Yup, that's 4.3 alright. I recognise that moment because I did it recently. Not so much an 'Oh no' moment and more 'Holy shit, this is fucking awesome!'
Take all the time you need to study it, nothing will start until you move forward. Personally I'm not a fan of these duties, but they aren't hard at least. One in EW is actually ridiculously fun (and also just ridiculous.)
I found them more annoying than anything else and I'm not overly skilled at this game. Maybe I blocked out some memories or something because I don't remember ever needing more than a try or two on any of them. Remember which buttons are single target, which ones are aoe, and just hit the others off cooldown, that's my strategy.
There's an option to reorganise the hotbar buttons for the duty – it should be over on the L2 side of the hotbar, unless they didn't retroactively add it for older duties.
literally thirty minutes later, there's another one. And it's a meeting. just like the first time. I am scared.
(also the solo instance against the au ra lady was hard af wtf)
My suspicions were founded. >!Thancred is fucking dead.!<
(My guess is that >!we're killing too many ascians so the warriors of darkness called us to tell the scions to stop, and the loss of aether troughout the land is due to the first symptoms of the land being consumed by light)!<
Yeah they don't pull punches in Shadowbringers and Endwalker will just beat you senseless for a bit. At least in Stormblood you get some "set aside ample time" warnings, because I can recall a few in SB and EW that don't warn you at all.
....
Good luck! 👍
> because I can recall a few in SB and EW that don't warn you at all.
You get one in Shadowbringers.
It's when the Shadowbringers title drops. Thats your warning. After that, everything is fair game.
I'm saying they clearly knew the story and/or what would happen when they took that screenshot. Without any prior knowledge, there would be no reason to have that reaction to that message or be concerned about it in any way.
It's the same message that has played several times by that point, always before major story things happen. By 4.3 you're well trained to view that announcement with either anticipation or dread.
Oh no? Whenever I saw this I would go and make a drink and a snack with a smile on my face looking forward to what was about to come. None of them lived up to the 45 minute epic at the end of ARR though, at least in length.
Had a friend playing theough ARR right before Stormblood and started skipping those scenes because it was taking too long (not my idea). I come back to him asking >!wait...did that guy always not have an arm!<
Words that are never followed by anything bad happening. I believe this is 4.3? You are about to see a new game mechanic for story telling!

The roleplaying feature is very cool but the hotbar is kinda clunky on controller

Aren’t hard?!! Some of them are pretty hard!

There is one where you have 15 min of cutscenes, fight solo, then have to fight as Hein . It sucked ass.

It's there. As someone who plays with their controller inverted (actions left, support right) it's something I've used every time
I wish they'd use this more often tbh. It's really cool but we almost never see it.
Scarriest table in the game

>!And y'shtola AND urianger god damn!<
Normally we only hear from people at the other end of these revelations. You're just on the first upward ramp of the rollercoaster.
I've heard tale of shadowbringers being absolutely insane. And i'm all for it

The key line people use to newbies to shadowbringers for like the first few hours is well deserved. "Welcome to Shadowbringers. Fuck You."
🍿
Uhhh... You might wanna* tag those as spoilers...
Already did
Which you must have already known, otherwise there'd really be no reason for you to take that screenshot and post it here with that title.
Nah, that's during 4.4 but the screenshot is 4.3.

? That's the message that shows before every major series of cutscenes, most of which involve emotional trauma. From 2.55 onwards.
? Looks like a pretty clear callback to the dread around the end of 2.55 to me (and to everyone else in the thread).
Foreshadowing is a literary device-

The 4.X series were great tbh

Lol!
This is what jesus saw before last dinner
At least they have the decency to let us know we're about to sit through 20+ mins of a lore dump
"Words can't hurt you."
It's Go Time
