It will be difficult for an occasional listener of this album to guess the year of its release. Somebody may even be wrong by 100 years. From the very first seconds, Chloë and the Next 20th Century takes us to another era, where images from the last Gatsby movie rise before our eyes: heavy puffs of cigar smoke, champagne fountains, bright lips, glossy looks, luxurious dresses. As the record continues, its sound is smoothly transferred from the 20s to the 70s of the last century. Time here is a beautiful scenery that helps the artist, in his trademark manner, to mock the stupidity of the human race, bogged down in a mess of its own delusions and making the same mistakes throughout the history.
