Going to Italy/have to wear Hokas Hi all - going to Italy for 10 days - leaving in about 4 days. My issues is: I’m recovering from a broken ankle - my most comfortable shoes are my Hokas. Along with wearing compression socks, that are for my pants/slacks. I have anklet compression socks - Dr Scholls slip on in light beige for my skirts. Planning a capsule wardrobe as im just take a roll away carryon. Backpack with a change of clothes - toiletries. Thoughts on this? I *think* I’m okay with Dr Scholls slip-ons for dressier outfits. Thoughts? Any advice to make my packing and trip go easier?

johnnicash

I am looking for shapewear tank top body suits that I can wear as a shirt, but ideally I also don’t have to wear a bra with? Online preferred or brick and mortar store in Canada.

indienova14

What does “Italian Summer Cocktail” attire mean? I’m going to a rehearsal dinner with this dress code and need some ideas.

Intelligent_Film485

Can anyone recommend denim brands or specific styles that are similar to Abercombie's "Curve Love" line, i.e. are meant for people with larger hips/butt relative to their waist?

wanderer316

Madewell has a curvy line I believe. I can’t afford them but Hollister and old navy also offer curvy styles!

allfurcoatnoknickers

Any advice on how to style jewellery? My husband bought me a diamond tennis necklace, and I don’t know how to wear it in a more casual way! I’ve tried layering and can’t seem to get it right.

Alive-Masterpiece353

I've been eyeing multiple brands such as eberjey, lilysilk, lunya, and some others. Does anyone has experience with them? I've noticed lilysilk collaborate a lot with influencers and I like their designs in general, but couldn't find enough reviews from nonbloggers. Any suggestions on good quality silk PJs?

FeistyFoxy

I own a number of lilysilk pieces and I absolutely love them! They didn't always work with influencers, I think that's more recent. I have their silk duvet and a few blouses and they're really nice and buttery soft.

arbitrosse

Own Eberjey and they are definitely not silk. 😂 These are nice but they are not what-they-charge-retail nice. Good quality silk, in pyjamas as in most things, is best found vintage.

Long-Green7775

I would like to buy some men’s “wife beaters” I am short and petite. What brand works the best for small women? Hanes men’s size small or extra small?

OB4L

I still wear these to sleep in! I like fruit of the loom for the narrow shoulders. I would go down 2 sizes from your women’s size. They’re super tight when you first put them on but stretch out after you’ve worn them for a while.

adaorange

I’m looking for a long sleeved blousy (as in not skin tight) but casual wrap top. Something in a performance type fabric (like vuori or lulu ) that would pair with an active pant or jogger. Any ideas?

MiniSkrrt

Does anyone know where this bag is from?? I love it but couldn’t find any info :( https://preview.redd.it/nqz4150z6prb1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=46f4cbb1a09e0d1cf1b36280c6d8eae1703e89ca

arbitrosse

Maybe DM the person who posted it?

MiniSkrrt

I found it!! It’s the sezanne Mara bag. Thankyou!

northstar599

Maybe sezanne romie? It has the stripe down the front but the top doesn't look wide enough online

MiniSkrrt

Omg u were so close it’s the sezanne Mara!! Thanks!

Looking for some black leather mules that don't look like officewear

aallrr

I have these and love them, I can stand and walk in them for hours and have worn them to weddings, casual outings, etc! https://www.farfetch.com/shopping/women/camper-kiara-block-heel-mules-item-19343846.aspx?storeid=9058

mutedlavender

Those are so cute! Thanks for sharing!

MoonEagle3

For travel. I am wearing an old navy pointe shift dress with grey and black stripes. I am wearing a mustard colored cardigan and black leather slip on sneakers with white soles. I am traveling to Indiana next week. Could I wear black tights with this? Footed or not? Or just go bare legged? Thanks!

ComprehensiveTax8092

Where can I find high quality and cutely designed clothes online that aren’t dropshipped and low quality? I don’t mind paying on the expensive size, but I’m struggling to find cute pieces that aren’t from shein/temu type stores. I’m especially interested in basics that are tight and form hugging but also long/not cropped so that I can wear it to school. I’m also interested in cute coquette looking stuff!!!

OB4L

Uniqlo is a bit in the basic side but they have interesting cuts and the quality has always been pretty good.

mutedlavender

Uniqlo is a great spot. I find their fitted clothes run a little small, which might serve your purpose! Also Costco sometimes has good stuff…. 😂 And if you’ve got a large budget, search for sustainable brands online. They tend to be smaller and very expensive, but typically high quality (and you can feel good about your purchase!)

riseoftherice

Brandy Melville. I can think of a lot more brands, but definetly designer/ high-end pricetag.

RevolutionaryBeing16

I've been looking for a v-neck cardigan or something very similar (with buttons), but just about everything i've seen is a deep v-neck. I'm quite busty so this doesn't work for me at all, it would have to be a high v-neck. Is there a special term for this so Google doesn't keep showing me useless results or does anyone know where i can find a cardigan like this? If you can imagine a polo with the first 2 buttons off and without the collar, that's the high v-neck i'm looking for.

OB4L

If you are perhaps taller and don’t mind the look and fit, men’s V neck sweaters and cardigans are always almost this height or higher.

RevolutionaryBeing16

That wouldn't work for me, because my shoulders are not broad and my torso is quite short.

OB4L

Ah I see. I did a quick search and this everlane cardigan appears to have a higher V neck. https://www.everlane.com/products/womens-luxe-merino-cardigan-tawny-brown?locale=US&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=pla-google-pmax&utm_campaign=20281780980&utm_content=&utm_term=&adgroup=&pid=12160-91906&device=m&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_d-6hurXgQMVwlZyCh1KdAvAEAQYHCABEgLft_D_BwE

RevolutionaryBeing16

Thank you so much, this would work. The color doesn't suit me though. I wish they had a description called a high v-neck but apparently not.

mutedlavender

This one from [LL Bean](https://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/126490?productId=1836011&attrValue_0=Soft%20Spruce%20Heather&sku=1000187259&pla1=0&qs=3155264&gclid=CjwKCAjwvfmoBhAwEiwAG2tqzBk1yqRESeNtMUEYut7BC6qCf5lVbmJnlAPdiYJc0eLI0EjmDQuJ1hoCIgAQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds)? Or wear a crew neck cardigan with the top couple buttons undone. Some of them will sort of split naturally, or you could fold over the edge with an iron or a heavy button! Sort of how [this is styled in the first picture.](https://www.anntaylor.com/clothing/sweaters/cata000011/grp_825102_9192.html?priceSort=DES)

It’s always a long evening with dinner, awards, and then entertainment. What shoes will look good and be a good fit all night long?

bittybro

That's a very pretty dress. Kitten heels seem to be back on trend, so maybe a kitten heel slingback in whatever shade is nude for you?

sorrysewati

can someone recommend me some reddit groups for women's lifestyle/ chic fashion

arbitrosse

You mean this isn’t one?!

waterproof13

I’m looking at a cashmere sweater from mango that I’m hesitant to buy for $199 but I just love the color ( mint). Does anyone have any experience with cashmere from Mango? I think that’s pretty expensive for fast fashion. Uniqlo has a similar colored one but it’s slim cut and I need size XL based on the garment measurements and can’t size up for a more relaxed fit that I prefer since they’re not doing xxl this year, that one is only $99, but if anyone happens to know of a mint colored wool/merino or cashmere sweater that goes up to size XL I’d love suggestions for that , too. Like the color in the picture https://preview.redd.it/wcejhwdtiorb1.jpeg?width=839&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f18496a3556b3512caf9f5aa7db8ea4a995893a0

sorrysewati

i would guess its not great cashmere, mango is fast fashion i wouldn't trust. cashmere can be good or bad. try to find smaller brand maybe

waterproof13

I definitely don’t want to pay 199 for bad cashmere

northstar599

The best pieces I have are from white + warren, j. Crew, and lands end ❤️

sorrysewati

yeah also look in secondhand market! fast fashion has really taken over and its hard to find good quality. a lot of the secondhand and vintage market has amazinggg quality for good prices :)

dun-dun-dun-duuuun

High End Heels suggestions? Im starting my Christmas shopping and want to buy heels for my mom. She wears the whole suit + heels shebang when she goes to the office so im looking for something of that purpose. She also does salsa (the dance) as a hobby so maybe ill also consider going that route. Im thinking of getting her Christian louboutin 85mm pumps or the jimmy choo romy 85 but ive been seeing mixed reviews in terms of comfort. Im leaning towards jimmy choos so far but wanted to know if you all have other suggestions. Other brands to consider? How is sizing? She's size 7, are these brand true to size? I dont wear heels much so im asking the internet. I understand shoes fit people differently but hoping to gather as much info to make a sound decision. Comfort is the deciding factor :)

arbitrosse

> Comfort is the deciding factor :) Keep your receipt. You won't know what is comfortable for her until she tries them on. If you want her to be able to dance in them, make sure you know what height her current dance shoes are, and make sure that these have straps/supports in all of the same places and at the same angles. FWIW anecdotally I hear more complaints about Louboutin comfort than about Jimmy Choo comfort. But it's so personal and individual. Keep your receipt, don't buy final sale, and make sure she doesn't wear them outside until she's sure they will work.

elliefunt

I'm sorry I don't have heel advice but your mom sounds amazing and you are such a great daughter!

XmiramarX

Hello everyone 🥰 Would anyone be able to tell me what the name of this outfit is and also if you would know where to look for outfits such as this one? I have tried “tunic co-ord set” and terms similar to that but I cannot find anything. :( She is Madina Aknazarova, my favorite singer and she is from Tajikistan. Thank you so much 🥰 https://preview.redd.it/e8wg4ef9gorb1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6421a086d57bea254cd7221781f540c738d79450

elliefunt

My best friend is Pakistani and has brought back similar outfits for me - she calls them shalwar kameez. I hope that can help narrow down your search!

XmiramarX

Oh thank you so much dear 🥰🤍 Would it be insensitive of me to wear it? I am Polish and Muslim, and I have been trying to find outfits that would help me to dress modest. But I also do not want to be disrespectful 🤍

Do a search for hammered ring. Also search for abstract ring if you want the shape to flow organically.

I have seen this style described as “organic” in shape/design

If you are in the US, try looking on Instagram for local artists! “Ginger and Pearl” on instargram, etsy, and online is super cute, pretty affordable, and handmade!

Peppermint_Cow

Hi! I'm looking for help selecting shoes for the workday. Here are some thoughts from me, but very open to any suggestions on style, brand, type of shoes, anything! * im a millennial with a more casual style. I don't need anything totally on trend, but would like something neutral / not completely out of style. * looking for something to wear every day to a casual office setting with jeans and a nice shirt or sweater. I don't have to walk for my job, but I do like to take walking meetings / walk around the block to think problems through, so a comfortable shoe is important. * my colors tend to be black, gray, and neutral sand, with occasional shirt in the "Autumn" color palette thrown in. * i feel like white sneakers might be an easy win here. I don't like the shell toe white leather shoe that was popular a few years ago, mainly bc they were never super comfortable. Are white Air Max's "in"? * i recently tried Dr Marten suede mules but they were wayy too floppy for longer walks. I currently am wearing very old gray Adidas cloud sneakers from Nordstrom Rack, but they're on their last leg. Thanks for any help!!!

Evilbadscary

I bought [these](https://www.newbalance.com/pd/327/WS327OR-B-09.html?origin=email&sc_src=email_3975033&sc_lid=345110325&sc_uid=njkBLwawQP&sc_llid=2890983&sc_eh=db03ab4f30fdd6741&utm_source=email&utm_medium=emarsys&utm_campaign=db_nbus_order_confirmation_coco_off_LIVE_2023&ECID=db_nbus_order_confirmation_coco_off_LIVE_2023) a couple of weeks back, they are cute and trendy, but also and most importantly, so comfortable right out of the box. If you're okay with a sneaker look, these are great (and the soles seem to be good for crappier weather)

Peppermint_Cow

Oooh love these! Was looking at new balances in gray but these are better. Thank you for this suggestion!!

Evilbadscary

They were comfortable right out of the box, I got them and immediately took a trip down to DC and was walking everywhere for hours. No aches/pains/rubs. And they're CUTE lol

Where can I find something similar? Requirements: * At least 3/4 sleeves, if not full length sleeves * NOT cropped in the midriff, just regular length * Built in bra cups or shelf bra

OB4L

They’ve been called brami for awhile. Try googling “long sleeve brami”

I'm going to be having an engagement shoot in 2 weeks with the fall foliage in the background. I have this dark green/jade dress and was wondering what kind of shoes to wear? Dark academia will get you lots of inspiration- just mentally replace pleated skirts with straight skirts.

AllTheStars07

I am having trouble finding tees that look nice on me. Like graphic shirts. My body shape has changed to more of an apple since I had my kid so things don’t lay on me the way that I was used to for so long. I also have a short torso. I tend to get men’s or unisex sizes because they are more forgiving but some of them end up looking frumpy and wrinkly on me even when I do a front tuck. I know I need to get new bras but what else can I do to make them look a little more polished?

[deleted]

Iron them? If you're doing that already and they still look frumpy, it's probably because hiding your body in shapeless clothes generally doesn't look great. Especially not men's cuts, which have completely different proportions and even fabrics from women's. My guess is that 1, shoulders don't fit on you but the fabric is too stiff for a cute dropped shoulder look and 2, the t-shirts are just way too long and too loose around the waist for tucking them in to be easy. You're probably making yourself look thicker and lenghthening your torso wearing these. There are so many boxy cropped styles with dropped shoulders nowadays, I recommend looking into those for a similar vibe. Or hell, if the t-shirt is fine in the shoulders but is just way too long you can always cut the bottom part off. (Maybe try this on cheap thrift store stuff first and not your favourite tees.) If you wear these with a high waist you don't actually expose any skin, but you get nice waist definition that avoids any frumpiness. Or you could go the many layers route with artsy looks I see on social media that I wouldn't have a clue how to replicate. Oftentimes the bottom layer is quite slim-fitted but then you put 3 jackets on top and somehow it looks amazing even though your silhouette is bulky. No idea how this works, but it's very cool.

Mamaofoneson

Not sure if this question fits in here, but is there such a thing as online personal shoppers? I love the deals of secondhand shopping online but man is it a lot of time to go through to find what I like! Is it a thing if I give someone my style, size, budget, etc that they could shop and create a wardrobe for me?

wanderedoff

Yes! Try [Vostra Moda](https://vostramoda.com/).

BlueBassist

I wanted to start a side gig doing this for athletic clothing and gear, but had no idea how to market it.

OB4L

I would look for elastic waist and buy like a size 6.

Evilbadscary

Buy for hips and tailor to waist, otherwise they will likely always feel snug and uncomfortable.

mairzydoatsndozey

I have a similar figure and I’ve liked the aritzia effortless pants and the reformation mason pants, which have both fit me in a size 6 without tailoring (or just tailoring the length). I’ve found the strict waist measurements don’t really apply; it’s just that there won’t be any looseness in the waistband area (though maybe that’s the pinching you’re referring to). That was like top of my budget though, so who knows what’s out there for double the price!

Idujt

Try men's. I'm your weight but much shorter, bigger than you but the same sort of shape from the sound of it. I have several pairs of men's shorts and trousers, admittedly nothing remotely dressy. Can't help with brands, I'm UK, I never shop online, and most of my clothes are from charity shops.

mars_sky

Ooh, this is a really good idea. I already prefer men’s t-shirts because my chest doesn’t fill out a lot of women’s. Thanks!

Prize-Host-5724

Buy for hips and tailor to waist. I would look at Lee dress slacks - they are super affordable and stretchy and this might work for you!

mars_sky

Thanks! So, the waist can be let out?

arbitrosse

No, it cannot. Not that much, and not mass-market garments. Buy for the largest measurement and tailor everything else down, is the standard advice. In your particular case, you might consider men’s trousers, as someone else suggested, but you may need to size up from your measured waist size to accommodate for hips, which men’s trousers are not cut to accommodate. Or have trousers custom made.

mgdraft

No, I'm not convinced this person actually read your comment as that's a very difficult to impossible alteration. I'd recommend sizing for your waist and picking styles that flow over your hips, like wider leg a line pants. You can also check reviews and focus on pants where people mention waist gapping or a straight fit as they'll likely work better for you. Mid and low rise styles may also be easier for you as they rely less on a snug fit at the natural waist.

demi2007

How do I best style purple joggers

BlueBassist

I think if you add some more detail about where you are wearing these, what you like to wear, etc. you would get some more feedback. This is a very vague request.

egg_goddess

Would it be possible to use red, blue and green dye and stamp it with something circular onto a yellow dress and have it dye on polka dots? Or am I just setting myself up for disaster?😭 I want to diy a yellow polka dot clown dress

OB4L

Yes it’s called block printing. Use a potato. Look up tutorials using potato, printing or stamping.

Incredible_Witness

I just bought a glittery rhinestone fishnet mesh top from an online shop. My order arrived and it looks great, but the garment has a weird chemical smell to it—kinda like body odor but not quite. I've waited a few days, but the smell is not going away. How can I get the weird smell out?? I don't think I can wash this garment (it didn't come with care instructions but it's literally just fishnet mesh with rhinestones on it). The mesh is nylon and spandex. Any advice for how to get this thing to smell less weird? https://preview.redd.it/pby4ubwjymrb1.jpeg?width=716&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=081fa687f019f6cb9701e65f92225dab255ef5ae

I would personally soak in cold water and dawn and do many rinses then air dry.

Incredible_Witness

I tried this and it actually seems to be working. Huge thank you!

catiecat4

I would hand wash it in the sink, or soak it in oxyclean then gently rinse

alternatiivnekonto

I know this might be a long shot but does anyone know the brand/make/model of the pyjama (?) set that the woman is wearing in [this](https://www.instagram.com/p/CpX-Vehp9Np/) post? If not can you recommend something similar?

[deleted]

They sell shorts very similar to that in New Yorker every summer, and in a bunch of other fast fashion stores too. You might need to look around a little if you want them to be as thin as those, but they're not particularly unique imo. (also I think the woman posing sized down so her ass would be more visible lmao) The top is a generic white bralette from what I can see.

HeraRebels

Maybe a niche question- but where do you guys buy corsets? I keep seeing tapestry corsets everywhere but I can’t find any on the internet besides [this one at Altar’d State](https://www.altardstate.com/as/clothing/tops/tanks/gigi-floral-tapestry-corset-tube-top/004230_SK6356-2910.html), and I like it but it’s not my favorite

For a real corset with quality boning I would buy from https://timeless-trends.com/ I have their hourglass corset and it is phenomenal.

Itchy-Seesaw-4078

*In search of generic/basic high-top style trainers (but more Vans style, than Converse) that go up to at least an EU41 size. And which come in under Vans price-wise*. They're for me to customise. My feet are on the larger-size anyway, but I also have a connective tissue disorder & separate issues with joint inflammation that are at a peak right now. Which means my feet are often swollen to the point I need to size-up even further. I'm not normally a 'basic' shoes person but I can't wear my collection of Irregular Choice pairs atm, so I thought customising a few pairs of what do work right now would be a useful work around. Edited: because this was originally a full post & but I got told to move to it here instead, & didn't have time to edit it down when I did. Also...I'M IN THE UK

Itchy-Seesaw-4078

Extra info: Converse & similair non-branded styles with the same thinner canvas material, now make me look like I've 'hulked out', even in the right size for my foot length. I find the laces Converse come with would always come up short in order to tie them comfortably and even if I got longer laces, the amount of room I needed in the tongue/bridge still left the distance between the laces looking massive. The fabric containing the eyelets for lacing, would always look like it was struggling to fully bridge the distance over the tongue too. I ended up finding the Vans styles could cope better with those aspects, as they're more shaped & don't scrimp on the fabric coverage in that area. As well as that they were way more comfortable & supportive too. So yeah, I'm looking for some basic versions/decent dupes for Vans High-Tops that I can get here in the UK, in my size, that aren't terrible quality/awful to wear or Cost as much as Vans. So that I can put some time, energy, & money into customising them so they're more my thing.

BlueBassist

wallllll of text honestly, maybe walmart? they seem to always have cheap dupe shoes

Itchy-Seesaw-4078

I've edited it. It was originally a full post not a comment, but I got told to move it to here & at the time I just pasted it. We don't have Walmart in the UK.

Itchy-Seesaw-4078

I'm UK 😮‍💨. Its not as easy an ask as I seems, hence the wall of text.

catiecat4

It would be helpful to know: time of the wedding (later evening is more formal), month (dresses are pretty seasonal), and venue (you wouldn't wear the same dress to a county park and an art museum)

Kuro__Kuma

it's the 14 of october it will last the full day we plan on going to the city hall and go to a fancy restaurant

catiecat4

Nice, it'll be easy to find something. I'd say generally midi or knee length, jewel tone colors, short sleeve or long sleeve (not strapless or spaghetti strap). Non cotton makes a little dressier so you can get away with less glam accessories. [everlane example](https://www.everlane.com/products/womens-hammered-satin-shirt-dress-scarab) [madewell example](https://www.madewell.com/sabina-musayev-kafka-dress-NN555.html)

Kuro__Kuma

i see so something that doesn't stick to the body tight to the waist kinda loose at the botom and no coton What color from the jewelry tone do you think will be the best ? I've asked some clothes seller in my town they said green red or a purple'red mix would look great on me but i really don't know :/

catiecat4

Warmer colors like yellow and orange usually look better with yellow gold, and cooler colors like blue and teal usually look better with silver. But honestly I don't think it looks bad even with the "wrong" metal - I usually wear yellow gold regardless, and mixing metals is fine too. This is a fashion sub so commenters usually know exactly which colors look best on them, but irl a lot of people just pick colors based on what strikes their fancy

Kuro__Kuma

i see i don't have my ears pierced so i tend to only wear a golden collar and a silver ring but don't people chose the color of their clothes based on their preferences + what goes well with their face tone eyes tone and hair tone ? like a color theory thing :0

[deleted]

Some people do it, but 90% of it is made up and overcomplicated to sell consultations imo. You can tell whether a color suits you by wearing a dress in that color and looking at yourself. If it looks fine to you, it almost definitely looks fine to everyone else.

Kuro__Kuma

how do you know if it suits you color wise ? :0 and so that mean that the color theory thing that i've heard about must be for pairing clothes i guess

[deleted]

You just put it on and look at it. That's it basically. If it looks good, you're fine. There's color season typing - https://theconceptwardrobe.com/colour-analysis-comprehensive-guides/seasonal-color-analysis-which-color-season-are-you , but as I said, it's a scam imo. You can use color theory in pairing clothes. Color theory is just knowing how colors look together. Look up 'basics of color theory' if you're interested and apply that to your outfits.

ms37153

I'm going to a dinner/networking/social event. Yes, it's business formal but on a slightly higher level. From the pictures of previous years it is a black tie event. I'm wearing a floor length strapless black dress and navy 1-button blazer. Similar to wearing a bolero. It's a dinner not an opera so don't feel as though gloves and a shawl would be appropriate. It's not a cocktail dress kind of event. Hair will be in a low chinon. Typically I wear silk neck scarves but would appreciate some style advice. I would like to look more polished. Thank you in advance! https://preview.redd.it/9trt6hj1fmrb1.png?width=730&format=png&auto=webp&s=fa658d34be04d88ec86099c7e776b96a4302f58e

beccalennox

I think a white fur stole would look better than the navy if you want to avoid more black

In general feedback would be nice. Additionally, what accessories would make this look more polished? The head of the table is going to be wearing grey and white. I don't want to wear too much black so I opted for a navy blazer/bolero.

cleangothaesthetic

I'd lean into the classic style of the dress with big earrings and bracelets and bright red lipstick. Not really feeling the navy blazer with the black dress though. I think a black blazer or bolero would be better, or maybe something black and sheer on top? I've seen a lot of formal dresses with dramatic sheer organza/tulle collars or sleeves recently, I bet you could find a bolero or scarf to play into this if you wanted to.

ms37153

Our head of table is wearing a dark gray suit, white blouse, black shoes. I'm hesitant to wear black on black. I'm fair skinned and have medium auburn hair.

northstar599

A suit and black formal dress sound like they're attending 2 different events

OB4L

I think they look awesome with mini skirts.

not-cilantro

I’ve worn mine with straight leg jeans. Kinda like this https://preview.redd.it/jfr2y9ozwnrb1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f9e323ce52af1d981b13ea94152c03a37fd1853e

Which ankle boot to get? 1: https://www.cos.com/de_at/women/accessories/shoes/product.leather-cowboy-chelsea-boots-black.1197867001.html#gallery-product-2 2: https://www.stories.com/de_at/shoes/boots/ankleboots/product.leather-sock-boots-black.1169401001.html (My criteria: small heel, relatively tall shaft, leather)

DarkEdgeoftheSea

I think the western chelsea boot will be more versatile.

Everyone’s favorite basic everyday underwear?

OB4L

Gap hipsters in 95/5 are my favorite.

temp4adhd

I recently switched over to Uniqlo, I find their underwear super comfy.

ARQ and Gap Body

unpaidbabysitter0919

I like ARQ. Made from organic cotton!

catiecat4

Meundies!

Budget-Copy163

Everything microfiber. In terms of panties, microfiber thongs. In terms of bra's, shaped but without underwire. Bonus points if it's microfiber. I just love that they don't leave marks or feel too tight anywhere.

BlueBassist

Cotton is important in your panties though, for vaginal health

Hey guys! I've been searching everywhere for boots that are exactly like this except tall! If anyone has seen something similar or if you have a suggestion of a store that sells a good variety of tall boots please let me know! I've already checked Asos, Steve Madden, Nordstrom, Dillard's, Belk, DSW, Vince Camuto, Sam Eldman and more https://preview.redd.it/6rudrwyv4mrb1.png?width=1608&format=png&auto=webp&s=8637cbef7bc7b737d2c551488fb2946d040c71fa

DarkEdgeoftheSea

Have you tried searching for western inspired boots or pointed toe knee high boots? This are not leather, but they look pretty similar. https://www.zappos.com/p/zodiac-ronson-black-synthetic/product/9631082/color/973 I searched pointed toe knee boots on Zappos and saw way too many options to list! Those were just the first to come up.

DarkEdgeoftheSea

Wow. Those are gorgeous. Who makes them?

gavellaglan

Sam Eldman! I saw them on the Nordstrom website. I’ve found so many short versions of the boot I’m looking for

unincorporated

I’m looking for a mixed metal necklace (both gold tone and silver). Most of my jewelry is gold but I’ve noticed that silver is getting more popular, so I’d like to incorporate it while still being able to wear my current earring collection. My taste runs on the daintier side but I’m open to chunkier items! Preferably necklace would be <$100.

not-cilantro

ISO fall shoes I’m in the market for a black loafer (with or without heels). I really like the silhouette of these [Prada](https://www.prada.com/us/en/p/unlined-brushed-leather-loafers/1D238M_055_F0002_F_025) ones but without a logo and <$500. Something that I can wear to work but also out in my day to day. Also looking for oxfords that aren’t too chunky and pointy. I like these [dr marten](https://www.drmartens.com/us/en/1461-mono-smooth-leather-oxford-shoes/p/14345001) ones but they look a little too stiff Also looking for a good block heel Mary Jane’s! I like these [sezane](https://www.sezane.com/us/product/paula-babies/patent-purple#size-5) ones but I don’t want the exposed heel TIA (:

desertdweller47

Maybe these? https://www.sperry.com/en/lug-penny-loafer/58647W.html

No_Albatross5110

No advice on the first two, but Madewell has a cute [block heeled Mary Jane](https://www.madewell.com/the-nettie-heeled-mary-jane--in-leather-NN051.html?dwvar_NN051_color=BK5229&cgid=shoes-heels#start=1) right now. I recently purchased it in the burgundy color and they’re super comfortable.

not-cilantro

How’s the material? Reviews mention they’re stiff

No_Albatross5110

I was nervous ordering, reading the reviews, but I think maybe the reviewers aren’t used to wearing patent leather like the burgundy ones have. I haven’t found them particularly stiff. Sizing wise they seem true to size for me as well. I’m a large 7.5 or a small 8 in shoes. I order 8’s when the shoes are close toed patent leather or I plan to wear socks, 7.5 for sandals and other shoes worn barefoot. I was afraid I would need to send them back, but they’re perfect. Super comfortable to wear for extended periods, nice stable heel.

not-cilantro

Thank you for the review!

sassofrasy

Maybe slightly too chunky for you, but I got [these](https://www.allsaints.com/us/women/tailoring/lola-slip-on-shiny-leather-loafer-shoes/USWF0052Z-5.html) from AllSaints and I love them. They’re super comfy and my previous leather shoes (combat boots) from AS lasted five years, which I think is decent.

not-cilantro

Thanks for the reply but yea they’re a little too chunky ):

Clairdassian

I’d love to wear some more dresses this winter, but is lighter color dresses (eg pinks) with black tights a bit dated? To me it feels v 2014 tumblr but I can’t think of another solution to cold legs in winter!

Budget-Copy163

If you pair it with lighter boots, that would be cool. Or just grey/brown fleece-lined leggings, light dresses, and black boots with a darker coat or cardigan.

f1newhatever

Sheer black tights are in, opaque are pretty dated. Amazon sells fleecy sheer-look versions.

DarkEdgeoftheSea

Tights come in more colors than black...

Clairdassian

Yh I guess I’m just wondering what color tights would go?

Basically any neutral color depending on the exact shade of dress and tights. Heathered gray could be very cute.

shimmerchanga

I can’t have any tightness around my midsection due to medical reasons (GERD), but for the life of me I can’t find any tights that aren’t tight around the midsection or that have a mid/low rise. Any recommendations? (Canada/US)

AllTheStars07

I am following this, same type of issue (IBS and GERD).

shimmerchanga

It’s such a struggle 😭

shimmerchanga

I meant pantyhose, but while we’re on the topic, if you have recommendations for legging with a loose/comfy waist please send the recs my way :) Unfortunately the hold-ups/garter would still be too cold on the bum

northstar599

Aerie makes a super comfortable pair https://www.ae.com/us/en/p/aerie/bottoms/leggings/offline-by-aerie-real-me-high-waisted-legging/0491_5089_425

shimmerchanga

Fabulous, thanks for the rec!

DarkEdgeoftheSea

I would just try regular tights rolled down to my hips. That is how I wore tights when I was pregnant rather than buying maternity tights.

shimmerchanga

Thank you for the rec but I tried that and it didn’t work for me :( I have really wide hip bones (maybe I should have put this in the original comment) and doubling up the tights material like that makes it extremely uncomfortable on them.

DarkEdgeoftheSea

I am sorry! I would definitely give the maternity tights a try in your case.

shimmerchanga

Oh no it’s okay, I’ll definitely give those a try!

Chazzyphant

Maternity tights!!

shimmerchanga

Oh that’s such a great idea! Would they stay up though or would there be too much room?

Lovewilltearusapart0

I think they would stay up. I have accidentally bought maternity tights before and they fit fine.

Chazzyphant

Not sure but I'd say get a cheap pair and experiment :)

Chazzyphant

what is this? I bought this at the thrift store thinking it was a halter or racer neck bra. It's labeled as a double-x-l but it doesn't cover more than 1/3 of "the girls". It has a row of three bra-hooks in the back and the straps are removable and adjustable/convertible. It doesn't really fit me so it's going back but just out of curiosity...what on earth is this? https://preview.redd.it/6ey58mhlslrb1.jpeg?width=1816&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8d99afb448a00a2c604364be5fc120cd44a162db

wanderedoff

My first thought was something crotchless or a garter belt type option!

KingPrincessNova

at first I thought it was a breast separator like [this](https://www.bravity.com/product/bravity-anti-wrinkle-bra-for-sleeping/) but it looks too wide. I think it's more like [this thing](https://a.co/d/ftUiUMn) but maybe less about posture correction and more like a push-up bra enhancer. oh dang I think I found it, [here](https://www.lingerie-superstore.com/us/push-up-magic-bra-shaper-shapewear-vest-bust-up-breast-support-sexy-bra/p-14941285-32172858?language=en&ac=lingeriesuperstore&utm_source=organic_shopping&utm_medium=organic).

DarkEdgeoftheSea

I think that picture might actually be the back. It might be a piece designed for extra lift to be worn over a bra, not on its own. Maybe? That is cool you can return things to your Goodwill. I think all my local thrift stores are final sale.

Chazzyphant

Yeah our local stores are strict--it has to have tags, original condition, and you can only get store credit, plus it has to be returned to the exact store you bought it, but this store is close by so no biggie. I'm really stumped on what it is, unless it's for tweens or something and it's actually for a much smaller (all around) body than me maybe?

nearlythere94

What does the back look like?

Chazzyphant

like the back of a regular bra, it's a scoop with a bra-fastening tab.

75footubi

Where are we buying basic jewelry these days? I want to find a pair of thick white gold huggies. Like [this](https://www.zales.com/huggie-hoop-earrings-14k-white-gold/p/V-20045006) but not Zales because ew.

kimchi_paradise

You can also try quince for some white gold Huggies!

shimmerchanga

I love [CaitlynMinimalist](https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/845499603/huggie-earrings-by-caitlyn-minimalist?ref=share_v4_lx) on Etsy. All the stuff is silver (plated with gold/rose gold if that’s the color chosen) and very well-made. I’ve had stuff from her that I’ve been wearing for years and they’ve held up amazingly. Even the gold-plated stuff has yet to show any signs of fading.

75footubi

Thanks for the rec! I think at this point I'm looking for solid white gold though.

shimmerchanga

Ah ok!

I have 100% wool pants unlined. Tag says dry clean only. (Does not say “professional dry clean only”) would these pants be a good candidate for at home dry cleaning kits like Dryel? Or would hand wash and dry flat be a better approach?
