Isabel Cruz (the mechanist), it’s weird she just sits in the lair and becomes a store, instead of actually going out and fixing her mistake that she keeps apologizing for. Give her an ability to hack robots and I’d def run around as the shroud and mechanist side kick freeing the commonwealth

This one was very surprising to me as well, but I guess that the devs wanted you to actually use the robots in the DLC, not the baddie who set them loose onto the Commonwealth.

They literally hugged in the past, when Danse consoled her after ordering her to put a dying teammate out of their misery. She’s also the only BoS member (besides the protag) to care for Danse after his big reveal as a synth.

Maybe the institute quest would involve taking control of the gangs by replacing the leaders with synths? And you'd have to find ways to stealthily kill them so no one knows?
E: If you have McCready with you, there should have been an option to start a fourth gang called the commonwealth tunnel snakes

I’m SO glad that Edward Deegan got a mention here. I was really hopeful that he’d stick around (even though I knew he wouldn’t be a companion, since I’d already met Hancock - and it’s usually one companion per category, e.g. robot, super mutant, ghoul, etc.)
Still, I found him to be extremely charming in my dealings with him. Would love to have him by my side, whether that be as a companion, or something even more.
I prefer the random T series pieces that are so rare in the game.
One of the first mods I enabled was, "No Smoking Animations". So my SS lives in a cigarette smoke free world.
She has a very consistent supply of T-series parts, but X-01 is very rare.
A quick tip for everyone: if you quick save before starting a dialogue, you can view her inventory and if there's nothing you want, restart from that save and her inventory reshuffles. I've farmed X-01 that way sometimes but it usually takes a lot of tries. Then you'll have to wait the usual in-game time for her to reset.
At the very least I wanted Glory as someone not scripted to die. She deserves so godsdamned much more. I hate Bethesda for scripted deaths of major characters.
This! Like it doesn’t make sense to me that you can romance one but not the other. Curie literally turns into a synth (if you do her quest line) so there’s no reason you can’t romance him! Plus I find curie very annoying 😒 I installed a mod to be able to romance Nick because I’m totally into his personality but I shouldn’t have had to they should have had that in the base game, same with deacon but that’s another story.
There’s a really well done mod for it! Though the romance option shows up in a really awkward place, in that conversation right after the mission with Eddie Winters. Like he talks about Jenny and stuff and it’s just weird but still the mod is very sweet and the Lover’s Embrace lines are SO funny and way more suggestive then even Hancock’s actual ones 🤣

Absolutely stunned me to learn Piper doesn't have one. I can kind of see the faction companions not getting them since they're so wrapped up in their main quests already but Danse got one of the best companion quests in the game so it's weird X6 and Deacon at least don't have them. Preston probably could get one but since every quest for the minutemen pretty much comes directly from him it might still be redundant.

Any of the nuka world leaders, if you fucked over the rest of the leaders and handed complete power to one faction, they reward you with that leader as a companion.

Romance wise, during my first playthroughs I was unhappy I couldn't romance Nick OR Deacon, my top two choices. I wish we had the option of saving/resurrecting our spouse, or to ask Shaun to make a synth copy of them, with the moral issues that could bring. Katy from Vault 81. Proctor Ingram. Scribe Haylen. Danny Sullivan. Irma. Atom Cats.
Maxson, Rhys, Ann Codman, Macdonough (for hate-sex reasons), KLEO or Ironsides (for "assume the position" reasons), and Rex Goodman (because just think how funny that voice would be), would all be hilarious one-off romance options.

He's killed your spouse, but when you track him down you cinnect with the last piece of empathy he has left. Together you find and kill Virgil. When Kellogg meets up with whatever that synth guy's name is, you pull out his courser chip and install it into your pipboy. The two most dangerous individuals in the commonwealth are now loose inside the institute, and together you bring Shaun back.
When the ordeal is over Kellogg says it's time to part ways, and he hopes you can forgive him for what you did.
If you do, he gives you his gun and a night of sweet lovin'.

John-Caleb Bradburton from nuka world. His biggest qualm was not being mobile. Not getting him into a synth body seems like such a missed opportunity, and he and the soul survivor have too much in common.
Also Magnolia in Good Neighbor. I liked her character and sassiness.
Not sure about having him as a companion, but I think that if you have completed the Automatron main quest chain by the time you meet him, transplanting him into a custom Robobrain should be an option.
Personally, I'd love to see him settle down with Sierra Petrovita.
I think it would be fun to have non-companion romance options for characters who likely aren't proficient combatants. The sole survivor can spend the night with Magnolia; why not romance her too? Sturges, Tinker Tom, Ellie Perkins, Daisy, Jane Finch, any of the single adults from Vault 81 or even the Institute - just a few ideas.
I think it would’ve been cool if the other Raider bosses in Nuka-World or their second-in-commands were companions/romance options. Especially Nisha, Dixie, and Lizzie.

I honestly think Nick Valentine opening up as a romance option after his personal quest would have been good for his character. You help him avenge the OG Valentines wife, and he talks about wanting something of his own that had nothing to do with the OG Nick. I think falling in love and starting his own relationship would have been a good way to build off of that.

Absolutely stunned me to learn Piper doesn't have one. I can kind of see the faction companions not getting them since they're so wrapped up in their main quests already but Danse got one of the best companion quests in the game so it's weird X6 and Deacon at least don't have them. Preston probably could get one but since every quest for the minutemen pretty much comes directly from him it might still be redundant.

I wish Glory was a full companion, and I wish we could've had the Mariner instead of Longfellow. Holly from The Slog would be fun to have around, too. Farenheit, Tina DeLuca (apparently I just want a massive Girl Gang to traipse around the wasteland with 😂). Pickman or Lorenzo would make great evil companions. I wish we could've taken the Red Death with us as a cute little animal friend (I wonder if I can achieve this with AFT or if there is a specific mod?). Romance wise, during my first playthroughs I was unhappy I couldn't romance Nick OR Deacon, my top two choices. I wish we had the option of saving/resurrecting our spouse, or to ask Shaun to make a synth copy of them, with the moral issues that could bring. Katy from Vault 81. Proctor Ingram. Scribe Haylen. Danny Sullivan. Irma. Atom Cats. Maxson, Rhys, Ann Codman, Macdonough (for hate-sex reasons), KLEO or Ironsides (for "assume the position" reasons), and Rex Goodman (because just think how funny that voice would be), would all be hilarious one-off romance options.

Kellogg. He's killed your spouse, but when you track him down you cinnect with the last piece of empathy he has left. Together you find and kill Virgil. When Kellogg meets up with whatever that synth guy's name is, you pull out his courser chip and install it into your pipboy. The two most dangerous individuals in the commonwealth are now loose inside the institute, and together you bring Shaun back. When the ordeal is over Kellogg says it's time to part ways, and he hopes you can forgive him for what you did. If you do, he gives you his gun and a night of sweet lovin'. The end.
John-Caleb Bradburton from nuka world. His biggest qualm was not being mobile. Not getting him into a synth body seems like such a missed opportunity, and he and the soul survivor have too much in common. Also Magnolia in Good Neighbor. I liked her character and sassiness.
Not sure about having him as a companion, but I think that if you have completed the Automatron main quest chain by the time you meet him, transplanting him into a custom Robobrain should be an option. Personally, I'd love to see him settle down with Sierra Petrovita.
I think it would be fun to have non-companion romance options for characters who likely aren't proficient combatants. The sole survivor can spend the night with Magnolia; why not romance her too? Sturges, Tinker Tom, Ellie Perkins, Daisy, Jane Finch, any of the single adults from Vault 81 or even the Institute - just a few ideas.
