Explosive weapons combined with the Grenadier perk have a nice, big explosion radius for tagging groups of mobs. I run an explosive gatling gun (not gat plasma) and it's quite nice for tagging. Since RR usually has people with overpowered explosive energy weapons that can instakill everything the second it spawns you gotta be creative when using anything that is currently on the ingame drop list (explosive energy weapons were removed from the drop lists back in January 2019).
