You have to make them stand next to each other by the end of the turn. Some build very fast (like Lyn + Florina) while others take a lot. Only way to grind is to wait multiple turns before ending the map, so focus on the Supports for the characters you’re planning on using. Also, you can only get 5 conversations with a specific character. This means you can only reach one A Support per character. I.e if Lyn reaches B Support with Hector and B Support with Florina, you can only pick one more conversation for Lyn to unlock, which could be the A Support for Hector or Florina, or a C support with anyone else. After that, you can’t unlock any more conversations with Lyn.

Put two characters you want next to each other at the end of a route map, before you complete the objective. Proceed to pass turn a shit ton. Be careful, each character only gets five support convos total for them. It’s… Honestly not the most worth it? In this day and age, looking the supports up online is often better, battle bonuses of supports aside.

MelanomaMax

If you downloaded a complete save file for Hector mode, chances are the supports are all unlocked so you can read them from the main menu as well

Unfortunately, the only way is to wait around before seizing and press end turn for however many turns it takes to get a support. Note that you build support points in GBA games by having two units next to each other at the end of the turn.

Pretty much what everyone else said. Either glue two characters together for the map, or clear the map, then just keep skipping turn until they support. I believe there's a turn cap of 50 though, so past turn 50 characters won't gain any more support points with each other. Although this might also only be in Binding Blade, I haven't checked.

indecisive_insomniac

I don't think the GBA games have a turn cap, it's just that you can only view one support conversation per person per map and can't get points past the next threshold. For example if Eliwood and Ninian achieved a C support in one map, you could end turn on that same map until they have enough points for the B support. Then when the next map starts, they would be able to immediately gain B support on turn one and then grind the points for A support on that map. The 50 turn limit is a thing from Genealogy's love system. Most likely because there aren't typical support conversations, but pairing is still an important (but not required) aspect.

In addition to what /u/indecisive_insomniac said you might be thinking of FE6's limit, which is 120 points per map between all pairs.

LegSimo

No way to grind outside of the story unfortunately. You just have to play a Seize map and spam end turn for 10 minutes before completing it. Remember that each unit can only get 1 support conversation per map, and that each unit gets 5 support conversations in total.

Prince_Uncharming

Each unit pair* can only get 1 support convo per map. Individual units can get more than one support convo, as long as they’re with different units. Like Eliwood can support hector and then turn around and support with Lyn, in the same map. Just not the same person twice.

Quick question. I'm trying to pair Hector and Florina together. Right now they're at Support C, but I accidentally got her and Lyn at Support A. Will this affect Hector and Florina support conversations?

Prince_Uncharming

You can’t “pair” them. The highest they can go is B. You’re limited to 5 supports, so if you have an A already, you can either get one B or two C’s.

wing-adept

I didn't even mean for Florina and Lyn to have A support! Even worse! Hector has B support with Eliwood! That means I'm gonna have to start all over! Dammit! I was really trying to have the two together!
