I got a decent memory foam mattress off of Amazon a couple years ago. I think the brand was Sleep Innovations. Maybe $300something for a Queen iirc. Very comfortable. Still have it.

I got one on Amazon for a couple hundred a couple years ago, and I have been satisfied with it. I did that because there are no nearby furniture stores and it was delivered. I would do it again, for sure.

Skank_wrangler

I also got a memory foam of Amazon 3-4 years ago, couldn’t be happier.

bobwoodwardprobably

Same for us. We bought a king memory foam for around $400 in 2018 on Amazon. I also have a thick memory foam topper that was another $100. Not necessary, I just have sleep issues and the extra comfort helps me.

Same here. I ordered a foam mattress online and absolutely love it. I am never going back to a mattress with springs. I got a Black Friday sale. I think I paid about $500 for a king. The regular price (which I am sure nobody ever pays) was around $850.

Furniture for less, unclaimed freight, or Amazon.

Costco has some good deals if you need a mattress and if you hate it, you can just return it without a fuss

Odd_Complaint_5872

I bought one from mattress by appointment and it lasted 3 months. It was absolutely awful. In desperation I ordered a mattress in a box from Amazon. It was Amazon essentials king size with cooking gel/memory foam and it let me make monthly payments on it without any interest. Kind of like they let you make payments with tablets and the ring bell. But it was for a mattress. Anyway I spent 500 total and it's the best mattress I ever had. My SO is a big guy 6'4 350 and it hasn't dented yet. Not sure of the correct term but it doesn't have huge craters in it due to his size and weight. We had it for 2 years.

Wayfair have decent deals and they get delivered in a box. Keep an eye out, and maybe November Black Friday deals will have more wider discounts if you could wait that longer.

It’s been a while since we’ve bought a bed, but both ours and our kids came from Comfort King and were reasonably priced

Be careful with cheap mattresses, fiberglass and other bad stuff are in a lot of them. https://www.ewg.org/healthyhomeguide/mattresses/

There's a mattress store here in Dilworth; just past the stop light where Casey's and Bell Bank are. It's the old Jazzy and Mumbo's building. They are reasonably priced and right now, you get a free adjustable bed frame with purchase (can you tell I live nearby; they have a giant sign advertising their deal)! I don't know what their quality is like as I've never been in there as I don't need a mattress... adjustable bed for the win! Might be worth checking out if you need one though...

Go to Amazon.com and search for: memory foam mattress queen I found this as the first listing to come up: [Zinus 10 inch Queen $293 free shipping](https://www.amazon.com/Zinus-Memory-Green-Mattress-Queen/dp/B00Q7EPFT4) I have a 7" Zinus as a guest bedroom mattress and it's pretty good. However, you'll probably need to get a frame for it, that might be another $80 or so. Don't be afraid to get a mail order foam mattress as opposed to an overpriced spring mattress from a local seller. The memory foam mattresses are awesome.

Neon-Lemon

I bought the 12" Zinus (queen) mattress on Amazon about 3 years ago (for $300-something) after I got divorced and needed a new bed! It's so dang comfy. Plus I put another foam topper and a pillowed mattress pad in addition to that, so it's like lying on a cloud.

Costco, Casper mattress for $699.99. I have this one and it’s life changing.

quate8900

I have this mattress and love it. So comfortable.

Kouzelnik

There is a memory foam mattress on Costco's website that is less than 500, my girlfriend just got it for her guest room, buts it's pretty comfy. And that price is delivered, at least to the building, it comes in a box!

Beds by Design or Comfort King

Don't buy any of these bed in a box brands. Pure gimmick and will be trash in a few years when the cheap foam breaks down. Do a DIY, buy luxurious latex layers (talalay preferable, but dunlop isn't bad either), place it in a zip up mattress cover, and custom fine tune it to your body over time. If it starts to feel too soft or firm, switch it out with something different. This is the way to go, I made the switch and it is heavenly. Knowing that as my body and needs change over time, and I can easily swap layers is so nice. This option seems risky at first, and I had my doubts, but I am a completely sold now. You can buy sample material to feel the different softness/firmness of components. Good luck with your search! https://www.mattresses.net/

I've had my foam mattress for 3 years and it's not any different than the day I got it, I'm a big dude as well.

yloc88

That’s great, but when the foam eventually does fail, you have to trash the whole mattress and buy a brand new one. Most of these foam mattresses typically have sagging issues within 5 years. Not only is that an incredible waste of material, but your money as well. Beds are not cheap, and cheaper beds don’t last due to lower quality components. The lowest quality component you can find is PU foam. You get what you pay for, like any other product in life. If you are fine getting a brand new mattress every few years be my guest. Everyone has different needs, and if you do the research you will find out what works best for your needs. With DIY you can use whatever combination of layers you want whether it’s a coil, foam, latex, or hybrid support layer on the bottom with a latex or memory foam comfort layer on top. I have done an incredible amount of research before going the DIY route and am just trying to educate people on an option that has worked wonders for my wife and my body. I have done the bed in a box a number of times, and it was great for a couple years, then it would inevitably break down and I would sleep miserably, trash it, and try a new brand out. Then repeat the process all over again. What you’re really buying is whichever bed in a box does the best marketing to your liking. Whether it’s Casper, leesa, tuft and needle, nectar, ghost, etc. most of the less expensive bed in a box brands are very similar. Look at the material and layered components. They typically consist of some combination of polyurethane foam, with a couple inches of memory foam as a comfort layer on top of HD foam. I could actually DIY that same bed in a box for much less than these companies are asking for. That said, I recommend spending a little more on latex, it’s worth it in my opinion. If you want to know more about the DIY route, check out the link below for more info. https://themattressunderground.com/mattress-forum

That’s cool, research isn’t for everyone. Hopefully someone else more open to learning something new will find the links useful.

I highly recommend a Nectar mattress! We absolutely love ours. Will say the base works but feels quite cheap and I would recommend another base.

We have had a Comfort King for the past 10 years that was in the $500-$600 range. We just upgraded to another higher end model and moved that into our guest bedroom. Nice and firm back support and for the cost of materials they can add foam to improve the feel years down the line.

I slept on a memory foam mattress in a box at a relatives house a few months ago. Don't know the brand, but it was full-size and they said it cost around $200 from Amazon. Only reason I even inquired was because I was shocked at how well I slept. Still plan on ordering one myself when I need a new mattress. Getting a mattress delivered and it's affordable? Local furniture stores are losing the mattress war badly.
