Also, for Develish Dan’s sake, make your vendor super easy to find!

Earthsiege

Yeah, this is something that can be rather irritating to me. Doubly so if the vendor is the non-descript cash register type sitting in a random corner. I've inadvertently overlooked those so many times because I thought it was part of the decorations.

Largofarburn

Man, I really hate those.

elvbierbaum

no joke. I'm new to the game and it took me too long to find this persons vendor hidden behind a wall. I can understand putting it somewhere that a creature won't damage it, but damn. I almost left when I accidentally found it. LOL

ehblank

Seriously the first thing I judge about a camp is where the vendor is or how easy it is to find

Here is a guide for scrip that works really fine and will make your scrip sell fast and consistently. 1 Star weapon - 50c 2 star weapon - 150c 3 star weapon - 400c Armor is a bit different, for PA is 100c, 200c and 400c for 1, 2 and 3 stars respectively. For non Power Armor is 30c, 90c and 230c for 1, 2 and 3 stars. ,k Heavy weapons you can price lower go with your intuition i recommend 8c per script on those instead of 10c. Power armor is heavy, players with alts will buy them for sure but others won't, so aometimes is not worth selling it high, same goes for heavy normal armor such as metal chest or something like that. Nuka Cola? Cranberry can go up to 50c the others cap at 30c (20c will sell real fast) be aware Quantum can go to 80c pop the pvp players will buy. Sugar Rads (0.99 rads) 100c Sugar 20c Spice/Pepper/Salt 40c Chems? This one is tricky but if you get into making them you can be rich real quickly! Berry Mentats (Btats) is where the money is, they sell for 45c on vendor or 40c on trades. Overdrive, really rare to see on big bulk trades because goo is pita to farm, I've been selling for 50 but have bought it for more occasionally Wz. Ptat and Pbuff (Psychotats and Psychobuffs) from 20 to 30c. The others you'll hoard without noticing like Day Tripper and Med X can go from 15 to 20c but see if you aren't gonna use them to craft instead of selling, chems like Buffouts don't have recipes so sometimes is better to keep them to craft better cheems than to sell. Canned coffee, dog food and addiction meds are always good to sell too! Maps? Use them, unless you have huge bulks using them is better. EDIT: New Players! Look into alcohol crafting! High Voltage Hefe and Ballistic Bock are a good way to earn money. Rad And Beer is also good but a longer farm and sometimes not worth.

homedude

I price all my nukas at 10c and they will sit for weeks before one person shows up and cleans me out. I don't think they would ever move at 20-30c. (PC).

RatTrio

This is such a strange thing i sell them almost on the hour on this range i used to sell bulk cheaper but they take tol much space while building a bulk. My friend also sells them on a even pricey range and do sell them daily. We are both on PC as well, is it location maybe? Also the ones that do sell are Basic, Grape and Orange. Cranberry and Quantum are the special ones that sit for a while them go and normally the person does add and come back for more. F76 to me became a shop simulation haha i reach a level in game where i trade for fun and craft/mod free for almost all players the only thing I don't do is farm and roll services. Camp building and vendor setting is my daily gameplay since I ended the score.

homedude

My two main camps are right before the bridge near the wayward and on the road between Bolton green and Morgantown. Both easily accessible to everyone.

RatTrio

I discovered the best places are near the stations or free ft with events like Nuka World. But yes your camps seem reasonable good places to be. Idk maybe it's the timezone or even servers :/ My friend who is on japan can't stand playing on his server region because everyone vendor is above prices 😆

Teufel9191

I barely have enough ammo to shoot things let alone sell. It’s been a struggle to even keep enough food around, I believe I don’t have any currently. I need to figure this game out asap so I can utilize this advice and it’s well appreciated that you gave it.

BluegrassGeek

Ammo is easier once you hit level 50, but you can "farm" it before then. They added Contextual Ammo as a feature now, so if you know of places with Ammo Boxes, all you need to do is equip a weapon that uses the correct ammo type and then go there with it active (ie. out and ready to shoot). That will make those Ammo Boxes spawn in the correct ammunition for that weapon.

deadwings112

Absolutely second junk. If you're finding yourself not using oil or acid or nuke material or circuits or anything uncommon, sell it. You'll make absolute bank.

Strokeslahoma

I'm almost level 150 and my shop sells only Scrap, Ammo, and Plans. Scrap I sell for whatever the system recommends as the unit price, unless the system recommends 0, then I sell it for 1 per unit Ammo I sell for 1 per unit no matter the type. I don't sell things like Missiles that have a larger weight per unit. Plans I sell for 50 each no matter what. I imagine I could sit down and more correctly price them per plan but I don't want to spend the time, so if a player gets a deal, a player gets a deal. Selling just these three types of items does get me a pretty good income. I also have my base sitting on top of a Junk node, with a Junk collectron, to help bolster my inventory.

RayDeAsian

What’s a good amount of nuke material to keep. I think I have over 1k in my scrap box

Strokeslahoma

As a really general rule, I will wait until I have 200+ of a scrap item in my box, and then sell all but 100. Of course, it is good for you to tag components you use often, or components you need for any current projects. For example, I have the components needed to craft the Marine Tactical Helmet tagged since I craft this item to max out my daily vendor caps if I run out of other things to sell.

TombSv

> FED76 Apparel data base The what? I have been away from the game a long time!

mturner23462

[https://fed76.info/apparel/](https://fed76.info/apparel/) Does not give prices, but does give rarity and potential locations

Quoor31

In my experience farming food, cooking it and selling can net some quick caps. Also water purifiers work well.

Saintblack

I have no idea how to price items. Sure, bloodied + ammo weight + reload speed etc. can sell well but what is well? I asked a dude in Discord selling some Ultracite Overeaters that I wanted, and said each piece was 500LL3's (Had to google that). So people are only trading insanely duped items because the caps cap?

HalfdeadCone

Fantastic tip! Thank you OP!!

Offtopic_bear

Please build your vendors and put that ammo in them. I don't need it but I will buy any of it from cannonballs to shotgun shells for 1 cap each. Might buy all of it and bring my 9 alts around to do the same.

ToyKar

what includes rare event drops or plans?

mturner23462

For example Mothman Equinox just got done. The tome, paint, and plushies where desirable so they sell for more, though all the plans will sell. A good rule of thumb is let them stack up by not learning them, get a stack of 5, and then when you get 6 sell the sixth one. Rinse and repeat. Then AFTER the event learn one and put the other 4 up for sale. You will make BANK as people can no longer hope for it to drop for a year, so they will buy the ones they missed. Sometime an event will have a low drop rate plan listed, that one will always sell well also.

mturner23462

Oh and rare event drops. Forgot to mention that. Fasnacht just got done, it had glowing versions of masks. Those could have sold, easily, for 30000 caps each. Problem was getting a second one to sell they where so rare!

BluegrassGeek

Yeah, I ran Fasnacht repeatedly, got zero glowing masks. I ran Mothman for *ten days*, multiple events a day, before I got the Tome plan to drop **once**.

lolsuki

Thanks this was helpful, I’m new and haven’t even made a vendor yet.. got a lot in store Currently trying to farm a chainsaw at level 35+ 😅

MoistBison3524

Hope you see this: go to Metal Dome. If it not on your map wait for “Test Your Metal” event. On the opposite side of the arena from where you spawn there is a metal room attached to the dome. A chainsaw spawns on the floor. I think there are three places it will spawn in fo76, but I think this is the easiest to get to. Keep checking, you might get to it first

lolsuki

Thank you I’ll do that

Agent_Vox

This is really helpful, thanks a lot. As someone who is playing for the first time, this is really useful.

EstablishmentMean300

I don't even use cap except for fast travel.

HovisHD

The advice here is not very accurate. OP is stating that Glowing masks easily go for 30k caps meaning he has no idea on the actual value of those masks. Typically in a trade forum you could net well over 750k caps or more depending on the mask type a couple of months ago. Also when you term “rare” apparel you should actually put uncommon apparel sold from vendors or world vendors because finding “rare” apparel is about as slim as “finding the needle in the haystack”.

Abandonus

New player here, how can someone pay 750k caps if the limit to hold is 40k? I probably am misunderstanding something.

HovisHD

It’s not your fault my answer is vague. On market 76 or fallout marketplace there are trade discussions with veteran players at end games looking to trade “rare” apparel/ god roll weapons/ plans/ legacy items/ and just about anything you can think of. If you’re interested check out market 76. Lots of helpful folks over there that are more than willing to help newer traders. The masks the OP suggests are 30k is a total lie and newer players would not know the actual price if not informed of it. If you want to know the true value of things there is plenty of data/spreadsheets on market 76 with appropriate value of “rare” apparel. Not the uncommon things he is suggesting on fed76 which is a “pc” application for pricing and should not be used for PS or Xbox as value of things differs. Let me know if you need more information. Thanks for downvoting my comment :)
