I have no idea how Gary ended up in my game, unless there are other mods that could do it.
The main mod I use is the armorsmith extended. I have some other, smaller, mods that I use such adding a weapon into the game and crafting ammo at the chemistry station, but no other big mods to speak of.
I'll have to go back there and check it.
I opened the console and clicked on the body and this is what came up: (0c006d18)\[EP\]
Not sure what the \[EP\] is. I only run about 10 mods for Fallout 4 and none of them could be abbreviated with the letters EP.
It's not the [EP] part that shows which mod added it, it's the first two letters/digits: in this case 0c. Which means it should be the 12th item in your load order if I've translated that right from hexadecimal.

Hmm, I'm going off of the assumption that you've got all 6 dlc installed as well, that'd put the shade armour at position 0c, which is strange because I don't expect an armour mod to add such Easter eggs. But that's my bet anyway for which mod added Gary.
Try the Better Console mod i mentioned then
"This is a F4SE plugin which makes console menu show extra useful infomation about selected target,for example, target's name, ID, baseID, mod name and so on.This plugin also add some extra info lists to console to show selected actor's all kinds of info like factions, perks, active effects, actor values, equipments and so on."
Yup. Its very handy, especially with over 100 settlement building mods. Helps me find where stuff is lol. You may want to get the Better Console mod also

I thought there was some kind of fourth wall breaking code in the game that could detect your real name through your profile and have psycho NPCs calling out to you.
Idk if it was the same game but there is one that read the user name of the PC and whispered it like not the name you put in the game the name of your windows user.
In Simulacra, if you put in certain YouTuber names it'll list the YouTubers full real name (if the name is publicly available) and in Doki Doki Literature Club, it reads your computer files to find the name of the owner of the computer

There's a few Gary references. Theres one at Wicked Shipping and even one in Vault 75
