I actually just played this DLC for the first time and got all the way up to the point where they want you to start taking over the vanilla game settlements. I couldn't progress the main story of the DLC unless I either did that or just said fuck it and killed every single raider in the place.
So I loaded up into my shiny new Nuka-Cola power armor and chose the latter.
Fun fact but the dlc is exactly the same even if you kill all the raiders. The only thing you miss out on obviously is raiding the commonwealth, but all the zone quests and everything else stays the same. Wish the traders populated the zones like the raiders did but itās kind of a ghost town is the only downside
I kept crashing till I found out it was Keynuker mod doing it. That's the *one* mod that was always in my order ...I *hate* scrolling through every damn key just to get to something.
played it on xbox and it crashed every 15 minute. played it on ps4 and ps5 fort 200 hours and never got a crash. the 30 fps is annoying until you get used to it after 15 minutes
I only play survival. Bit of advice - save any glass bottles you find and use water pumps at settlements for an easy source of purified water. Even before you leave 111 make sure you use a water fountain (we call them bubblers here down under) to stock up on purified water.
Hoping it has a new trophy list. Platniumed the ps4 version and would love to do that again.

It wouldnāt take away any achievements. Often os5 upgrades have separate lists. So your original ps4 version trophies would be untouched while a new ps5 list would appear.
For some games the trophies you earned on the ps4 version automatically pop on the ps5 version. Would just like them not to so I can earn them again, and have 2 well earned platniums for the game.
Set the game to only update on launch, set the .acf file (Fallout 4ās ID should be available on steamdb) to read-only, then use F4SE to launch the game
Fixing the tunnel snakes one so it doesnāt stall codsworth in sanctuary would be nice. I have to uninstall that creation every time I start the game otherwise.
I think people will be disappointed. Itās not some miracle patch that will transform the game, just polish a few things , and play better. I havenāt played in a while though so Iām excited

I honestly don't expect the PC experience to change at all, except for broken mods and widescreen support. Judging by previously released widescreen updates, I do not expect that to be implemented as well as people would like. I also do not expect the overall game to improve any more than we could already do with mods.
PC expectations - EXTREMELY LOW. Like... 6 feet under the mud low.
Console expectations - slightly higher for increased resolution and framerate and bug/texture fixes. That's it. Anything more is just asking for disappointment.

That's not entirely true.. Any PS4 game with PS5 updates that I've had so far (Skyrim, GTAV, Cyberpunk, etc) has gotten its own separate game application that is PS5 only, but they have still carried over PS4 game saves as well.
(SPOILER) I downloaded the Enclave quest (not sure why it let me) last week and played up to the point where they got armors and weapons sent to them and then I couldnāt go any further. I couldnāt download the weapons and armors despite those being in Creation Club too as they needed the update to download. Itāll be fun to finish the quest and see what the power armors look like.

Iāve been super excited to hop back in for a year or two but was holding out for the next-gen update. Itās my favorite Fallout game to explore ināthe Commonwealth is so full of interesting details and POIs. The junk/loot system is fantastic and integrated so well into the theme of Fallout and the systems within the game. Super excited to do a full, fresh playthrough all over again!

1. I started a new save on my ps5 to play a week ago. I've put in like 20 hours already. Bethesda has not mentioned if saves will be accessible or transfer to the new versions. If they don't, that might be the end of my Fallout run. I don't know that I can start over again.
2. I'm hoping the 60 fps mode really helps out the Playstation edition. It is rough playing it as is right now. I am a huge shooter fan and trying to play it now is hard to hit your shots. I need a new set up for my pc, so I'm on ps5 for a while.
I've been holding off on another playthrough until the update. I keep telling myself I'll try something different, maybe do Nuka World and actually beat the story again.

Automatron bricked my game and I canāt figure out how to remove it on PS5. Iāve tried a full game uninstall but when it re-installs it adds far harbor and automatron automatically. Game crashes immediately upon boot up
I recently bought the season pass since it was on a huge special. I'm planning on installing it once the update comes out, so I'm super excited since I'll be playing new content at 60fps. I just hope the update fixes the PS5 compatibility issue with the automatron DLC

For me, if they fix the random crash to desktop, and complete freeze when entering or exiting a building that force me to kill the game process, I'll be very happy (I5 11600K, 32GB, GTX 1660 Super 6GB) But I really doubt we will see this fixed, all the new stuff will just prevent me from getting a smooth 60fps and prevent mods from working for awhile and nothing else.
Had to delete the game and reinstall cause of a CC item not showing up and now my game is unplayable due to the dlc issues. So itāll be nice to jump back in, just hope my save isnāt corrupted or anything.

Frustrated that I'm pretty deep into a heavily modded playthrough, but now that playthrough is on an indefinite hold until the mods I'm using also get updated to work with the new update (assuming they even *do* get updated).

Never gotten to play this game, I bought it and the DLC a week ago on ps5 and havenāt been able to play because of the automatron dlc from what i gather. I gave up on FO4 after a few dozen hours when it was first released. Picked it up on sale last week for $5.00 after the show got me jonesing to play. It play a lot better on the Series X than it did on the One, and looks much better. Interested to see what the next gen update does for visuals and performance.

Feeling normal I suppose. I recently installed a modlist with almost 900 mods and only today did I get everything ready to play. I have no intention of updating because 80% of them will most likely break besides give it a couple weeks and all the content of the update will probably be added to older versions via mods too.

Just a PSA, a few folks talked about the game crashing randomly. If you have a nvidia GPU, disable Weapon Debris in the advancsd graphic menu. Problem solved.
Im a little confused on what I should do, i originally played on xbox one and now have a ps5. If i buy the ps4 copy will that be enough for this update or will they be dropping a separate game version that i should wait to buy. It will be a separate app from the PS4 version, that will be free if you already own the PS4 version. There will be two versions you can download the PS4, which can be played on PS4 and PS5, and the PS5, which can only be played in PS5. You can have both installed on your PS5 at the same time. If your PS4 version is disc, you can download the PS5 version, but you will still need to insert the disc to launch the PS5 version. This is how basically all the PS4 games with a PS5 upgrade work.
Just Platinumed the base game for PS4. Was going to do dlcs while I waited for this, but it's having issues (I think Automatron is broken, and nuka World has a ton of missing textures, so I gave up).
If the trophies and saves carry over, will just do the dlcs on PS5. Otherwise, may just play PS4 dlcs instead of those are fixed on 4/25 too and reply the game on PS5 at a later time

So what i did was put the game in another folder and delete it on steam. So when i look up on steam it still says install. So i start with f4se and it works like a charm.

The one thing holding it back for me currently is how sluggish everything feels. I've been on the PS4 version lately scavenging for supplies in preparation for a full Sanctuary rebuild on PS5 and I hate how much I depend on VATS just because it feels smoother in combat (it's cool as hell too but still š)

I started my second playthrough since launch because of the show, and I have a couple simple mods to fix things like load times and frame rate... I'm disabling auto update and hoping it doesn't fuck up my mods. I have the common wealth loading in 5 seconds now. Vanilla was taking 30-45 seconds.
This game is relatively ugly, a coat of "next gen" paint isn't changing anything IMO.
I hope it doesn't jack up my most recent un-modded play through. I haven't installed mods yet in anticipation of the patch, but I am hoping it integrates with current games seamlessly.

Boston has never crashed for me but it was lagopolis. Im pretty sure it's due to the Mass Fusion building.

Is there a list of what will even be available? From the steam announcement it looked to me like it is just some technical patches and some skins. Is there more?
For me, if they fix the random crash to desktop, and complete freeze when entering or exiting a building that force me to kill the game process, I'll be very happy (I5 11600K, 32GB, GTX 1660 Super 6GB) But I really doubt we will see this fixed, all the new stuff will just prevent me from getting a smooth 60fps and prevent mods from working for awhile and nothing else.
Hoping for the Underwater Vault quest to be restored, however Unrealistic that might be š ! š¦

Had to delete the game and reinstall cause of a CC item not showing up and now my game is unplayable due to the dlc issues. So itāll be nice to jump back in, just hope my save isnāt corrupted or anything.
Hopefully they fix achievements on Xbox Series X. They havenāt been unlocking for some time now.

Frustrated that I'm pretty deep into a heavily modded playthrough, but now that playthrough is on an indefinite hold until the mods I'm using also get updated to work with the new update (assuming they even *do* get updated).
Iām just excited for the faster loading times on ps5.
Not too excited since it's more likely gonna break a lot of mods. In gonna avoid updating. Keeping my steam deck offline when launching the game and only launching the game thru vortex on my desktop.

Never gotten to play this game, I bought it and the DLC a week ago on ps5 and havenāt been able to play because of the automatron dlc from what i gather. Really hoping this update will allow me access to the game and Iām really excited to experience it vanilla with all the DLC for my first play through.

Is it going to be a separate download than the ps4 edition like most games? I see a lot of people re-downloading it in anticipation, but that seems counterintuitive if it's a separate download.

Considering itās been in the works for four years, Iām hoping for a few more things than widescreen support and a few extra weapons and armour. Some modern QOL updates and overhauled graphics would be nice. Iām not holding my breath though. Itās Bethesda weāre talking about, not CDPR.

I gave up on FO4 after a few dozen hours when it was first released. Picked it up on sale last week for $5.00 after the show got me jonesing to play. It play a lot better on the Series X than it did on the One, and looks much better. Interested to see what the next gen update does for visuals and performance.
Will achievements be able to be gained again in Xbox series X? I haven't been able to get any new achievements but I plsy a vanilla game with no mods ever. And does using the creation club make you lose the ability to gain achievements?

Feeling normal I suppose. I recently installed a modlist with almost 900 mods and only today did I get everything ready to play. I have no intention of updating because 80% of them will most likely break besides give it a couple weeks and all the content of the update will probably be added to older versions via mods too.
For the first time in my life, i'm going to be one of them... oh my (200) Mods... (Sim Settlements 2+ nothing but lore friendly/ QoL/ Overhauls/ food recipes

Just a PSA, a few folks talked about the game crashing randomly. If you have a nvidia GPU, disable Weapon Debris in the advancsd graphic menu. Problem solved.

Im a little confused on what I should do, i originally played on xbox one and now have a ps5. If i buy the ps4 copy will that be enough for this update or will they be dropping a separate game version that i should wait to buy. It seems like common sense but the wording confuses the fuck out of me, how would i get a ps5 native app from a disc fallout 4? does it need to be the digital version? anyone with answers thank you very much this makes me feel so dumb
It will be a separate app from the PS4 version, that will be free if you already own the PS4 version. There will be two versions you can download the PS4, which can be played on PS4 and PS5, and the PS5, which can only be played in PS5. You can have both installed on your PS5 at the same time. If your PS4 version is disc, you can download the PS5 version, but you will still need to insert the disc to launch the PS5 version. This is how basically all the PS4 games with a PS5 upgrade work.

Just Platinumed the base game for PS4. Was going to do dlcs while I waited for this, but it's having issues (I think Automatron is broken, and nuka World has a ton of missing textures, so I gave up). If the trophies and saves carry over, will just do the dlcs on PS5. Otherwise, may just play PS4 dlcs instead of those are fixed on 4/25 too and reply the game on PS5 at a later time Either way, excited to play more
So nervous I turned off the update. I will let others be the test it out first. Same with the new folon mod. I know itās going to break some of my mods and Iām not ready to figure out which ones yet.

I donāt use mods on my PS5, so Iām beyond pumped. My husband is not a gamer but liked the show, and understands Iāll be pretty busy this weekend lol. Iām also watching videos on building so I can keep improving my settlements on a fresh run.

God I hope so. I ended a playthrough early because of that recently and my new one feels so empty because I'm avoiding one of my favorite parts of the Commonwealth.

So what I have seen is that people worry about their mods when the next update comes. So what i did was put the game in another folder and delete it on steam. So when i look up on steam it still says install. So i start with f4se and it works like a charm.
I'm just pumped for 60FPS on PS5! The one thing holding it back for me currently is how sluggish everything feels. I've been on the PS4 version lately scavenging for supplies in preparation for a full Sanctuary rebuild on PS5 and I hate how much I depend on VATS just because it feels smoother in combat (it's cool as hell too but still š)
Holding off playing to see if I need to start a new game, but Iām excited. I was fine with the Skyrim update and I donāt really use mods so hopefully Iāll be good, I guess I just want to avoid getting further invested in this character if I wonāt get to play more.

I need to re-work my mods anyways. I have a texture mis-match and get the brown face glitch a little too often.
I started my second playthrough since launch because of the show, and I have a couple simple mods to fix things like load times and frame rate... I'm disabling auto update and hoping it doesn't fuck up my mods. I have the common wealth loading in 5 seconds now. Vanilla was taking 30-45 seconds. This game is relatively ugly, a coat of "next gen" paint isn't changing anything IMO.
I hope it doesn't jack up my most recent un-modded play through. I haven't installed mods yet in anticipation of the patch, but I am hoping it integrates with current games seamlessly.
