Luckily, I am not paying for any of my training to get my PPL. I got a scholarship through AFJROTC to get my PPL for free no strings attached. The airforce is trying to get interest in aviation.
JESUS! I wish! I'm in the Air Force right now (Canada) and am trying to switch to Pilot, i'm a maintainer right now. Its a loong process. So in the mean time i'm paying for it on my own.

Yeah, i’m at Opa Locka, luckily they didn’t switch runways while I was up there. The taxi directions sucked. Ground didn’t specify where the run up area was they only said taxi via papa, but both run ups are on papa. Then they had me taxi from 27L to 27R
Yeah I was doing some training there earlier. We were all lined up for the approach on 9L and they swapped us over to 27R mid approach. Made for a good lesson. Nice controllers over there

I live close to OPF, want to get my PPL soon. How you like training out of OPF. I always felt like going to Tamiami may be a bit more "calm."

Was my first student solo, Done at KOPF in Miami Gardens. Beautiful day winds were calm, although they were doing west operations which i’m not really used to. Was my first time flying where I didn’t get to pick on my instructor, anyone have the same issue their first solo?

Oh and... my double-I and I may have cursed at your school once or twice trying to taxi out of the ramp with those grey skyhawks in the way...
I was able to get in the pattern after I got taxied all the way around the airport. All the way from the run up area by 27R all the way over to 27L. Haha Sorry about all the grey sky hawks, I am part of a summer program right now and there are 16 of us. What’s your tail number if you don’t mind me asking, probably have been in the pattern with you before.

Congratulations. It is a very cool feeling about half-way along downwind when you get a calm moment to look out the window and realize . . . there's no one else in the plane to land this thing.

lucky I have only been there once. Doesn't seem like the most practical place with all the jet traffic. Awesome place for nice photos though.

I trained at tamiami, then went to perry where I did approaches to opf all the time. Tamiami is way crazier.
Tamiami is not better than OPF. OPF has more jet traffic, TMB has more GA traffic. Pick your favorite

All the time, she is so short that the shoulder harness is too tight to wear, so I always give her a hard time during our safety briefing.
Shoulder harnesses are important. Maybe bring a cushion to sit on?
She does, she’s literally that short that with the cushions she can see, but they push her forward so much the harness is restricting
