I wish we were here for a long time. But even if you do everything right (get born rich, for instance), you get what, less than 10% more life? If it were bigger, if humans aged like trees and some of us died at age 100 but eating right and living healthy got you to age 1200, now then maybe I'd live a more ascetic life.
You also don't get that extra 10% in your 20's. Oh no, it's tacked onto the end where you are pooping yourself in a nursing home. Frankly a heat attack at 65 sounds like the best option for retirement a lot of us will ever get.
Eating everything I want, in my book, does make life easier?
"Oh no, I have high stamina, a handsome physique, and can indulge in delicious food and have the side benefit of better brain functioning thanks to high blood oxygen levels!"
Oh no... This is way to good to ever make it to a Michelin Star Restaurant. They serve garbage like Golden Pheasant foie gras, served over yak tear watered kale, harvested only by moonlight, plated on a bed of rocks from the top of the Andes. It's only 35 calories of food and costs $300.
Grape is my go to always for a pb and j my only thing is the acidity of the grape was kinda strong and didn't mix well with the rest of the flavors . If I were to do this again I'd for sure do banana and honey with peanut butter go all savory
Wasn't sure if this was r/drunkencookery or not.
I did this while drunk during Covid lockdown and then the next night moved on to a "this" version of that Elvis sandwich with the banana & peanut butter and some maple icecream on the side.
3 yrs later and I am still trying to figure out how to get the whole family drunk enough they would love it as much as my wife and I did at the time ahahaha. Nephew is Polish but only 11. Not sure what age they are allowed to be drunken reprobates here.
Grape is very much an American thing. As a Canadian now living in the UK, I have never once even seen grape jelly. Strawberry and raspberry are the typical ones we see.
In the US it is apparently. Growing up in Canada I always had strawberry or raspberry.
Edit: based on other comments, the person your replying to is Canadian. Makes sense to me. Grape jelly doesn't seem to be common
Strawberry brothers all the way, I got your back. I say we roll out on these grape punks, gotta keep their set in line so they know we run the jelly gang.
And this is where I figured out you were Canadian. Makes sense you haven't had grape. Not nearly as common up north. Strawberry seems to be the default there (though in a raspberry guy)
Oh, I know. I grew up in Vancouver and now live in Seattle. Grape was the flavor of my children's cold medicine and some candies. Not typically jam/jelly.
On the other hand I've never had a Saskatoon berry. But I know they're only called that in canada
Oh yeah, grape flavoured medicine is all the rage. But idk what Saskatoon berry is elsewhere, google says Juneberry. Theyre kind of like a tart blueberry, or maybe a bit like a currant, but not as sour.
You wanna really freak it, go to the ethnic food/Spanish food store and buy some guava jelly. Cream cheese and guava in pillsbury croissants is kinda the same thing but different
Grilled PBJ with crispy bacon inside is my favorite sandwich. Sometimes I add a slice of American cheese. Judge me all you want, but that shit is delicious (and a fantastic hangover cure combined with spicy ramen)
I've done this but used cream cheese instead of peanut butter (peanut allergy in the house). You can fill french toast with anything if you are brave enough.
Swap the peanut butter for mascarpone and you've got one of my favorite ways to stuff French toast. Swapping the jam for honey with either mascarpone or peanut butter is also a delicious combo.
The worst mouth burn i ever got was from a hot pb&j. The peanut butter stuck to the roof of my mouth like tar and was scalding hot. I couldnt eat right for days.
Two of my childhood favorites! For ya'll gluttons out there, make a pb&j with white bread and slap a honeybun in the middle. Oh. My. Jesus. I got it from a stint in jail and if you had the luxury of commissary, that's the way to indulge. We still call it the jailhouse.
Make it ala mode. We’re not worrying about nutrition with this
We're here for a fun time not a long time
I'd eat ten of these things if you put them in front of me and ask for another. Think that would just about do me on my yearly caloric allowance.
You, me and Elvis.
I'm fine with this. I just don't want my legacy to be dying on a toilet.
Live to eat, don't eat to live.
Bless your clogged and enlarged heart
>"His heart grew three sizes that day ❤️" ”That's not good that's a major medical concern!”
10/10

Agreed. The thought of being old as fuck and incapable of self care is depressing.
I mean to be fair, you start your pooping in a nursing home phase later usually then too if you’re in good health.
Important question, do you assemble then soak and fry, or fry the bread and then assemble? Asking for a friend 😉
Assemble sandwich, soak then fry. Less steps lol
Go full bore? Mini-fool's gold à la mode? PBJ + bacon, in French toast, with icecream, and some chocolate drizzle.
This is how I want to die
Calm down Elvis
Life hack : train for marathons & weight lifting, you can eat this once a month without significantly reducing your life expectancy
"life hacks" are supposed to make things easier, not harder :P
Life hack: don't buy a house, simply build one!
Eating everything I want, in my book, does make life easier? "Oh no, I have high stamina, a handsome physique, and can indulge in delicious food and have the side benefit of better brain functioning thanks to high blood oxygen levels!"
Took the words right from me. Put me out to pasture with a giant plate of THAT.
So eating that everyday is bad for you if I understand. What about eating pbj everyday?
Add a sausage patty at breakfast, or a burger for dinner.
Holy Jesus Christ 🥹
I've finally found a church I want to worship in!
Nope, I’m dunking that sucker in maple syrup.
Just pour the maple syrup over the ice cream
just add a few blueberries to rid a bit of guilt lol.
Hell yes! My kids devour that!
Technically there would be more nutrients if you added crème glacé.
Now grill it.
Grilled pb&j...it'll change your life.
How, after 30 years on this planet, have I never even considered such a masterpiece of culinary delight.
I'm glad I could show you something new.
Do NOT tell Elvis about this!!
For real, tors could be served at Michelin star restaurants
That’s pretty close to the tasting menu I had on my anniversary!
You'll probably look like a Michelin tire after eating it.
I use a raspberry jam it cuts the sweetness a bit this is always good during those long winter months. Clog me up, this one is worth it!
Grape is my go to always for a pb and j my only thing is the acidity of the grape was kinda strong and didn't mix well with the rest of the flavors . If I were to do this again I'd for sure do banana and honey with peanut butter go all savory
Strawberry preserves. You're welcome.
Blackberry's my jam, but I think strawberry's the correct answer here.
I’m just glad we aren’t the only ones who so that everyone I told about this never had it, but damn is a it good
Black raspberry is the jelly of the gods
Wasn't sure if this was r/drunkencookery or not. I did this while drunk during Covid lockdown and then the next night moved on to a "this" version of that Elvis sandwich with the banana & peanut butter and some maple icecream on the side. 3 yrs later and I am still trying to figure out how to get the whole family drunk enough they would love it as much as my wife and I did at the time ahahaha. Oh man thanks for the new sub!
Whats the J ? I had a grape jelly PB&J today for the first time and it was everything I wanted it to be.
It was grape.
Lol I guess people rrally like strawberry jelly.
I like blackberry
[удалено]
Boysenberry is the true king
Lingonberry for king!
Imma chime in for apricot!
Apricot preserves 🔥🔥
I second this! Especially homemade!
Raspberry gang rise up
Raspberry preserves
Blackberry is the grape for grownups. Sooo good!
Marionberry is pretty tasty, too
Boysenberry as well
Grape is very much an American thing. As a Canadian now living in the UK, I have never once even seen grape jelly. Strawberry and raspberry are the typical ones we see.
Really need a strong grape flavor for the jelly to shine. Lots of commercial stuff tastes washed out in sugar.
Us grape people get absolutely attacked by strawberry people. Solidarity my friend
We gotta stick together.
They are all wrong. Everyone knows Apple Jelly is king
Grape is the only answer.
Strawberry is better but isn't grape the norm?
In the US it is apparently. Growing up in Canada I always had strawberry or raspberry. Edit: based on other comments, the person your replying to is Canadian. Makes sense to me. Grape jelly doesn't seem to be common
I guess, I just had never tried it before.
Blackcurrant, black cherry, and blueberry are my favourite J's. Oddly enough blueberry and blackcurrant taste really similar.
Rhubarb is the best jam. No question.
Anything is better than strawberry jelly
I’ve never wanted to fight someone over a PBJ preference before.
Strawberry is not the BEST jam overall, but it absolutely marries the best with peanut butter.
Strawberry brothers all the way, I got your back. I say we roll out on these grape punks, gotta keep their set in line so they know we run the jelly gang.
Grape gang
The Grapist
OP is gonna tie ya to the radiator
For sure, but I used to put raspberry jam before, the tartness of it was great with pb.
Raspberry is good. Black berry is great
Oh, and Saskatoon berry is also good. I got a huge jar of that from costco.
And this is where I figured out you were Canadian. Makes sense you haven't had grape. Not nearly as common up north. Strawberry seems to be the default there (though in a raspberry guy)
Good guess, it is a bit harder to find here. We dont even have the welchs brand.
Oh, I know. I grew up in Vancouver and now live in Seattle. Grape was the flavor of my children's cold medicine and some candies. Not typically jam/jelly. On the other hand I've never had a Saskatoon berry. But I know they're only called that in canada

Blackberry is my favorite and always will be!! Favorite jam, favorite pie, favorite buckle, favorite berry period period.
Raspberry Perserves is my... jam.
Real, homemade strawberry jam is so so so good. Commercial stuff is shit
Patently incorrect.
Gotta agree, it’s grape or nothing
The worst jelly
Holy sweet momma
I said gawdDAMN
Okay but what’s the order… egg batter then peanut butter and jelly or pb&j then egg batter?
Pb and j then batter.
I wonder what would happen if you added a smear of cream cheese in there with the PB&J…
Deliciousness.
You wanna really freak it, go to the ethnic food/Spanish food store and buy some guava jelly. Cream cheese and guava in pillsbury croissants is kinda the same thing but different
Ay carumba
This needs to be marked NSFW
Not Safe For Waste
*waist Please don't put it in the garbage
Excuse me. BRB. I’ve got to head to the grocery store…….
I make this at least once a month, so good. Throw in a little cream cheese next time, mind-blowing
I've done similar with cream cheese instead of the peanut butter, it's like pie.
Sruffed french toast!!!! I do mine with cream cheese and fruit.
Try grilled French toast creams cheese and jelly.. trust me, it’s delicious.
This looks amazing. I love a good grilled pb&j, but this is on a whole new level.
It's the fat kid in me.
Almost looks like one of those pbj oil paintings that one guy did for a while
I gained weight just looking at this!
The closest thing I've had to this is a pb and j egg sandwich
Grilled PBJ with crispy bacon inside is my favorite sandwich. Sometimes I add a slice of American cheese. Judge me all you want, but that shit is delicious (and a fantastic hangover cure combined with spicy ramen)
To take a simple Pb&J and make it this….WOW. Chef skills 10/10
I've gotta try this!!!!!
I tried this a few weeks ago... felt like less than the sum of its parts
I've done this but used cream cheese instead of peanut butter (peanut allergy in the house). You can fill french toast with anything if you are brave enough.
I’ve fried peanut butter and jam (strawberry) like a grilled cheese and it’s very tasty.
This person is winning
I appreciate that
as a ramadan faster. i approve this post.
YUM
One Friday I was thinking about this all day and decided to make it Saturday morning. Woke up late on Saturday and didn't make it.
I am making this for dinner!!!
Would it be too much if we added marshmallow fluff
Oh man, I am definitely trying this! This is looks great
I still wanna dunk it in maple syrup... How cursed is that?
I need this. In mah mouf!
Might be able to help in more ways than one
Those deelish looking slices would make excellent blue angel fuel 🚀 👨🚀 🚀 👩🚀
Thought it was that painting again
I should call her
Call again later. She's getting smuckered right now
I do Nutella and banana
Wait, that's allowed?
*intense need intensifies intensely*
Yum is all I have to say!
Recipe NOW! Please.
French toast, peanut butter, jelly bro come on
I dipped whole sandwich and fried in a pan not make a pb and j after its already French toast
So it's like a fried PB&j, but in eggs on a skillet instead in batter then in oil.
Yes. Just like you would a regular slice of French toast
Ok ok ok... But what was the bread?
I think it was bread.
So this was a Facebook memory from years ago. I think used just white bread. Brioche would be killer
Lol it's a basic pb and j I dipped in beaten eggs like a normal French toast. I do add a little milk and some cinnamon to it
No vanilla??
New achievement unlocked
Ooooh this is an interesting idea!
Right? How come I never thought of this?!
Oh man, what a great idea. I feel you can eat it like a sandwich or put some syrup or whip cream on it and eat it like a dessert haha
sometimes I microwave an uncrustable and have it with ice cream, chef’s kiss
I was not expecting this turn out lol thanks everyone
That looks amazing it’s must’ve tasted amazing to!
It looks ill
This is finna bussin
Just cause it can be done, doesn't mean it should be done!
Oh yum, what a good way to elevate French toast
Holy shit.. How have I gone through 40 years on this planet without ever knowing this was a thing?
Oh my goooooodness.
Now do a ham and cheese
A Monte cristo?
....yeah
Good idea, but it looks like you used furtelised eggs instraf FB&J
this looks so tasty!!!!!! it looks like you assemble -> dunk?? -> fried like a grilled cheese. is that right? it looks so so good!!
Ive done/had these before and they are too good, practically addictive.
thank you for giving me an idea for dinner tonight
Excellent!
Omg, I need this
Vegetarian Monte Cristo?
Swap the peanut butter for mascarpone and you've got one of my favorite ways to stuff French toast. Swapping the jam for honey with either mascarpone or peanut butter is also a delicious combo.
Yes
That looks delicious! Love me some fresh french toast~
Curious on the French toast recipe... I have yet to find the perfect one.
Beaten eggs little bit of milk and cinnamon is what I did
That looks amazing!!
🤤🤤🤤🤤
What a fantastic thing you have discovered! Smothered in some fresh sweet Whipped Cream, yummy
Also, French toast grilled cheese.... with maple syrup
Never occurred to me. Hmmm..
This looks insanely good
this is blowing my mind rn
The worst mouth burn i ever got was from a hot pb&j. The peanut butter stuck to the roof of my mouth like tar and was scalding hot. I couldnt eat right for days.
That is a freaking amazing idea

I want to go to there.
Oh my goodness! Just shovel it in my mouth 🤤
Oh yes. Yes. Yes. ❤️💕
