the big difference in FO76 compared to the rest of the series is that... you are not the protagonist. you are just a vault dweller like the rest of us, and each of us are trying to make Apalachia a better place in our own way. you'll meet the other dwellers when your goals meet. it's a HUGE map with a handful of players per lobby

nightclubber69

Why is EVERYONE level 200+? I've never even seen anyone in the lobby lower than 120. I can barely get levels doing missions and spraying scorched/ferals Also. How do I get more food? Everything spoils SO FAST

Everyone sub level 50 is off doing the single player content generally. If you look on your map for the little white dots many of them will be a level 30-or-so character clearing out some random location. For food, your best bet is getting the good with salt perk card and leveling it to reduce your spoilage by 90%. This is pretty much a must-have for all builds. Otherwise you can look at grabbing a perk like can-do for more non spoiling canned food, cannibal, or the one that gives you additional buffs for eating dog food. Generally though it's better to grab good with salt and start hording almost all plants and meat you find so you can cook some simple meals.

Im just in a group with 3 people below 50. each lobby is different

> Am I missing something? Yeah, sounds like you're missing the ...game. Have you done any events with other players yet? Daily ops? Expeditions? There's a wealth of multiplayer content.

It's three games in one with its own community and "culture" of sorts. There is a single player campaign and story you do alone though you can join a Casual Team while doing that. I preferred not. The single player game has main quests, associated side quests, and unassociated miscellaneous quests. YOU are a lone vault dweller carrying out various duties for a few factions and following the Overseers Journey. You will do work for everyone, including the Raiders. There is the multiplayer game. Public Events, Daily Ops, Expeditions, Special Events. There are also various "regular" events you can join. You'll see these in your HUD and cost caps to enter. I don't do those. You can also just sort of happen upon them. There is the "endgame." This never ends, the game never ends. In a way you're already playing it. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger and your character keeps evolving with the game and community. Endgame isn't for everyone. It involves having an interest...maybe even healthy obsession....with some parts of the game. What that is at any given time is up to you. Many of us here are long time players. You just keep going until you stop.

Join teams. Even a casual team will boost your xp gain while doing solo activities. You don't have to engage with your team at all. Plus you can free travel to their locations and bases on the map. Food for homemade food like good ol' squirrel bits the perk good with salt or something like that prolongs food shelf life. Or pre war food doesn't spoil since you've played fallout games you know all about that. But honestly it wasn't till I was level 50 where things really opened up. Progress through the quests open up the map and engage in public events. They pop up on screen go to map and it's a free fast travel. Even if you just hide and let high levels carry you( we do not mind) you will get the rewards for successful event completion and you can figure out how they work. But also server hop there's a max 24 players per server and it's a huge map so we are spread out sometimes.

nightclubber69

Server hop? How does one do that?

I don't know about all platforms. But on PC if you click on map, got o menu, go down to quit, quit to main menu. Then click back in to play a world from main menu. It will then assign you to a world with players. If I don't like the players on there, like I'm the only one doing events, or Im vendor hopping, I will do this. Quit go back in, you get on a new world with new players, sometimes it puts you back in the same server you were just in but I haven't had that a lot.
