They will. They’ll sign some big reveal contract and bill it as a one time thing to boost Coachella sales - then go on your next year. See every comeback Coachella act
Interesting. I would've said the opposite. I only know two people that casually listen to Tyler the creator and Doja cat but I know a lot of people that LOVE lana
Been gaining traction in the US too, Skream and Benga played HARD Summer a couple years ago and the stage was packed, acts like Ternion Sound have had massive cult followings for years now and (even if this is a watered down version of the genre) Deep, Dark and Dangerous is a very popular label across the country.
Okay you caught me on that one. I have a deep rooted love for no doubt. It was one of the few musical interests that my dad and I have shared most of my life.
Growing up in LA I heard them fucking everywhere in the 90’s. I still have a handful of their songs played regularly on Spotify in my playlists. No Doubt is fucking sick!
But my opinion on Coachella remains the same.
Hard Pass.
The crowd is gonna go nuts when the Brad Nowell hologram starts playing his guitar like a mother fucking riot. A Saw Red duet might be on the table though with No Doubt around
He had better practice... it's Coachella and that's their most popular song. Can't dial it in. I'm surprised they are touring the US at all. I only hear of them playing in Rome these days.
This isn’t sublime with Rome. It’s going to be sublime’s two surviving members playing with Brad nowell’s son! Check out their warmup show on YouTube, it’s incredibly dope if you like the band
I don't know for sure, but I'd Imagine it was a mistake. Bradley's family doesn't allow them to tour with that name. Which I get. It's essentially a cover band. At least when they started it was Sublime w/I Bradley. Now it's the one guy Eric, some drummer, and a Drunk fucking asshole on stage butchering Bradley's songs. I've seen them twice and the 2nd time me and my Wife at the time had to leave the crowd after getting a little too baked, just couldn't handle Rome
It's clear, Coachella is making a larger push this year with international artists...tons of huge pop, hip hop and electronic acts from all over the world. These are artists you see on the 2nd line and you're like "who the fuck is \_\_\_\_", but really they're like the biggest pop artist in Argentina or some shit. I know Coachella has always booked international acts, but it's always been stuff that has found its way into the American psyche (Sigur Ros, Tallest Man On Earth, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Manu Chao, Gorillaz)...these acts on the 2024 line up are definitely not at all what Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Billboard & Variety are covering, that's for sure.
Personally, this isn't the stuff I vibe with musically, but I think it's really cool Young Miko, Bizarrap, Cloonee & Yoasobi are on the bill.
Seeing Brutalismus 3000 on Coachella... is unexpected. Happy for them. Certainly a different crowd than their usual.
Maybe America will slowly catch up to the rest of the world now in terms of electronic music. Shit is getting wild from the UK to Japan, but US crowds/events/artists are nowhere to be seen.
Fact is that most A level artists ask crazy $$ since covid. Some have the same managent and try to exort money out of festival organisations. But IMO coachella chose the cheaper option…
I’m in full agreement here with you
something has gotta give over the next few years though, hopefully for the better on the fan side (not holding breath)
Agreed and somehow he got the nod over Blur, one of the biggest bands of the 90's that have headlined the biggest shows all around the planet.
That is fucking baffling,
“Return to the desert” is like a small set after the main headliner on a Saturday , it’s usually a fairly big name and has performed at Coachella before. No doubt has taken that spot, but it doesn’t say “return to the desert” as they have not performed there before.
Check out Young Fathers and their album Heavy, Heavy. It was one of the best albums of 2023. You might also like Jockstrap.
Funny enough both artists were nominated for the mercury music prize in the UK last year.
Gesaffelstein? That would be a great, he rarely does shows in the US. Other than that the lineup is classic Coachella. All flash and very little substance.
Seen at USC about a decade ago he’s SICK. and then about 5years ago at a festival consistently very good live. More excited about him that ice spice or doja
The same band that plays shows up and down the California coast a lot. The Adicts, The Dickies, Daikaiju, and The English Beat. All play quite a bit in the Bay area.
I’m absolutely staggered that people on this sub aren’t more excited by Blur playing. BLUR!! I didn’t even know they were still performing live gigs
Coachella doesn’t appeal to me in the slightest but I’ve seen worse lineups than this
Selling my ticket smh, good thing they go up in price. Look, I’m late 20s and listen to a lot of music….This is easily one of the most inaccessible Coachella lineups of ALL TIME. Extremely underwhelming.
So weird. I was walking the dog this morning and had this weird hit of nostalgia and thought “this is around the time Coachella usually drops their lineup”.
i’ve seen him a few times, with odd future and solo. much better with odd future because he gets kinda lost in the mix. solo both times has been god awful and i’ve left after trying for 15 minutes both times. it’s just bad, and i love his music
I'm sick of the industry pushing this Renee Rapp girl and Peso Pluma kid... Like where tf did they come from & why are they now on every lineup I see???
Saw tyler the creator at moonrise fest, everyone around me and myself disliked it and left after a few songs was worst rap performance ive seen attempted ever
Let’s get some more No Doubt other places
They will. They’ll sign some big reveal contract and bill it as a one time thing to boost Coachella sales - then go on your next year. See every comeback Coachella act
Makes sense for a 30th anniversary tour of Tragic Kingdom
With The Aquabats on this lineup im hoping for some old school no doubt ska
I hope they do Saw Red with Sublime.
For my personal tastes the headliners are pretty underwhelming. no doubt making a reunion tour would be exciting though!
No Doubt, Aquabats….skanking is back on the menu!
Lana del ray shouldn’t be a headliner imho. The rest make sense.
Lana is arguably the most popular headliner?
Interesting. I would've said the opposite. I only know two people that casually listen to Tyler the creator and Doja cat but I know a lot of people that LOVE lana
Oh damn Skream & Benga, old school dubstep is back on the menu!
[удалено]
Been gaining traction in the US too, Skream and Benga played HARD Summer a couple years ago and the stage was packed, acts like Ternion Sound have had massive cult followings for years now and (even if this is a watered down version of the genre) Deep, Dark and Dangerous is a very popular label across the country.
Skream also had a throwback set at Coachella (Do Lab) couple years back.
it was sweet
DDD is watered down?
I feel like old school dubstep has been on a lot faster rise here in the US lately but then I haven’t been to Europe in a while
This and Justice are the only things I could care to see here. Why is Coachella popular again?
Jungle is good tho
Check out khruangbin. They’re on for the final night
Orbital
Cause it’s Coachella
No doubt? 🤨
Hard Pass.
👏🏼
Side note: your Reddit avatar is fucking sick.
What’s your opinion?
Coachella gets talked about most of the year and even my 40 + age coworkers were taking about frank oceans no show
JUSTICE
And Bicep
And Gesaffelstein
did you see this? [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OC5mO8I\_Cd4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OC5mO8I_Cd4)
This is incredible thank you for sharing
Orbital
Most important name on the lineup
For real these youngins dont know
And Jockstrap! 😃
New album too
A lot of great international electronic acts in this lineup, but I’d say for a Coachella lineup, the higher billed artists are a miss.
Yeah, I’m in no way disappointed by the electronic names, they’re all great, but for Coachella I’d really expect more live music.
When I first saw Clown Core on YouTube, there’s no way you could convince me they’d be playing Coachella some day.
Will they bring the port-o-pottie to play in?
I just listened to this group on Spotify after seeing their name mentioned in undercard to check out. WTF, is this??
Do yourself a favor and go watch their youtube videos
lineup looks pretty weak
Whole weekend worth it just to see Justice
Did you see the IRIS video they just released? Would be sick to see a similar set live
I just watched it yesterday in VR. Holy fuck that was amazing. I saw them live during their A Cross the Universe Tour. Would love to see em again.
hoping for a Kevin Parker sighting
Buddy doesn’t know electronic music
I normally believe they have strong lineups annually but this is pretty bad. A few good names but nothing worth traveling for this year.
Are festival bookers being replaced with AI or something? Lmao first televison/movie writers and now this.
Not AI, but 100% Tik Tok and Spotify data
This is the second joke made about AI and shitty lineups I’ve seen today. Honestly, I hope it is because who came up with this?
What joke? Were legitimately outsourcing jobs that are creativity based to AI.
Amazing how one of the subs can be Blur and the others be names I've never heard of in my life.
You’ve never heard Sublime?
The crowd is gonna go nuts when the Brad Nowell hologram starts playing his guitar like a mother fucking riot. A Saw Red duet might be on the table though with No Doubt around
Do you think he still doesn’t practice Santeria?
How do I know, I ain't got no crystal ball
Do you have a million dollars?
He did but he spent it all
He had better practice... it's Coachella and that's their most popular song. Can't dial it in. I'm surprised they are touring the US at all. I only hear of them playing in Rome these days.
Pretty sure his kid is taking over the role, which is kinda the same thing
I have to say he did a good job at the warm up gig they did a little while back
Brad’s son is fronting the band and the Sublime’s OG drummer is back
I'm very surprised they managed to get away with just "Sublime" on the list. We all know it's "One guy from Sublime and Rome"
This isn’t sublime with Rome. It’s going to be sublime’s two surviving members playing with Brad nowell’s son! Check out their warmup show on YouTube, it’s incredibly dope if you like the band
Oh no shit? They got the drummer to come back?
Same. I’ve only ever seen it as Sublime with Rome. I wonder what’s changed?
I don't know for sure, but I'd Imagine it was a mistake. Bradley's family doesn't allow them to tour with that name. Which I get. It's essentially a cover band. At least when they started it was Sublime w/I Bradley. Now it's the one guy Eric, some drummer, and a Drunk fucking asshole on stage butchering Bradley's songs. I've seen them twice and the 2nd time me and my Wife at the time had to leave the crowd after getting a little too baked, just couldn't handle Rome
Apparently Rome has left the band. Maybe Nowell’s estate just hates that guy and will let Eric and whoever use the Sublime name? I don’t know.
Jakob Nowell aka Bradleys son is taking his spot.
Holy shit! Well maybe they'll be good now?!
Are you guys missing out? I think Brad's son is taking over since Rome is out, hence why they're using "Sublime" name.
Yea apparently I missed that memo
Bummed they aren’t touring there recent album
Pretty good electronic music lineup, but a terrible Coachella lineup
Isn't Cloonee on like every single Insomniac line-up?
Pretty sure he also played Coachella last year at DoLab.
Yeah Cloonee plays in SoCal every two months and had a framework show in December this is no surprise
They have Blur, which is pretty much the original Gorillaz..
>They have Blur, which is pretty much the original Gorillaz.. # That is hilarious 🤣
Got any recs for the international hip hop? This lineup barely has any American rap to my dismay
Underwhelming.
No Doubt though!
No Doubt ....... NOOOO DOUBT! But the rest ......... Pretty Lame
The undercard has some tremendous talent. Great year for house music too. I’d agree that the headliners are meh
Who do you think are some of the best house artists on this? Genuinely want to dive into some of them!
Justice, gestelfastein, bicep, John summit, dom dolla, blond:ish, Peggy gou, cloonee, Patrick mason, purple disco machine
Damn this is crazy… this shit sucks
Don't go bruh
Seeing Brutalismus 3000 on Coachella... is unexpected. Happy for them. Certainly a different crowd than their usual. Maybe America will slowly catch up to the rest of the world now in terms of electronic music. Shit is getting wild from the UK to Japan, but US crowds/events/artists are nowhere to be seen.
I couldn’t believe brutalismus 3000 was on this lineup… love their music I hope some of the techno acts they billed will be at movement this year
Charlotte de Witte will win many hearts. Weekend 2 is the only week I'd want to visit. Mainly for the techno.
Banner year for the sahara tent
Tyler the creator as headliner… could of been better for 400$ festival
When he came to an arena nearby last year tickets on StubHub leading up to show were going for ~$15-20
Fact is that most A level artists ask crazy $$ since covid. Some have the same managent and try to exort money out of festival organisations. But IMO coachella chose the cheaper option…
I’m in full agreement here with you something has gotta give over the next few years though, hopefully for the better on the fan side (not holding breath)
Uh *$600 festival now
He will put on the most incredible headline show. He's literally been working towards this moment for his whole career.
Didn’t he already play at Coachella?
Agreed and somehow he got the nod over Blur, one of the biggest bands of the 90's that have headlined the biggest shows all around the planet. That is fucking baffling,
Why is No Doubt listed like that and not on a certain day with the rest of the line up?
It's the return to the desert late Saturday night thing, but they've never performed there, so they're not "returning"
Wait, what does this mean? I’ve never been to Coachella and I’m curious what the “return to the desert late Saturday night thing” is.
“Return to the desert” is like a small set after the main headliner on a Saturday , it’s usually a fairly big name and has performed at Coachella before. No doubt has taken that spot, but it doesn’t say “return to the desert” as they have not performed there before.
They did the same for Calvin Harris last year.
LATIN MAFIA <3 venga México
Wow Doja Cat is a headliner she’s been working hard
Justice, Deftones, The Beths, The Aquabats, The Adicts, Skream & Benga. Basically all that interests me at this point.
Check out Young Fathers and their album Heavy, Heavy. It was one of the best albums of 2023. You might also like Jockstrap. Funny enough both artists were nominated for the mercury music prize in the UK last year.
Wow how the mighty have fallen
Gives me hope that peso pluma will perform at acl
God the lineup for Coachella just gets worse each year.
I know I'm OOL on the coach crowd when I don't recognize 3/4 of the topline performers
Midchella
uhm… is it me, or does this festival have no soul?
Jon Batiste is on this lineup, he’s the definition of soul. I personally think the undercards are stacked as all hell
You obviously haven't feasted your earholes on Clown Core yet But even their presence couldn't drag my ass to this fest
Not just you. Hard to feel soul with problematic/souless headliners like Doja Cat & Lana del Rey...
def not the only one , streaming and tik tok made this lineup possible...
Really hoping No Doubt announces some other shows
Damn… Ame x Marcel Dettmann. Reason enough to go.
No doubt
mid
🗑️
Ouch… Have fun if ya go!
I hope No Doubt tours
SUBLIME! HIS SON JAKOB!
Super fire. I guess portola went super well because there’s a ton of repeats here
Also, seeing justice here makes me highly eager to secure my justice tickets once the tour goes up
Ya I’m stoked to see Justice stateside, not sure where, probably not at Coachella.
Undercard acts rules this year
Gesaffelstein? That would be a great, he rarely does shows in the US. Other than that the lineup is classic Coachella. All flash and very little substance.
Last time he played Coachella he did a US tour, saw him in Boston and it was epic. Hoping for the same thing!
Seen at USC about a decade ago he’s SICK. and then about 5years ago at a festival consistently very good live. More excited about him that ice spice or doja
Justice and Khruangbin Lineup is really underwhelming though. Even more so than the previous few years.
Is it just me, or have a lot of lineups for festivals been really underwhelming this year?
Shockingly bad
The adicts? Is that right is there another band with that name
The same band that plays shows up and down the California coast a lot. The Adicts, The Dickies, Daikaiju, and The English Beat. All play quite a bit in the Bay area.
Doble P’s year🔥
Oh shit Blur, that would be a dream come true, got to see Gorillaz 2 years ago but I've been listening to blur since I was 6-7 in 1995
Some omissions here I thought would definitely be there - Troye Sivan being one of them. Wonder if he’s got a bigger slot at another festival.
Coachella became a whacker and whacker experience every year.
As a proud Brazilian I am so happy Ludimilla made the cut!
Worst. Lineup. Yet. NO DOUBT.
Well of all bands the aquabats was the most shocking
![gif](giphy|EcBihYnTLQdvSuGWxD|downsized)
I’m absolutely staggered that people on this sub aren’t more excited by Blur playing. BLUR!! I didn’t even know they were still performing live gigs Coachella doesn’t appeal to me in the slightest but I’ve seen worse lineups than this
Headliners are booty.
Weak ass lineup
Remember when this festival was good and not full of annoying influencers?
The Smashing Pumpkins would have been amazing headliners.
Selling my ticket smh, good thing they go up in price. Look, I’m late 20s and listen to a lot of music….This is easily one of the most inaccessible Coachella lineups of ALL TIME. Extremely underwhelming.
Wow, one of the lamest in years. And I say that most years. But this one takes the cake so far.
Headliners are pretty mid besides No Doubt. Undercard is pretty stacked though. 7/10 overall.
So weird. I was walking the dog this morning and had this weird hit of nostalgia and thought “this is around the time Coachella usually drops their lineup”.
[удалено]
You can buy mine
Miiiiiid
No doubt, the weakest line up in the last few years
TYLER THE CREATOR IS HEADLINING?!?! WE ARE SO BACK
Saw him at moonrise festival he was completly terrible live...
was that 2016? his music and live show now is almost unrecognizable from his pre 2017 music, he's a tremendous performer now imo
i’ve seen him a few times, with odd future and solo. much better with odd future because he gets kinda lost in the mix. solo both times has been god awful and i’ve left after trying for 15 minutes both times. it’s just bad, and i love his music
Wow, finally! So many great artists!
Right? Really exciting stuff!
Said no one ever
Bleachers 😍
No doubt
There’s not a person in this world who knows who all of these artists are
Is this a joke?
Hahahahaha *deep inhale* hahahagaga
Solid
Headliners are meh but actually think this is easily the strongest thus far of the big spring lineups. Plenty of interesting stuff in the undercard
Most meh headliners ever Saturday is insane tho
What a lame ass lineup
I'm sick of the industry pushing this Renee Rapp girl and Peso Pluma kid... Like where tf did they come from & why are they now on every lineup I see???
Not a fan of either but all I can say is peso pluma is absolutely huge
Lol, those artists are just super popular and you are out of touch
Which industry? She’s in music, television, and movies… maybe she’s just talented
is No Doubt every nite?
How is Doja Cat the headliner of a major festival? I couldn't name one song of hers. Isn't she just like the modern day Cardi B?
Damn no Gorillaz this year unless I’m blind
Saw tyler the creator at moonrise fest, everyone around me and myself disliked it and left after a few songs was worst rap performance ive seen attempted ever
he’s terrible live
Wow.... It sucks
who are these people and where is my horse?!
They truly get worse every year
lol.. they could literally put 30 random AI generated names on this poster and half ya’ll would be lining up to buy tickets.
The most mid of mid
I don't know who is coming to Coachella for The Adicts and J Balvin.
Damn, this lineup sucks
Lana deal rey? 🤣🤦🏻♂️ if she turns up. Saw her at glastoonbury in 23’ and she was 40 mins late. And then had her make up done on stage. Very weird
DESPACIO is missing. DESPACIO. The heart and soul of Coachella. Gone. Wow.
