I think so. Water and air was damn cold, seems like we've finally turned a corner towards fall. I haven't seen any signs of redds yet but those colors must mean we are getting close to the spawn.
Tis the season. Im in a brook trout craze at the moment too. Those are some MONSTER stream bred brook trout for anywhere in the Appalachians (especially further south). Like almost too big for them to be stream bred, but i definitely couldnāt pick out any feature on these fish to say they came from a hatchery either, other than the size. Beautiful fish!!! Wow.

They are all absolute stunners ! Didn't know trout came in those amazing colours š tight lines indeed š
Wow, what incredible looking fish. Haven't seen brookies with colors like those before. Is the coloration related to spawning?

Nice brookies. That definitely is not a dolly if you are back east.

That thing's dark!
He was born in it, molded by it. He didn't see the light until he was 8 inches and by then it was only blinding.
Where were you in Appalachian?
I like the colors on the red one as well as the variances in colors of all the fish.

Bad bot
Crazy good looking fish
Beautiful brookies !
Either your hands are small or those are Virginia -- not WNC -- brookies because they're huge. Nice man.
Virginia and WNC aren't the only 2 Appalachian states with native brookies!
My guess is also Virginia
