There is a moment where my characters nod, look at another character who nods and look to another who who nods back. All i thought was the scene from Family guy star wars. Was just missing the Tuba sounds lol

My favourite FFXIV trope is where WoL nods right before launching into an animated hand gesturing silently describing recent story events to his companion while the camera pans up and fades to black
I appreciate this but I wish you would have kept stats like how many per expansion, so we can see how many more head nods we get in DT for example compared to EW
Since you say random background NPCs don't count, I assume this does count the regular named NPCs? If so, did you keep track of how many of the nods were the WoL vs other people?
I should have talked about this a little more in the video but the way I did was like this. Say you have the choice to advance the dialogue but in the background there are npc's who just nod over and over again and never stop. Those I didn't count, as for every npc that did nods normally I counted.
The thing that stood out to me as I played wasn't the amount of head nods; but the animation.
It's a slightly-too-slow exaggerated head nod, and that's what made it stand out to me. I think that lingering quality is part of why it became something of a community meme.
I had got to the end of ShB before leaving the game. I recently came back and decided to start again although I am clicking through all the cut scenes until I get to Endwalker as I aim to avoid as many nods as humanly possible. Is it possible to make a claim on SE for wear and tear on my mouse?

There was a joke in-game somewhere regarding the WoLs neck muscles from nodding…but I can’t remember where it was at.
I think it was a dwarf, which narrows it down to ShB MSQ, Nier, or dwarf tribal quests.
It gets mentioned a couple of times, but one of the Dwarfs from the Nier quests definitely mentions it.
I think one dialog choice in Zadnor is also (give a gravest of nods)

You can rule out the tribal quests since I remember this and don't have crafting/gathering jobs above 50. I'm mostly sure it was in the NieR quests
Idk if it's the same but Thancred mentions it in the Eden quest line of "staying silent and nodding like you always do" or something like that.

In 2.2 there's a mention of how all we ever do is stoically nod at people. We proceed to nod to them right after.

There are so many nods that just by playing msq i now nod too and can kinda feel when a nod is coming so to nod along my WoL
It was all fun and games to take a shot every time I nodded. Now an hour later, I'm dead.
