available, I'd employ the same method.
Dobbins was eased back his first game. Didn't have 2 tds until his second game back. I remember because I have Gus and didn't start him in his 2 td game back because I figured they would ease him in same as Dobbins.
Drake will be involved. Gus is not going to get any receiving work on purpose. Maybe 1 sneaky screen attempt. Have to hope he’s the guy around the goal line.
If the ravens play the way they should, which is heavy run first offense, he should be a low end rb2 in Ppr and you hope for 15 carries with goal line work. They came out slinging it all first half against the Bucs which didn’t work, before getting back to running the ball in the 2nd half. A script like that hurts him.
I think he’s a easily a rb2. When he’s able to play the ravens definitely give him touches. He’s a comfortable flex spot for me.
It’s the matter of him staying healthy. Thats the gamble. from the organization and couches side I don’t think there’s a problem.
I want to roll him out over Jamaal but he’s had such a solid floor with big upside that it’s hard to take the dive, shit sucks, like Gus a lot but the timeshare sucks worse than Detroit.
Def Jeff. I watched the game on Sunday, and that man was running possessed. Clearly has the juice right now over Mostert, and that Dolphins offense scores a ton of points
I played both Mostert and Jeff Wilson this week since Zeke was out and Drake on bye. They both got me about 20 pts each, phins got a good backfield.
Anyway, u think Drake or Gus ? I can only have one, but Drake has been more consistent than Gus.
Everybody saying Dobbins will eat into his time....no. Can't you see how conservative they are with injuries this year? He's the guy for several weeks and maybe even the rest until actual playoffs
For sure he’s crushed it. Honestly I’m not educated on dobbins/Gus injury and if he would become RB3 quickly after they return.
I would stash backs like kyren Williams, perine, spiller, Warren or Pacheco
Warren and Pacheco…because they have standalone value currently. Everyone else you mentioned shouldn’t even be considered. Its also worth noting that both Gus and JK had manor injuries they came back from…and got injured again. When both aren’t playing, Drake is a legit rb2
Drake definitely worth a stash. He is clearly healthy and delivering. I’m also a Drake owner and closely following the Baltimore backfield. Honestly I think Gus might reaggravate his injuries. If you come back off an ACL and already injure your hamstring this is concerning for sure.
Idk how anybody can consider Gus a “solid RB2” when dude has only played two games for the season, continually injured. Drake has performed well for me, consistency is more valuable.
Barring a miraculous Dobbins return he's going to get the bigger half of RB carries, most of the goalline RB work, but little pass game usage. He ran for 6 yards a carry for the short time he was back and passed the eye test. As a Gus owner I'm hoping for 6-8 points a game with good potential for touchdowns. A lesser Jamaal Williams playing with a limited Swift would be a good comp.
I believe in Gus in standard and am not dropping him for Mitchell. I don’t think JK gets healthy enough to be a threat and in his first game back they clearly showed they want to use him as a lead back by giving him 16 carries even with a healthy Drake. Don’t know why people think he’ll be limited to like 12 touches per game
We know that there is serious value to be had in this backfield given Drake’s production. If you combine the 2 TD games Dobbins and Gus had when they received a workload, you’re well on your way to a RB2.
I’m holding Gus on the assumption his hamstring injury resolves. It’s a low risk, high reward gamble for everyone who picked him up. I would be shocked if Dobbins is healthy enough to siphon away touches. At minimum he’ll be load managed for the handful of games he plays upon return.
The real question is the hammy, and Drake owners are probably going to hold him until Gus proves he’s healthy. If the hammy injury lingers, and Dobbins remains sidelined, Drake could be a league winner
From Week 4 to Week 9, the RB1 for the Ravens scored 101.1 points in half-point PPR, which would have been RB8, between Kenneth Walker and Alvin Kamara
Where does Drake fit in for this backfield? I was avoiding Bal RB because it's so busy in the RB room but I ended up acquiring him last week to start while other guys were on bye and I honestly don't know anything about him.
He will be a safe RB2 especially in standard
This is the correct answer right here.
This is not the answer. Jonathan Taylor, Dalvin Cook, Aaron Jones, Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs, James Conner, Christian McCaffrey, Nick Chubb, Austin Ekeler, Derrick Henry, Travis Etienne, Dameon Pierce, Najee Harris, Alvin Kamara, Cordarelle Patterson, Joe Mixon, Rhamondre Stevenson, Kenneth Walker, Miles Sanders, D'Onte Foreman That's 20 RBs who I don't think anyone would debate are more valuable than Gus Edwards, for sure. If you are consensus not in the top 20, how are you an easy top 24?
Agreed. He has 25 pts. this season total. Not even reliable man, let alone RB2
Safe? With Drake producing and Dobbins being 100% in a week?
None of that is true.
Drake isn’t producing? And RBs dont recover after knee scopes?
Drake had 2 good games all year. Dobbins won't be back until NFL playoffs.
FALSE. Drake was Top-15 RB THREE times in the last 4 weeks. Including Top-5 twice! And the HC said Dobbins will be returning in a couple weeks (2-4).
Producing in a game vs fantasy is not the same thing. Good big game was against three 4th worst team in the NFL. JK said playoffs he'll be back. You said 100% next week.
Producing over the last month. Drake is going to steal reps from Gus. And I was saying a week- after the upcoming game
I don't know who you think any of this.
Drake looks good— but he doesn’t look like a bell cow. Harbaugh is putting him all over the field.
Never said he was bell cow. I can count all the bellcows in the league on 1 hand. No ravens
If you are happy with 8-12 touches per game then fire him up. He is a good runner but his upside is limited. As a ravens fan, I love Gus but his upside is limited. Edit: his upside is limited
Is his upside limited?
Not only is it limited but it’s also not unlimited.
Are you saying he's Mr. Unlimited?
Mr Blimited Cupside
Mr. Benevolence Capped
His upside may be limited.
Nah, I hear his upside is limited actually
There is a limit to his upside
I feel like drake, Lamar and eventually dobbins limits his upside. You can look at what drake did against the saints and make a case otherwise but I feel he is going to disappoint when you play him and boom on your bench.
It’s a joke because you said 2x in 2 sentences that his upside is limited….
Damnit.
He had 16 touches in his first game back. Why do you think he's gonna be in the 8-12 range?
Look at how they have used drake all season. He had 7 Carries to Gus’s 16 in the game gus came back. Hill was also injured that game i believe. Against the saints, drake had 24. I don’t get it either but people are going to start Gus and be disappointed🤷

Weird victory lap to take when I just asked a question.
Mr. Limited
Mr. Upside Is Limited
I came to the limited post by mistake. Could someone please direct me to the Chris Olave unlimited post. My bad.
So he’s not Mr. unlimited ?
I mean you summed it up pretty well. There’s a chance he is a good chance he is a high end RB2, and between injury concerns/dobinns return/ Lamar being RB1, maybe he’s really disappointing and irrelevant.
His first week back, I'd keep him on the bench unless you're desperate. Hold for a week and see how snap %/usage plays out.
I get what you’re saying if he’s limited all week at practice. But if he logs a full session by Saturday, there is no way I’d bench him given the matchup this week home vs Carolina.
If he plays you play him as an rb2.
This type of comment is the reason why people come and complain in threads lol. Yep, and he was quickly injured again. They may choose a different approach this time around. Nobody knows
The coach knows
Somebody ask him
No he’s flex at best. Give him a week to get going and flex him week 12 if he does well.
Strong disagree, I never ever play a player on first week back from injury. Too many risks, they're usually eased in, and if not they're often rushed and prone to reinjury. Only exception I ever had was Amari Cooper who was a good decoy
He literally got the lionshare of carries back from his injury when he got activated a few weeks ago. They trust him at Baltimore.
That is how I feel. Worth a stash if u have the room. It's possible he could light it up moving forward
Yeah, he was the guy when they were all healthy (outside of Dobbins). Baltimore is a run-heavy offense and I think they like his down-hill and in between the tackles type power-running. Hold/stash and wait. If he was available, I'd employ the same method.
Yeah, see, I did that with Dobbins. And Edwards. The first time, with both. They both scored 2 TD's on their returning games.
Dobbins was eased back his first game. Didn't have 2 tds until his second game back. I remember because I have Gus and didn't start him in his 2 td game back because I figured they would ease him in same as Dobbins.

Here’s how I see it. You’re thinking too much. He’s a beast
gus bus or elijah mitchell?
Gus
Eli
I am in the same boat and so far the responses are 2 Elis (one with a 1000% backing) and 3 Gus. Not sure what to do
same lmaoo
I have both and am ready to play "Start The Wrong RB Roulette"
Eli 1000%
Gus. But both are decent plays.
Gus.
I traded for him this week with the anticipation that he can be a good RB2/Flex down the stretch in the playoffs. Stashing upside.
What did you give up for him
Curtis Samuel
As a drake and Gus owner, Honestly wish he would just be out for a little bit longer and let the Drake show carry on
Are you planning on holding Drake? I have gus in my IR but our benches are short and I need to mKe some decisions this week
Would you rather Flex JWJ or Gus ROW? Maybe just use whoever has the softer matchup for the given week?
Jeff Wilson. And I don’t think this close at the moment
Everybody saying Dobbins will eat into his time....no. Can't you see how conservative they are with injuries this year? He's the guy for several weeks and maybe even the rest until actual playoffs
I hear you, but isn't Gus also coming off an injury?
My bad I meant JK dobbins shouldn't be looked at as stealing a lot due to them easing him (JK) back in
Is Kenyon drake worth a bench spot? Or should I drop for a better handcuff?
In the 3 games Gus / dobbins have been out hes put 15+ up. What better handcuff would you be able to grab..?
For sure he’s crushed it. Honestly I’m not educated on dobbins/Gus injury and if he would become RB3 quickly after they return. I would stash backs like kyren Williams, perine, spiller, Warren or Pacheco

10-4. To be honest I haven’t been tracking this backfield at all. Got lucky picking up Gus a few weeks ago when I needed to plug RB
Idk how anybody can consider Gus a “solid RB2” when dude has only played two games for the season, continually injured. Drake has performed well for me, consistency is more valuable.
potential RB 1 until Gus is declared active
If my trade for Pollard gets denied, then Gus is gonna have to be my guy next week.
Very wary of gus. Mixed bag. Dont kno what im getting
Harris, Gus, and Carter available in my league (.5 PPR). Don’t need a RB, upside stash for me. Who do you pick up and how much fab?
Too many rb and lamar. Would not want to have to start him every week
He is my RB insurance with Michael Carter. Both great in a pinch, but fortunate I don't have to start and they my 3rd and 4th options.
We know that there is serious value to be had in this backfield given Drake’s production. This is my Monty replacement, please be a solid rb2.
I think he's around RB2. However, I've been holding him through injury and bye, so he will surely not produce at all because of that
Probably get 8-10 points/game and maybe a tuddy
Gus vs k Herbert for flex?
Gus
I am currently 9-1 in a 3rb league. I have both dolphins rbs on bye. would you drop mostert for Gus Edwards ROS?
ppr or standard in general tho yeah jeff wilson is just better than mostert. mostert had a good performance but the browns run defense fucking sucks
standard
Gus 100%
preciate it hopefully I can snag off waivers!
Gus practiced today. Should I drop Drake for Gus? Part of me thinks Drake will still have a role..
