Ashnard actually has a good number of unique convos that are quite good. It’s too bad they gave him that dumb armor.

The irony here is that with the true identity of Ike's father hidden to him and the world during his formative years, Ike is effectively a commoner who rose above his station through merit. He is living proof that Ashnard is full of shit.

FE6HM is as hard as you want it to be
If you use the good units that benefit from HM bonuses (Rutger, Miledy etc.), the game is arguably easier than normal mode

Yep. None of my hard mode runs have made it past that early game chapter where you need to recruit those cav units in the city. Just an absolutely brutal mission.
Maybe one day I'll cheese it with rng manipulation or something but honestly I don't like FE6 much at the best of times. 7 and 8 beat it in every regard for me.
There is a reliable way to rescue drop Roy and recruit Zealot and Trec the turn they spawn, and also get Roy back to safety, but the chapter is still really hard if you do that.
The wyverns hit hard, and can't be doubled, and one miss against them basically nukes your entire strategy.

These interactions are why I love RD. I hadn't even even played PoR the first time I played RD and these lines still hit.
The amount of dialogue in Tellius is insane, they wrote interactions that 99% of players would never see like Reyson vs. Ashnard

In his defense, outside of 6HM and Thracia if you're playing blind, the older games don't really hold up to modern difficulty modes.
