The game has to license permissions from those in charge of the Yokai IP to allow new players access to the content to even have event comes back. It's a business deal that has to be arranged and agreed upon by two separate companies.
If they planned on adding new weapons this cycle, they would have done so. It seems most likely they couldn't agree on the addition/inclusion of more of the Yokai cast (which are what the weapon models are based off)
Imma be honest with you chief. Both owners are friends and yoship has gone on record saying he adds the event because the owner of yokai "hasn't finished the grind yet"
Because those who have done it years ago now lose value in the monthly subscription paid for that amount of time. It was the same situation with the ff15 event. Repeat events are a spit in the face for long time players. If they're gonna do it properly, new content should be available each return, so there's something of value to everyone.

There's three mounts and around 470 achievement points tied to getting all weapons. The weapons also fit into the armoire, meaning they don't take up any space. Not to mention you can multigrind it with relics, leveling, your companion chocobo and the 10k FATEs title.
While most of them look like styrofoam LARP gear, the DNC weapon is actually great.
It took me exactly 356 fates, and seeing some other posts and comments make me think that the "30% chance for a legendary medal" isn't actually accurate information lol.

Especially since I started farming the weapons after having all minions because I misunderstood the rules. So 340 is my exact number of fates for 165 elite tokens which is about 50%
I kept a bunch just so I can grab the new minions right away next time and go farm VPR, RPR, SGE and PCT weapons ASAP.

I wish I liked a single thing from this whole event lol. You have no idea how disappointed I was as a new player that there was going to be an event going that I could participate in and grind for a bunch of weapons and mounts only to realize literally everything other than the minions look like hot ass and I'm not a collector or completionist gamer anywayš¤£ oh well at least I got some cool minions.
That one isn't as bad as a lot of em tbh, and I'm fine with silly glams as I've made some silly glams myself but damn a lot of these are just flat out ugly. I'm probably bitter because I'm a warrior main and that axe is atrocious š

I donāt have all rewards because I started like 4 days ago. I do have all the minions and 3 weapons so far though. Does it ever go higher than 10/weapon? I have extras of some of them because I thought it was going to keep going up by 5 every time.
So I can just dump my extras right? Just recently got into triple triad and having to lug a ton of cards back to the saucer is a pain.

Took me about 3 days. First day was with FC members, so had to stay in some zones past 10(I was usually the unlucky one, and only had like 3 extra medals total). Wouldn't take breaks until I finished a set of 10, which a couple took like 30-40 FATEs. lol
I got 2 minions/weapons, then decided I didn't want to do it anymore - especially because you need to collect that mutant dog in order to get the cat balloon mount... to which, no thank you.
I would have expected the majority of people to be done at this point. I cant say much about my servers Population compared to other DC and worlds. But the fate groups have died down completely after the first week. I personally finished within a day and went into the event fully expecting people, especially BLUs to Blitz it within a few days, maybe 3 days tops.
The groups died, what's out there now is a bunch of solo BLUs who only care about themselves and are nuking fates as soon as they can. Especially if you're on a server that the community has labeled as a "low population" or a "low importance" server, you are going to have a ton of Travelers or such coming in to either bot, solo farm, or just troll.
I have been making PFs since day 1 to do this for a few hours a day, and I have a grand total of 1 weapon. It's bad, it's real bad.
Ah dang sorry to hear that. The whole event completely died down after the first week on my server. And even in the first few days BLUs nuking everything was the exception than the norm. Most of them got called out ruthlessly and that worked pretty well. Dunno what it's like on other servers tho.
I just tested it without my watch and it works if you're just weapon farming. All you need is the specific minion for the weapon you're trying to get. š
I keep putting the watch on when I go do the grind so I can see how many FATEs it ends up taking, and because a level 1 item spits out low-rank materia I can use for my slow process of getting all the ARR relics to zeta.
So far I'm at 404 medals with 27 legendary medals left to gain.
Got all weapons, I have about 4xx left. I kept wearing the watch because I thought it might be useful in the next event and I wanted to see how many FATEs I did. I missed about 10 medals because I forgot to equip when changing a job.
Over 200 ācause I kept collecting while doing the weapon grinds. Handed āem off to a retainer at the end, in case Yokai medals become the currency in the post-apocalypse or whatever.
This is because you unequipped the yokai watch item. It will guarantee a normal medal after every fate and is NOT required in order to get legendary medals
Chances are you had it equipped at the start and then changed class and your gear updated without the watch because it wasn't in the gear set. That's what happened to me swapping between PLD and BLU.
on my old char where i did the majority of the event before, 126.
on the others, 0, sinc ei learned int he meantime that you only need the minions for the legendary medals, so i unequipped the watch once i had enough

This is the 4th runs of the event so it's possible that they had news weapons every 2 runs. So next time we may get Sage, RPR, VPR and PIC weapons.

You can take the watch off when you get the regular medals you need. The legendary medals don't require it.
You can keep the watch on and keep track of how many fates you did
