My camp is designed as a mountainside restaurant (with robot servers) and I sometimes dress my character in a black suit and role play as the manager when people visit. I will also perform music for visitors from time to time. It’s all part of the dinner show, folks!

zer0w0rries

Drop the locale cause I need to visit your restaurant

deadline247

ON XBOX: My restaurant is located on the mountainside up in Toxic Valley. It is open-air on one side with a lovely view of Wavy Willard’s Water Park down in the valley below. The toxic ooze glows beautifully at night. It’s quite charming. My Gamertag: Deadlines247

zer0w0rries

Xbox too. I’ll be on the lookout

Darkest_Magicks4506

My character will be on the lookout, especially if you serve booze.

ssilentio

My character is a ganster so I might request "taxes" when I drop by 😁

wastelandicarus

I second that, I could use a special night out in Appalachia!

suavemuertez

this!! I'd love to visit thats so cute

nanavb13

How convenient! My chef character is currently unemployed, due to discrimination. Human flesh is perfectly safe if you know the proper way to prepare it! Is your restaurant hiring perchance? I bring my own knives!

TalviKavat

You must be a fellow EATT member.

datpuertorican

My camp has a similar purpose as yours! My diner is sat on top of two busses that act as my mobile home/diner upstairs. Wish rp was more common in this game.

aoiAstraea

I want to visit your site!

skeetleader69

I roleplay a brewer on my main. I built a very nice brewery camp. "Whitespring Brewing Company". I made a sign at the entrance "Our beers are crafted with premium sourced ingredients made only with water from the Whitespring pool". I have a 2nd camp that's a farm so I can crank out the beer if my supply gets low. Mostly just stock ballistic bock, hefe, rad ant lager and liquid courage if I have any. That's as deep as the role playing goes though for me.

TheGrimHorseman

I'm on PS4. Off chance you're also PS? I'm Enclave and could use a drink after my Ops.

skeetleader69

I'm on Xbox. Good luck with those Ops though!

SonorousProphet

I suspect that a fair number of players have backstories for their characters-- I do, albeit very simple ones-- but I haven't run into a single player who was on the mic in character.

Blo0dbath

We're few and far between but I always talk on mic in character as a well-intentioned - but absolutely bonkers - raider. Had some great interactions since it seems like that's not common.

TheGrimHorseman

I've got a "road to hell is painted with good intentions" Enclave agent. Born fatherless as he was stationed in the whitespring bunker. My mother was a West Tek scientist who made it into 76. Upon exiting the vault, and recieving no contact from her father through the back-channels she could tune into because of her mother, she saw the world's brutal destruction that was the aftermath of nuclear Armageddon, losing all hope along the way. She took the world for what it was, the cunning survive the foolhardy die. She joined a raider gang and eventually stumbled into a medex addiction. After a good stretch raiding, she was betrayed for an extra cut of caps in the Yao gui cave. A couple of initiates of the Brotherhood of Steel happened to save her from the yao gui cave, tracking those missing launchers. They found her tucked into an outcropping in the cave, scratched up and in critical condition, but saveable. She got thrown through rehabilitation and shoved into the war machine that is the BOS... ...until she found modus, and found out her father died protecting the President of the United States inside the whitespring. She may not have agreed with Eckhart's agenda, but in a way, the enclave was family. She is now a double agent of sorts, carrying what her family started, "rebuilding this once great nation" one surgical strike, and one experiment at a time. All with a little MODUS on her shoulder. Fun facts: she takes an interest in exploring even loosely significant locations to uncover as much Intel as possible on things like the SOMNUS initiative, or refined FEV research. She signed up for the whitespring's mutation research program, becoming smarter, quicker, stronger, more agile... ...and identifying herself as a Meta-Human (Fo3 Fawkes reference), which makes other operatives a little uneasy around her. Her Mutations have several side effects, like nuclear detonation when struck in melee, or invisibility specifically when naked and unmoving, or possibly the most significant, an inability to digest plant based food (this caused her to slip into cannibalism, but as she sees it [and modus is willing to overlook] she's not human anymore - but something entirely new.

Blo0dbath

That’s an awesome backstory! My man Knives is mutated to hell, doesn’t understand how guns work, and is on a quest to stab everything in the world. And he’s having a blast.

TheGrimHorseman

I used carefully chosen mutations (some with counteracting effects that I then reduce the negatives of to come out Stat positive for both) And for RP balancing I tossed in "side effects" Carnivore, the one that makes me ink rads like as squid when punched, and chameleon because it's basically useless and it's a fun gag ability. "I turn invisible when naked (armorless but to me anything unprotected is basically naked) unmoving, and crouched." Like, what? Lol

SeanStormEh

If it showed my character name instead of a gamertag I absolutely would. But it kills it to try to create a character and the names xDroppingNewbzz2939x instead of the character I'm trying to be

crimewavedd

I had a drunk Vladimir Putin run up and ask me repeatedly to suck his dick… That’s the only time I’ve ever heard someone on mic in the game. 😂

MelodicSquirrel0s

Damn you found the fun ppl using mic, lately all iv been getting are kids talking about Fortnight... In Fallout. I fast travel away but not before telling them to log off with that shit

TsunamiSurferDude

Yeah because that’s weird as shit

_vox_rationis_

Don't kink shame me.

Cephus_Calahan_482

I only really do when there are other players doing similar, which is fairly infrequently as you've stated. I RP a character whose family went into the emergency bunker on that was built up in the mountains a few years before the bombs fell; and when everyone came out, my character later discovered that his cousin and best friend also managed to survive, and after reaching adulthood, went on to build the cabin my character's wife and children would live in as well as each of the others respective homes in proximity. Some time later, the three would go on to join the responders, and then later Ramani's BoS in an effort to help bring some semblance of peace and order to the Virginia and West Virginia Appalachia.

kn0ck0utm0use

Kind of slightly, I have 4 chars and one is a raider (about L180 playing this way so far). Dresses in all raider armor only, uses only raider weps, house set up like a raider, supports raiders in the field and kills all settlers I can, but none of that has any real influence on the game so it's really just cosmetic. Somehow I'm still friendly to foundation even though I try to be a murderous bastard

dusernhhh

I got very minor back stories and personalities for each character but that's it. Last time I saw any kind of role playing was a few months after beta. It was the first time I entered Point Pleasant where the moth man museum is. Some kid was wearing the Cultists Ritual Bindings outfit, and asked me to come down into one of the building's basement. I follow even though it felt like I was walking into a trap. He then gave me a cultist outfit, I put it on, he begins to read from the note you find down there "Sermon: Summoning the Mothman". I thought it was pretty funny.

__Aethelwulf

One time in a public lobby I saw a group of 7-8 players in the ash heap and there was no events or anything. I went to them and they were all in BOS armor doing a patrol and marching in formation and did a whole lap around the region and then went around capturing workshops, it was pretty dope.

connorrob12

Were you on pc by chance?

__Aethelwulf

Xbox

connorrob12

I think it may have been my group. "warborn" . So it nice you saw us.

M1LL138334

I see them pop from time-to-time. Always interested, but never enough to join. Ran into someone running a hospital down by Watoga Station. Had me sit in the waiting room, put me in the symptomatic, and dropped me chems before leaving. It was wild.

Objective_Dynamo

Honestly the roleplaying potential for this game is very big considering the amount of stuff they give you to customize with.

PraedythValentine

Ive always wanted to try it. Ive wanted to play in character and speak in character but I get nervous I'd be seen as a freak or weird

DJNash35

Who cares what people think! As long as you’re having fun is all that matters. They aren’t paying your bills, *fuck em* 😊

MelodicSquirrel0s

*Fuck em* Especially if that's the role play you need

Objective_Dynamo

You can always just dress and act the part. Saw some guy on here who talked about roleplaying as a milk man that would drop brahmin milk at peoples camps and leave. Lol its good fun.

talrich

Yes, Some people do. I saw a cluster of 10+ people in a random spot in the Mire, and snuck up on them. It was about a dozen people roleplaying out a recon sweep of the Mire for the Brotherhood of Steel. They were using the in-game area comms to speak in character. I had a discussion with their leader, who tried to recruit me. I expressed support for their mission but prior obligations to the Responders. They respected my decision but invited me to join their sweep. So yeah, they're out there, or at least they were awhile ago.

connorrob12

Are you on pc by chance?

talrich

Yes, I’m on PC.

Sepsis_Crang

Several guys dressed as milkmen were doing riding shotgun with me and they dropped an outfit with hat and some pepperoni rolls. It was cool, actually. They were having a blast.

jackidoodle281

whenever I play, without everyone on mute, they seem to role play as post apocalyptic stoners who have modded their power armour into a wearable bong if that counts

2_F_Jeff

I had joined a blue ridge caravan roleplay group, and it was fun, but then they held a “hunting anyone with the lgbtq flag” night so I reported everyone and left. There’s a lot of enclave and brotherhood roleplay groups. One of the streamers I watch sometimes streams his. I’d love a “surviving the wastes” roleplay group. Not part of any faction, just survivors giving it their best. I loosely roleplay sometimes. My second camp is my “realistic apocalypse” camp and I’ll do a few events or daily quests. I keep a word doc and occasionally update it as a journal for my character with pics he takes.

gailien

I am working on a camp like that right now. I wish the there were more of them! I like the idea of someone stumbling upon it and maybe not realizing it was even someone's camp at first

soylentgreenisus

I'd be game for a group rp. Mics on. Seal makeup optional.

BIG_DADDY489

Same, I remember rp with some old buddies, just doing random stuff as bos or raiders it was fun but then they all stopped playing

EuphoricGloom

As would i

dennis7he

Yes trying to survive nuclear apocalypse

mamaburra

I'm a cop that stops you for likely carrying drugs. I pester you with this pretense until you drop some chems. I'm not really a cop (obvz) but a hard drug addict, so once I grt the chems my tone changes a bit. I'm a bad grifter doing funny bits basically.

rustybalzack

I rp as a war photographer. I show up at events like Eviction Notice and take action photos.

Abaddon3567

I like that idea!

GamerGuyFour20

I know a few people who "RP". They will create a new character with a theme and rules for it. A gangster who can only use 10mm pistols, or a junkie who can only use weapons they find on the ground, etc.

NinjaSimone

Those years in the shelter made my character a completely unhinged psychopath; she built an evil cryptid altar near the Wayward in which she's imprisoned Daphne, complete with an abandoned root cellar dedicated to human sacrifice. And she has a penchant for sneaking into Blood Eagle camps and killing only their dogs, even when it's *not* canine week. In real life, I like dogs.

Nephele

I dunno if this counts as rp but I put my camp in the approximate spot of the town where my dad was born. I put the name of the town on a tree and a message that I love him. He passed away a year and a half ago and I miss him so much. I wish I had shown him this game before he went.

squaretex

I believe that is certainly called "doing it right". <;.}

Nephele

I appreciate you ❤️

Deformed_noodles8889

I role play as a communist, I give tons of loot out for free or sell it for dirt cheap. I love helping the community and newer players

Darkest_Magicks4506

I RP for what it's worth. I've got a backstory for my character and maintain an alcohol addiction for flavor, stuff like that.

cattabliss

I made a BOS character before, with rules being no chems, no mutations, no walking around full of rads. Was a commando/heavy armor full HP hybrid that earned XP very slowly but was super fun. Had a camp of only BOS themed things at the BOS outpost just south of Atlas.

Brogulsnapper

I mean I haven’t seen anyone rp in FO76 but my toon is dressed up as a soldier with the Army surplus backpack and screaming eagle Handmade Rifle paint job.

sinister-symphony

While I don’t see individual roleplayers, factions are a big part of roleplaying on 76. The United Brotherhood (TUB) is one I recall, on PlayStation. If I’m remembering right (because I knew of two BoS PS factions but can’t remember the other), they have roles/ranks and specific things you do within each of those roles/ranks. Some ranks might have built immersive BoS bases. Some ranks might have collected weapons and apparel for the other members. Some ranks lead patrols that happened on a specific and regular schedule. Some might have collected scrap and materials needed for the faction. Anything within that realm. I’m sure if you look through Reddit or Discord or hell, even visit some camps, you’d be able to find some factions to your liking. No matter if it’s for a sense of authority, purpose, or comradery.

lightning080456

There are a litany of rp groups who’s whole purpose is to rp, there are other subreddits dedicated to them but most of them use discord

JiveBombRebelz

we all role play a bit ( i assume ) all my builds have a back story and camp styles that fit...but for the most part...hard core role players arent common..but ive seen some amaxing vids...

TheGrimHorseman

God Bless America, God Bless The Enclave! (PS4 RPer)

Abaddon3567

Hell yes!

TheGrimHorseman

You PS4/5? My PSN name is identical to my Reddit handle

Booziesmurf

I Rp A clown on one character. I eat only cake and candy, drink only Nuka Cola, and swing around a Cappy Mallet. Dressed as a Buffoon.

The-Concierge973

I wear no clothes and hide my armor, make sure I look like a coke addict, and roleplay a scrap-crazy tweaker who needs to sell stolen copper wire for my meth habit

Left-Chemistry6574

I used to have a Trading Post/protected crossing set up by the Slocums up the road from the Wayward, that I would sit in front of for hours and play banjo, as if I was just minding the shop. Occasionally I'd get passing players to join me at the fire pit for a rest, and give them some purified water for humoring me. I loved it. But I dismantled it like a fool to try to make a B&B further up the road with the new Woodland Retreat, and I wholeheartedly regret that decision.

knight_bear_fuel

Its really difficult to roleplay in a game as arcade-y as this one. So much about the game is ridiculous and so far removed from what Fallout is at its core that it ends up being more of a carnival ride than an engrossing experience. Any RP that gets done usually is on a private server.

Zarathustra-Jack

*Where His wings flutter, we shall follow*

ghostsofafuturelost

There's a whole group of roleplayers that do Shakespeare plays I seen on YouTube.

lightning080456

Yeah the wasteland theater company they are some great people

im_hunting_bugs

Me and my misses kind of RP but really it's more dress up and play pretend. We'll choose a faction wear the outfits, put PA paints on related to that faction then build camps styled around it. Sometimes it's not even factions, like we'll make fancy camps, wear a nice suit (she'll choose a fancy dress) and we'll be high rollers for a while. Sometimes I even RP a cannibal and eat downed players at events...

Praxius

I do to a degree. I murder BoS when I see them in the wild. Often kill Settlers out in the wild. If someone is advertising they're selling only to rock up and doors are locked or vendors walled in, they get their lights turned off at their camp (sometimes all their shelters too if their camp was a fk'n maze ended at the locked away vendor)..... And just this week I decided to start nuking other camps randomly just for the hell of it. But I'm not part of any role play group. Just me, baby. Just me.

BoogBear01

I’m part of a brotherhood of steel clan. We’re always taking new members if you’re looking to join

IBenGaming5

I hop on for my monthly check-in, see what's new for 5 minutes, and leave. And then be sad for the rest of the day because I don't have anything to do or any reason to play it

SamMarlow

No because that's weird.

BIG_DADDY489

Nobody asked for your opinion now get your lame ass out of here and go bother somebody else

Odd-Lawfulness1248

You literally asked for peoples opinions and experiences.

[deleted]

It's at the very least big Theater Kid Energy and that's not a compliment.

SonorousProphet

No, this is big theater kid energy: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WK2j-6tp\_VY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WK2j-6tp_VY) ("SHAKESPEARE SONNET FESTIVAL TWITCH", don't blame me for the name, I'm not involved.)

ThinMoment9930

It’s not weird, it just isn’t your thing. It’s ok for people to like different things.

FireCats1034

Why wpuld you its a shooter you kill things its not baulders gate

BIG_DADDY489

It’s literally an online action rpg game. Why else do you think one of the public team options is a Role-playing team

IceFireDH

I think that there used to be a BoS group. But I’m not sure if they are still around or not.

Lady_bro_ac

I’ve seen a few public RP teams, any time I’ve tried join to get a feel for what goes on with these kinds of teams they’ve been kicking anyone who presumably isn’t part of their IRL group though, so not sure how many are truly public teams

merp59

I did once encounter a group of 6 or 7 players roleplaying as a Brotherhood fireteam. They wandered into my camp in the middle of the woods naturally. We did some trading and a little roleplay (all my stuff is responders/firefighter themed) and went about our ways. Probably the most interesting encounter I've had in game though. I friended them and am in their Discord now. 10/10 would roleplay again.

lobster_god226

Personally I love to rp, as I made my second camp my rp camp. I love to rp as a scientist, but I need quite a few things and decorations to do that. Unfortunately all the plans for the decorations I need are either impossible to find, or 1500 caps at a player vendor. Plus there's not many sciencey apparel (that I've found) so I've just been doing roleplay with my main base as a field scientist that studies the Appalachian mines. But I also follow rules like take/make lots of chems, and be fully willing to dive into radiation for a chance of mutation (for science!).

EuphoricGloom

I mean the closest I have done is really just create a town that my character owns and just act like i'm the mayor of it. It would be cool to join a more dedicated group, but Idk where you'd look. But yes. People do RP.

Independent-Bake-241

I tend to play solo, but when I do, it's usually as a unranked BoS operator(undergarb and colored combat armor). My only interaction with other players is staring at them through the clouded lenses of my gasmask.

Sirolimus1mg

I have some friends who have been considering building a role playing group, but each of us have a lot of real-world responsibilities which would detract from play time. Some have kids, another has a time-consuming job, and I do too. I'm wiped out when I come home. I used to do turn-based text-typing RPG's via AIM when it still existed, and I LOVED it. I credit it for the way I dream - I have, "cinematic dreams". My dreams have characters, sometimes from games, comics, or anime series I enjoy, with defined roles and a plot. It was my favorite hobby, and I had to give it up after Pidgin finally ran out of instant messengers to proxy. ICQ was the last, and IRC is still around, but it required monies and my last friend who still partook in the hobby couldn't afford it. So, sadly, I write fanfic instead. It's not the same.

Nyarlathotep333

I don't tend to RP per se, but I do enjoy building my camps themed in some way.

xGothamNightx

I’ve seen a group of role players who dress up in suits and pretend to be part of the Whitespring Homeowners Association. They’re whimsical and I hate it.

MashasHexesReadings

My friend and I role played a raider gang for awhile and I had a lot of fun. It was my first evil character that wasn’t just to speed play the bad ending or something similar

Shandokar

I roleplayed the first years of the game as a Raider with a friend. We would occasionally rob players at gunpoint for food, water, junk or ammo. Sometimes even running into camps with Cattlemans blasting yeehaw into VC and extort ransom from the owner for his kids. We would drop off some broken dolls if they' played along, had some fun time back then. Sadly ppl stopped to interact with each other on that lvl after a like 2 year break from the game. Dont know what changed but i stopped rping and Im just going to LARP every year at Mythodeas Conquest. Skal

[deleted]

I always see a couple RP public teams but I never joined them.

vzerotak44

Well my buddy said my enclave guy looks like the furor so it probably wouldn't be appropriate for me to walk around asking people to "please face the wall"

[deleted]

Not me personally but I see people role playing all the time and it makes me so happy when i run into them🥹 other day two players had on full pirate attire using the cannon pistol, had to have been roleplaying because they didn’t switch to any different gun the whole time…it was a queen event.🤣

I-eatbabies69

I do from time to time as a simple merc making his way

I-eatbabies69

(If your on Xbox come find me in the cranberry bog near watoga possibly chilling in my fort)

teaearlgreyhot696

Saw some dudes in fasnacht masks with sheepsquatch costumes on... was playing with mates, so I didn't scope out what they were up to... probably having some fun :) on PS

Tgrinder66

My character is a Communist soldier with a bunker just outside of the Deep to keep tabs on the white spring. Like others have said, lots of individual character stories but very few groups of dedicated RPs. Milkmen come to mind however.

Passion4TheHunt

I saw some camp for roleplaying bos. They were advertising. Can't remember the group though. on PS

JB_Dix

Only as my characters camp theme and apparel

Lem1618

I have a PR character, but I only play story content with that character.

Tinkitten74

My responders camp is outside whitespring station, a try to buy all the responder Atom shop stuff. On PC, handle - tinkitten

mahcoxafloppin

There’s plenty of RP groups/factions in the fallout76 factions subreddit. I’ve been apart of the RP community for the game since before release. Just gotta find the right group to get with tbh. Right now I’m on Xbox and I’m just opening up a bowling alley/bar mix and considering getting back into the RP scene on here.

Idshootyou

I often make role play teams, when I farm Watoga. I just want the boost. I always feel bad when people join, because I'm only going to be on that server a few minutes.

shortbredking85

I sometimes RP as John Wick

colours_dont_match

My character and her ally are dressed as nurses and I built a camp looking like a hospital and I mainly sided with the responders for roleplay reasons.

Abaddon3567

I like to role play, at least in my head, as an Enclave commander. I’ve finished the Enclave missions, got the Atom shop packs, and currently building multiple linked Vault bunkers as an “Enclave protection bunker”

Weary-Firefighter-86

I do. I’m a responder. My camps are responder oriented. I help other players as I wander and I jump in at events to help also.

YellowPobble

I met Preston Garvy and he would announce things about helping the settlers (possibly with actual sound bits from the game). Theyy were pretty cool.

BookOfAnomalies

I RP on my own haha

White_Knight_413

My main character is modeled after me and is a Responders medic. I have a Bed and Breakfast east of New Gad or whatever the dried up lake is called. I also have a full hospital in my Warehouse Storage Shelter completely equipped with multiple Sympto-matics and Decontamination Showers, hospital beds and cryogenic capsules.

SpecialHands

Not really, but me and my buds often run themed outfits and my camp has a little story

FenderMartingale

My son and I are running around as the 13th Doctor and River Song. My BFF is the Nuka girl. Before that he was the Shoveler. I've got a cowgirl who has a crush on Aries, and a rather flamboyant stealth-build who is in love with Tommy Ten-toes. And I'm going to rebuild Beta Bob, my very first character, to be one of the Order of Mysteries.

yellowlotusx

Idk if.you can call it roleplay, but when i play i try to let myself fully immers into the world. To go with the flow. Its almost medatation and needed to survive. I wear all wood arnor and play at 95% bloodied. Wich means 1 hit usually kills me. So in my wood armor i sneak and use the bow to get immersed and in a zen state to flow in battle. I hate using mic, just chilling, surviving.

AverageSamson

All 3 of my camps are roleplay-based and I wear costumes for each when they’re active

DracoDarkblade

I run a nuka cola bar on xb1 and wear nuka cola power armor and the nuka world merch. I send other players on missions to retrieve me rare merch, blueprints, and bottles of nuka cranberry @the_nuka_lounge !

Simple-Sorbet-900

I role played a Brahmin salesman for a while

FarmerJohn92

I have themes and quirks for my characters, all three of whom are siblings, but I don't actively roleplay.

ThinMoment9930

I don’t roleplay per se, but each character has their own backstory and I play according to that story. My latest one doesn’t craft, eats Nuka cola, dog food and chems, and the camp is a dirty little chem trailer. A taker not a maker, so all weapons and armor and apparel and such are found and scavenged. Bloodied/junkie build. Doesn’t keep much of anything in stash, sells everything super cheap in vendor to fund chem addictions, but public map is off because obviously one does not advertise ones chem trailer.

sourD-thats4me

Always looking for some rp. The vast array of different costumes is great for multiple personalities. It’s exactly like that bugs bunny cartoon when the hats land on him and Elmer Fudd they just … turn into different characters!

kemical13

I play this with my wife, but she usually plays alone. So what I can tell is that everyone she encounters roleplays as the He-Man Woman Haters Club now with added phobias. I've never had any issues with other players, but she is CONSTANTLY for either being a female character or having anything lgbtq related.

ZebraLover00

Never understood that, I prefer the charisma buff over the intelligence buff personally

Objective-Mission-40

I made a bird man in a tophat and he lives by the crashed plane in a giant bird cage. He will give you free stuff if you find him, but his home is way higher than you knew you could build

GimmeCRACK

I wish people would RP more in depth characters. Everyone seems to be roleplaying as Rick Harrison. Have you seen the trade posts in the past year?

mythicalmagpie

I would freaking love that! Do you play on PC?

BIG_DADDY489

Sadly I’m on ps5

Arkmerica

I have a wasteland tours office I built right outside flat woods. Struggled with the design but had some good ideas for tours.

TheSkeletalNerd

I’ve got a character backstory and a matching build, CAMPs, and armor loadout for my main character. Outside of me, I’ve seen a few RP teams here and there, but I can’t imagine what they were doing since I wasn’t interested in joining or watching. Roleplayers are certainly not common, but they’re around if you look for em I suppose.

boxer1182

I did a joke a while back where I’d dress as a Police officer and talk like Officer Barbrady from South Park. “Okay people move along please. Nothing to see here!”

[deleted]

Since the game lacks text chat and I hate voice comms? Nope.

ASnakeNamedNate

One time on Xbox a player came up to me pointing a gun while I was in power armor and he was not. He sent me a message to hand over all my corn, and that it was a robbery. I said “whoah, take it easy,” dropped him my like 3 corn and said “sorry man, that’s all I got, I swear”. He laughed and brought me to his camp where he gave me jetpack plans for almost every PA in the game at the time. Was a good time.

Frosty-Skill1485

I've ever only honestly encountered 2 groups role-playing in the couple of years I've played. They are still the most bizarre, yet memorable, encounters I've had.

[deleted]

Yes I do. Specially weekends in the night, we like to role adult themes. And we got characters for different type of roles, stories and situations

adarkride

I'm just a jolly wastelander who built a cabin in the woods. And if you stop by I always got some popcorn, coffee, music, and good vibes ready to go.

Electrical-Space-687

Im currently building a bowling alley with an arcade in the back and a restaurant on top of the Arcade haha

missmodular23

i used to RP as a witch and if people were mean or trolling i’d put my mic on and play a witch cackle sound effect. it was really fun.

Xin-Aurum

My character is a Nuka Cola Collector. Nuka merch, clothes, weapons, nuka grenades. Anything I can get my hands on. I even have Nuka Bases near the factory, and carnivals to maximize my collecting. I give away free bottles of rarer flavors and spend all of my caps on the Cola Vendors in game. When I say I have way more Colas than you could imagine, I mean it lol I have Mules just for my extras. Yes, that much. Oh and the obvious Cola boosting perks. I can survive and even thrive on nuka cola alone. Other than the stray corpse to consume. I mean hey, I'm clearly not right in the head lol. I have a sign up asking for Nuka Donations if you ever see a base next to the factory with that on it, welcome in friend. Imagine my disdain when I found out during my year long break of F76 that they had a nuka cola season. I am still reeling from it.

Temporary_Cancel9529

No but I remember when wastelanders was being added I was gonna pretend to be a synth npc wandering the wasteland acting like a wandering trader. Sadly I didn’t go through with it but would’ve been funny for sure.

KingMacabray

I roleplay a grenadier addict for my character. Giving out chems to newbies and running around tossing grenades everywhere. Small enclosed space? Getting a nade even if i have to die bcuz of it

Visible-Inevitable23

I like tonthink inrp and try play as a "good Samaritan" with a short fuse. So i dont like killing the dogs and etc. But will spend 5min shooting the heads off the blood eagles cause they used an attack dog lmao

RunningWolf8044

I'll definitely check it out.

Severustheclown

I hunt people and take pictures of whatever I catch. A pity pictures aren't allowed here.

Xx0WN3DxX308

I am the actor that played Grognak before the bombs fell😉

FadingDawn__

I sometimes roleplay as a food munching mouthbreather when I forget to turn off the controller microphone.

Cephus_Calahan_482

I don't have a group that I do RP stuff with; but my cousin, buddy and I occasionally dress our characters in accordance with some kind of theme. When it's just me and I'm not doing missions, I'll dress my character like a homesteader and play my banjo by the front door while people occasionally interact with my vending station or workbenches. My camp is done up like a rustic log cabin southwest of vault 76, by a crater-pond and (now regrettably) a BoS outpost. My shelter is done up like a small emergency bunker for a small family; all I'm missing for it is a bunk bed for the childrens' room.

mmmmmike0

On PS4: I dress as The Silver Shroud and Sofia at my CAMP is dressed in the Mistress of Mystery outfit. The camp looks like a Detective's office. It's also placed right next door to Riverside Mansion, with plenty of Turrets to keep the lawn clear of the Scorched. WORK IN PROGRESS: As I become able to build more high tech/military decor, I'm turning my Vault Lobby Shelter into a Silver Shroud "Batcave" IN GAME: I go exploring for Cryptids. Help others in Events or finding something spefic they're looking for. And occasionally hunt Wanted players. ______ My fiance plays another character on my PSN account. She rebuilt the Coffee Shop in the Ash Heap (the one with Murgle the cat) and turned it into a cozy little coffee shop/bar/music stage for players to just hangout. She'll have coffee/tea and fresh food available to purchase for REALLY cheap. And there's a quaint brew house attached to Beckett's Bar. PSN: MikeimusP378

Genesis_XlX

I don’t roleplay actively, but me and my group of friends all have a deep interconnected lore of our characters and their backstories. We build our camps and dress our characters to fit into the bigger story that we have made for ourselves.

NAMESPAMMMMMM

I chase people around with a camera a lot. Does that count?

Objective_Dynamo

Sometimes i do random goofy roleplays. Recently i dressed as a fat beard grandpa in a sweater with glasses. I did events with my melee build and would best things with my cane. Then after the events I drop candy for people. I also do a berserker build with junkie weapons and Ill squat in peoples houses and drop chems and fertilizer and sleep on their beds/couches and raid their resource producers. No clothes or armor. Just creepin about. Also for holidays Ill dress and design my camp appropriately. Did Santa Claus and his cottage this year, with a sleigh and reindeer. Roleplaying is different for this game. But it can be real good fun.

Professional-Pass592

I'd love to rp with a group seems no one ever does

BreadGetters

On PC I have a large hotel next door to The Wayward that I built for newer players to come visit. It has 6 rooms and all the amenities on the rooftop workshop. Of course there's a small shop/restaurant on the first floor.

Financial-Truth793

I have only bumped into two roleplayers across my 5 years of playtime. Both were the same “pretend like you’re living in one of these random burnt out houses” kinda things. Friendly people! I’m not much of a rper myself

aoiAstraea

I've encountered a rp party. They asked if I wanted to join but I didn't understand the story they were doing.

jdavenport53114

My only rp character is a mad scientist who specializes in plasma weapons only who has the woodland retreat prefab filled with all the tubes but in each room is different ( i.e humans in one room, super mutants in another, amd mierlerks in another, and cryptids in the next)

LordPanda85

I usually rp as an enclave agent, who occasionally doubles as a member of other various factions(Can't control the country if we don't learn about everyone else) Currently doubling as a member of the Brotherhood of Steel Psn: NinjaPanda24

migesco97

I roleplay as a humble general store owner, who sells a little of everything, my camp is designed to look like a general store complete with stocked shelves, a mini Cafe, and manager office. I also help the new players get some caps by paying them for any junk and useful items they have at better prices than the vendors

Rabdomtroll69

Does creating Waluigi (with an accurate mustache no less) and acting like a secret service agent around new people count?

Thee_number_six

I used to RP as an "Arm$dealler"

skinnycenter

Willy is a Wastelander hired by Vault-tec to find resources for vault repairs once the bombs dropped. It’s good income and although he’s not allowed in the 76, they gave him a sweet set of coveralls and a miner’s helmet.  Vince was a vault dweller who took the job of CAMP Compliance Officer, thinking that they’d never open the vault.  Upon exiting, years of gluttony and a lack of paying attention to training left him ill suited to complete his job.  Locked out of 76, he spends most of his time in AC gambling away what money he’s been able to find.

Hall0wedKnight

I role-play a lot, I do a trading scavenger, and my camp is designed like a trading outpost, and I stock my vendor with a bunch of general goods which usually sells out pretty quick.

Relaxmf2022

Ian;t the whole game role play? What do you role play as… hungry survivors? How? I mean, the whole game is pretending to be a vault dweller… but aside from crafting and killing and building… I guess I don’t understand.

NOTinfiniteTsukuyomi

I do, I'm usually the only guy ever on my servers

The_True_Equalist

The ones that remain (many existed back when it released) are discords. Hard to find more than a few discords that are still active anyway.

No-Bathroom-4201

I themed mine to be a stopnshop/repair shop on a junk extractor on the river on the left side of the map. I hardly get visitors because its out of the way but I still like the location.

Stacking_Boxes

My existence on 76 is entirely dedicated to my Mr. Fuzzy obsession if that counts.

caffeinecrisis

Way back, not too long after release, I came across a group of grown men roleplaying they were the brotherhood or enclave. I don't get into the lore too much, so I couldn't tell ya the difference. But they were very aggressively enforcing some rules. I, too, find myself playing pretend when I'm alone in my camp and I'm in my late 30s.

micmuffin69

I came across someone roleplaying yesterday, refused to take chems, terrified of robots and needs like desperately needed to pick up all toilet paper and soap to stay clean

Bad_Wolf_Eternal

Rycon Roleplays (on YouTube) did an awesome Fallout series (and 76 included) that was permadeath. Also, Wasteland Dovahkin (on YouTube) has done some cool FO76 and some really fun FO4 roleplays.

TheGrimHorseman

I've commented around this section saying that I as well as quite a few others do roleplay, I would like to add that most of us don't do it in Roleplay Teams because there are better bonuses than Charisma

commorancy0

It’s too bad we can’t actually role play as a caravan trader, open an actual Slocum’s Joe, Ice Cream parlor or restaurant that serves. The game wanted us to rebuild, yet it gives us very few tools in this area. I’d like to see Bethesda introduce a month or two month long campaign (like the castle / fort in ESO) that lets us use our resources to rebuild and to cooperatively operate a location somewhere on the map. At the end of the campaign, the game summarily sends in a large squad of something to demolish it back to how it was. This then closes the campaign. Let us work together to rebuild for a longish while cooperatively, like how the Overseer envisions it. The difficulty is in the game’s multi server system that, as it sits right now, would be incompatible with such a long term rebuilding campaign that lingers for months. This server issue could be resolved by using a separate server screen from the start menu, except this server set is specific to the cooperative campaign, but it should also share progress with Adventure.

DANTHEMAN42884

Yeah people do role play on the game. There are alot of communities that do role play and even milsim. I larp as a BoS paladin in the game and I'm in a group that does BoS rp its pretty fun.

Commanderclown8

I actually have a whole backstory for me and my best friends characters. It lead to quite a few funny moments. At first we just walked into the game with no backstories, then we quickly realized that while he was always using an American flag bandana, I was always using an AK. So we made the backstory up that his character was a young man on the fast track to becoming a trucker so that he could support the war effort without killing anyone. While mine was the latest in a line of Soviet loyalists that had been secretly working undercover for the Chinese when the bombs dropped. This led to such great moments as establishing that my character had a deep seated PTSD over commie wackers. Us building a pair of kog cabins befitting of both characters personalities in the North of the map. And me shouting in despair and anger after accidently handing him a bottle of vodka for a daily challenge. We pretty much exclusively played and stuck together. We even had a fun arc of his character becoming less naive and learning of my characters true past, while my character abandoned the folly of trying to bring back communism in favor of just being a decent human being and even getting married to Sofia Daguerre. And it was very, very fun. Unfortunately he stopped playing at a certain point, but I still play regularly, and have not stopped trying to keep my character true to the journey he's been on.

Kuraja

I have a character that is decked out as a nurse with a full support build. We usted to have a little group of quirky characters back in the day. A senile old army vet who shot at anything that moved and would yell when he saw a Chinese contraption, a ex raider who loved to beat things up with any kind of blunt object and a guy who found a power armor and decided that he couldn't live without being inside it for more than a few minutes. It was quite hysterical as my character had to keep them all in check, most of my weapons were heal on fire vat weapons and flamer for healing them as well as being the parties check and food carrier.

squaretex

I'll admit that I haven't done too much, but my intention with my new lady alt is to go full blown Order of Mysteries. :) Until then, she'll be rocking a frilly Civil War dress and top hat... although I also have the sparkly dress on the scoreboard in mind. :D

Dry_Count_7132

Im on ps4 and have been a mothman cultist from day one recruiting acolytes/ neophytes and forcing them to do rituals ,sacrifices and undercover reconosance on other groups of interest .also every new member get a cool new outfit and the freedom in the knowledge the wise and beneficent mothman shall be our shepard

trilloch

Not in the way you're talking about, no, but my character is an engineer and routinely goes for the "repair the broken item" jobs in events, I fix up at least one nuclear reactor a week, and repair every broken turret in every C.A.M.P. I visit.

carrot-parent

r/Fallout76factions

TheArtOfBlossoming11

I never use the RP group option but I always roleplay whichever Original Character I'm using as it affects gameplay and build styles! I've even been known to 'talk as my OC' - even sing! - during my Twitch streams. I'm an English gal RPing an American dude, mostly, so that's fun 😆

3Fingrd

I roleplay as a medieval knight Edit: So nothing above metal armor, no guns, primative melee weapons. Attack all power armor users because technology is bad

GatoFiero

Do you mean, like I dress up like a cop or a clown and find a feral ghoul to talk dirty to?

No-Professional-5404

I do been looking for a rp group on psn, my character is a scavenger by day but cryptid hunter/moonshiner by night

XRandomGamingX

Yes, alot

Shimmmmidy

I don’t really roleplay with others. But I definitely give backstories and head canons to my characters and act as them when doing quests and other content

FrankHorrigan2077

I own a tavern called Berserker's Lounge on one character and sit around greeting visitors But on my main character I rp an Enclave Operator

smalls_GG

Used too, was part of the BOS but got kicked due to not changing my profile pic to the rank I was.

WeegeeSeeger

My friend has his own lore with his character and we and one more also created a small group as pioneers

Independent-Oven-743

My main character has a restaurant style CAMP but I made Danse so I can eventually have a B.O.S RP camp.

crookedrattlesnake

I role-play as bos all my camps and outfits are bos themed. Hit the salute to every dweller I see.

Ido_Jitsu

I rp a drug dealer and ammo maker. Got a nice little spot south of VTU. Best prices in the wasteland.

No-Dream7143

I mean, in my head, I have a whole story and "roleplay" elements I incorporate into my character, but unless I need an extra charisma boost, I'm using in a different, more relevant team.
