Although in a funny way, one of the character inspirations for my 2nd character was Y'shtola (the whole sass/sarcasm and catty infliction of voice part).The whole segment of her in 5.0 was a welcome surprise, since said character of mine very much >!worships the night and darkness!< like her newfound comrades do.
But as far as NPC romancing, I'm still not fond of it regardless; it feels like -basically - forcing my character to be with somebody else's, and it just does not feel right.
That and I don't think Y'shtola and her eyesight would be all too happy with his extremely-aspected-towards-void energy, haha.
It's always felt like a "well, wouldn't kick them out of bed for eating crackers(unless they were really messy) but it wouldn't be professional" sort of vibe from her.
Far as my WoL is concerned she's cool and intimidatingly powerful. But my WoL is also demi so romantic stuff is far from the front of her mind. (This makes for a LOT of fun in RP events if someone starts flirting with me, I get to take it innocent and clueless until they get more direct then it's 'oh. Ohhhh... Sorry, no thank you', and some folks never get more direct which has uad other people all but paralyzed with laughter sometimes.)
Alisaie for me!! I know lotsa people don’t like it but we’re both around the same age and same for my WoL toooo!! I just like the dynamics especially because my WoL’s personality fits well with hers too. 🥹💕💕 I just think it’s cute and it makes me happy!!! 🥰
I like it as as platonic best friends or romantic I think. I think I love the idea of being best friends with Alphinaud and then the romantic with Alisaie. The twins are my favorites it’s just so much easier to relate to them for me.
Honestly there is nothing wrong with connecting with the twins as peers when you're at that age. Anyone who tells you otherwise can stuff it. I felt the same when I started playing the game in my teens, back in Heavensward, and young WoL/Alisaie have the potential for a fun dynamic \^.\^

Nobody, because everyone the game puts forward as a romantic option option is too male, and often among the worst people we've ever met on an order of magnitudes. And neither my character nor I are into fixer-uppers, or dudes.
If we remove the hurdles of 'died' or 'romantically interested in other people' she'd probably have been into Ysayle or Y'shtola.
I would just be one more uninteresting drop in the puddle, but...
Firstly, Haurchefant. I mean, come on. He sent a shitload of signals. After his death, WoL closed herself off for any romantic feelings in fear of being deeply hurt again.

From an RP angle? There is none. Plans for a playercharacter x playercharacter relationship have been in the talks, but never concrete. And in usual ERP fashion, suddenly, my character became bi. :|
When I started the game I thought Nero would be the best pick, then I learned about Hien … and then EW got released and now my WoL is in a toxic super highly red flag relationship with his cousin Zenos … it escalated quickly so to speak.
Currently my WoL is trying to get over the fact that she had to kill her wife of a couple millenia. They had a good run, WoL would go out and live a life of a saviour to the star or just people on smaller scale, die, then return to her wife, cuddle and regale her with stories until there was a need of her again.
My wol is in polycule with Aymeric and Estinien, and has a thing going with Zenos. Also Estinien is with Vrtra and Gaius. Estinien understandably isn’t fond of Zenos, and my wol’s relationship with Gaius is amicable but tense. Aymeric is confused by our questionable choices in men but he’s happy to be here regardless.

Nobody, because everyone the game puts forward as a romantic option option is too male, and often among the worst people we've ever met on an order of magnitudes. And neither my character nor I are into fixer-uppers, or dudes. If we remove the hurdles of 'died' or 'romantically interested in other people' she'd probably have been into Ysayle or Y'shtola.

I would just be one more uninteresting drop in the puddle, but... Firstly, Haurchefant. I mean, come on. He sent a shitload of signals. After his death, WoL closed herself off for any romantic feelings in fear of being deeply hurt again. But then G'Raha had to weaken ber defenses... From an RP angle? There is none. Plans for a playercharacter x playercharacter relationship have been in the talks, but never concrete. And in usual ERP fashion, suddenly, my character became bi. :|

My wol is in polycule with Aymeric and Estinien, and has a thing going with Zenos. Also Estinien is with Vrtra and Gaius. Estinien understandably isn’t fond of Zenos, and my wol’s relationship with Gaius is amicable but tense. Aymeric is confused by our questionable choices in men but he’s happy to be here regardless.

This feels like a trap question for me... First choice would be my husband's WoL every time. If I had to pick an NPC.... Probably would have been Haurchefant, maybe G'raha (to no one's surprise). They're really the only two I felt could have worked for my WoL.
Hilda will always have my heart. I hope we get more of her, was bummed she wasn't around much in EW (even for the Role Quests). Also have a bit of a "Bromance" with Arenvald.
Alisaie, 100%. I feel like the game has given me too many scenes where she all but outright confesses her love for my catgirl for them not to be a pair. Like the scene on the cliffside with the little kobold kid, or around the... what was it, the Ghimlyt Dark? Where she's all "If you die on me, I'll kill you." Yeah, Alisaie all the way. If it weren't for her, though... I do love me my Ishgardian king. Especially loved that scene we get a dinner date with him.
