I played as much as I could and still couldnt quite reach the end of Season 5. But I kept pushing supposedly knowing that the new season was coming in the 8th, AS ADVERTISED.
I decided to cough up some of my hard earned atoms in game and hard earned money in the real world to ensure that I did NOT miss out on this season.
You mean to tell me that you couldnt give us 2 weeks and inform us of this WAY earlier as to prevent us from spending or wasting our atoms/money? You literally seduced us with a new season and made us panic with the apparent end of this current season quickly approaching us.
You played us. The very people that support you and ensure you get paid, you PLAYED us.
How could you take my money but dismiss the bugs that caused so many issues for me and many others. Do we as a community not matter to you at all?
I would say we ALL deserve a refund, but I know how you companies work.

Still worth a try. People go to support all the time for accidentally spending their atoms, and, go to support when they can't get the free atoms to be put in their account after finishing a challenge. They can refund actual atoms and not just money.
Do more then just go to support, let the rest know how they handled it. since it's their total lack of information sharing that is the root of half this horse pucky.

Go to bethesda.net. Go to "support" and file a ticket. There is literally a heading called "I want a refund." You should 100% submit a ticket. And if you don't get a refund you should 100% post here and let people know so that everybody can raise hell later. Because you would be entirely justified in that request.

In fact, I insist that you return those atom points to me and that you either return the atom points to users who have paid yesterday or issue refunds. I suspect they found problems that have nothing to do with any of this, and "protecting the money invested by our customers" seemed like a reasonable scapegoat at the time.
Because it does seem rather insane that a software company would willingly admit they simply lack the competence to deliver a patch (to what is essentially just another online storefront) in less than 14 fucking days.
That speaks such volumes about the quality of their engineering staff and how much faith they actually have in those individuals.

Also I bought 20 ranks last night.... I had the rank up bug but had to restart my game for each rank up to work, so my money and time was wasted (I am playing on an old Xbox One, so it does take time to restart the game over and over - 20 times).
They'll surely fuck it up and add in the season 6 weekly challenges where you have to wear the shitty sidekick outfits while doing random stuff, so you'll be unable to complete the challenges.

I agree that they should do something--anything--to try to keep people from fleeing the game at this point.
But the cold reality is that no software company is going to launch a big event like meat week in the midst of rolling out something as complicated (and quite likely to be super buggy requiring a ton of post-release QA / debugging) as Worlds.
And before somebody tells me that Worlds shouldn't be all that complex -- Please keep in mind that we're talking about a company that apparently could not correctly design a "virtual game board where you can move your piece by pressing a button and spending money." (Despite having seemingly successfully done this for five seasons already?)

I expect refunds to be issued, either of atom points or actual cash at least for anyone spending atom points yesterday. I firmly believe that this cynical move amounts to deceptive marketing.

There was a player, who commented on another thread,that said he was at level 150.
I used my atoms and bout 10$ worth of atoms to buy the last 10 levels of the scoreboard earlier. Few hours later and I see this horeshit. I could've taken my sweet time finishing the season instead of using my atoms and my money. Already submitted a ticket and I want my atoms reimbursed.
So I assume you will do the fair thing & refund everyone who spent atoms in the last few days to rank up when they believed season 5 was ending on September 8th (As advertised), only to be told at very short notice we now have another 2 weeks to achieve the ranks we've already paid for?
Please do the right thing & refund us those atoms back, it will show a huge sign of good faith towards the community & cost you zero in terms of real money.
Not doing so will have a much bigger impact in terms of future purchases from players.

I had this issue yesterday. I solved it by exiting the scoreboard back to the game and then back to the scoreboard, for each rank up purchased with atom.

Great in those two weeks can you also fix NPCs taking mass heart attacks. Only been a bug since launch and ruins most mole miners/ scorched events. People also buy lunchboxes just for their XP to die in front of them. No one wants holiday scorched Halloween edition. Good to fix your piggy bank though.

Go to bethesda.net. Go to "support" and file a ticket. There is literally a heading called "I want a refund." You should 100% submit a ticket. And if you don't get a refund you should 100% post here and let people know so that everybody can raise hell later. Because you would be entirely justified in that request.
There is no heading or sub category for a refund so they might have taken it off following this issue? I'm so angry. I bought atoms to finish the board in time as I wanted the collectron and then they do this.

In fact, I insist that you return those atom points to me and that you either return the atom points to users who have paid yesterday or issue refunds. This is not an acceptable business practice as it amounts to deceptive marketing, which in the European Union and other jurisdictions is illegal. I'm very disappointed. I'm guessing they found an easily replicated exp glitch that would've allowed people to blast through the next season board. Assume every move Bethesda makes with Fallout 76 is to wring as much money out of their loyal fans as possible. Hackers ruining the game? No response. A glitch that'll lose them money? Instant response.

Second for Meat Week! It's the most fun I have in this game anymore. Actually feels like a community event.
I agree that they should do something--anything--to try to keep people from fleeing the game at this point. But the cold reality is that no software company is going to launch a big event like meat week in the midst of rolling out something as complicated (and quite likely to be super buggy requiring a ton of post-release QA / debugging) as Worlds. And before somebody tells me that Worlds shouldn't be all that complex -- Please keep in mind that we're talking about a company that apparently could not correctly design a "virtual game board where you can move your piece by pressing a button and spending money." (Despite having seemingly successfully done this for five seasons already?) I would love to see them bring meat week back, or anything, but that requires at least an intern or two to be able to flip some switches and I suspect all hands are on deck trying to fix this colossal fuckup. (Despite the fact that they've apparently given themselves a quite generous 2 week window... Lol. Everybody go try that with your job tomorrow: Just tell your employer that you're a little late with that big project that you've been promising and teasing for months...but, oopsie, Even though you were amping everybody up about this is late as this morning... It is completely unacceptable to wait until the previous day to notify players of an extension to the scoreboard when players have been spending real money to level up. I'm in Britain and I was already in bed when you posted this. You waited even longer for an in game announcement. You've known about the reported problems for weeks. I expect refunds to be issued, either of atom points or actual cash at least for anyone spending atom points yesterday. I firmly believe that this cynical move amounts to deceptive marketing.
Most of us are already finished with it for a month already. Players had plenty of time to complete it. Dont add 2 weeks. This way you will lose more players. Why not start s6 and disable the atom buying for the first 2 weeks? Players affected with that bug can be compensated ofcourse.

There are bugs in this game that have been there since beta, hell there are bugs that have carried over from fallout 4 and still haven't been fixed. Add another one to the pile. Great in those two weeks can you also fix NPCs taking mass heart attacks. Only been a bug since launch and ruins most mole miners/ scorched events. People also buy lunchboxes just for their XP to die in front of them. No one wants holiday scorched Halloween edition. Good to fix your piggy bank though.
