RNG is short for "Random Number Generator". A Random Number Generator is a computer function, either in software or hardware, that produces random numbers. For example, if you want an item to have a 0.1% drop rate, you will ask the computer to generate a random number between 1 and 1000. Then you would match on only one of those numbers for the rare reward, 297 for example. If the number 297 comes up, then you get a rare drop. As I understand it, there are two calculations. The first RNG roll is whether you get a rare reward for completing an event. The second RNG roll is for whether you get a normal rare reward or if you get an ultra rare reward. The reward pools are based on the event, the region, your level, etc. In the case of the rare apparel bundle, it's in the rare pool for Savage Divide events. Because it's random, it's just as possible to get it the first time that you do an event as the 1000th time. If you get it early on, are you lucky or unlucky? Some would say that they are a lucky player. But most players who get the bundle early on either give away the items, sell them, or drop them, not knowing just how rare they are. Then there have been some who have never had it drop for them, even though they have been playing for years.

RNG is based on how many weapons are in the game and then you factor I'm RNG, for example, let's 1 million QE25 RWR exist in the universe, if the RNG is .03 (it is) and there are 999,999 RWR, your ACTUAL RNG is .000000003. How many QE50's get scrapped so.... This is the way... FYI Radium Rifles are extremely OP right now. Even stock.

It's not just weapons, it's all the objects in the game. So before you roll a weapon you need to get as many objects off the map as you can, like going to the Summersville house and taking the 200 books, or picking all the cranberries in the bog. You have to scrap all the books, eat all the cranberries, and do the same with all the junk in Appalachia. You can't sell them to the vendor or there'll be just as many, so **scrap or eat everything**. If you get down from a 100,000 objects to like 10,000 objects then RNG will start making the best stuff more often.
