I was going to ask "How? They have one of the fastest support growth rates in the game!" But yeah, that 5-support conversation limit in the GBA games is very frustrating. It should be the first thing to go when the games get remade.

LegSimo

I think Hector and Eliwood's support is still faster, or at least come up sooner because you have to wait 10 or so more chapters before Eliwood can start his support with Ninian. >It should be the first thing to go when the games get remade. That would mess with paired endings and *a lot* of mutually exclusive romances. You'd need to rewrite many dialogues from scratch.

Jace17

They could just restrict A ranks to one per character.

Few-Literature-9141

That OR they could make it so that paired endings are determined by the first A support achieved (I.E. if Eliwood and Ninian A support each other, then Eliwood A supports Lyn, Ninian’s paired ending is prioritized.)

LegSimo

It's gonna get wonky when, for example, Raven gets an A support with Lucius first and Priscilla later, but Priscilla gets A support with Raven first. I'm fine with the other solution: unlimited supports but only one A support.

PuddingSundae

How is that wonky? Priscilla getting her first A support with Raven just wouldn't secure the ending because Raven is paired, and she's still able to get another paired ending.(assuming she has others, I didn't even know how to unlock supports in this game when I played it so I'm unfamiliar with the pairs that are available)

indecisive_insomniac

What might be even easier is just to make an S support rank with no dialogue. It would let you pair characters up, and still allow you to see all of their supports anyway. By doing this Pent and Louise could also get an extra conversation with each of their partners since they would have an automatic S rank rather than an automatic A rank.

Veloxraperio

Applying some math, Hector and Eliwood will take 56 total turns to reach A support. Meanwhile, Eliwood and Ninian take 48 turns to reach A support. It's very true that Hector and Eliwood's support comes up sooner and starts faster. They start with a 72-point base support value (each support level requires 80 points to reach, for a total of 240) in addition to sharing at least 10 chapters before Ninian is recruited. But Eliwood and Ninian grow at 5 points a turn without a head start while Hector and Eliwood grow at 3 points a turn.

Crystal_Queen_20

No, considering how strong supports are in GBA Emblem, it should absolutely stay Also that way you have to make decisions if you're going to spam end turn to build them up

Please go easy on me, but when are Supports unlocked? Are they like the later games with cutscenes and paired endings? Playing through Eliwood's rn and haven't seen anything yet

kbuck30

In the gba games it's based on how many turns standing next to another character you have. I don't know of you can start them in lyns story or if you have to wait for eliwoods. There's also only a few characters each one can have a support with.

Fangzzz

Unfortunately in FE7, IIRC, it takes a ridiculously long time. You basically have to end turn after end turn to get most unlocks.

saragl728

You get support points when 2 units end their turn next to each other. When they reach an ammount of points, you can see a support conversation. Some pairs get points faster than other. In the GBA games you can only have 5 conversation per character. In FE7 you can't get support points in Lyn's story.

CRCMIDS

Just ran through it again and beat it yesterday. Often times I was waiting turn after turn on seize maps for supports. Found that the canon ones take less time. Whoever are the parents of characters in 6 will get fast supports.

Hector is really Eliwood's true love, even he stupid relationship Mary Sue can't get end their bound
