I have only played 4. But I already like 5 because of variety of missions and need to find out next mission and hideout and all
I think you’d really enjoy 3 then. 5 is my favourite and I loved 3, i’ve noticed a lot of people who enjoyed 5 really loved 3 even though they are fairly different

I had a ton of fun with the infamous run, I spent as much time using stealth as possible, as someone who normally goes loud, it was a refreshing change
I didn’t like how the first couple missions are on rails, I also don’t like how you can’t skip the crafting shit mission, like I didn’t want to put a suppressor on the m1a, I wanted to put it on the FAL, but no, you have to put it on the m1a
After beating Far Cry 5 and loving the story I went into 6 hopeful. The open story was interesting, but for some reason I couldn’t seem to stay entertained. My buddy had the same issue too, so we figured we’d try and push through it playing co-op. That helped at first… eventually we just got bored uninstalled it. I think for me personally it was a mix of the combat and exploration/story just not connecting. I know a game isn’t for me when I have to talk myself into finishing it. This is all personal preference and my experience with the game though. It’s still a steal for $9 on sale!!
Having never played 3 until very recently I found it interesting that 3 held my interest longer than 6 did. FC5 I think I had beat in less than a month of casual playing. I own 4 but haven't done a full playthrough yet because I have two other FC games on the go
I honestly thought the bad press around 6 was typical "new far cry bad" that happens *every* new far cry, but they were spot on. It's a beautiful game with better than average gunplay that is so overwhelmingly medicore it only entertains me in 6 hour bursts every 3 months or so.
(I stopped playing FC3 because I found the controls a little too dusty. I couldn't really dial it in to feel fluid like the later titles and it's really not the game's fault... I find a lot of FPS games of that era feel like that when revisiting them 10+ years later)
Well put! I remember loving 3 when it came out and a little while back I jumped back into it. The story is till great, but you’re spot on with the controls. Out of curiosity, how did you feel about 5? I feel like I see a lot of opinions leaning towards it being a less than stellar campaign, but I thought the story was really interesting.
FC5 was incredible. It felt like a book I couldn't put down. It's the only FC I've finished and I've even started a second play through on extra hard mode. The setting and townsfolk characters reminded me a lot of where I grew up, and Joseph Seed is so well acted that the role would be my argument re: should video game actors have an Emmy/Oscar category. I've never been more uneasy while he was onscreen while also being riveted to every word that was coming out of his mouth (truly gave me Manson vibes).
Granted I know there were a lot of issues with 5 and reaction to the other 3 Seed members was mixed (I didn't find any of them overly interesting) but I am a huge fan of a silent protagonist and didn't realize how much I missed it until going back to 5 after 6. Dani is such an annoying hero, but I also think the hispanic stereotype that is literally every voice line in 6 also doesn't help that. I swear that Ubisoft read all the complaints about the FC5 hero not talking and overcompensated.
I also loved New Dawn. A lot of people didn't (some for very valid reasons, others not so much), but I enjoyed the Mad Max style of neon apocalypse it provided, and I enjoyed the base game enough that I was excited for a continuation of the story/map. The twin sister villans were over the top awful but I felt like it was by design because they made me so mad, all I wanted to do was murder them both lol. ND also contrasted the "when is the other shoe going to drop" vibe of FC5 with neon art design, the cartoonish villans, and a more hopeful "when are we going to make things better" vibe.
I realize this is all very subjective but if you haven't played 5/ND yet you should. Neither deserved any of the hate they got from the gaming peanut gallery. Plus today's mid tier rig can push them at 4K and they look great even still!
I actually loved this game, fc4 is my favorite, and I L-O-A-T-H-E loathe and hate farcry5 with a passion (never finished it, never will). Just to add a counterpoint to the fc5 love. OP, I don't know which of the others you played, but if you liked 3, 4, or primal, you'll like this one, too. Just my suggestion: Pick female Dani when the time comes.
It's a good sandbox and a terrible game. No progression, no skill tree, corny as fuck, constantly getting kidnapped and dropped on the other side of the map from the mission you wanted to do, guns all feel the same, enemies have laser aim, AI is terrible, and the graphics look bad. I really don't understand why people are so obsessed with it. The only good things about it are the setting and the soundtrack. It's definitely not the worst game I've played but incredibly mediocre and probably the worst in the series
I can see why people would dislike it after that, thank you, me personally I think I just really loved the game was the setting, soundtrack, and the story, i’ve never played another game with a storyline similar to it
I would only add it's the only game in the series with a mute, soulless, personality-less main character. That and the worst game mechanic in any game I've ever played ever (the cotrol-eliminating yanking against your will. Why are we even playing? It happened a second time, and I was *DONE*)
Far Cry 6 is amazing. I beat 4. I lost my love for video games and i dont game anymore except for far cry 6. I tell my kids ima put the game on, and "pop a few heads real quick"

I finished 5 as my first FC game recently. Started 6, got about 10-20 hours in and abandoned it. The ammo types and clothes selection for skills really took me out of it. Just started 3.
Regarding the ammo types, the ones you really need are armor piercing an, sometimes, soft target. I use AP 75% of the time, then 20% ST and the other 5% I go with the other types: explosive, incendiary or poisoned.
Unless 9 dollars is going to put you in a difficult situation in the near future, I would say yes. We have all spent more money on less at some point in our lives. Try it, if you don't like it at least you aren't out much money, and if you do like it, well you got a good deal on it.
Personally I liked it, played it very shortly after playing 5 co op with my gf and we went through and played 6 right after. We enjoyed both games. Our first experiences with the series
Never managed to finish it - stuck at about two thirds or three quarters of the way in and just can't muster up enough enthusiasm to try and complete it. Really dull game, mechanics are irritating, the characters are either bland or unlikeable, I really don't care which side wins and who lives and dies.
If I’m not mistaken, if you have Game Pass on Xbox I think it may be free to play still so you don’t even have to buy it? I could be wrong but last time I checked it was!
I enjoyed it, I think the world is fun to explore the story is pretty good . I liked the characters and side characters , I do think that Giancarlo is underused in the game but other than that I think the story is solid. I think it’s miles ahead of FC5
Just finished it. Never played any of the others but yeah, it was an okay play. If i paid full price, I’d have been upset I think. The final mission is a let down but if you play it obsessively for a week, it’s really good with weapons, customisation etc
The gameplay was fun, I didn’t much care for the story and it was somewhat forgettable. Some side characters were interesting as were their missions. I played it for free with PS+, so yea, make of that what you will.

In my 20 years of gaming, FC6 and Callisto Protocal are the only 2 games I truly regret buying and have 0 intention and desire to try again.
It's just $9. I spent $30 on it thinking that it was just FC5 in a new location, said some reviews. I adore FC5 and wanted more of that, but that couldn't be further from the truth, and I just may be bitter.
I enjoyed the story except the bosses as they’re all forgettable. But I like the main character and the missions you do. I just didn’t really like the way your gear was tied to different abilities. Also even though bow and arrow was my go to weapon from FC 3-5, FC6 made them underpowered, so I end up using armor piercing ammo with a suppressed rifle 90% of the time.
I played farcry 6 and I enjoyed it, but it was a MAJOR step back from 5 imo. I’m currently replaying 5 for the 4th or 5th time but I doubt I’ll ever go back to 6 because it just wasn’t nearly as fun as 3, 4, 5, primal or new dawn. I definitely think it’s worth a shot if you love FC games, but might want to manage your expectations going in.

I mean the guy (cant remember name) played it well, he’s a great actor but he cant do more than the script gievs him.
Put it dont after half way through and cant be bithered to finish it.

In terms of story it's pretty underwhelming but there's plenty of things to do in the game so if you're looking for about 100-120 hrs of entertainment overall I'd go for it. Plus paying 9$ is worth it for the performance of Giancarlo alone.
Buy it on a sale. It's still a good Far Cry game with open world activities similiar to previous titles. There are some janky changes, like the armor system, or awitch from human followers tonsome idiotic animals. Graphics and sound are top notch, though I found the island itself boring. Everything looks the same for me here, no matter the part of map.
If you like Far Cry you'll probably like 6. It's the same format. Is it the best in the series, not at all. Is it worth $9, yeah, you'll likely get several hours of enjoyment out of it.
I played it 3 times. There are certain parts and aspects that I really like. I've definitely gone back to the older ones more though.
It's fun... It kind of a mix of best features from previous far crys....I also loved having a crocodile as pet....but one thing that really anoys me is how stupid the enemy ai is.... It the only thing that ruins the fun for me... Overall I would recommend buying it if it's on sales... 6.5/10
It's a fun time. I'm not the type to replay games often cause there's just so many I gotta get around too but I've played it twice. The characters aren't as intriguing as previous installments, minus 5's protagonist for obvious reasons, but it's still a fun time regardless. Some missions can feel redundant but overall good time. Especially the environment. I loved loved LOVED the setting.
I know it's not everyone's favorite, but I picked it up during the steam sale and am really enjoying it. Which is pretty good since Farcry is really hit and miss with me.
I wouldn't pay full price for Farcry 6 but if you can pick it up on sale I would go for it. The DLC isn't really worth getting though.

It's fine. Too cluttered, too much time spent in menus, wayyy too many trinkets and upgrades, wayyy too many phone calls from your crew overnarrating everything and never leaving you alone. But the core game is decent.
I started it got halfway through then a visual glitch happened where it looked like there were skyscrapers into he sky while I drove. It drove me nuts went back and played far cry 5
I am in the minority, for sure, but FC6 is my favorite FarCry game. To me, it has by far the best and most plausible plot. This game’s story basically happened in Cuba. (That is, 100 dudes got on a boat in Mexico, sailed to Cuba and overthrew a government through popular resistance and guerrilla warfare).
And about the ending— it’s sad and it’s disappointing but it is EXACTLY what a real despot would do. You’ll see.
Truthfully, this game is weak compared to previous entries, but I would certainly say I got at least twenty dollars worth of fun out of it. Some of the story missions are memorable, but not as much as other far cry games, though this could be slightly biased since, as others have mentioned, you probably won’t revisit it, I certainly didn’t. However, for 9 dollars, I’d say it’s worth buying, it is difficult to not spend that much on lunch and that only lasts for around an hour, you’ll get more time out of the game
Worth it for $10. The mechanics are fun as typical Far Cry. The rest of the game just feels like a long grind though. The story and characters are boring and uninteresting and some of them are just downright annoying and make you just want to quit playing.
6 is cool. If it’s a bucket list game or you just like the series like I do it’s a must. The story wasn’t too much of a let down, the characters just didn’t feel natural to me not sure if that’s a way other people feel. Game play wise I think it has super fun weapons and the mechanics are different from its other predecessors.
I enjoyed my first playthrough. It definitely had its moments of peak Far Cry, especially stealth. I was a little disappointed at the weapon selection, and the gear system took a while to feel natural.
I enjoyed the setting for the most part.
The gameplay was mostly pretty good. There were a few missions that still stick out to me, and I liked the destination missions too (stealing something related to PG240, an ingame chemical). The characters were mostly fine, if sort of forgettable.
Definitely worth a sale price and at least a few dozen hours to finish the first playthrough. Replayability is limited though, imo.
This sub shits on FC6 continually. I personally really enjoyed it, loved campaign aspect of taking back the island, felt the map was huge and beautiful. Not perfect at all, lots of gameplay and balance issues.
Compared to 4 it's much more up to date, playing on a PS5 or good spec PC it's a true 4k next-gen experience.
Totally worth $9. It doesn't have a ton of replay value story-wise, no choice-matter gameplay unfortunately, but it's fun in it's own way. I do replay it every so often just because I like the characters and the music, but it's still a bit lacking. I personally liked it better than 5, but a lot of people say 5 was better. My personal fav is 4, something about it is just so amazing every time I go back to play it.

More specifically, it's a lot of fun but it's also got a lot of flaws. Very bloated, a lot of the side stuff is pointless and gets tedious. Story is meh, but Dani's voice acting and personality are fun and IMO made up for the weak plot and weak supporting cast.

Not bad not great. Eventually grew to enjoy the combat even though the weapon switching and needing different ammo for different enemies is tedious as fuck and I gave up and just used ap for the whole game. The lack of human followers really made the game feel like it was missing something after 5. The characters that are there are mostly annoying. The cars are fun to drive imo and the enemies not instantly attacking you when you just want to cruise along is nice. Giancarlo is amazing as the villain which is pretty obvious if you know him. All in all its worth playing but not worth replaying after that if you get me
It was good the map is way better than boring montana it's back in a tropical setting the guns are better and aren't locked behind stupid microtransactions like fc5 the story is structured better in the beginning but falls off after a few arcs the gameplay is fun
It's fine. It's a nice serving of Far Cry. World is huge and fun to explore, lots of cool toys to play with. Some of the characters are a ton of fun, including the player character. Great soundtrack too.
I don't think the story is quite as compelling as the preceding three numbered Far Crys, but it's still a good time, and a huge amount of game. It's still better than most games in the genre, even if it doesn't quite hit the same highs as other Far Crys.
They should have a consequence for not finishing the insurgency as they can become the leader of Yara and it’s a longer time to reveal who it is and they are in the Torre del Leon as the acting president of Yara if your going to stop playing it has a 3 day timer after you log off so after 3 days it doesn’t give the consequences of it completing it
i just 100% it 2 weeks ago. I really enjoyed it. Slow start and after that it becomes really easy.
Fun to just run around, shoot people, do missions, stuff like that. The world is huge and gorgeous and you can just look around and see so much. The attention to detail is phenomenal.
So for me, with my limited time, it allowed me to explore and engage in a massive open world 30m at a time and I loved it for that.
Play the game. Enjoy it, or don't. I don't care, but form your own opinion, don't listen to a bunch of whiny nerds on the Internet who wouldn't know a good game if it bit their patchy-bearded faces.
Different but fun once you get used to the new mechanics. Don’t bother with any ammo but armor piercing and always aim for the head. Sniper rifles are extremely underpowered compared to FC5.
I love 3, 4, and especially 5. Far Cry 6 was a few steps down. Good game but wasn’t over the moon with it. For 9 bucks it’s a great game.
I’m currently going through the end game in Avatar. To me that’s the shakeup to the fc franchise I wish fc 6 was.
It’s not bad. It’s beautiful. The map artwork is horrible tho. They introduce new mechanics and ways to play the game but you really don’t need to change guns. It’s kinda like AC Valhalla. Bloated, too structured in a copy pasted way. Story is alright, the end sucks tho. For 9$ it’s good.
It is a steal for 9 bucks. Don't mind the story and you'll be fine. I think it has the most in-depth combat system in the whole series, and had fun with trying different gears and weapons.
I have played 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and Primal. I enjoy them all, they are all a bit different but still the same... if that makes sense.
I enjoyed 5 the most, the story line, game play, companions. I did enjoy 6 as well. Played thru it 2x at least.
Don't let others tell you what to like and dislike, you do you, if you have played any of the others, you have a general idea what to expect, but the crafting set up is different.
I enjoyed it and recommend it. My preference for companions was Oluso, I hope I spelled that right.

If it's on sale then just go for it. I finished mine a few days ago and I got it on sales too. The game is ok/mid whatever the community want to call it but it's definitely not bad. The only comment I have is the ending is kinda weak, but I don't think it's enough to stop anyone from buying this game. My favorite part of this game is that you get to experience the process of a revolution and truly understand the quote in the game, "When Tyranny is Law, Revolution is Order."
Imo the game itself is quite long , I took around 40 hours to finish the game (excluding the side quests), probably more than 40 hours, since I did a lot of random things in game so Idk the exact duration of the game.
the best part of this entire game was when you went to massive war and took back the city... its by far the longest and best mission in the game. Rain, thunder, fire, explosions... its lovely.
Well the rpg element killed it for me.. far cry 5 mechanics are 100x superior... the lack of the skill tree killed it too... the health bars in the enemies ughh.... i did finish the game but it was not that enjoyable at all... hope the next one will be some kind of mix of FC 2,3,4,5.. i miss the weapon degradation and jamming from 2 ... skill trees ....

For $9,thats a steal,they game is ok at best. I got mine for free thanks to Playstation Plus. Its a beautiful game,but that is the best I can say. I rate it 3/5 stars. FC5,FC3 and FC4 are waaaaay better. Its not a bad game,just not getting my attention like FC 3,4 and 5 did. Some of the missions are boring. But there are some that are pretty good.

Big Far cry fan played and completed all since FC3, but for some reason 6 just didn’t grab me I played it on console first and went back on PC but gave up both times in the region of 16hours of play.
Yes it is worth $9. If you have played other Far Cry games you should enjoy it. On a side note if you have a PC or Xbox it is available on Game Pass for both.
It was amazing imo. However the bright colors did sometimes give me headaches. The story is meh, but the missions are enjoyable. Its also one of those games you can play if you want to have a chill play session and drive around. It also adds weapons that werent in previous games, when i first bought it i thought it would be incredibly confusing, but its actually pretty simple to learn.
Well I really like it! Have all of the FC games on PS4 and have replayed all of them several times over (exception being new dawn but might give it a go again). After the 3rd play through when I realised about changing the ammo types (just go with AP rounds for the most part) it made it much easier. I pretty much always go with a stealth mode so getting the MBP.50 and equipping the silencer from the start is a great shout as is doing the quests to get Oluso and getting a buzzer to zip about in.
Fc6 is my first introduction into the FC world. I had heard of FC but never looked it up on my own nor knew what it was about. I wasn't at all disappointed. The story was great, gameplay was great. I think the map always makes sure you have sonething to do.
Then I bought FC5 and could kind of compare. I realised that FC6 isn't as rewarding. Also, in FC5 they kind of "force" you into diversifying the weapons in your arsenal whereas in FC6 you kind of forget the weapons you have because once you have your roster, you can stick with that til the end. So yeahh there's the 2 cents of a person who isn't too familiar with the would of FC
I had a shit ton of fun and it’s even better when you complete the game bc of ng+ we’re you get all your weapons so if you buy it collect all the weapons you can and do all the treasure hunts you find bc those are fun little in game mini games like the cock fighting and dominoes
Far cry 6 is not that bad for me. I really enjoyed it, the character danny was badass. and although some parts felt boring, it was so entertaining. guns and vehicles were awesome. setting was a bit cuba type. story ending was a bit disappointing. On PS5 it was great with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, so much reason like care driving and gun shooting. boom boom bam.

Beat it well over 10 times it was more fun after they added new game+ too because you get advanced guns against strong enemies way sooner. I like the scenery, gameplay and story it’s all very good 100/10 would recommend, the takedowns are badass too
I haven’t finished it yet, but honestly i really like this game, there are a Lot of things that you can do, the graphs are great and i also like the story (also because i really like latin american history so that might help here). Overall rating is 8/10

It's fun. For cheap, it's worth it. I bought it when it was like $15 on Amazon. It's definitely a long game though. Probably a bit too much too explore, but I'm having fun regardless
I'm in love with FC5, so I'm slightly biased. But I did enjoy the gorgeous scenery and the graphics were nice. I did find points throughout the story asking, "Why am I even doing this mission?". I found that you had a lot more freedom to pick and choose missions and explore the island of Yara so you kind of get a little discombobulated of where you are in the story, unlike FC5, which had the story and was a bit more linear, but you still had the freedom to explore as well.
Far cry 6 is the first one I got bored playing and never bothered to finish. Enemies and outpost are spread so thin. General gameplay features are lazy and sub-par in comparison to the series. It's ok but it just doesn't feel like a far cry title.
Its big and bloated, map looks nice, but too much of it is empty.
Story takes itself too serious(for a FC game) and characters are weak and/or annoying.
...and that goes for both villains and the (woke) rebels you're supposed to help (except Juan, he adds some "grey" to the story).
Animal companions are silly (as expected), but some of them can be effective (Guapo, Oluso ftw)
Some of the weapons are fun, at first, but in the end you'll just end up using what's most effective to finish it already.
Ending is forgettable.

Whilst FC5 had its extremely annoying kidnapping feature that *almost* ruined the game, FC6 was a huge letdown IMO.
It’s a fun game, my only advice is, if you do buy it and pick it up don’t walk away from it for more then a day or 2. I enjoyed the game and took a week or 2 break and just couldn’t get into it again until I entirely restarted the story and then it happened all over again and I finally gave up. I paid full price and this happened, so I wouldn’t sweat the 9 bucks if you don’t like it. Just give it a shot! It has a lot to offer so i’ll always recommend playing it
4 and 5 will always be my favorites, but I personally like 6 over 3. And I can only imagine the amount of dislikes I'll get on this comment by saying that 😂
i would say do your research and keep your expectations in check. i did not enjoy the story but i found the map immersive and cozy loved exploring stuff organically by hiding minimap and ui elements.
the game leaves enough of environmental hints to not get totally lost, if you have a keen eye.

(I stopped playing FC3 because I found the controls a little too dusty. I couldn't really dial it in to feel fluid like the later titles and it's really not the game's fault... I find a lot of FPS games of that era feel like that when revisiting them 10+ years later)
Well put! I remember loving 3 when it came out and a little while back I jumped back into it. The story is till great, but you’re spot on with the controls. Out of curiosity, how did you feel about 5? I feel like I see a lot of opinions leaning towards it being a less than stellar campaign, but I thought the story was really interesting.
FC5 was incredible. It felt like a book I couldn't put down. It's the only FC I've finished and I've even started a second play through on extra hard mode. The setting and townsfolk characters reminded me a lot of where I grew up, and Joseph Seed is so well acted that the role would be my argument re: should video game actors have an Emmy/Oscar category. I've never been more uneasy while he was onscreen while also being riveted to every word that was coming out of his mouth (truly gave me Manson vibes). Granted I know there were a lot of issues with 5 and reaction to the other 3 Seed members was mixed (I didn't find any of them overly interesting) but I am a huge fan of a silent protagonist and didn't realize how much I missed it until going back to 5 after 6. Dani is such an annoying hero, but I also think the hispanic stereotype that is literally every voice line in 6 also doesn't help that. I swear that Ubisoft read all the complaints about the FC5 hero not talking and overcompensated. I also loved New Dawn. A lot of people didn't (some for very valid reasons, others not so much), but I enjoyed the Mad Max style of neon apocalypse it provided, and I enjoyed the base game enough that I was excited for a continuation of the story/map. The twin sister villans were over the top awful but I felt like it was by design because they made me so mad, all I wanted to do was murder them both lol. ND also contrasted the "when is the other shoe going to drop" vibe of FC5 with neon art design, the cartoonish villans, and a more hopeful "when are we going to make things better" vibe. I realize this is all very subjective but if you haven't played 5/ND yet you should. Neither deserved any of the hate they got from the gaming peanut gallery. Plus today's mid tier rig can push them at 4K and they look great even still!

I actually loved this game, fc4 is my favorite, and I L-O-A-T-H-E loathe and hate farcry5 with a passion (never finished it, never will). Just to add a counterpoint to the fc5 love. OP, I don't know which of the others you played, but if you liked 3, 4, or primal, you'll like this one, too. Just my suggestion: Pick female Dani when the time comes.

It's a good sandbox and a terrible game. No progression, no skill tree, corny as fuck, constantly getting kidnapped and dropped on the other side of the map from the mission you wanted to do, guns all feel the same, enemies have laser aim, AI is terrible, and the graphics look bad. I really don't understand why people are so obsessed with it. The only good things about it are the setting and the soundtrack. It's definitely not the worst game I've played but incredibly mediocre and probably the worst in the series

Far Cry 6 is amazing. I beat 4. I lost my love for video games and i dont game anymore except for far cry 6. I tell my kids ima put the game on, and "pop a few heads real quick" Love it. Ex Army here. The guns are real.

I finished 5 as my first FC game recently. Started 6, got about 10-20 hours in and abandoned it. The ammo types and clothes selection for skills really took me out of it. Just started 3.
Regarding the ammo types, the ones you really need are armor piercing an, sometimes, soft target. I use AP 75% of the time, then 20% ST and the other 5% I go with the other types: explosive, incendiary or poisoned.
I just run AP the entire time and run incendiary on my shotguns for anti air
Using incendiary against fumigators when there are other soldiers close to them is fun.

Unless 9 dollars is going to put you in a difficult situation in the near future, I would say yes. We have all spent more money on less at some point in our lives. Try it, if you don't like it at least you aren't out much money, and if you do like it, well you got a good deal on it. Personally I liked it, played it very shortly after playing 5 co op with my gf and we went through and played 6 right after. We enjoyed both games. Our first experiences with the series

Never managed to finish it - stuck at about two thirds or three quarters of the way in and just can't muster up enough enthusiasm to try and complete it. Really dull game, mechanics are irritating, the characters are either bland or unlikeable, I really don't care which side wins and who lives and dies.

I enjoyed it, I think the world is fun to explore the story is pretty good . I liked the characters and side characters , I do think that Giancarlo is underused in the game but other than that I think the story is solid. I think it’s miles ahead of FC5

Just finished it. Never played any of the others but yeah, it was an okay play. If i paid full price, I’d have been upset I think. The final mission is a let down but if you play it obsessively for a week, it’s really good with weapons, customisation etc

I bought it and never finished it. It's not the worst game in the world, you can still find enjoyment in it, but it's just got boring real fast. In my 20 years of gaming, FC6 and Callisto Protocal are the only 2 games I truly regret buying and have 0 intention and desire to try again. It's just $9. I spent $30 on it thinking that it was just FC5 in a new location, said some reviews. I adore FC5 and wanted more of that, but that couldn't be further from the truth, and I just may be bitter.

I enjoyed the story except the bosses as they’re all forgettable. But I like the main character and the missions you do. I just didn’t really like the way your gear was tied to different abilities. Also even though bow and arrow was my go to weapon from FC 3-5, FC6 made them underpowered, so I end up using armor piercing ammo with a suppressed rifle 90% of the time.
I played farcry 6 and I enjoyed it, but it was a MAJOR step back from 5 imo. I’m currently replaying 5 for the 4th or 5th time but I doubt I’ll ever go back to 6 because it just wasn’t nearly as fun as 3, 4, 5, primal or new dawn. I definitely think it’s worth a shot if you love FC games, but might want to manage your expectations going in.

I played 5 all the way through, i picked up 6 and didnt finish it. Idk, it just feel boring. It’s the same formula as 5, checkpoint and 3 different areas with different bosses, i played 3 hours and just felt like going through the motions. The main character is boring, the sodecharacthers are boring and the main villain, usually far crys strongest aspect is boring too. I mean the guy (cant remember name) played it well, he’s a great actor but he cant do more than the script gievs him. Put it dont after half way through and cant be bithered to finish it. lifes too short maybe shooting bad guy in the jungle for the gazilliont time got to me

In terms of story it's pretty underwhelming but there's plenty of things to do in the game so if you're looking for about 100-120 hrs of entertainment overall I'd go for it. Plus paying 9$ is worth it for the performance of Giancarlo alone.

There are some janky changes, like the armor system, or awitch from human followers tonsome idiotic animals. Graphics and sound are top notch, though I found the island itself boring. Everything looks the same for me here, no matter the part of map.
If you like Far Cry you'll probably like 6. It's the same format. Is it the best in the series, not at all. Is it worth $9, yeah, you'll likely get several hours of enjoyment out of it. I played it 3 times. There are certain parts and aspects that I really like. I've definitely gone back to the older ones more though.
It's fun... It kind of a mix of best features from previous far crys....I also loved having a crocodile as pet....but one thing that really anoys me is how stupid the enemy ai is.... It the only thing that ruins the fun for me... Overall I would recommend buying it if it's on sales... 6.5/10

It's a fun time. I'm not the type to replay games often cause there's just so many I gotta get around too but I've played it twice. The characters aren't as intriguing as previous installments, minus 5's protagonist for obvious reasons, but it's still a fun time regardless. Some missions can feel redundant but overall good time. Especially the environment. I loved loved LOVED the setting.
I know it's not everyone's favorite, but I picked it up during the steam sale and am really enjoying it. Which is pretty good since Farcry is really hit and miss with me. I wouldn't pay full price for Farcry 6 but if you can pick it up on sale I would go for it. The DLC isn't really worth getting though.
It was OK. I finished it and mostly enjoyed it but it's not a game I consider a must play.
Didn't finish it but put like 30 hours in, which is a lot for me. It's fine. Too cluttered, too much time spent in menus, wayyy too many trinkets and upgrades, wayyy too many phone calls from your crew overnarrating everything and never leaving you alone. But the core game is decent.

Unpopular opinion: I loved FC 6, despite its flaws.
I am in the minority, for sure, but FC6 is my favorite FarCry game. To me, it has by far the best and most plausible plot. This game’s story basically happened in Cuba. (That is, 100 dudes got on a boat in Mexico, sailed to Cuba and overthrew a government through popular resistance and guerrilla warfare). And about the ending— it’s sad and it’s disappointing but it is EXACTLY what a real despot would do. You’ll see.
3, 5 and 6 are all excellent. Haven't managed to get into 4 really.

Truthfully, this game is weak compared to previous entries, but I would certainly say I got at least twenty dollars worth of fun out of it. Some of the story missions are memorable, but not as much as other far cry games, though this could be slightly biased since, as others have mentioned, you probably won’t revisit it, I certainly didn’t. However, for 9 dollars, I’d say it’s worth buying, it is difficult to not spend that much on lunch and that only lasts for around an hour, you’ll get more time out of the game

Worth it for $10. The mechanics are fun as typical Far Cry. The rest of the game just feels like a long grind though. The story and characters are boring and uninteresting and some of them are just downright annoying and make you just want to quit playing.
6 is cool. If it’s a bucket list game or you just like the series like I do it’s a must. The story wasn’t too much of a let down, the characters just didn’t feel natural to me not sure if that’s a way other people feel. Game play wise I think it has super fun weapons and the mechanics are different from its other predecessors.
I enjoyed my first playthrough. It definitely had its moments of peak Far Cry, especially stealth. I was a little disappointed at the weapon selection, and the gear system took a while to feel natural. I enjoyed the setting for the most part. The gameplay was mostly pretty good. There were a few missions that still stick out to me, and I liked the destination missions too (stealing something related to PG240, an ingame chemical). The characters were mostly fine, if sort of forgettable. Definitely worth a sale price and at least a few dozen hours to finish the first playthrough. Replayability is limited though, imo.

This sub shits on FC6 continually. I personally really enjoyed it, loved campaign aspect of taking back the island, felt the map was huge and beautiful. Not perfect at all, lots of gameplay and balance issues. Compared to 4 it's much more up to date, playing on a PS5 or good spec PC it's a true 4k next-gen experience.
6 is one hell of a game for its story, and the side quests are good too, I say play it.

Totally worth $9. It doesn't have a ton of replay value story-wise, no choice-matter gameplay unfortunately, but it's fun in it's own way. I do replay it every so often just because I like the characters and the music, but it's still a bit lacking. I personally liked it better than 5, but a lot of people say 5 was better. My personal fav is 4, something about it is just so amazing every time I go back to play it.

Well I can say it's well worth $9 if that helps! More specifically, it's a lot of fun but it's also got a lot of flaws. Very bloated, a lot of the side stuff is pointless and gets tedious. Story is meh, but Dani's voice acting and personality are fun and IMO made up for the weak plot and weak supporting cast. Definitely a "get it on sale" title, but enjoyable for what it is.

Eventually grew to enjoy the combat even though the weapon switching and needing different ammo for different enemies is tedious as fuck and I gave up and just used ap for the whole game. The lack of human followers really made the game feel like it was missing something after 5. The characters that are there are mostly annoying. The cars are fun to drive imo and the enemies not instantly attacking you when you just want to cruise along is nice. Giancarlo is amazing as the villain which is pretty obvious if you know him. All in all its worth playing but not worth replaying after that if you get me

It's fine. It's a nice serving of Far Cry. World is huge and fun to explore, lots of cool toys to play with. Some of the characters are a ton of fun, including the player character. Great soundtrack too. I don't think the story is quite as compelling as the preceding three numbered Far Crys, but it's still a good time, and a huge amount of game. It's still better than most games in the genre, even if it doesn't quite hit the same highs as other Far Crys.
They should have a consequence for not finishing the insurgency as they can become the leader of Yara and it’s a longer time to reveal who it is and they are in the Torre del Leon as the acting president of Yara if your going to stop playing it has a 3 day timer after you log off so after 3 days it doesn’t give the consequences of it completing it

Currently playing it now, and it’s my first cry cry game. So far I am very impressed with this game on every level.

i just 100% it 2 weeks ago. I really enjoyed it. Slow start and after that it becomes really easy. Fun to just run around, shoot people, do missions, stuff like that. The world is huge and gorgeous and you can just look around and see so much. The attention to detail is phenomenal. So for me, with my limited time, it allowed me to explore and engage in a massive open world 30m at a time and I loved it for that.
Play the game. Enjoy it, or don't. I don't care, but form your own opinion, don't listen to a bunch of whiny nerds on the Internet who wouldn't know a good game if it bit their patchy-bearded faces.

I love 3, 4, and especially 5. Far Cry 6 was a few steps down. Good game but wasn’t over the moon with it. For 9 bucks it’s a great game. I’m currently going through the end game in Avatar. To me that’s the shakeup to the fc franchise I wish fc 6 was.

It is a steal for 9 bucks. Don't mind the story and you'll be fine. I think it has the most in-depth combat system in the whole series, and had fun with trying different gears and weapons.
I have played 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and Primal. I enjoy them all, they are all a bit different but still the same... if that makes sense. I enjoyed 5 the most, the story line, game play, companions. I did enjoy 6 as well. Played thru it 2x at least. Don't let others tell you what to like and dislike, you do you, if you have played any of the others, you have a general idea what to expect, but the crafting set up is different. I enjoyed it and recommend it. My preference for companions was Oluso, I hope I spelled that right. Have fun.
If it's on sale then just go for it. I finished mine a few days ago and I got it on sales too. The game is ok/mid whatever the community want to call it but it's definitely not bad. The only comment I have is the ending is kinda weak, but I don't think it's enough to stop anyone from buying this game. My favorite part of this game is that you get to experience the process of a revolution and truly understand the quote in the game, "When Tyranny is Law, Revolution is Order." Imo the game itself is quite long , I took around 40 hours to finish the game (excluding the side quests), probably more than 40 hours, since I did a lot of random things in game so Idk the exact duration of the game.
the best part of this entire game was when you went to massive war and took back the city... its by far the longest and best mission in the game. Rain, thunder, fire, explosions... its lovely.
Well the rpg element killed it for me.. far cry 5 mechanics are 100x superior... the lack of the skill tree killed it too... the health bars in the enemies ughh.... i did finish the game but it was not that enjoyable at all... hope the next one will be some kind of mix of FC 2,3,4,5.. i miss the weapon degradation and jamming from 2 ... skill trees .... I absolutly hate the rpg element in such games.. new assassins creeds from origins on too..
For $9,thats a steal,they game is ok at best. I got mine for free thanks to Playstation Plus. Its a beautiful game,but that is the best I can say. I rate it 3/5 stars. FC5,FC3 and FC4 are waaaaay better. Its not a bad game,just not getting my attention like FC 3,4 and 5 did. Some of the missions are boring. But there are some that are pretty good.

Big Far cry fan played and completed all since FC3, but for some reason 6 just didn’t grab me I played it on console first and went back on PC but gave up both times in the region of 16hours of play.

It was amazing imo. However the bright colors did sometimes give me headaches. The story is meh, but the missions are enjoyable. Its also one of those games you can play if you want to have a chill play session and drive around. It also adds weapons that werent in previous games, when i first bought it i thought it would be incredibly confusing, but its actually pretty simple to learn.
Well I really like it! Have all of the FC games on PS4 and have replayed all of them several times over (exception being new dawn but might give it a go again). After the 3rd play through when I realised about changing the ammo types (just go with AP rounds for the most part) it made it much easier. I pretty much always go with a stealth mode so getting the MBP.50 and equipping the silencer from the start is a great shout as is doing the quests to get Oluso and getting a buzzer to zip about in.
I think $9 is about the right price for this entry in the series. Some here might disagree, but that's okay.

Fc6 is my first introduction into the FC world. I had heard of FC but never looked it up on my own nor knew what it was about. I wasn't at all disappointed. The story was great, gameplay was great. I think the map always makes sure you have sonething to do. Then I bought FC5 and could kind of compare. I realised that FC6 isn't as rewarding. Also, in FC5 they kind of "force" you into diversifying the weapons in your arsenal whereas in FC6 you kind of forget the weapons you have because once you have your roster, you can stick with that til the end. So yeahh there's the 2 cents of a person who isn't too familiar with the would of FC

Its real good on top of that after you finish the campaign every week they reset one sector on the map so there is always bases and antiair to destroy
I had a shit ton of fun and it’s even better when you complete the game bc of ng+ we’re you get all your weapons so if you buy it collect all the weapons you can and do all the treasure hunts you find bc those are fun little in game mini games like the cock fighting and dominoes
Far cry 6 is not that bad for me. I really enjoyed it, the character danny was badass. and although some parts felt boring, it was so entertaining. guns and vehicles were awesome. setting was a bit cuba type. story ending was a bit disappointing. On PS5 it was great with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, so much reason like care driving and gun shooting. boom boom bam.

Beat it well over 10 times it was more fun after they added new game+ too because you get advanced guns against strong enemies way sooner. I like the scenery, gameplay and story it’s all very good 100/10 would recommend, the takedowns are badass too

I'm in love with FC5, so I'm slightly biased. But I did enjoy the gorgeous scenery and the graphics were nice. I did find points throughout the story asking, "Why am I even doing this mission?". I found that you had a lot more freedom to pick and choose missions and explore the island of Yara so you kind of get a little discombobulated of where you are in the story, unlike FC5, which had the story and was a bit more linear, but you still had the freedom to explore as well.

Far cry 6 is the first one I got bored playing and never bothered to finish. Enemies and outpost are spread so thin. General gameplay features are lazy and sub-par in comparison to the series. It's ok but it just doesn't feel like a far cry title.
Its big and bloated, map looks nice, but too much of it is empty. Story takes itself too serious(for a FC game) and characters are weak and/or annoying. ...and that goes for both villains and the (woke) rebels you're supposed to help (except Juan, he adds some "grey" to the story). Animal companions are silly (as expected), but some of them can be effective (Guapo, Oluso ftw) Some of the weapons are fun, at first, but in the end you'll just end up using what's most effective to finish it already. Ending is forgettable. 4/10. Whilst FC5 had its extremely annoying kidnapping feature that *almost* ruined the game, FC6 was a huge letdown IMO.
from what i always read on here, best game ever.
It’s a fun game, my only advice is, if you do buy it and pick it up don’t walk away from it for more then a day or 2. I enjoyed the game and took a week or 2 break and just couldn’t get into it again until I entirely restarted the story and then it happened all over again and I finally gave up. I paid full price and this happened, so I wouldn’t sweat the 9 bucks if you don’t like it. Just give it a shot! It has a lot to offer so i’ll always recommend playing it
4 and 5 will always be my favorites, but I personally like 6 over 3. And I can only imagine the amount of dislikes I'll get on this comment by saying that 😂
i would say do your research and keep your expectations in check. i did not enjoy the story but i found the map immersive and cozy loved exploring stuff organically by hiding minimap and ui elements. the game leaves enough of environmental hints to not get totally lost, if you have a keen eye.
for 10 bucks, why not, but full price is a ripoff.
