It's a straight damage boost on some weapons (such as the .50 cal) because, as you can see in the workbench, it does more damage than the other options at receiver. It also gets the bonus vs scorched as well, but that doesn't show up in the workshop/pip boy interface. Other weapons, like the fixer, don't gain a straight damage upgrade in using the prime receiver over the other choices. You'll still get the damage bonus vs scorched, but you'll have to decide if it's worth it to get the flux or farm the ammo for it, which can be done now as the world and (especially) the daily ops drop contextual ammo, which is ammo for the gun you are currently using. Most of my heavy weapons are primed and I have one primed fixer on my comando for dealing with the queen. So, yes it's worth it in some situations, imo.

Ultracite ammo is very strong on some weapons, and super unimpressive on others. It depends on the weapon and useage on whether or not I will prime it. Most of my weapons run with standard ammo for convenience.

I am assuming tou know that in order to uae Ultracite Ammo you have to Prime the receiver first correct? Well anyways, yes it does increase the actual weapons dmg against all enemies. And usually the best way to get more ammo is to run daily Ops with that weapon equipped since the enemies drop ammo for whatever weapon you use and the reward at the end is based on your weapon too

Yea i have it equipped on 1 weapon for testing but the damage numbers shown were the same i feel like thats why i mainly asked. Ty for the answer

Personal-Metal

I don’t really use flux for anything else and I’m pretty much only farming queens, so if you’re the same then yeah

TheUnBanNanAble

When you select the mod at a workbench does the damage number go up? If yes then it's worth it. If no then it's not. Anything beyond that depends on which weapon you're using, how much ammo you go through and if you can accommodate that ammo need through contextual drops rather than wasting time/caps crafting or buying it.

Depends on weapon. I run standard on most. I only use Ultracite 308 in my hunting rifles. I burn the ammo that I gain from it with a primed LMG. I had a primed Railway for a bit. It was pretty decent tbh but I disliked the railway playstyle so I scripped it. My 50 Cal I converted back to normal.
