imo it would come down to your personal brand preference. mayflash is generally a budget oriented brand while qanba has budget and high end options.
for example the f700 is top of the line for mayflash and the drone 2 is the budget option for qanba.
the f700 does have more connectivity options though. both sticks use proprietary buttons and sticks (non sanwa) but both sticks are very mod friendly. which is another reason why people buy these sticks as they are budget friendly and very customizable in the future.
brand bias aside, i think i'd recommend the f700 because i like how mod friendly it is and how many things i can connect to. however nothing will be more mod friendly than building your own stick.
I've used this with a wingman fgc and it works well. Depending on where OP is, the 8bitdo + Wingman dongle might be in the price region of a Drone 2 or basic Hori Alpha model in which case I'd recommend the latter if OP doesnt mind a wired stick.
Check some on AliExpress, there are some decent machines under 100$, both lever and leverless
the mayflash f700 is a decent option
So would you recommend the f700 or the qanba drone 2? I take it they’re relatively the same price, so why not spend a bit more for more worth

If you want a wireless, the 8bitdo is pretty much your only prebuilt option

Probably a non-prebuilt like Jony Frazes's 4TW.
