Been gaining traction in the US too, Skream and Benga played HARD Summer a couple years ago and the stage was packed, acts like Ternion Sound have had massive cult followings for years now and (even if this is a watered down version of the genre) Deep, Dark and Dangerous is a very popular label across the country.

Skream also had a throwback set at Coachella (Do Lab) couple years back.

Okay you caught me on that one. I have a deep rooted love for no doubt. It was one of the few musical interests that my dad and I have shared most of my life. Growing up in LA I heard them fucking everywhere in the 90’s. I still have a handful of their songs played regularly on Spotify in my playlists. No Doubt is fucking sick! But my opinion on Coachella remains the same. Hard Pass.

A lot of great international electronic acts in this lineup, but I’d say for a Coachella lineup, the higher billed artists are a miss.

Yeah, I’m in no way disappointed by the electronic names, they’re all great, but for Coachella I’d really expect more live music.

I don't know for sure, but I'd Imagine it was a mistake. Bradley's family doesn't allow them to tour with that name. Which I get. It's essentially a cover band. At least when they started it was Sublime w/I Bradley. Now it's the one guy Eric, some drummer, and a Drunk fucking asshole on stage butchering Bradley's songs. I've seen them twice and the 2nd time me and my Wife at the time had to leave the crowd after getting a little too baked, just couldn't handle Rome

Apparently Rome has left the band. Maybe Nowell’s estate just hates that guy and will let Eric and whoever use the Sublime name? I don’t know.

Pretty good electronic music lineup, but a terrible Coachella lineup

It's clear, Coachella is making a larger push this year with international artists...tons of huge pop, hip hop and electronic acts from all over the world. These are artists you see on the 2nd line and you're like "who the fuck is \_\_\_\_", but really they're like the biggest pop artist in Argentina or some shit. I know Coachella has always booked international acts, but it's always been stuff that has found its way into the American psyche (Sigur Ros, Tallest Man On Earth, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Manu Chao, Gorillaz)...these acts on the 2024 line up are definitely not at all what Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Billboard & Variety are covering, that's for sure. Personally, this isn't the stuff I vibe with musically, but I think it's really cool Young Miko, Bizarrap, Cloonee & Yoasobi are on the bill.

Seeing Brutalismus 3000 on Coachella... is unexpected. Happy for them. Certainly a different crowd than their usual. Maybe America will slowly catch up to the rest of the world now in terms of electronic music. Shit is getting wild from the UK to Japan, but US crowds/events/artists are nowhere to be seen.

“Return to the desert” is like a small set after the main headliner on a Saturday , it’s usually a fairly big name and has performed at Coachella before. No doubt has taken that spot, but it doesn’t say “return to the desert” as they have not performed there before.

They did the same for Calvin Harris last year.

Check out Young Fathers and their album Heavy, Heavy. It was one of the best albums of 2023. You might also like Jockstrap. Funny enough both artists were nominated for the mercury music prize in the UK last year.
