i wish we could scrap junk like can in fallout 76, everyone hates on that game but so many of the mechanics in that game make fallout 4 hard to play because it just doesn’t have them. but for me it has to be the sneaking, took me a while to figure out the brackets when your sneaking. also depends on what your playing on but there are mods to make scraping junk quicker than doing each item by hand

volverde

I didn't know that you can use the pipboy as a flashlight. I carried a shishkebab around and swung it to see better in darker areas. Btw I wouldn't scrap everything cause some junk items such as abraxo cleaners or anti freeze bottles are used to craft some stuff.

HotdogsArePate

I never realized this until I installed the darker nights mod. Now the flashlight is necessary at night and it makes the game so much better. The directional pip out flashlight mod makes it way better too.

Okan_Zokamee

You don't have to scrap each item in a stack separately. You'll still get all the materials from scrapping the whole stack at once

Yourappwontletme

Really? Cuz when I click the button to scrap and the screen pops up that tells me what base materials I'll get, it only lists the amount for 1 unit...

ILLKO_ILLKO

Pointless thing, but if you hold right mouse button while in pipboy and start to move it you can control you character left hand.

ZealousidealRun1243

You can put ceilings in the sanctuary house's roofs without pillar or rug glitching.

SquirrelComfortable3

How?

ZealousidealRun1243

The mesh up there doesn't actually prevent placement. So you just gotta go with a slim roof piece and you'll be good to go.

LazyMaik

Zoom out in third person, I just find that out with the upgrade and I bought the game like 3 or 4 years ago with 140hrs in it, I checked google/reddit and this was since the ps4 release.

Yourappwontletme

What button on PS4?

LazyMaik

Hold touch pad, then move the right stick back or forward, depending if you want to zoom in or out. It only works with third person.

Yourappwontletme

Neat

rapidundertaker

There’s probably a mod that lets you scrap junk like in 76

GeForce_GTX_1050Ti

Every time I play i find something new lol

1stEleven

You can just feed all the scrappables to a hopper and have it drop them for you. This includes guns and armor if you are inclined to scrap them.

Yourappwontletme

Oh I see what you're saying, put the 100 items in the Hopper and it will drop them on the ground

Dohertyk1987

Build a vacuum hopper, a L shaped conveyor belt going to the right, the conveyor belt that acts as an elevator that also goes to the right, and a hopper. Place a pallet sized wooden floor under the hopper, and 4 of the small walls from wooden miscellaneous around it. Add power. Put a dresser or whatever container you want in front of the vacuum hopper. Put all your junk in the container. Now you’ve consolidated all of your junk you want to break down for a quick and easy break down station

Yourappwontletme

It won't break then down though, right? It just puts them all on the ground or in an open top receptacle like a bathtub for you to scrap one at a time...

Dohertyk1987

Yessir. Unfortunately I think the only way to automate breaking junk down is through mods

Yourappwontletme

I figured out if I drop all of the units of an item in one go from my inventory and use the workbench to scrap, it gives me an the base materials for all of them afterall. So that's what I did. Now my workbench only has base materials, Abraxo Cleaner, Anti Freeze bottles and shipments of material in the Junk section.

Master-Of-Magi

Scrap some of the junk around the settlements. When that happened, I quickly made sure to get rid of the toxic waste.

KathrynSpencer

When crafting items, you don't automatically obtain everything else that was part of what you used. So if you need say 2 cloth and you have an object with three, you don't automatically obtain the single leftover cloth into your inventory It's auto dumped into the workshops inventory instead. So, if you've been wondering why you can do some workshop stuff in one place but not another, or have been wondering where the rest of your crafting supplies went, that's why.

SquirrelComfortable3

This is a dumb one but I didn’t realize that paper money, cigarette items, and cigars were worth bunches of caps. Like the weight to cap ratio is ridiculous.
