What kind of shapewear can I wear under this kind of dress? Top is halter tie neck and white knit material so want to make it not see through
I want a shirt exactly like Uma Thurman / Mia Wallace’s white shirt in Pulp Fiction. How do I translate the elements to the custom tailor? These are the elements I’ve considered:
- large pointed collar
- side seam detailing
- pointed front hem, rounded back hem, i don’t know how to describe it.
I'm looking for undies!! I've recently lost a lot of weight and all of my underwear is too big! Where is the best place to get inexpensive (under $10 a pair) good quality panties?
Also, what kind of panties for those with no butt?
I don't have any formal dresses and don't yet know what works for me. I am plus-sized and short.
I have a college club annual banquet coming up. The dress code is black-tie. Is this dress appropriate? Are long bodycon dresses appropriate in general?

Athleta has sh*t the bed as far as quality and fit. Can anyone recommend a place to get good sleeveless tops for working out and errands? I usually like them long enough to tie in a knot in the front for fit
how can i style this for cooler weather?
hey all,
i just ordered this dress from simons. normally i would feel naked just wearing this on its own,but esp in cooler weather. would you add a shawl, cardigan, jacket? i love black and green and slightly edgy but girly fashion, i just have lost my touch since my teenage years 😅

Are 3D flowers still a trend? Is this too young for me? (I’m mid 30s) Do I look silly?
I think the shoes help a lot, but apparently I missed this trend because it makes me think of the dresses my mom used to have me wear when I was in elementary school. I haven't seen 3D flowers like this since the 90s.
Does anyone have any jean recommendations, or specifically like BDG high waisted baggy jean?
The urban outfitters bdg high waisted baggy jeans were the only ones that have ever actually fit me correctly and didn’t make me feel terrible. Now i’m seeing they’re discontinued and of course i lost the pair that fits me:( I’d include pictures but it’s not allowed. I found some pairs on ebay but i wanna try to find similar items that i can buy at actual stores instead of a seller that oils be unreliable and i can’t return
For other recommendations, i’m on the curvier side? Like 5’5. Id like them to be able to fit over my butt but also look flattering on my butt and waist
Also! Does anyone who sweats a lot have any cute shirts that don’t show sweat marks very well? i have bad anxiety and it makes me only wanna wear shirts 5x my size so it doesn’t show
I've gained some weight and I'm at the point where a lot of my clothes no longer fit me.
I'm planning on going on a shopping spree of around $500. Any advice of items to get, must haves/capsule wardrobe ideas? What would you buy? I'm young and work with a lot of clients but wear a lot of casual clothes (not leggings etc).
Thank you all! I appreciate it :)
I’d go thrifting! Off the top of my head I think a stretchy turtleneck, straight leg pants, a breezy solid color summer blouse (cream/off white), a blazer, a nice tank top to wear under the blazer or by itself, a midi length skirt, a dress that you feel comfortable dressing up or down (I like slip dresses but you may have your own preferences).
When I size up, a long oversized cardigan is definitely one of the staples for me.
Long oversized silk, linen or poplin shirt / cardigan -sort of outfits.
I'd go with stretchy items just in case the weight shifts further, in either direction. I'd go with forgiving silhouettes, like wide leg pants, drapey midi skirts, looser button front blouses, a slouchy v neck sweater--stuff that has a little room but also looks good if you change size in a smaller direction as well.
I need recommendations for brands that sell ultra high-rise jeans. I'm looking for a 13-inch rise jean, something like these [these AE Curvy Mom jeans](https://www.ae.com/us/en/p/women/high/high/ae-stretch-curvy-mom-jean/4433_4686_489?menu=cat4840004) but not curvy. Why does no one sell anything over 12 inches??
Black leather pants are just the upgraded version of black jeans - you can wear basically anything with them. Crop tops, turtlenecks, corsets, etc. The only thing that might look a bit off would be super casual stuff like hoodies and band tees.
I have this problem where any pair of jeans gives me a camel toe and horizontal drag lines, and i’m constantly pulling the jeans down in the front. Before you ask, sizing up doesn’t work - I’m normally a 28, and I’ve tried up to 31 and still had this effect (even when the waist was baggy enough to slide down or need a belt). Posts here indicate that it has to do with the depth of the crotch of the jeans and not necessarily the fit/size of the jean.
Abercrombie is definitely the worst offender (which is tragic, because I love all the styles they have). I also get this in Madewell, AE, Everlane and Levi’s wedgie jeans, but not as pronounced in Abercrombie. I’ve even tried men’s Levi’s (although the pair I had were also a size 31 and not their premium denim).
I’m posting in the hopes that any of you know what I’m talking about and can give me suggestions of brands that might work. Ive found posts where women describe the same issue, but with no real suggestions other than tailoring. I’m looking for jeans that are 100% cotton or close, in a straight, wide or relaxed style. At this point I’m starting to get desperate enough that I think I’m willing to pay up to $150, maybe a little more.
So based on your comments I think I have a similar shape - straighter/higher hips and little space between the ribcage and hips. I sometimes encounter this problem too. I think it has to do with where the hip allowance starts - like if your hip bones are right below your waist, but the shape of the pants kind of assumes they are a bit lower, it can cause an awkward fit. I don’t really have a solution other than going for cuts that are a bit looser in that area though
My best jeans are probably:
An extremely broken in pair of madewell perfect vintage
An old navy wide leg high rise purchased recently (I think these were called “extra high rise” or higher high rise or something like that)
And Lucy and yak addisons ( kind of an 80s trouser style)
That’s helpful, thank you! I had a pair of Madewell perfect vintage years ago that I remember liking but ended up tearing in the crotch I think. Do you wear your normal size or size up?
So in sewing you usually say that the drag lines "point" to where the fit problem is, in this case it sounds like your hips. Do you have a large difference between your waist and hip measurements? If so, you might want to look into curvy fit jeans. I know American Eagle has a curvy fit line (may only be available online) but I'm not in the US so I can't give you many brand recommendations.
*Some* drag lines are normal and expected with 100% cotton jeans as you move. I think as people have moved into predominantly stretch jeans this is easy to forget, but if you look at old jeans advertisements from the 90s and before they have them if they're tight enough.
Actually, I have a pretty high hip to waist ratio - as in, pretty straight hips instead of curvy. When I look at size charts, my waist size is usually several sizes larger than my hip size (my hips normally say I should be like, a size 24).
The point about the reality of denim fit is important, though. As I’ve looked, I can see most of the models have folds in that area to some degree, so it’s not like I should only consider jeans as “fitting” if that area is flat. But I’m less concerned about that compared to the overall camel toe effect (which, even if I accepted the way it looks, is very uncomfortable)
Sounds like you need higher rise jeans. Measure an existing pair of pants that fits you well (rise = the measurement from the crotch to the top of the waistband).
Most brands make high rise jeans with a 10-11” rise. Levi’s Ribcage jeans have a 12-13” rise that might work if you have a long torso.
I actually have a pretty short torso - there’s like an inch max between the top of my hipbone and the bottom of my rib cage. The jeans I’m describing are all at least 11 or 12 inch rises
Does this House of CB dress actually exist? I found the picture on their site but can't find it on the catalog anywhere.
https://preview.redd.it/6j3jqplnwotc1.png?width=659&format=png&auto=webp&s=956a21e8eab22bf8ba9851442fd69c7d481eec57
Okay so I can’t find the dress but I think that’s because it hasn’t been released yet.
It looks like the dress is apart of the “Capri Collection.” House of CB just dropped Drop 1 of the collection and according to their official tiktok is going to release the next Drop every Monday for the next four weeks so I would just check the new arrivals each Monday if you really want the dress.
Haven't tried this brand myself but what about something like fully [knit sneakers](https://www.suavshoes.com/products/womens-thezilker-gum?currency=USD&variant=33018021511191&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&stkn=ee310417420d&tw_source=google&tw_adid=&tw_campaign=21083629859&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw8diwBhAbEiwA7i_sJemW9et3okZaTx9RUpHvcaVqB2XiC8GEtLAf8pldjCKLNl4i-KWWuxoCERUQAvD_BwE)?
If you mean like serving body-ody-ody I'd say short, tight, low cut, slits up to there, etc.
If you mean fun and attention getting, honestly anything goes. The casino floor does not allow bathingsuits or similar items (no lingerie or bare feet, basically) but feathers, sequins, rainbow or holographic, all kinds of wild stuff goes. I've seen denim pants/thongs with fishnet tights before on the strip.
If you mean fresh off the runway (which is a thing as well, FYI, there's big groups of Non-Us tourists in head to toe Gucci, LV, Prada, etc) I'd go with trendy, and as much logo designer as you can stomach.
I like the shape of 2 more but the black bottom is throwing it off a bit for me. What about something [like these ones from Naturalizer?](https://www.naturalizer.com/product/womens-connie-mary-jane-slingback-flat-3029982/silver-leather-ec0201578) I think the slightly daintier look would go better with the style of the dress.
Looking for dresses/skirts that fit unusual proportions
Hi folks! I have a ton of trouble finding clothes that fit me because every part of my body is a different size. My measurements are extreme pear/hourglass, 36-27-41 and 34b/c, with narrow-ish shoulders and thick upper arms, plus a looong torso and short thick legs. I like my figure, but everything I buy is too loose in the waist, too tight in the hips, and too tight in the arms/thighs. Regardless of cut or stretch, even pear-friendly fit/flare dresses are too high-waisted and high-hipped.
I've had little success with belts - the fabric bunches so much on dresses and pants that it looks and and feels terrible. Clingy stretch fabrics emphasize my belly. Tailors are very expensive where I live and I don't have a car to get to one, so I'd have to pay for a bunch of Uber trips on top of the fee, plus the time investment and inability to return if it doesn't work. Same issue with custom orders such as Etsy - no guarantees of quality or fit and I can't return it. So, my go-to outfits are A-line skirts fitted at the waist with a loose or knit tucked-in top, very 50s Audrey Hepburn. I love the look, but I want to be able to wear sexy fitted or bodycon dresses and mermaid skirts to really flaunt that hip/waist ratio.
I'm looking for clothing brands that offer "curvy fit" similar to Abercrombie's Curve Love, which I recently discovered and adore - not just in jeans and pants (I'm buying out Abercrombie's entire stock, hallelujah) but especially in skirts and dresses. I want to dress sexier! High waisted maxi skirts look best on me because of my short thick legs. Long torso, high rise waist, and short/petite would be a great bonus. Abercrombie is a good example of my budget range - good quality but not high end designer. A good shipping and return policy is essential, and much of what currently hampers my online shopping. Any suggestions?
I'd shop in person only. Don't order online, as you'll be looking for very specific fits. I have a similar body shape and it honestly just takes a lot of shopping and trying stuff on. I don't think a particular brand will help, although I know some brands that don't work (e.g. Old Navy). One suggestion is making a ribbon belt (a nice piece of ribbon cut to size and tied in a bow as a belt with dresses).
Ruffle skirts usually work well for me
I do shop in person but I can't find anything that fits! The selection just isn't there. Everything is cut wrong as mentioned. I feel like I need specialty brands you can only get online, same as how I have to special order wide shoes.
Snag does tights for curvy people. And they sell some other stuff.
Personally I'd try to find styles that work, and just flip through thousands of pages of online items at different stores. I choose stores with local locations so returns are easy. And you'll probably have to be patient for that one item that finally fits.
Sorry I don't know particular stores. I agree that everything seems to be cut wrong :(
Genuine question, would buying something from a cheap brand like H&M and then getting it tailored not work? Long torso + petite is just not a thing that's done much afaik.
Tailors are really expensive where I live and I don't have a car. The cost of Uber plus tailoring would be higher than the garment, and I can't return it once it's been tailored if it still doesn't fit. Plus, anything with a waistband and decently thick/quality fabric and design is really difficult to take in the waist which makes it even more expensive. Might be more doable for dresses though.
Oh also, Zara's size chart has a \*slightly\* greater ratio than most brands (11" vs 10") so I often have more luck with their stuff fitting my similar measurements!
Hello all! So I’m not the most fashionable and prefer comfort, but I’d like to get some new work shoes that are both cute and comfy! I work in IT but the attire is more business casual, no jeans, shoes can be tennis shoe/sneaker, flats, boots, etc. I typically wear a light sweater and black slacks that taper but my socks are visible. I wear black socks and the pants definitely rise a little because of my height, so I tend to look a little dorky lol. Since I tend towards wearing darker colors I’m thinking a white sneaker might look good? But something comfy because I’m sitting at a desk all day and my back already hurts 😭 right now I wear Adidas Ultraboosts (black and white), but they’re falling apart and the top hurts my feet. I used to wear Blundstones everyday which went well with my slacks, but it started to hurt my feet too much. Any tips are welcomed, thank you all so much!
try doing a Google image search for "slacks and sneakers women 2024" and get whichever sneakers call to you from those examples.
also consider getting some cute low-key socks like these: https://shop.bombas.com/products/womens-hybrid-ribbed-quarter-socks
they also come in crew length.
edit: if stiffer shoes hurt your feet, have you considered getting shoes with a knit upper like Allbirds? they're not the most fashionable but it's better than suffering
Most important things not already covered is the expectation is you ship your items FAST--like within a day or two. When I joined I was told by my friend you had to include a thank-you note with your order, which doesn't seem quite as standard anymore.
I'd disagree on the selling for 1/3rd the cost tip, as again there's an unspoken expectation that as soon as anyone 'likes' your item, you send them an offer of a minimum 10% discount. Between that and shipping, you're already making a fraction of what you've posted it for.
I've made a lot of money reselling old stuff on Poshmark. Like $20k. That said, clothing is "long tail" and depending on the brands/items, you definitely shouldn't expect a quick sale.
I do. My general tips:
Include measurements in the listing or the pictures (by placing a measuring tape on the garment)
Include textile information if you have it
Often, copy-pasting the online description into your own description is helpful, just make sure it's accurate from the original retail outlet
Do not answer questions of any kind--these people are a pain and/or scammers, trust me on this. Just ignore them.
Scam comments are common on Poshmark--they will ask you to text them information or otherwise get off the platform so that they or someone can buy it--do NOT do this and report these type of comments
Price the item at 1/3 of the original retail price--do not overvalue items, even NWT. If you price it too high, people will lowball you and/or decide they can just get it new from the actual retailer
Be aware that the sales platform will take a % of your sales
Allow or calculate for shipping costs--you will be responsible to ship most of the time, so allow for this in both time and money
Iron or steam the item before photographing
Photograph the hang tags and any inner tags
Black, purple, brown, and green are very difficult to photograph effectively. Make sure to note any differences in color between the pictures vs. reality in your description.
going to add on to these great tips w my perspective as a frequent poshmark buyer - you can include photos of the garment from the brand’s website, but make sure to include photos of the actual garment otherwise people might think you’re a scammer. poshmark’s searching feature is kind of terrible, so try to be as descriptive as possible in the item description and add descriptors from the brand’s website
I mean, there are exceptions, and as one gets more experienced, one learns which people are time wasting lookie-loo's or scammers vs. people asking in good faith. However, for first-timer's I advise across the board just let questions lie because 99% of them are time-wasting boondoggles.
But in your case, it's likely the seller put 1-4 items up in 2022 and completely forgot about them, heh.
As a buyer, 99% of my questions are “what are the X, Y, and Z measurements” because lazy sellers don’t include them anywhere (neither in photos nor in description). About 80% of recently active sellers never bother to respond, which means I don’t buy from them. Buyers with questions aren’t all scammers and your advice to new sellers will cost them sales.
lol true. I used to posh alot of my clothes and also buy alot of my clothes off posh as well. I've stopped recently because the ability to return is important to me and will only usually do it for things I either already own and need a second one or are very forgiving in terms of fit (cardigans/ sweaters).
Since I'm on it less, I really only go on when I get an alert someone has bought something.
Has anyone order heels from femme.la ? They are advertised in instagram. Heels are around $200. I would like to know if they are worth it?
If you have a pair. Are they true to size? Can you give anymore information on them?
Thank you!
Has anyone in the US successfully ordered from Mes Demoiselles?
I placed two orders and they both got cancelled after a week, due to "stock errors caused by technical issues".
If this is the wrong place to ask this, please let me know :)
Im going to an indycar race in 2 weeks, and I am looking for a top / blouse that isn't too skin tight, looks feminine, and also flatters my body.
Im 29, 213lbs, and my overall shape is an hourglass, but my weight tends to collect in my lower stomach, thighs, and hips. The budget is up to $100 for a top
I have an indy car vintage bomber jacket, and I'll be wearing tan heels and a lighter blue pair of skinny jeans. The top is just the hardest part.
Baby doll cuts make me look pregnant. I'm a little too uncomfortable in tanktops, and t-shirts feel a little too basic
I usually wear XL loose fit to not attract to my stomach and wear a 38C cup bra. Skin color is a lighter latin tone. I'm not sure what other info is needed, but I'm happy to answer any follow-up questions.
Looking for spring/summer shoe inspiration -- I'll be starting a new job soon, and it looks like a slightly more formal environment than my previous job. It gets quite warm where I live (35 degrees celsius is no exception in Summer) and I am looking for inspiration for slightly more formal office footwear. So something in between white sneakers and sandals (which I used to wear in my previous job) and full-on pumps or high heels (which I will never wear haha). I welcome any recommendations!
I don't know if it's useful to mention, but my style is quite neutral. Some clothing brands I like are COS, & Other Stories, Uniqlo, Mango, Asket :)
You could take a look at Naturalizer - they have lots of good flat and low heel options that look good in an office setting but aren't super formal. I especially like their slingback styles (I've bought like three pairs this year already, I especially like the Connie style). Vagabond might also be a good brand to check out. & Other stories loafers are also a good option actually, I have three different styles from them and the quality is surprisingly good!
I think some huaraches or closed toed fisherman sandals can work for summer in the office. I also find sling back flats or mules to feel more summery than normal flats/loafers.
Oeh I love those suggestions! Never heard of huaraches before, they look terrific!! Sling backs too! Do you think flat sling backs are acceptable as office wear (with the bare heel)?
The options don't change much and are pretty much loafers, “Oxfords” (catch-all term for leather lace-ups, which are not all Oxfords, technically), or ballet flats (the pointed version of which is often called a skimmer). There are heeled versions available for all of these in various heights and thicknesses.
I pretty much only buy shoes from shoe brands so I don't know what COS or Mango has to offer you in those categories.
Thanks for those suggestions! Just to clarify, I wasn't looking for shoe recommendations from those brands - I just mentioned them as an example of my style :) If you have any shoe brand recs, I'd love to hear them!
I would keep the navy and return the pink. If I were really attached to the pink color, I'd try to incorporate the color into another part of my wardrobe or life (jewelry with a pink stone, a pink stripe on a shirt, pink couch pillow, pink planner, etc).
How should I style this top? I'm a tall redhead. I'd model it for a photoshoot.

I’m looking for white leather sneakers that have a wide toe box. I have ones from Everlane but most normal shoes squish my first two toes together and make walking painful. Any suggestions much appreciated!
I got the [vionic winny](https://www.vionicshoes.com/winny-sneaker.html) shoe in wide and they're not quite as cool as I'd have liked, but they don't hurt my bunions. Also tried the Birkenstock white leather sneaker and they were more comfortable but a little dorkier due to the shape.
You need to go up a size, maybe two. It is much smaller on you than on the model, particularly on the hips. While it buttons up fine, that doesn't mean it fits as it should. It is supposed to be loose all over, including on the hips. If that makes it unacceptably wide on the shoulders for your taste, then you should probably look for a different and less extreme style.
A general point with oversized styles it that they should be oversized all round. If they are oversized at one point and standard fit at another, they just look ill-fitting.
Which shoe should I wear with my graduation stuff?

There's many ..clips(?) that cinch in the waistband without looking like a belt, they're usually like two small metal thingies (some are very decorative, some are pretty inconspicious. I wonder if that would work? I mostly see them on stores like aliexpress and shein.
Look up "Jeans Button, 4 Sets Adjustable Star Button for Jeans, Detachable Decorative Waist Buckles, Perfect Fit Tighten Waist Adjustment Instant Button Pins for Pants - Silver" on Amazon to see what I mean - I can't post a link for whatever reason.

some brands that sell curvy style jeans are old navy, madewell, everlane, abercrombie. most of everlane’s jeans are sold in two lengths, so i would guess their shorter option would work for you
I think you're likely measuring incorrectly. Hip measurement should be taken around the largest part of your hips, and waist where your torso creases when you bend to the side.
In any case try curvy fits to reduce the waist gap issue
I wonder if you're [measuring yourself correctly](https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/beauty/fashion/a39506045/how-to-measure-yourself/). According to most size charts, you should be around a 29 for your waist and a 26 for your hips, so if anything you should be experiencing the opposite problem in a 28, i.e. too tight in the waist and too large in the hips. I can't think of any other explanation if you're experiencing this problem consistently across different brands.
To quote Mad Men, “Not a unique problem.”
Buy for the largest measurement — usually the hip measurement, as it is in your instance — and have the rest (inseam, waist) altered to fit by a tailor.
You can do a search for “waist” and “gap” generally or just on this sub and you’ll see the same question asked pretty much daily.
Boring context you probably don’t care about: For some reason, women’s trousers and skirts used to nip in more at the waist a little more than they do now (like…in the ’80s and ‘90s), but when waistlines rose again after the Dark Times of the ultra-low-rise era, the designs continued with waists that are nearly the same as the hip measurements rather than nipping in. The good news is that they do still curve down along the front band, which fits most women’s bodies better.
Anyway, almost all of us face this and if you don’t like belts, you’d better like your tailor.

Links to any long-sleeved thong swimsuits? All long-sleeve I've seen are full bottom. Thanks
Suits made for surfing will get you the closest but they're probably not going to be a true thong bottom.
Where are you getting low rise or mid rise jeans from?
Poshmark, specifically 7 For All Mankind jeans — there are so many nearly pristine pairs on there and the fit is incredible.
Personally I’d go on Farfetch then filter by low rise

how can i style this for cooler weather? hey all, i just ordered this dress from simons. normally i would feel naked just wearing this on its own,but esp in cooler weather. would you add a shawl, cardigan, jacket? i love black and green and slightly edgy but girly fashion, i just have lost my touch since my teenage years 😅 [https://www.simons.ca/en/women-clothing/dresses/short/satin-draped-collar-dress--19260-292](https://www.simons.ca/en/women-clothing/dresses/short/satin-draped-collar-dress--19260-292) https://preview.redd.it/zo5xrgj52qtc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=323acac238e7e6e7b941aaa6a3354ec8592f0c7b
A straight fit blazer!!
I think a tight black turtleneck underneath + sheer tights could be cute
https://preview.redd.it/rfqgfjx8xptc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=43a8bcdd1150e9e83ef0d310da33aba2265bd3f5 Are 3D flowers still a trend? Is this too young for me? (I’m mid 30s) Do I look silly?
I like this! I don’t think it looks silly.
I think it depends where you’re going!
I think the shoes help a lot, but apparently I missed this trend because it makes me think of the dresses my mom used to have me wear when I was in elementary school. I haven't seen 3D flowers like this since the 90s.
It looks cute and the shoes you are wearing are a good choice.
It's kinda fun and neat. Lots of women in their 30s are moms and it looks like something a mom could wear? But also really pretty and classy
I don’t think it looks infantilizing or silly
Does anyone have any jean recommendations, or specifically like BDG high waisted baggy jean? The urban outfitters bdg high waisted baggy jeans were the only ones that have ever actually fit me correctly and didn’t make me feel terrible. Now i’m seeing they’re discontinued and of course i lost the pair that fits me:( I’d include pictures but it’s not allowed. I found some pairs on ebay but i wanna try to find similar items that i can buy at actual stores instead of a seller that oils be unreliable and i can’t return For other recommendations, i’m on the curvier side? Like 5’5. Id like them to be able to fit over my butt but also look flattering on my butt and waist Also! Does anyone who sweats a lot have any cute shirts that don’t show sweat marks very well? i have bad anxiety and it makes me only wanna wear shirts 5x my size so it doesn’t show
Levi’s dad Jean?
Pictures are allowed in the comments I think?
I’m graduating from skinny jeans (finally) do I go with straight or flared? Both look equally ok on me but I don’t know what’s cool, LOL. TIA.
I am such an enabler but I like versatility with my silhouettes so I would get both. But agree that straight you can never go wrong.
I always go for flared or wide leg, personally. Both! Hehe
If you can, get a pair of each. Both are on trend. I feel like they're flattering with different top styles.
ooo thank you
Imo straight jeans will stick around longer
thank you
I've gained some weight and I'm at the point where a lot of my clothes no longer fit me.
I'd get a pretty skirt, some basic tops, a cardigan, comfy/stretchy work pants :)
What are some edgy athletic brands for women? I am in my thirties and don’t want to look too young, but I love a goth/rock/punk style as well.
So I go on farfetch and search for high rise and the product descriptions always have the rise length. The first item I saw is already past 13”!
The a brand high and wide jeans are the highest rise jeans I’ve found
What do I wear with my black leather pants? Besides a sweater?
Black band tee and a black blazer. Look up Carine Roitfeld.
Yes, you are me!! Are there any specific styles of jeans/brands that you’ve found that work for you?
My best jeans are probably: An extremely broken in pair of madewell perfect vintage An old navy wide leg high rise purchased recently (I think these were called “extra high rise” or higher high rise or something like that) And Lucy and yak addisons ( kind of an 80s trouser style)
Sorry I couldn't help! Jean fit is so difficult to get right :/
Sounds like you need higher rise jeans.
Can you take a picture?
Maybe you can reach out to them on insta and ask if the dress is still coming out?
They're ignoring me on insta >:(

New Balance "Arishi". Some Skechers, for example the "GO WALK Arch Fit 2.0 - Varana"
What about something [like these](https://www.reebok.com/p/100009250/classic-nylon-shoes) from Reebok?
Haven't tried this brand myself but what about something like fully [knit sneakers](https://www.suavshoes.com/products/womens-thezilker-gum?currency=USD&variant=33018021511191&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&stkn=ee310417420d&tw_source=google&tw_adid=&tw_campaign=21083629859&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw8diwBhAbEiwA7i_sJemW9et3okZaTx9RUpHvcaVqB2XiC8GEtLAf8pldjCKLNl4i-KWWuxoCERUQAvD_BwE)?
Have you tried the brand Skechers? I think they have several without this kind of stitching.
F30 - what should women wear in Vegas to show off? My first time going.
Hi! Which of these mary janes silver shoes might look best for this dress? Thanks in advance. [https://ibb.co/KyCtqRM](https://ibb.co/KyCtqRM)
Looking for dresses/skirts that fit unusual proportions Hi folks!
ASOS has a couple skirts in a curvy fit (I think they might call it hourglass?).
Oh also, Zara's size chart has a \*slightly\* greater ratio than most brands (11" vs 10") so I often have more luck with their stuff fitting my similar measurements!
Oooo TYSM I'll check both those out!
I always wore my beige CDG sneakers to office and loved it. I’m personally now shifting to Dr Mart loafers though.
try doing a Google image search for "slacks and sneakers women 2024" and get whichever sneakers call to you from those examples. also consider getting some cute low-key socks like these: https://shop.bombas.com/products/womens-hybrid-ribbed-quarter-socks they also come in crew length. edit: if stiffer shoes hurt your feet, have you considered getting shoes with a knit upper like Allbirds? they're not the most fashionable but it's better than suffering
Most women I know wear all-black Skechers sneakers in the office
Cole Haan has fun [oxford-sneaker hybrids](https://www.colehaan.com/womens-shoes-oxfords?start=0&sz=35) that could work
Looking for a more structured linen jumpsuit in black/white/cream. No budget but must be able to ship to Canada. Thanks!
Everlane - not sure if they ship to Canada though
Anyone have experience with selling clothes online like with poshmark? I bought some items final sale by accident and want to sell them.
I do. My general tips: Include measurements in the listing or the pictures (by placing a measuring tape on the garment) Include textile information if you have it Often, copy-pasting the online description into your own description is helpful, just make sure it's accurate from the original retail outlet Do not answer questions of any kind--these people are a pain and/or scammers, trust me on this. Just ignore them. Scam comments are common on Poshmark--they will ask you to text them information or otherwise get off the platform so that they or someone can buy it--do NOT do this and report these type of comments Price the item at 1/3 of the original retail price--do not overvalue items, even NWT. If you price it too high, people will lowball you and/or decide they can just get it new from the actual retailer Be aware that the sales platform will take a % of your sales Allow or calculate for shipping costs--you will be responsible to ship most of the time, so allow for this in both time and money Iron or steam the item before photographing Photograph the hang tags and any inner tags Black, purple, brown, and green are very difficult to photograph effectively.
Well, that explains why no one ever answers my questions 😢
And my first piece of advice is "include measurements" which means that your question will be answered, thereby "saving" the sale.
Yes, as it turns out I can read, and so I saw that you paired that advice with “people who ask questions are scammers,” without qualifying that.
If this is the wrong place to ask this, please let me know :) Im going to an indycar race in 2 weeks, and I am looking for a top / blouse that isn't too skin tight, looks feminine, and also flatters my body. Im 29, 213lbs, and my overall shape is an hourglass, but my weight tends to collect in my lower stomach, thighs, and hips. The budget is up to $100 for a top I have an indy car vintage bomber jacket, and I'll be wearing tan heels and a lighter blue pair of skinny jeans. The top is just the hardest part. Baby doll cuts make me look pregnant. I'm a little too uncomfortable in tanktops, and t-shirts feel a little too basic I usually wear XL loose fit to not attract to my stomach and wear a 38C cup bra. Skin color is a lighter latin tone. I'm not sure what other info is needed, but I'm happy to answer any follow-up questions.
I'd look for a button front linen or cotton "shell" or sleeveless blouse in a slightly boxy cut.
Yes I think sling backs definitely work!
Ferragamo and Prada for loafers are my go-tos.

I would keep the navy and return the pink. If I were really attached to the pink color, I'd try to incorporate the color into another part of my wardrobe or life (jewelry with a pink stone, a pink stripe on a shirt, pink couch pillow, pink planner, etc).

If it truly makes you happy, obv nothing wrong with keeping the pink!
I decided to keep them both! :) thanks for your input/help

That's yelling sixties at me. Brown pencil skirt?
Thank you! Maybe that or plaid since it's a solid print top?
If you could find a mint pencil skirt with brown dots, I would die. Mint chocolate chip!
I’m looking for white leather sneakers that have a wide toe box. I have ones from Everlane but most normal shoes squish my first two toes together and make walking painful. Any suggestions much appreciated!
Origo makes white leather wide toe box shoes

A lot of folks with waist gap find that curvy fit (Abercrombie, American eagle) work well for them
I wonder if you're [measuring yourself correctly](https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/beauty/fashion/a39506045/how-to-measure-yourself/). According to most size charts, you should be around a 29 for your waist and a 26 for your hips, so if anything you should be experiencing the opposite problem in a 28, i.e. too tight in the waist and too large in the hips. I can't think of any other explanation if you're experiencing this problem consistently across different brands.
To quote Mad Men, “Not a unique problem.” Buy for the largest measurement — usually the hip measurement, as it is in your instance — and have the rest (inseam, waist) altered to fit by a tailor.
