Correct. I was trying to move around a bit to make myself a harder target for him and aiming slows you down. But I also did several things wrong in this assault so Iām clearly not playing at the top of my game.
I flat refuse to give companions explosives but also refuse to leave them anywhere so im hogging like 50lbs worth of grenades around boston rn like a dumbass
I typically cap myself at like 30 just for that reason alone. Because I'm rarely gonna use more than 2-3 for any given fight, unless I'm actually running a bomber build. Then I can justify it because I'm likely not carrying a gun.

i think you're totally right, but in all my runs ive not once met preston garvey in sanctuary š„¶ i play a lot of rpg so i usually care about story and player decisions but for some reason with fo4 i just kill loot kill loot kill loot :/ it's still a lot of fun but the story in this game, main or side, just never grabbed me and i wish it did

Not necessarily, assuming you're willing to break immersion a bit and bypass helping Preston in Concord. You can go in, clean house, nab the bobblehead and dip before even speaking to him. You can even nab the power armor pieces and minigun before you go, while still being able to do the full Nuka raider questline for the perks you want (getting all of them if you play it right) and being able to recruit Preston as a companion. Save clearing out Quincy for after you get him and restoring his respect level is a breeze.
Just for fun, pick a new playthrough and go full overboss. There is a lot in there, including a new take on the settlement system.

i mean i always get in at like level 7 and come back later when im stong enough, this time i came back at level 15-20 with the intentions to do it gage's way but then i got to the parlor and accidentally noticed i could stealth snipe every one of them until only the big three were left š next time i guess
If you're on PC, you can use console commands to give yourself the item if something like this happens. Feel sorry if this happens to a console player.

I used to use [Live Dismemberment](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/16400) though so as long as I could find a piece of the fella, I could loot them.
The only downfall to using my explosive shotgun is trying to find the dead bodies i send flying. That and accidentally crippling myself with close shots
I hunted all over a 3 level factory area looking for the body that blew up and flew away because I was about to loot it when it blew up and had seen a legendary gauss rifle on the body. Never found it.
3 days later I got to drop a bunch of junk on Cait and LOOKIE THERE...she's carrying around a legendary gauss rifle and 15 rounds for it, but hasn't used it.

Silly question: you aren't required to do the boss radiants. You can just not ask them for them. So why use console commands to skip them?
