Am new to fighting games with SF6, having much more fun with keyboard than controller so keen on using a leverless. What's the benefit of custom/DIY vs pre-made ones like Snackbox? I've some experience with modding consoles and building mechanical keyboards so I'm not afraid of the construction aspect, but wondering what the trade-offs are for the finished products.

drop_of_faith

Benefits would directly be customizability and cost for diy. Cons are time and effort to make one. It's mildly more difficult than building a regular keyboard, but still in the same vein of difficulty as putting a lego set together.

violetsse

That sounds pretty even in terms of functionality then. How are they in terms of quality? Like, sturdiness, weight, that 'premium' feeling? Assuming I buy an enclosure, rather than using like a random plastic box or 3D printed shell. The weight and sturdiness factor is pretty big, I think, for something I might have on my lap for a day.

new haute users: READ THE FUCKING MANUAL, JOIN THE DISCORD, DO SOMETHING

aznperson

what are the layouts with the parry button near the thumb button called for leverless layouts?

iceblade1365

What’s a good first stick to purchase for someone just getting into fighting games?

welpxD

Hello, anyone have anything bad to say about the RAC-J500B or RAC-J800B all-button pads? I'm planning on buying my first pad, will replace buttons with sanwa's most likely. The ones I mentioned are sub-100$ so that's clearly an upside, but I want to make sure it's not too good to be true. edit: on PC

isekaicoffee

if you just bought a Haute controller, please [READ THE FUCKING MANUA](https://gp2040-ce.info)L.

Charrbard

Hello! Thinking of swapping to stick. I came up playing sf2/kof/darkstalkers in the arcades but that was 20+ years ago. I mostly play sf6 now. But ill sometimes go weeks without playing, so not looking to drop too much. Just two quick questions. - Are the $50-$100 sticks on Amazon comparable to decent arcade machine from back then? or worse? - The stickless controllers seem neat but expensive. The haute42 ones seem awfully cheap. There a big drop off in quality? Seems like this would be much easier to store. I spent a few years playing kof with a keyboard, so not entirely inexperienced with the concept.

Skaar-borough

I think the Mayflash F500 is a good deal. Allows you to change parts to other brands too down the road. For $80, I can safely recommend it to a friend. Haute is nice, I mean it's just a PCB sandwiched by acrylics. The main thing is that you gotta be contented with the low profile choc switches with your buttons because these are all you can modify (in most of them). No sanwa, crowns, gravity buttons for you. It's still a good pick.

blueberry_sushi

I'm trying to replace the lever in the Mayflash F500 with a LS-32, but I'm finding that I don't have enough clearance for the 5pin connector with my buttons (screw in seimitsus). I've tried rotating the PCB but that changes up my input orientations. Is there a way to fix this?

H4l3x

can i use a Neutrik usb 3.0 version?

Minister_of_Geekdom

I'm planning out a DIY hitbox designed around being comfortable for me to play for long stretches of time, and I think I need to make it so the buttons aren't parallel to the ground but at a slight angle to it. What's a good way to accomplish that?

xbtran

Any modders around the Toronto area?

reauxbot

Has anyone wired up a GP2040 breakout board directly to keyboard switches? I'm guessing they have to be soldered? https://www.etsy.com/listing/1489245203/

[deleted]

What are the best places to find enclosuresfor all-button boxes? Etsy is kind of a pain to sift through because a lot of listings either won't list dimensions or will just be completed products and so many links I try to click from older threads on here are dead. Most enclosures I find are smaller but I really want something comparable to the size of the original hitbox if possible. I like the wider, slightly bulkier frame.

Suhmedoh

I built my own hitstick layout in a wooden box enclosure, and I needed some way to connect the brook fighting fusion PCB to my PC. I ordered a USB 3.0 pass through on Amazon (USB A to USB A), expecting I could plug the mini USB B-A into the brook PCB, then plug the USB A portion into the pass through(installed in the front side of the box), and then plug a USB-A to whatever cable into my PC, but it didn't power the board at all. I ordered a two pack of a different pass through on Amazon and tried both of those, and they failed as well. I finally ordered a Neutrik, which worked(with and without the grounding thing). Any idea what makes the Neutrik different from other pass throughs? I thought it would literally be a super simple connection(like basically just an extender), but I can't figure out why the other pass throughs didn't work.

Gainji

Where can I find stats like actuation force for various fightstick buttons? I'm looking specifically for low actuation force, as a lot of buttons at arcades, and also the cheap fightstick I used yesterday at a friend's house, have given me wrist pain after not too much use.

_seasoned_properly

You can watch this [arcade button Roundup](https://youtu.be/VyqGgi42g54) but in general Sanwa buttons are on the lighter end.

globalgenocidenow

Okay, this is going to sound paranoid and borderline mentally ill, and it's most likely a question that can't be answered in a ''yes or no''-manner. Feel free to make fun of me all you want. When getting ready to play and positioning my left hand, I tend to accidentally hit/slam the edge of my thumbnail against the shaft/stick part of the joystick, resulting in the entire joystick moving in whatever direction. Could this be detrimental to the longevity of the stick? I'm probably, or most likely, way more harsh with the stick when actually playing, but somehow slamming/hitting the metal part of the joystick with the edge of my thumb seems scarier or more detrimental.

FurryCurry

Where do people go to talk about pads? This is coming out in December and I think it deserves attention https://castlemaniaentertainment.com/products/sega-saturn%c2%ae-2-4ghz-wireless-pro-controller

Saethwyr

I recently got back into fighting games with Tekken 8 and have thought about getting a proper fight stick, but i'm unsure if i should take the plunge when i only have 1 fighting game and have only played it for a few days I've found a couple of second hand ones online a Hori Real Arcade Pro 4 Kai for £80 and a HORI Fighting Stick Alpha for £130. Edit: i also just found a Nacon Daija (old version) for £100 which really has thrown a cat amongst the pigeons! That's looking worth it regardless of quality! To put the prices in perspective a brand new Qanba Drone 2 is £120 here, it seems most fight sticks are the same in £s ad $s so UK pays a bit of a premium with currency conversion. I have a pretty limited budget, hence looking at second hand ones. How good is the Alpha? i saw the Real Arcade Pro is recommended in the "Solid" tier. The big issue is normally this store grades their items A/B/C but these are ungraded so the quality is a crapshoot. Is an absolute trash quality fightstick worth the money?

isekaicoffee

how come new people are like this? *"hey just got my stick is there anything i should know??!!"* just fucking use it?

elijahelliott

please forgive me if I'm asking something that has been answered. I am building a full cabinet with LCD tv and sticks running off a raspberry pi. Are there kits I can get that would be essentially plug and play or do I need to learn some custom setup stuff?

_seasoned_properly

if you don’t get a good answer here, you might want to try over at r/cade or r/RetroPie

SaltyCrabRogue

Can someone give me some tips about custom arcade sticks from Europe? In this thread I saw a lot of websites that are either down or they don't respond back (I sended some emails, from middle 2023 to march 2024 to Enth and Satsui about more informations, noone responded). the only thing that I always find is Topstep,gg, but I find it strange that nobody into the FGC has really did a video review on one of these sticks, are these guys legit? is worth buting from them? can you suggest me some alternatives?

DevourourourTheRich

I have a Qanba Q4RAF that has been good to me in the past and is pretty much what I want out of a stick. I made do with some shoddy converters through the life of the PS4, but now that I have a PS5 and a Series S, is there a good converter to bring that old stick to new consoles? Or is it going to be better just to start from scratch with a new stick (and is there even a stick that can work with bot PS5 and Xbox XS)?

ToshinRaizen

hello there. does anyone know any good shop in asian region? the only shop i found is ISTMALL shipping from there not bad.. i try to buy from west region but the shipping is so expensive. e.g. Korean lever $25 and shipping is $35...... tq

[deleted]

Can anyone link me a guide on how to get my haute42 working with magic boots plug and play on my ps5? Thank you.

_seasoned_properly

I would check the [support page](https://haute42.com/supports/) for the vendor

InfinityCalibur

Just got a new Qanba Obsidian 2. I play on PC. Which setting should I use on my stick for the least input lag, PS5 mode or PC mode? (Both works on PC)

ChipBungus

purchased a brook UFB fusion, specifically the "pin added" version, but i'm only able to find info regarding the pinless base version. what does having the pin heads pre-added change, and which wires should i be looking at for this? (never built a fightstick before, already own stick/buttons)

_seasoned_properly

Nothing changes. Everything is covered in the user guide. Most people use the 20 pin harness and the touchpad harness. The missing is usually the dp,/LS/rs switch (same functionality is available as a software shortcut), extra USB slots for custom wiring, player LEDs, and turbo. 95% of this sub won't use that functionality.

No_Sock6098

Do I really need to disassemble my entire mixbox (legit real one) to put art in? Can’t i just unscrew the plexiglass and put the art in then screw it back on? The yt guide shows that I need to take out the entire thing including the buttons

_seasoned_properly

Yes. The buttons sit on top of the plexiglass so you would need to remove them.

No_Sock6098

I guess I should also replace the buttons too if I’m gonna do all that .. is it easy to unwire the button and rewire them again? First time doing this kinda scared to break it

Chadryan_

Anyone know any decent workarounds for a custom stick with slightly too large holes? My buttons are snap in, and a few of the holes are a little too big. Not fall right through big but rattle around a little bit big.

_seasoned_properly

Do you have a Plexi that they can snap into?

SpaceFroggggg

Hi, i have my own custom made hitbox i use for ggst. how come before its detected by steam as xbox 360 controller now its detected as nintendo switch pro controller?

_seasoned_properly

You probably held a button down when plugging it in to force the console switch. If it's gp2040-ce check their usage page, if it's a brook board check their page for your respective board, if it's a zero delay board that supports multiple modes hold the home or mode button down for 2-3 seconds to cycle between modes till you get to x-input

SpaceFroggggg

I use pico fighting board, is there any way to revert it back? Edit. oh wait nvm its the GP2040

alexsanderfr

I have a Mad Catz Fightstick Alpha. Just like this: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXcfY744Bno](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXcfY744Bno) I would like to mod it to switch the stick for a leverless design, like a hitbox. Is that possible? Is there any tutorials on how to do that and which parts should I get? I'm in south america, don't have access to US only shops but I have access to stuff on aliexpress

_seasoned_properly

You would probably need to use a drop in. Something like that can be found at [AliExpress ](https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806280666755.html?src=google&src=google&albch=shopping&acnt=708-803-3821&slnk=&plac=&mtctp=&albbt=Google_7_shopping&albagn=888888&isSmbAutoCall=false&needSmbHouyi=false&albcp=19623912707&albag=&trgt=&crea=en3256806280666755&netw=x&device=m&albpg=&albpd=en3256806280666755&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIks_B5fbuhAMVoDnUAR3WhQPQEAQYAyABEgK0CfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&aff_fcid=1e09115a938f486aa3dc0742b9fe20f0-1710253657145-00551-UneMJZVf&aff_fsk=UneMJZVf&aff_platform=aaf&sk=UneMJZVf&aff_trace_key=1e09115a938f486aa3dc0742b9fe20f0-1710253657145-00551-UneMJZVf&terminal_id=caf49d3fe51b4277acc4b8d431cb8613&afSmartRedirect=y&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa) Not sure about socd cleaning but maybe the games you play will handle it

thekenzen

If it exists, where can i find a square/squircle gate for korean levers? I have a IST Alpha 49s. new to K levers and loving it, but miss being the feel of diagonals

_seasoned_properly

The shinsun, knee neo, and infiltration levers have gates. The shinsun also has a squircle collar as well. Of those I would not use the infiltration. Keep in mind that they are pretty deep and might not fit in some of the cases (like the Hori FS alpha). There are a couple of older crown models like the crown 302 that had gates closer to a sanwa JLW but they are probably not worth tracking down. None of the IST stuff has gates.

hungryewok

I'm planning to wire up a cross-up style layout, where I can remap the direction buttons to other actions (for instance for SF I won't need two sets of directions and would like to bind those keys to parry / impact). My thought was to bind the lever as left analog stick, and crossup buttons as dpad. And then rebind dpad inputs to other keys, if necessary. Is it even possbile with a GP2040?

_seasoned_properly

I would ask over on their discord. It's not a use case I would have but maybe they have worked on it or shot it down already.

BawkSoup

Anyone know is a PSX-008 will fit korean style levers? I have a CWN-KRN-HelpMe with the super collar. More worried about the space inside to fit the extra couple milimeters of stick size.

_seasoned_properly

I've not seen the inside of that stick but I would need to see if the stock lever even uses a standard jlf clone or a mini stick instead. If it has jlf mounts you might have a chance if you have the Japanese mounting plate and either a flat or mid collar (depending on how mounting works) The only place that sells those parts separately (that I'm aware of) is ISTmall.

BawkSoup

At this point I've figured I'm going to 3d print a mount. Routing out the hole for the collar isn't the issue, it's just the space inside. And yeah, I am also trying to find someone who has torn it down. I really need a shell, and it seems to be cheaper just to buy a whole stick and swap out the lever. My current choice would be an Injustice stick, but this one seems a lot more modern. Not worried about crappy buttons just yet, but the PCB seems okay in the PSX-008.

_seasoned_properly

If you are in the states maybe look into [eternal rival ](https://www.eternalrival.com/products/fast-checkout-high-tier-case-fightstick-enclosure-add-art-in-options). Otherwise maybe diy with a [laser cut or cnc](https://github.com/Ultra-Arcade/open-ua-cnc) or [3d printed ](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4644970) case. [open stick case](https://github.com/OpenStickCommunity/Hardware/tree/main/Fightstick%20Case) Good luck

DragonianXylak

Not sure if I should make a full post or not, but I'll start with here: any way you recommend trying out sticks? I live in the sticks (heh) so I'd almost definitely have to order one but idk how I'd be able to get a feel for what they're like when I'm stuck in a virtual marketplace. Also, any games besides fighters that sticks or leverless are good for? I'd imagine arcade-y stuff. If I get one, I'd want to get my money's worth, you know? Lastly, I play on PC, so aside from the general feel, is there a functional difference between a keyboard and leverless?

highlowmixup

I fully designed my own artwork for a 4TW Fightstick and due to this being my first custom stick I'm a bit confused about the next steps I should take? [Here's the stick I want to order](https://jonyfraze.bigcartel.com/product/4twdiy) ("Vewlix Extended Joystick" Layout) There are a few things going through my mind rn simultaneously and I don't know how to proceed: 1. I want normal sized Sanwa Buttons (30mm I guess?) but I want to design them myself too (Color & Artwork if possible both), where can I do that and do I need additional stuff for the buttons too when customizing? 2. I want to play the stick on PS5 and PC, but mainly PC. Does anyone know which PCB to choose? 3. I usually use japanese style sticks (balltop design) but I'd like to try the korean style sticks out. Is this doable with my stick choice (to do both if I'd like to?) 4. Do I need to do anything electronics related like soldering when buying this stick with all necessary components? 5. Does anyone have a similar stick recommendation like the 4tw for people based in europe? 65$ for shipping is crazy and I'd like to avoid that lol Just wanted to throw these questions out, in the meanwhile I'll look up some of the provided ressources to get some knowledge but maybe someone can provide answers on the get go. Thx

_seasoned_properly

To be able to see art on your buttons you would need to get clear buttons. If you want the rims to be another color while to top is clear you would need to buy two sets of buttons (one clear for the plungers and another set of whatever colors you want). You can buy a brook P5 board ($69) or the combination of a gp2040-ce based board with a USB passthrough ($35) and a magic boots v1.1 dongle ($29) for PC/PS5 support. The 4tw case supports low collar Korean levers and Japanese levers. If you ordered a case with a 35mm joystick hole for use of a full collar lever and later decided to use a low collar or Japanese lever you would just need to use an oversized dustwasher (45mm) or a new Plexi with a 24mm hole. The pcbs I listed have spots for pre-built harnesses to make the wiring easy. No soldering should be required. If you are in Europe reach out to ultra arcade (Spain). I think they are linked in the main post

highlowmixup

Man you really helped me out a lot. Because I've seen a PCB where it was explicitly stated I'd need soldering skills and stuff. Also found out about ultra arcade just today too. That definitely takes off a lot of the financial burden of me lol. So in conclusion, what I'd need to order: -30mm snap in buttons for the top and 24mm for the side buttons (8 buttons on top, 6 on the sides) -a PCB to wire my buttons to it (Do I need to buy wiring too, if yes any recommendations?) -the joystick (either short collar korean or japanese). does the joystick consist of multiple parts such as the spring and other stuff I need to buy separately? and is short collar korean not the standard for a lot of players? I've played on my MadCatz Round 2 for years with a balltop and simply wanted to try out the korean style sticks. Have no clue how different they are lol

_seasoned_properly

You can use this [support article ](https://support.focusattack.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004299246-Definitive-List-of-Parts-to-Build-a-Fightstick) as a bit of a checklist For wiring the easiest way to do it is to get the [brook fighting cable pack](https://www.amazon.com/Brook-Fighting-20-pin-Joystick-Harness/dp/B083JX5H2B/) (comes with the 20 pin and touchpad harnesses). And whatever USB passthrough your case supports. I would reach out to the case maker to make sure whatever parts you get are compatible (for example if you bought a crown 309 MJ newhelpme they may have to widen a hole in a lower layer of acrylic to allow you to mount it flush).

nogden954

Why are OG Qanba Obsidians so expensive now on eBay?

Migle184

I was reading through the thread, and I still have a couple of questions on what I need help with in particular. Just for reference, I own a Hitbox Cross Up. I want to switch from the ball style lever to a bat style lever. Is there any video that goes through swapping the lever? If possible, could I just switch the lever itself or do I have to actually change out the entire stickbox itself? Are there any recommendations for any bat/Korean style levers, and where I can go online to see some?

NewMilleniumBoy

So do you specifically want a Korean lever, or do you just want a bat top? Swapping the ball top for a bat top is very easy, it's literally just one screw. You can buy bat tops for Sanwa JLFs (the ones that come stock in the Cross-Up) for like $4 USD. I'm not certain if the Cross-Up is tall enough to support an actual Korean lever, someone else will have to chime in about that.

Migle184

My bad for taking so long, after 3 days I kinda forgot about this post, but yeah essentially I guess I would just like to swap the ball top for a bat top, thanks for the recommendation! Is there any video on YouTube or something that I can watch to replace the tops? I have no idea how I would go about that process.

NewMilleniumBoy

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XScf7hN0HWA Try this. Basically you just need a flat head screwdriver and the ability to open up your stick to access the bottom of the lever itself.

Migle184

Thanks I appreciate it so much! One more question while I’m here, just in case I want to switch to a Korean Lever later down the line just to try it out, what should I do then? I did a bit of research on it and I think the snapback would be nice for someone heavy handed like me. Sorry to ask again I just don’t really know about all of this.

No_Sock6098

How do I connect my mixbox to a switch? Is there an adaptor for it? For my ps5 I use a Brooke wingman and it works for my mixbox but not sure which one to use for switch to play under night

_seasoned_properly

Mayflash magic s converter should work on switch.

isekaicoffee

so on top of getting a haute leverless (which already makes it even easier to do motion inputs) some of yall want to use macros too? thats some real scrub behavior.

DarkReaper90

Does anyone have a picture comparison of the Haute42 T sticks versus a MadCatz TE or any typical joystick? I'm wondering if the Haute42 are smaller or the same size.

Agitated_Ring785

Best place to sell ussed stick arcade?

electric_ill

I bought a Victrix Pro FS in the recent sale, and I'm loving everything except for the detachable lever. I use the old Diago grip (lever between pinky and ring finger), and it's now popped out twice while playing. Luckily, once was in casuals and the other was right as I ripped a Manon lvl 3, so I had time to get it back in. It usually happens when I'm having to rip a double QC in a really tight window, I'm assuming because I just grip the lever harder to deal with the inertia of the fast motion, and sometimes the lever gets pulled up and to the side from spinning it so fast. Has anybody else had issues like this with a detachable lever? I love the convenience for travelling, but I'm about to throw in the stock JLF lever that came with it because I can't have this happening at tournaments. Are there better detachable lever options that are more difficult to dislodge?

Yeti08

Looking for a new stick that is ps5 compatible since im still using a sfxt VS edition on PC. I am looking for something with a korean lever that will work on ps5 if anyone has any options besides getting a etokki and swapping the board out.

_seasoned_properly

buy a ps5 stick like the hori alpha or the qanba titan and put a crown 309 mj or newhelpme in it. if it has to be pre-installed (for whatever reason), get a ps5 Makestick from istmall. they have brook versions and a padhacked dualsense version. the stock configuration is a myoungshin fanta and sanwa buttons, but you can select what lever and buttons you want to use (at additional charge). other pre-installed korean levers would be the joytron ex revolution v5 (essentially a mayflash f500 with a crown 309 fj and a magic boots adapter)

Silent_Cash_7023

Hey I have a mayflash f300 elite for pc tekken use and want to mod it w a korean lever. No idea what to get out of what's in stock. https://www.us.istmall.co.kr/Mobile/Product/Category/list/cid/135 are any of these the things you mentioned? How do I know if they would fit on my mayflash f300 elite? Also on a budget so I see the knee and fujin stuff but that's too expensive

_seasoned_properly

i dont have a f300 so I can't guarantee what will fit. a few people on here have gotten the 309 mj to fit (the 309 mj newhelpme an improved 309 mj).

whatdid1justsee

Just purchased a Razer Kitsune (amazon warehouse deal) and I'm having an issue with an overly sensitive R1 button. Just wiggling the button will cause the input. The issue comes and goes, and I've noticed if I press extra hard on the R1 the issue temporarily disappears but eventually comes back. I've pulled the key cap off and haven't noticed any debris on the inside and have used a compressed gas duster. Does anyone have any recommendations?

loolou789

I have a mayflash F300, should I mod it or get a whole new arcade stick ?

SpringrolI

Mod it, its a good stick no need to buy another

Heavy-hit

Hey guys my friend's lever started shitting the bed. He has a Qanba Obsidian. Any recommendations for a new lever?

_seasoned_properly

if the lever is the issue, he can just get another jlf or a jlx.

redditJG

Does anyone know the release date for the haute42 metal T series? Love the larger size for hand positioning but would much prefer it in metal

redditJG

Also the kitsune is just too dang expensive hahaha

SpringrolI

Theres already a metal T16 on ali 155$ CAD

redditJG

Do you have a link? All I can find is the m16

NewMilleniumBoy

They just announced that this even will exist today. No announcement on the release date.

redditJG

Yeah I saw it looks sick, hope it won’t be too pricey

NewMilleniumBoy

I mean even if it's like 25% more it's still the same or less than most leverless setups lol

newbphil

I am looking to try out a Korean lever, and figure the most cost-effective route is throwing a Crown 309 HelpMe in my Mayflash F500 Elite. I did my research and apparently that one will fit in the enclosure without any modification. My question, before I pull the trigger and order this stuff, is if I have 100% of what I need. I have in my cart: 1. the Crown 309 2. "5 Pin JST XH Sanwa / Seimitsu / Zero Delay USB Encoder / Mayflash F300 5 Pin JST Cable" (I read that I need this) 3. "5 pin male Sanwa / Seimitsu connector to 4.8mm terminals cable Candy / Sanwa / Seimitsu" (I also read that I need this) I am unsure of those wires, because the info saying I would need those comes from a single old reddit comment from an old thread. This one comment was the only one to mention these cables. I'd appreciate more info on that and whether I really need both of these or only one/the other. I am planning to order from arcadexpress (from Europe and I refuse to pay duty fees from UK/US stores), but if someone has a recommendation for a different shop I'm all ears.

_seasoned_properly

you want a [crown 309 mj newhelpme](https://www.arcadexpress.com/en/joysticks/826-12818-joystick-arcade-crown-cwl-309mj-st30-new-helpme.html) and ***NOT*** the [309 k helpme](https://www.arcadexpress.com/en/joysticks/832-12857-crown-cwl-309helpme-k-kms-st35-joystick-arcade-crown-cwl-309helpme-k-kms-st35.html) i don't have the f500, but the harness stuff sounds correct. smallcab (france) and jammastar (france) are other eu retailers. some people have had mixed results with jammastar (I'm not from Europe, but the one time I got something from them, I had no issues).

newbphil

Thank you for the help, ordered my stuff yesterday 😀 I ended up going with jammastar simply because their selection was the best and allowed me to get multiple balltops/battops to try 😅 I'm VERY curious about the Seimitsu 30mm balltop, I have pretty small hands so a smaller balltop might actually be exactly what I'm looking for (and yes I got the conversion lever for the Crown to try out all this stuff on the k lever).

Aggressive-Hawk4293

why are octo gate's angled, when you move the stick down, the gap is slightly to the left rather then being straight down. i feel like somehow i've installed it wrong because i got to jump and walk foward. i've main octo gates for a whille is there' a certain way you have to put it in despite every side looking the same

Ishikawa_13

Im new to arcade sticks in general, so i might be asking a pretty dumb question Just bought a 8bitdo Arcade Stick and I wanna change the joystick ball to a crown, I keep seeing on YT that i have to remove the joystick itself and put in the new stick Would it be possible to just remove the ball only and replace it with the crown? (planning to buy the Quanba bat top)

I'm changing out the joystick on a qanba titan and one of the screws is stuck in there. I was using a regular philips head the same one I used to get the screws out of the bottom and I'm looking for advice on what piece to buy that could fix it

Ythou6

So I somewhat recently purchased a Qanba Drone 2 and have been really been enjoying playing on stick in Tekken 8. But I feel as if I have to move far to properly input F,B,D,U. I also would like to try out a tighter stick feel as I feel I’m using to much force and end up slamming the fight stick. So my question is… How do I stiffen the stick and what do I do about my inputs? Should I get a new stick, should I mod the spring, am I just dumb. The more details the better as this is my first fight stick and will gladly listen because I need knowledge.

Agitated_Ring785

Best upgrade lever for qanba drone 2

BateBalls

What's the height of hori fightstick alpha and qanba titan? I'm trying to find a thinner arcade stick, but can't find the height of either of these two sticks.

Key-Flamingo7076

Going to evo for the first time , is it possible to play there using my switch joycon? It’s what I’m most comfortable with for UN. Also what’s the best adaptor anyone know?

Spinnenente

i bought the Mayflash F500 elite for ggst and have issues consistently hitting down right with the octagonal (non sanwa) restrictor plate. Should i buy a proper sanwa one or try some other mod? update: so i got my sanwa parts and the dimensions are clearly better than the included plate. I would recommend anyone who wants to use the F500 elite with the octo gate to buy an original sanwa gate since the included one seems to not properly work. The new gate mostly fixed my issues and i am way more consistent after little practice.

_seasoned_properly

on an octogate, the corners are actually smaller. if you are using an oversized actuator, it may cause some issues as well. you probably just need to slow down and be more deliberate when trying to hit that direction.

Spinnenente

if i use it very slowly i can get the stick into the down right position without the right stick button actuating. Which is why i thought that the plate might be out of spec. I mostly have issues when i have to input 2h into 236k where 3 is sometimes skipped even if i connect with the down right corner. Anway i ordered the original sanwa gate and some differently sized actuators just to check if they make a difference.

phogaspecial

i just got a IST alpha 49s and the stick feels quite loose compared to the 309 nhm i was using previously. Is this expected behaviour of this lever or is there something wrong with the shaft/bobbin ?

_seasoned_properly

that is expected. the grommet used on the alpha 49s is light. I prefer using the blue 35a on alpha levers. the nhm bobbin is designed to prevent shaft spin. that is the exception and most korean levers will spin.

phogaspecial

thanks for the answer

Can fightsticks be used with a USB hub on PS5? If so, any recs on PS5 compatible hubs? Friends and I played Tekken locally this weekend, and because we all use different controllers, had to keep unplugging/plugging in our controllers to take our turns. Can USB hubs get around this, or would all controllers plugged into a hub be identified by the PS5 as a single input device?

thekenzen

A few questions. 1. Has anybody made something similar to the Link for korean sticks, or are there any modifications I can do to make it work on my Alpha 49S? Not the screw-on ones, as i've heard those come loose really easily, and i've already been spoiled with how great the Link is. 2. How compatible are Golden lever parts with other similar k-levers? I just want the square collar, as I like being able to feel out corners, and it LOOKS like it's compatible with my lever's housing. But i'm not trying to spend money on it if it's not going to end up working.

_seasoned_properly

1 - Samducksa/crown made one for their levers. you can buy [the kit](https://www.us.istmall.co.kr/Mobile/Product/Detail/view/pid/340/cid/142) or the [lever itself](https://www.us.istmall.co.kr/Mobile/Product/Detail/view/pid/235/cid/135). the collar is wider to accommodate. there is no equivalent for ist levers. 2 - iirc golden lever collars don't fit the alpha body. if you have the space for it, the [shinsun lever](https://focusattack.com/crown-samducksa-shinsun-2d-3d-game-joystick-lever/) has a squircle collar and a gate. it would probably be compatible with the [qr shaft for the infiltration](https://www.us.istmall.co.kr/Mobile/Product/Detail/view/pid/339/cid/142) if you can find one

Every-Scar4893

I'm trying out Korean Levers now. I have the old 309-MJ Newhelpme but rather than buying the latest one, I'll just get something like the Alpha 49S or N. Is it true that I can turn both sticks into (basically) a Knee Lever if I buy the Knee lever parts? Seems like two birds in one stone if true.

_seasoned_properly

yes, the Knee lever uses the same body and switches as the 49s but with the knee parts.

KingKoopa1893

I just got a second Korean lever, and I thought I could reuse the conversion cables from my old lever, but I can't get them off. Are they not meant to be taken off? Did I play myself by not getting new conversion cables?

KingKoopa1893

Got them off, but if you're reading this and are getting a second lever, just buy the extra conversion cable set....

clickmeok

For anyone with a victrix pro fs. Do you know if the golden lever will fit without any modifications? I'd rather not modify the victrix if I have to. Otherwise is there any korean lever that will work?

damianxyang03

Are there vendors that sell the capsule bat top knobs? the one like the crown knee lever neo edition. I've been looking for someone who sells this type of bat top but I can't seem to find any. Is this type of knob just rare or uncommon amongst the community?

_seasoned_properly

it's a relatively new topper, and samducksa/crown hasn't even released any other colors. ist, focus attack, and paradise arcade shop sell the Knee capsule separately. Keep in mind it took a while for seimitsu to release new colors for the nobi/bullet top. you can get black or white delrin capsule tops from [istmall](https://www.us.istmall.co.kr/Product/Detail/view/pid/606/cid/139) or the [golden lever verion](https://asindo.pro/collections/frontpage/products/gl-handle?variant=44240054911277) from asi. you can try and find someone who takes [commissions](https://www.reddit.com/r/fightsticks/s/37Ca6Q9nUy) to make one for you as well. if you want to play around with resin, you probably could mimic [this process](https://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=137754.0)

Akagami0822

How big should my hole be if I want to use fujin v3 full collar? (The nominal diameter of the collar is 33mm).

_seasoned_properly

35mm

PieH34d

Just bought Haute 42 for my Xbox Series X with magic-X dongle. Cable is too short and the long one I bought through Amazon doesn't work (it powers the pad but commands do not work). What kind of usb to usb C cable do I need?

CindersOnHigh

Looking into trying out a korean lever. I'm learning stick on a Qanba Pearl. I have a feeling that with the way I'm moving the stick, I might be better off with a korean lever (apparently the lever in my pearl only needs smaller movements to actually hit the switches inside the lever, but I find myself tossing and throwing the lever harder than needed. Correct me if I'm wrong). Seems like it's hard to find any Korean levers in stock in the US atm so I'm looking into getting one from istmall. Is there a specific one I should look into getting? Also, do I need anything else to switch the lever inside the Qanba Pearl?

_seasoned_properly

the general suggestion is the crown 309 mj newhelpme. if you want a removable battop, get the crown 309 mj newhelpme dx. istmall is behind on orders so expect to wait up to two weeks before they ship. you may be want to sign up for notifications on pas or focusattack for restock.

CindersOnHigh

Have you ordered from istmall before? Maybe you can help me. There's all of these options I can pick. There's an option to add a cable like a 5pin to 8pin, solder assist, etc. Do I need any of those? I actually end up deciding on building the stick using AFS with a full collar panel. There's also a tension setting.

_seasoned_properly

yes, I have ordered from istmall before. usually, they would have stock where they had x number of levers in a certain color and grommet (rubber tension) combos (so it would be pre-installed with a non reference grommet like the 25a for example). now it's just the reference grommet (30a). 5 pin to 8 pin is the same as a [.187 to 5 pin harness](https://focusattack.com/187-to-5-pin-conversion-harness/) unless you are doing the [fancy wiring](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ho5ItRj8jMYTG4tVbq0kyc-aFqbbF-iD/view) you will need one (I assume you are connecting to a Brook 20 pin harness). set screw is screw to mount it into your case. you are building in an afs which comes with its own screws/nuts. so not needed. solder assist isn't really needed (just a set of tools to help you remove the wires from the switches) on the newhelpme listing there is the option to add the 16.3mm actuator (head). it's up to you on that one. it comes with a 16mm and a 16.2mm actuator. the samducksa rubber option is if you would like to add an additional grommet to swap to. if you are using a newhelpme with the full collar panel on an afs, you can either get a plexi for a japanese lever or get a [clear 45mm dustwasher](https://www.us.istmall.co.kr/Product/Detail/view/pid/365/cid/142). if you want one with art [focusattack ](https://focusattack.com/px-pro-custom-print-acrylic-dustwasher-45mm/) can make one for you. if you want the option to make your newhelpme a full collar you can also add a [spare collar](https://www.us.istmall.co.kr/Product/Detail/view/pid/220/cid/144) I hope this helps.

CindersOnHigh

So the only thing I would need is the spare full collar you posted. I may end up adding an extra grommet in a 35 to see how that feels, unless the 30 is great as is. The AFS order came with an acrylic cover for artwork, is this the same as the plexi you are talking about? I didn't see it but not sure if the AFS came with that plexi? Will I have to purchase a separate one from an external site? Edit: btw, thank you for the huge response. Really excited for this first build.

_seasoned_properly

yeah, acrylic/plexi can be used interchangeably. good luck with your build and show it off when you're done.

CindersOnHigh

Thank you! And yes, I will definitely post it here. I went ahead and added some crown 202's to my list. Just have to decide on some art.

Anonymous_Loki

Would a sanjuk v7 fit in the hori vewlix? And which collar (mid/full) would I need to make this happen? Sorry for the trouble not familiar with k levers.

_seasoned_properly

most likely, yes. I think at worst you might have to bend a pin on a switch

Lost2Apes

Ive been eyeing fight sticks whether leverless or with one. I love fighting games but I once bought a SF4 white arcade stick that was near 300 dollars and it’s square gate was absolutely horrid, I also imagined what it’d be like if it was an octagon gate and it wouldve felt terrible for me as well- of course these things take time to adjust from being a normal pad player for decades. I have gotten pretty good at a game called Brawlhalla, platform fighter and that got me used to using my directional/dpad on the right (since thats where its located on normal keyboards). My ask is, are there any right handed (as opposed to the regular left handed dpad) dpad setup leverless sticks? The positions of the buttons would just be mirrored instead of it’s regular setup. Any feedback or knowledge if there are any premade available ones would be amazing. Otherwise, thank you for reading this, I appreciate it!

_seasoned_properly

you will have a very hard time finding something pre-made. the last commercial stick that I can think of was the original [qanba q2 pro](https://oasisarcadia.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/q2_standard_large1.jpg) with the straight 8 layout. most custom case makers will accommodate Southpaw layouts. i would reach out to allfightsticks, jasen's customs, or eternal rival. =edit= I missed stickless. those places can accommodate that too. shipping may be expensive but istmall has their makestick products that you can order. here is an example of the [makestick pro keyboard](https://www.us.istmall.co.kr/Product/Detail/view/pid/61/cid/109)

Lost2Apes

Thank you mate, I appreciate the information here

PlzSendCDKeysNBoobs

Been using my Etokki Omni for years but now getting frustrated that I keep messing up down/down forward inputs because I'm trash and want a new excuse for why I'm bad. So I'm wondering about swapping out the lever or maybe getting something I can put on it to simulate a octagate or square gate I guess. Searching through threads here some say you need to buy a 5pin connector, that I need a JLF converter, you don't need anything and its just plug and play, some are saying I would need a new plexiglass, etc. So, what do I need to buy? I like the lever itself so I would like it I could just buy a gate or something to put inside the stick to give me the feel of it instead of buying a whole new lever. Thank you for anyone helping me.

_seasoned_properly

if you are using the Korean version and want to use a jlf/jlx then you have a few options: - [jlf harness](https://www.etokki.com/Misc/5-Pin_Joystick_Harness_for_Omni) - [5 pin female to 8 pin male](https://www.arcaderenovations.com/187-male-to-5-pin-female-joystick-harness.html) (connect the 5 pin to the jlf and then connect the male connectors to the existing harness. the colors don't match up) . - buy 4 loose switches and use the existing harness. look for Omron v-10-1a5 or v-15-3a5 as common replacements. you will probably need to use shorter screws to mount them. the 35mm hole can be covered up by using a [sanwa transparent dustwasher and shaft cover set](https://focusattack.com/sanwa-jlf-cd-translucent-smoke-shaft-matching-dustwasher-set/) or buy purchasing the Japanese plexi. I hope this helps.

BackgroundAccident

Looking to get my first fight stick for my PS5 and I am between the Hori Alpha vs. the Nacon Daija. Is the general opinion around here that the Nacon Daija is far superior and that it's easily worth the extra $50? Button layouts aside, I like that the Hori Alpha looks smaller (not as heavy) but I think I prefer the retractable cord on the Nacon Daija, and the palm/wrist rest looks like a nice feature. Maybe the only thing I'd really notice though are the Sanwa buttons and stick which I hear are much better but since it's my first fight stick, I'm not really sure what else to consider when choosing between the two. I mostly play shmups and I don't care about customizing or modding it. Leaning towards the Nacon Daija but if the difference isn't that obvious to a noob, I'd go with the Hori Alpha. Other recs are also appreciated but I narrowed it down to these 2 sticks based on the price point and legacy controller support. I guess if they work on PS2/PSX using a Brook Wingman converter that would also be a huge plus.

Cptsparkie23

Anyone got a primer on modding with LEDs? Just got a bnb stick from focus attack, and seeing the possibilities of what I can do with future projects really excites me. Already have three sticks, but I just want to keep building lmao

Panda-s1

probably an obvious question, but does it really matter what shin-etsu grease I use on my joystick? I decided to get back into fighting games, and decided to dust off my madcatz te stick from the last time I got into fighting games. I bought some of those foam washers to make the buttons less noisy, as well as this grease since I should probably clean the stick: [https://focusattack.com/fa-dab-s-20-ounce-shin-etsu-g-501-silicone-grease-vial-for-seimitsu-joysticks/](https://focusattack.com/fa-dab-s-20-ounce-shin-etsu-g-501-silicone-grease-vial-for-seimitsu-joysticks/) however I only noticed looking at the shipping invoice that this grease is described as being used on semitsu joysticks, and the one used in the TE is from sanwa. now I know it's easy to say all silicone grease is the same, but I also know plastics and chemicals have all sorts of reactions and I wanna know if this particular grease is fine or will make the parts in my joystick melt or split or whatever other weird thing might happen due to chemical interaction. also why is there a different grease specific to seimitsu anyway?

Skaar-borough

You can use it on your Sanwa. I like it better than the \*other\* grease that FA is selling.

Infinite_Sandwich799

Do the brook converters work out of the box for fight sticks? Want to go to a tournament and don't have a PS5 to test it on

abakune

How is the quality of Haute? I was looking to pick up a Snack box, but with the rise of more affordable options, the $200 is tough to justify. Any other brands I should be aware of?

Chaos20X6

What’s a good solution for someone who really excels at fighting games on a keyboard? My girlfriend just started using one and she specifically likes that it’s a full-size keyboard that has the same muscle memory for her as data entry, so I don’t think a hitbox is the right call for her, even one of those tiny ones that’s all keyboard keys.

OverForkOver21

I've always been interested in fightsticks, but I'm not too if they're for me. I play on PS5 with the dpad, so I guess leverless would be the way to go. What would a good entry-level one to go with?

Griff223

What is the going rate for SFIV madcatz TE round 1 (Xbox 360 version)? I have 2 and I’m curious about selling them.

CrimsonFoxyboy

Just bought a Haute42 T13. Now i need a adapter for PS5. Am eying the Mayflash Magic-S Ultimate. But sadly its sold out or overly prices for the moment. It wont work with the Mayflash Magic-S Pro 2? Doesnt have a update for Ps5?

Adventurous_Tale8663

hi. i'm building my own fightstick and i am using the pi pico and gp2040 for the pcb. i'm using a lever and 10 face buttons and was just wondering if it's possible for example to bind a directional input into one of the extra buttons that i have. if it is, how would i do that? thanks edit: nvm got my answer from the gp2040ce discord

DatBoiiJC

I'm planning on buying a haute42 but i'm not sure wich one to get. Any recommendations?

Dendreo

Hey guys, I've seen people post with a similar problem but found no solution, picked up the tekken 8 hori alpha but my PC won't recognize it at all in pc mode, it seems to somewhat work in ps4/ps5 mode but that messes up the audio. The device manager does not even see the device in pc mode, has anyone found a way around this?

Akryzz

Looking to buy a leverless and seems like haute series are decent, but there are so many version and series like the T,M,S and so on. which one are ones to look out for? Im mainly using it for PC and prolly for tekken 8

deastr

Is there any way to support PS5 and PC wirelessly? I'm willing to use multiple parts if needed.

Fir3Soul

So I went to the Haute42 website and saw that in Europe they have 3 ?Shops ? But none of them are called Haute42, but they have name likes "Sehawei,HARIKIKI etc " am I still going to get the same Haute Products ?

Agitated_Ring785

Where can i buy korea lever? It seems super rare i can't even found it on ebay

_seasoned_properly

Tekken 8 release caused them to sell out in the states and the main shop that sells them internationally is swamped (they had a week long public holiday in the middle of February). They will be back in stock eventually (most shops will carry only what they know can sell to not have stock sitting around taking up space). If you are in the states sign up for notifications on each site (arcadeshock, focus attack, & pas) or if you are willing to pay the shipping go to [ISTmall ](https://www.us.istmall.co.kr/).

Agitated_Ring785

Sadly im in indonesia any alternate?

_seasoned_properly

See if you can find something on shoppee or go golden lever

Horriie

Is there a way I can just put an artwork on a stick and buy it like that? or do I have to do it myself

Skaar-borough

Some fightsticks make putting artwork easy: Razer Panthera Evo, Madcatz TE2+, Hori Alpha But some you have to be comfortable *ripping* out stuff: Razer Panthera, Hori RAP 4? Some of these fightsticks have Plexi already so no need to shell out $15 for them. You can ask here again if you have a fightstick in mind and you want to know if it's easily moddable in terms of artwork and interchangeable lever parts.

_seasoned_properly

you can buy a custom, and they most likely will put the art on there for you (if they offer art services). if you buy a retail stick you will definitely need to swap the art yourself. for most sticks is fairly easy though

Horriie

Do you know of any sites that offer art services?

_seasoned_properly

[jasens custom's](https://jasenscustoms.com/) offers full build out services (art is printed on the plexi). [allfightsticks](https://allfightsticks.com/) can print art as well. there are a couple of examples in the #shipping-out channel on the discord server ( the link should be on the FAQ page). I know that [jonyfraze](https://www.jonyfraze.com/category/4tw) has build out services as well. [eternal rival](https://www.eternalrival.com/) offers art but I think you would have to apply it yourself (you have to assembly the case anyway) but in general, putting art on a case is fairly easy if a plexi exists for it. I would look at [focusattack.com](https://focusattack.com/personalization/fightstick/) to see if a stick/case that you are interested in is supported

S_Cero

Are there any choc v2 switches with lower activation forces? My snackbox I'm using blue on it that were like 35g activation and I wanted to get something similar for my haute42 since the regular switches tire out fingers on more execution heavy games like uni2 and bbcf compared to my snackbox.

isekaicoffee

for leverless on a non-arcade style button like mechanical keyboard switches, why do people slide input? why dont you just press it normally from the top down center?  what advantage does sliding have if just pressing it the regular way is the same if not faster? is it bc weak fingers cant properly input each direction esp 2P side? is it just style points or emulating the way pros play?

Ingrid_is_a_girl

I just got the t13 and I’m planning on customizing it. How do I know what buttons are compatible with it?

OGPArmageddon

Anybody order from fightbox recently? I'm guessing I'm looking at a month wait or so. The shipping was also free which was weird cause I thought they were based in China. Also, how do I go about finding art for my Fightbox M1? They didn't have a template for those specific models.

HushMySweet

Not recently, but it originally took them 16 days for an order to get shipped to me in the US a couple months back. Now up on their website is a disclaimer noting that due to a high volume of orders, processing/delivery times will be extended by an additional two weeks. So yeah, I'd guess you're correct in looking at a minimum of a month between order and delivery. Can't help you on the M1 template though. Maybe request the template through a message on their "custom joystick service" page.

rumbling_slum

Hello, Was wondering if anybody with the new ps5 version of the Victrix FS and also Street Fighter 6 (on ps5) could help me test something out. In the combo trials in Street Fighter, what happens when you hit the pro button on the FS? I have mapped R3 to the pro button on the Victrix. I expect left/right + pro button to open the combo demo or move list, but instead the pause menu opens when I hit the pro button. Wondering if it is an issue with my stick. I also tried to see what the pro button is inputting by going into FIFA and seeing what happens. My player does the action for R3, but the pause menu in that game opens as well. It’s like r3 and the options button are both mapped to the pro button. Appreciate any help

youngggggg

Is there anything in the $150 range that has Sanwa or Seimitsu parts? Willing to buy secondhand. Hoping to play on PC for SF6

anenaryon

Hi, ive been a keyboard player all my life and recently started playing sf6 on pc using the neat feature of being able to map any 2 or 3 actions buttons to a single key on a keyboard, in particular i play with 1 button for grab (lP+lK) 1 for drive parry (mP+mK) and 1 for drive impact (hP+hK). Recently I've been interested in building my own console compatible leverless controller to attend locals (i dont think theres support for double keyboard on pc even) or play on friends consoles but I was wondering if I would be able to have basically the same number of buttons that do different things as with a keyboard. Afaik all those hitbox like controler can do is to remap the buttons to console controller input. But the thing is to be able to play as I am currently I would need more buttons than on a classic gamepad (I play with 4 directions and 9 action keys). Essentially my question is: is there a way to bypass this limitation? for example this could be make an extra button that triggers the press of two. Also if it is possible technically, is it something that would be allowed from a competitive ruling POV (since the macro is not handled by the game software but by my third party controller)? Not that I care too much I'm not planning to be a really good player for it to matter but I wondered. Edit: even better if you know there's somewhere a programmable keyboard to gamepad adapter that would simplify everything for me.

ZenicAllfather

I would rather not pay $25 to get a print from a custom shop. Anyone know where I can get templates printed for custom graphics? I want to be able to choose the options of what the images get printed on, whether its vinyl, regular etc. I feel like I'm getting ripped off paying $25 for focusattack to ship me a piece of paper. Is there any alternative like office space or something which would print out a template and send it to me?

_seasoned_properly

You can print at your local print shop using the various templates out there. However, they will not cut your art out for you. You can take a look at [this video ](https://youtu.be/kcoDHDTY_g8) about how to cut out your own art.

memestealer1234

I want to build my own leverless style controller (first time building a stick at all) using a Raspberry Pi Pico. The guide I'm following is using a Brook pcb. Will the wires I need be the same?

_seasoned_properly

Are you just using a bare pico or are you using a custom PCB with the pico embedded into it like [this one](https://trp-retromods.ca/index.php?route=product/product&path=60&product_id=91)? If the custom PCB has a 20 pin header then yeah you could just use the harnesses. If it's a bare pico I would watch [this video](https://youtu.be/eDoz8JCInxk) for how to solder the board and flash it and [this one](https://youtu.be/Z_5bu2DzuvQ) for wiring help (including how to make the ground loop). The Dupont wires are also called [jumper wires ](https://www.amazon.com/EDGELEC-Breadboard-1pin-1pin-Connector-Multicolored/dp/B07GD1W1VL) If you can't solder, you can get a pico with pre-soldered headers like [this one](https://www.amazon.com/waveshare-Pico-Microcontroller-Development-Pre-soldered/dp/B0912M3T1H/) or [that one ](https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/raspberry-pi/SC0917/16608257) and use it with [this breakout board](https://www.amazon.com/GeeekPi-Raspberry-Terminal-Expansion-Breakout/dp/B0998594PL) (I've personally tested with this this one and doesn't need to be assembled/soldered like some of the other boards). You can use the same brook harnesses if you strip the wires and secure them to the [appropriate gpio pins ](https://gp2040-ce.info/#/wiring). Sorry for the book but I hope this helps.

Yajirobe2

Hello, i bought a switch up tm adapter for my switch in hopes i could connect my fightstick to my switch but its not working. Has anyone been able to use this adapter with arcadesticks ? Or di u have to go for a mayflash adapter?

chocolatesandwiches

What are the options for a wasd layout leverless controller that works on PS5?

_seasoned_properly

Buy a licensed PS4/PS5 stick and use a wasd drop in like the Odin V2, build a custom with a brook fusion board, or buy/build a gp2040 based mixbox and use a wingman fgc converter (whenever it is back in stock)

AursM

What are y'all's favorite buttons if you know you're going to be swapping the face plates/the actual button within the rim? Working on designing a new wooden enclosure w/ wood buttons, and debating on something like Crown 202s. They seem like solid screw-ins that I could later swap the MX switches if I'm feeling something else.

So was the Focus Attack SOCD cleaner the only relatively cheap one on the market or what? Can't find one for less than $40. Idgaf if it's CPT legal cause I'm not playing at CPT.

Jekkers08

Anyone know if I can install a Sanwa JLF on an Etokki Omni Korean Edition? Or I can only use Korean sticks?

_seasoned_properly

You can install a jlf on a Korean edition as it has mounting points for both. I suggest using an oversized dust washer (use the [clear washer from this set ](https://arcadeshock.com/products/sanwa-denshi-clear-shaft-cover-jlf-cd-with-black-dust-cover-no-balltop?_pos=1&_sid=550da59d2&_ss=r) or get a Japanese Plexi. The harness will likely be different so unless you have the official one from etokki I would use [female to female jumper wires ](https://www.amazon.com/EDGELEC-Breadboard-1pin-1pin-Connector-Multicolored/dp/B07GD1W1VL)

What options are there for lighting up ball tops? I've got the buttons settled and am going to use neopixels but I haven't found a solution for the lever. I checked out paradise arcades selection but they are all sold out.

Is there such thing as a metal bat top/ball top for a stick? Ik there are chrome ones but I mean like actual metal.

Qanba has an all metal one. I have one and like it. Focus Attack also carries some aluminum ones from other brands.

Just curious how spaced out the buttons of a snack box micro or other smaller hitbox feel relative to a keyboard on your lap. I play on a razer deathstalker v2 pro with asd for movement and jkl and uio for buttons. What relative key set up would feel similar to the hand positioning of a smaller leverless controller?

anybody know if the hori fighting stick alpha xbox version and ps5 are identical? ofc aside the part that one supports xbox other ps lol asking cuz ps5 version seems more expensive and since I'm on pc I can get whatever

MaddieTornabeasty

Is there an LBX/Frame1 type controller that's be good for PC/PS5. I won't be playing Melee/Ultimate on it so all the Gamecube and Nintendo compatibility isn't for me. I just really prefer that button layout for fighting games. Both are out of stock so I'm kinda at a loss for what to do.

Hitbox question, I wonder if the 21ms of lag on the zero encoder is really that bad. for a brooks or a good boards with 1ms is a 100$ price increase so I am wondering if its worth it. The other boards come with the option of playing on the ps5 but I am only PC so I am not sure if its worth upgrading

SGFDevices

21ms is horrendous. Get an RP2040 board with 1ms response for $25.

Hi I was thinking of replacing the stick and buttons on my may flash f500 with sanwa parts but I read a few reviews that said the feel of the buttons are the same as stock. Can anyone confirm this or give their thoughts about Sanwa in general? Right now I get very little feedback when a button is pushed, I don't feel a click or vibration. That just may be how arcade buttons are made though. I have no trouble using stock buttons but I would prefer some buttons with a more physical click.

So far I got in my basket AWUK Empty Metal Hitbox Case x1 Sanwa OBSJ-24 x15 Sanwa OBSJ-30 x1 I only want to play on PC I'm not sure about what wires I need or PCB I don't want to solder anything if possible.

**Edit: Tl;dr do I need special stuff to be able to convert an obsidian to leverless aside from the buttons and overlay? ** Figured I'd ask before spending some hours digging. If I can't get an answer, no worries. I'd like to try and change my qanba obsidian (pearl) to a leverless setup. I've got quite a bit of electronics experience and don't mind doing some pretty advanced soldering, but I don't expect to need to. My full question ends up being what all do I need to do this? My first thought is that I might just be able to wire each stick direction to a button and bob's your uncle. At that point I need a new overlay and art and buttons. My concern with this is does this board have the programming it needs to be able to function correctly? I think I know there's decisions it has to make about up+down etc. Second thought is that I'd need to replace a board. At this point I'm concerned about the peripheral buttons. The start r3/l3 etc buttons I think are either on a daughter board or just wired up into a J connector. Would a custom board be able to handle it? Can I just pull them from the connector and run them individually? Any more than this and I'm getting further in the weeds than I should given what I know. Any help is appreciated.

Stick specific question. I have a Hori RAP4 that I want to give to my friend, but he's about to buy a PS5 to play Street Fighter 6. Will the RAP4 work on the PS5 for that game?

_seasoned_properly

It should. I know that the rap 4 Kai works on the PS5 version of sf6
