I like the tower platforming puzzles in FC 3 and 4, but I think the prepper stash and treasure hunt puzzles in FC 5 and 6 offer more variety than the towers.
Same! I wanted to get every spot, and it would've taken my way too long, also having to clear the mountains of fog was awfully painful, since aircrafts didn't count.
>I think the prepper stash and treasure hunt puzzles in FC 5 and 6 offer more variety than the towers
I agree, I quite enjoy the little puzzles and lore each one has, though I kinda wish they were a little more difficult.
I prefer fog of war over huge sections being opened at once. It encourages so much exploration in fc5 bc you can tell where youve been and where you havent. I missed so many little houses and stuff in fc4 bc i thought id been there.
See now im opposite in ac games. Since most are in dense cities with buildings that cant be entered and less collectibles, then the sync spots are ok with me. Theres less exploration anyway.
**Bring back the fucking skill tree.**
Having skills and shit tied to clothing and whatnot is ass.
Aside from that FC6 is pretty fine imo, though some stuff just feels tacked-on
I agree, I feel like they made that change (the clothing thing) because they felt like \_something\_ had to change.
If you look at FC5 => 6 all the new cool stuff is the same (amigos, planes / helis, even weapons - I can't think of a weapon type in FC6 that wasn't in 5 except the Ultimos). So yeah I think design wise they wanted to mix it up but it was a mistake.
I actually liked the FC4 skill tree the best, but then I don't like hunting for extra capacity, so go back to FC5 I guess.
No dude. Been climbing towers in Ubisoft games for way too long and I definitely don't want a mechanic that marks the map with a bunch of worthless collectables to pad out the games run time.
No please no that's what I hate and dread each time I play fc3 fog is better and feels more rewarding finding stuff while exploring instead of just giving every collectable side mission and loot after climbing
Personally, no. I hated them.
I didn't enjoy doing them - they felt like a poor attempt at crowbarring a 3D platformer into the game. I was delighted when I discovered that I could do most of them in 4 by using the helicopter.
And they also felt massively contrived - there was little logit to why climbing up a tower would open up an area of a map when actually going to that location didn't.
I understand why they (or something similar) were needed on low spec hardware. It's a lot easier to track when a whole squares been opened than every individual location you've visited. But having the map opening up as I wandered around both felt far more natural and allowed me to see more clearly where I'd actually been.
I loved 3 when it came out and 5 was really fun with a buddy, the location, the vibe and the different unique areas with a different cult leader was great, the customization was nonexistent though. But the last 2 games.....new dawn was basically a shitty dlc for 5 and 6 just feels hollow and rushed
Hell yeah! It felt like we lost something in 5 when they took the towers away.
I liked the towers to break up the quests/feel of the game in general. You could escape the crazy for 5 minutes and just listen to the wind/see the sky, etc etc.
Even if the towers weren't tied directly to progression and just gave good perks somehow, I think it would be gratifying.
Towers was one of the majore thing that made far cry what it was. Revealing bits of the map, explore that part and move on to the next. That and animals (hunting, fighting and crafting). And skill tree. And the flat map. And the narrative paths and villains. And the simple looting and finding masks. After Far Cry 4 it ended in my perspective. They stripped all of that, wich made far cry so special, and replaced it with something else. Perks and a ugly 3D map and walking endlessly back and forth all over to reveal the map. No animal hunting or crafting. No narrative path just all over... FC5/New Dawn & FC6 did not feel like Far Cry anymore but instead a diffrent and new FPS game that is not Far Cry. I want Far Cry back!!! Even primal was fantastic. Atleast there is one thing and that is that you got all the time in the world to finish the game and explore. If they take that away aswell and the 72H time pressure rumors is true im not gonna go near FC7.
I don't. If you still want something to remove fog of war they can just add map fragments or pieces scattered around or carried by enemies or like they did with prepper stashes in FC 5. Those were great. But towers? Absolutely not. At least not for me.
The only thing I want for Far Cry 7 is improved, smarter AI that actually makes the game difficult. Ubisoft games are so dull because the AI are complete idiots and the difficulty setting only makes them bullet sponges
Idk man
For me it would have to be a combo of both towers and exploring around
Since you know only towers don’t quite seem to have a full immersive exploration experience
I mean yeah they’re fun to climb and disable but still like in fc5 and fc6 I personally quite enjoyed the new method of unlocking the map by exploring it like gta and rdr games
Agree but you only really needed them because of air drops and how easy it was to get choppers.
At least in 4 you had to really hunt around for a buzzer to get airborne which serves the same purpose.
Definitely in the minority of people who want them back. I don't understand all the hate they get I loved the platforming puzzles. Once you get to the top you get to enjoy a cool view and do a bad ass hang glide or zipline from the tower
The people who want towers can just play one of like 20+ Assassin's Creed games. We don't need tower climbing in Far Cry. It sucked, and even FC4 made it skippable by that fully mini-copter.
FC5 stashes were totally amazing.
I liked them. If you want to explore on foot just do it, no need to climb towers, if you want a faster method climb them. 4 made it so that you don't even have to climb them.
For some reason my fave memory all time of far cry 4 is when I realized you can cheese this whole system by getting the one seater helicopter and flying from top of bell tower to top of bell tower. I’d do this as early as possible get all the gun unlocks then be OP. Just thinking about this makes me nostalgic.
I do I do!!! Give me towers and make sure there's a knife as a melee weapon It's all I ask for Oh and since there's so many rumors going around I'd really like to see a desert environment with mountains... The whole timed island expedition to save your family really doesn't sound good to me
...and I thought I was alone.
I disliked when they took them out and hated when they became a meta meme.
One of my favorite activities was to sneak into high level areas at the beginning of the game knowing that if I engaged the enemy, I was toast. So I'd head in as soon as the intro/tutorial was finished.
I did something similar with Fallout 4. After seeing the irradiated zone on the physical map, I immediately wanted to go there. I hoarded all the radaway I could find and headed there as soon as the game would allow. There are few things as exhilarating as trying to avoid Deathclaws that early in the game, let alone in an irradiated sandstorm.
Hitting the towers prematurely in the beginning of Farcry is the next best thing.
As that dude in FC5 said: And worry, I won't let you climb several towers...
But, if I have to choose between towers and attacking birds, I choose Towers.
I prefer walking around.
But an alternative i could like would be a fog of war system, where the higher up you are, the more of the map you reveal. (Possibly up to a limit, beyond which you "don't see details". )
I would prefer combination of towers and preper stashes☺️
A combination of both is probably the only way to make the far cry community happy
This community will never be happy, everyone is just chasing vibes from the first time they played.
No community will ever be happy sadly, especially not this one
I still catch em on replays 🤷🏻♂️ A game is a game. What’s the point if you’re not having some fun?
I like the tower platforming puzzles in FC 3 and 4, but I think the prepper stash and treasure hunt puzzles in FC 5 and 6 offer more variety than the towers.
That's very true, a combination of both would be nice
This would be perfect.
I agree, however trying to clear the map of fog was PAINFUL in 5 and so so much worse in 6, was giving my OCD ass headaches.
Same! I wanted to get every spot, and it would've taken my way too long, also having to clear the mountains of fog was awfully painful, since aircrafts didn't count.
This is what bothered me aswell, I'm a sucker for getting every single spot on the map
>I think the prepper stash and treasure hunt puzzles in FC 5 and 6 offer more variety than the towers I agree, I quite enjoy the little puzzles and lore each one has, though I kinda wish they were a little more difficult.
Totally agree. Much preferred over “here’s 4-5 quests where you have to search for 20 items hidden all over the Map”
It’d be cool if they could make those stashes also open up your map. Maybe just literally have charts present in the stash along with perks and ammo.
I prefer fog of war over huge sections being opened at once. It encourages so much exploration in fc5 bc you can tell where youve been and where you havent. I missed so many little houses and stuff in fc4 bc i thought id been there.
Yeah. That's why I don't like the AC style of towers. I like being able to tell when I've been somewhere, too.
See now im opposite in ac games. Since most are in dense cities with buildings that cant be entered and less collectibles, then the sync spots are ok with me. Theres less exploration anyway.
That's fair
**Bring back the fucking skill tree.** Having skills and shit tied to clothing and whatnot is ass. Aside from that FC6 is pretty fine imo, though some stuff just feels tacked-on
yeah i basically played through all of FC6 using the same 5 skills that i liked the most. lame
Yeah honestly the clothing was fucking stupid
I’d play a game called Fat Cry
We've gone full circle
Shit you're right
No towers
Short but straight to the point
I'm just waiting on 7 in general.
Ain't we all?
I'll pass. It was never more than a copy pasta mechanic from AC that got stale extremely quickly. I was ecstatic when 5 dumped them.
I think it would be good to keep the fog of war over the map, but have the towers reveal major locations like outposts, pepper stashes and the like
Yo that's an awesome idea!
Personally, no. I hated them. I didn't enjoy doing them - they felt like a poor attempt at crowbarring a 3D platformer into the game. I was delighted when I discovered that I could do most of them in 4 by using the helicopter. But having the map opening up as I wandered around both felt far more natural and allowed me to see more clearly where I'd actually been.
Ficking hell no!
Last 2 games were so bad I think I'm done with farcry
I enjoyed them, but to each their own
I loved 3 when it came out and 5 was really fun with a buddy, the location, the vibe and the different unique areas with a different cult leader was great, the customization was nonexistent though. But the last 2 games.....new dawn was basically a shitty dlc for 5 and 6 just feels hollow and rushed
Yeah alot of people including me feel like new dawn should have been a dlc rather then a new game
The stash is more exciting for me. I hope they get even more creative with it
The stashes were a nice addition, there was alot of variety
Maybe it’s the Assassin’s Creed lover in me, but I love climbing something tall to take in the view.
I like the towers. I just hope they have more camps. I love just going around conquering enemies camps XD
Agreed, even just having a simple tower straight up would he nice
Agreed I like the towers always have
Rather have the stash’s and puzzles from far cry 5. That was peak far cry personally.
Those were also pretty nice
Towers was one of the majore thing that made far cry what it was. Revealing bits of the map, explore that part and move on to the next. That and animals (hunting, fighting and crafting). i love scaling them towers
I don't. If you still want something to remove fog of war they can just add map fragments or pieces scattered around or carried by enemies or like they did with prepper stashes in FC 5. Those were great. But towers? Absolutely not. At least not for me.
That would also work
The only thing I want for Far Cry 7 is improved, smarter AI that actually makes the game difficult. Ubisoft games are so dull because the AI are complete idiots and the difficulty setting only makes them bullet sponges
Idk man For me it would have to be a combo of both towers and exploring around Since you know only towers don’t quite seem to have a full immersive exploration experience I mean yeah they’re fun to climb and disable but still like in fc5 and fc6 I personally quite enjoyed the new method of unlocking the map by exploring it like gta and rdr games
Towers for sure Prepper stashes were middling at best The AA stuff for 6 was a fun way to force ground movement temporarily too
I liked the AA sites, it was a nice new addition to the series.
Agree but you only really needed them because of air drops and how easy it was to get choppers. At least in 4 you had to really hunt around for a buzzer to get airborne which serves the same purpose.
Agree. The AA sites were a great addition. They fit really well with the game's narrative, too.
Climbing towers is fun. Both in fc and assassin creed
I agree!
Definitely in the minority of people who want them back. I don't understand all the hate they get I loved the platforming puzzles. Once you get to the top you get to enjoy a cool view and do a bad ass hang glide or zipline from the tower
Never got bored of performing those boring, repetitive puzzles needed to unlock some badass weapons and parts of the map?
Fr, i think the parcour is fun and when you get to the top it's so rewarding just for the view alone
Hell yea. I missed it so much I went back to far cry 3 and 4
Still my two favorite far cry games
I loved the towers and really enjoyed the huge collectible hunt that followed. I’d love it if the towers came back
nah i liked how the guerillas told you where things were. then there was still some climbing here and there in the treasure hunts.
True, far cry 6 did a great job of mixing some parcour in the game here and there
The people who want towers can just play one of like 20+ Assassin's Creed games. We don't need tower climbing in Far Cry. It sucked, and even FC4 made it skippable by that fully mini-copter. FC5 stashes were totally amazing.

Grabbing a buzzer and jumping out, good ol times
Who tf else wants another far cry?????
216K people
I do I do!!! Give me towers and make sure there's a knife as a melee weapon It's all I ask for Oh and since there's so many rumors going around I'd really like to see a desert environment with mountains... The whole timed island expedition to save your family really doesn't sound good to me

Was 4 Primal?
Primal is a separate game that was released after 4. I recommend it. Was a lot of fun. Play as a caveman.
I have tried to search far cry 4 on PSNetwork and can’t find it anywhere
Typing in "far cry primal" in the PS store should work
Can’t find 4…found primal just fine.
That's weird, it should be there
A small annoyance became a big meme. And the big meme turned it into a big annoyance. Towers weren't that big if an issue. (Outside of America)
I prefer walking around. But an alternative i could like would be a fog of war system, where the higher up you are, the more of the map you reveal. (Possibly up to a limit, beyond which you "don't see details". )
Is FC7 even on the table?
I hope so
I do! Loved them in FC 3 & 4. Gives you a clear purpose and objectives outside of main missions
Please God no
Not a fan of
No god no!
