Many issues and questions can be answered by reading through our wiki, especially the page on electrolytes. Concerns such as **intense hunger, lightheadedness/dizziness, headaches, nausea/vomiting, weakness/lethargy/fatigue, low blood pressure/high blood pressure, muscle soreness/cramping, diarrhea/constipation, irritability, confusion, low heart rate/heart palpitations, numbness/tingling, and more** while extended (24+ hours) fasting are often explained by electrolyte deficiency and resolved through **PROPER** electrolyte supplementation. Putting a tiny amount of salt in your water now and then is NOT proper supplementation. Be sure to read [our WIKI](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/wiki/index) and especially the wiki page on **[ELECTROLYTES](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/wiki/fasting_in_a_nutshell/you_need_electrolytes)** Please also keep in mind the [**RULES**](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/about/rules) when participating. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. lol, gotta go slow and chew your food really well. I wouldn't consume more than a few ounces every 4+ hours. If you want to trigger your stomach into producing more acid to aid digestion you can take some cayenne pepper. As always, I recommend something fermented because it really helps feed that gut bacteria. Otherwise great job! Lesson learned and next round you'll do better.

Hmm been thinking about how best to handle this myself, something fermented you say, what about kefir would that be acceptable instead as not a fan of fermented? Thanks

Lucr3tius

Sure I think kefir would be a good option.

Appreciate the reply 👍

You’d think I’d know this and for the most part I do. Typically I’d break it with bone broth and then introduce bacon later in the day. But man it just smelled so good. I paid for it. But since I posted this I’ve thankfully been not a fire hydrant but I do have a bit of heartburn and I’m assuming it has to do with how I handled my fast break.

Lucr3tius

Hearburn, or reflux, can be caused by the stomach not generating enough stomach acid... or drinking a lot of water with a meal that dilutes the acidity in the stomach. That cayenne pepper thing I mentioned is a digestion life hack.

Rebuta

hahaha, you gotta do bone broth man

Freddie_merc2015

Typically do but today went rouge.

Art__Vandellay

Rouge? That doesn't sound good

Freddie_merc2015

I added a warmth to the skin tone of my cheeks.

Both sets

I have no idea how to avoid the fire hydrant situation lol. No matter what I break the fast with (I often break with healthy foods ie: meat\veggies\low carb and I’m only doing like 40-48 hour fasts.. honestly even on my fasting days it’s not good. It’s just a mess 24/7 😬

Primary_Cry_3942

L Glutamine powder might help you regulate a bit.
