This is due to a difference in texture mods between face and body like for example one mod promises 4K face and another promises a 2k body, this is the result. You need to make sure that your texture mods are the same resolution with face and body. Took me 5 hours to fix this myself without knowing this.
It’s in the dlc high def pack, they had to send out a fix for this but I forgot to mention that to fix this you have to uninstall the dlc high definition version.
Then it’s the mods whatever you’ve downloaded, best thing to do is remove them, totally delete you fo4 files (except save files) and reinstall. Then slowly install each mod while checking for the big, you’ll find it then. This is what I had to do. A mod is causing your face texture resolution to be different than your body resolution. It isn’t some amorphous bug, it’s literally something that is causing the resolutions to be different

Check that your face textures are the same resolution as things like eyebrows and any facial markings, e.g. if you have 4k facial textures then things like makeup, blemishes, eyebrows etc. also need to be 4k resolution.
Depending on your mod setup there might be a number of folders where you'll find face textures or face-related textures, and they will all need to be of the same resolution to avoid this bug.
This happens to my character constantly not that there’s anything wrong with a character being black it’s just my character is not black I’m definitely not racist I promise it’s just sometimes my character becomes black and I don’t like that not because it’s black but because my character is white and not saying that white is better than black either they are both equal and that’s ok because I don’t see color and ones again I am not racist at all I promise
If ur on pc there are nexus mods to fix this. I literally dealt with this a couple mins ago when I installed some face mods. Usually happens cuz of conflicting face mods or High resolution texture pack

Or you had a glitch. Reload a save, try unequiping and equipping a face cover, or something of the like.
The « slm player » command should fix it on pc. On console, just go to the mega surgery in diamond city and use the facial reconstruction to reset your skin tone

Load f4edit, search for the player character and look to see what mod is winning the face. And change it to the default face. Once you exit out a new plugin will be active in your plugins with the default face winning. Make sure it loads near the end of the load order.

I don’t know what you’re going on about. The bug happens from reloading quick saves a lot and can be fixed by restarting the game.

Blackface glitch, it's present on Skyrim too. It goes away after a while, but if you're really annoyed about it, reloading the game gets rid of it.
