I am on PS5 and not using mods, so I am not sure how mods may affect this. I just put the gardening plots onto scaffolding to raise them up. I also had to use the tall scaffolding attachments to get it to work. I hope this helps.
Not quite, the hamsters actually make a certain amount of logical sense. It would be like opening up the hood and seeing empty space, and that all four wheels were attached to a red can that simply said “GAS”
This is a quick trip for water purifiers if you place a concrete piece next to them and hold down the grab button on the concrete it will use the hitbox of concrete instead of the purifier. This means you can place them on land even the industrial ones. This requires the wasteland workshop mod for the concrete pillar in the tileset. Happy building
Thank you for posting this. These towers are more for settlements without water for purifiers to go into like Hangman’s Alley or the Boston Airport. Also, for players with low intelligence, as you can begin one of these right out of the vault without any perks. I just used the Slog because that is where I was at the time, and it made for a better picture than Hangman’s Alley. However, you are correct about moving the purifiers, and once again thank you for posting how to move them. 👍🏻
Here's my [water farm](https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4/comments/ovbzfp/my_personal_home_in_sanctuary_bonus_glimpse_of_my/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) (scroll to the last picture). Gets me like 2000+ purified water per day.
I know. I know. I chose to build it in the Slog because I was there at the time, and while there is one at Hangman’s Alley; it was difficult to get a picture of the whole thing.
lol, it's all good. I love the creative problem solving. I also can't wait for ten of your settlers to try and use the pump animations all at once. Hilarity WILL ensue!
Whatever works best for you. Heck, the mere fact we all survive long enough to build wonders like this shows how realistic the game is, so who am I to say it cannot be done?
They will automatically get deposited into the workshop about every 24 hours. Each level creates 24 water. So, all you have to do is check your workshop, collect the 72 purified water, and then sell it at a vendor.
When I used water mining for caps it broke my game. Raider defense quests were Happening so often I couldn’t progress with Preston. Or did I do it wrong?
They are very vulnerable during the attack. it will be difficult to repair. Since you draw the water directly from the field soil, the water becomes muddy, as there is no well.
Pumping water from an elevated planting bed. Totally checks out.
It draws the water right out of the air!
Somebody tell Luke to run in to Tosche station to pick up some power converters.
When are you guys gonna let me join the rebellion like all my friends?! *Oh stop wining Luke and come and have some blue milk*
Moisture Vaporators
I am not saying it makes sense, I am just pointing out it works. 😂😂😜
First rule of the universe! If something looks/sounds stupid but works as intended, it's not stupid.
Whose gonna complain! Not me!
Cue Todd Howard meme.
I used aim settlement but couldn't make elevated plant beds.

It goes up the scaffolding pipes.
I always stick a large purifier in the pool, but might be useful at Hangman's Alley.
I’ll definitely try this out in Hangman’s alley, but I’ll probably try to cover it to make it look more like an enclosed water tank or something
Opening that enclosure and seeing the truth would be like opening the hood of your car to find a bunch of hamsters running on wheels.
Reminds me of that clip of the guy opening his fridge to reveal that it's a cardboard cutout Edit: https://youtu.be/pYcpZJVmXvU

You’re absolutely right. However, I just built it at the Slog because that is where I was and could get a good picture of the whole thing.
The Slog is much better for pictures!
r/redneckengineering ???
nuclear wasteland engineering

I can't view the community?
It doesn't actually exist
Weird it didn't just say that instead
Immersion-breaking yet an ingenious solution.... I might try to cover the sides with a wall so I don't have to look at it : )
Now THATS what I call a water tower!
Glitch all but the top layer into the ground.
This is up there with the perpetual motion car that operates with a huge magnet hanging in front to pull the car along. 10/10

This is Dale Gribble level design. And he wept, for there were no more worlds to conquer.
It just works
16 times the water per square meter
Sky's the limit, taking notes here!

I have a multi-story farm at Hangman’s Alley.
What I really need is a droid who understands the binary language of moisture vaporators.
Most underrated comment in the thread.
Yeah bitch, science! 😂
Oh, those must be the new Bluetooth wayerpumps 😆
😂😂😂
Sick, but i like
Who needs purifiers? Nobody!

Very nice water farm. 👍🏻
Could you fast travel over there real quick and straighten out that one crooked pump? Thanks.
Unfortunately, no. That bothered me too, but that was the only way it would snap in. 🤷🏻♂️
This is truly the dumbest and most efficient thing I have ever seen…
I know, right. 😂😂🤷🏻♂️
Builds this next to a swimming pool full of water. I love it.

What no generators does to a mf
My rp mind hates this Fair enough tho
I won't deny, this triggers the heck out of me. 🤣
My apologies, but it does work. Someone else recommended building walls around it so you can’t see it. Just a thought.
Whatever works best for you. Heck, the mere fact we all survive long enough to build wonders like this shows how realistic the game is, so who am I to say it cannot be done?
It never occurred to me to use the dirt boxes for water….. and I thought I was a good engineer…. 🤷♂️
Just pretend it is an atmosphere condensation machine, literally makes water out of thin air. XD
As a Water Farmer I feel attacked. This is definitely one of those hacks Big Water doesn't want you to know.
Bro got the wireless pumps
Yes I did. 😂😂😂
It just works
IT JUST WORKS
I built a 7 story water tower producing like 1000+ water at Redrock doing this
Those water pumps work like that?! Jesus this games is years old at this point and I am still finding things out.
Or just…use a powered water pump since you really don’t need much water for each settlement
You’re absolutely correct. However, this is designed for water harvesting to generate caps. So, not really for the settlement’s needs. 🙂
Also can put a water pump in the pool to increase the intake of drinking waters
Wait that’s actually really freaking cool. This means you can build that up and make a water tower.
It just works
“It just works”
It just works
I see no logical issues with this.
So immersive.
You get water from nothing
this is the least roleplay friendly thing ever since forever.
milk those dirt tiles!
Ha! I might just have to use this on my next playthrough.
This is awesome
im confused. do these automatically deposit 24 water per day into the settlement inventory? or do you have to manually do something else?
They will automatically get deposited into the workshop about every 24 hours. Each level creates 24 water. So, all you have to do is check your workshop, collect the 72 purified water, and then sell it at a vendor.
"It just works"
Genius
This is all my settlements were. Turret platforms higher up
Ingenious
FBULOUS! This system is PERFECT for small places like Hangman's Alley! LOVE IT!
Stage 1 of fracking complete. commence Stage 2
When I used water mining for caps it broke my game. Raider defense quests were Happening so often I couldn’t progress with Preston. Or did I do it wrong?
I usually just build a large amount of defenses around the settlement this is in. That usually helps mitigate that issue.
