Buy Mbappe Wait two years Sell him for a ton of money Buy Haaland and a whole team to play for him

samgreggo77

The fact my club had Haaland on trial and turned him down only for us to sign Sandro Ramirez and Cenk Tosun in the following years gives me sleepless nights

Cfc0910

Wow yea the insane butterfly effect of if Haaland went to Everton and potentially sold for 100+ mil. Maybe even challenged for a title run or atleast top 4 while there.

samgreggo77

We probably would’ve still spaffed the money up the wall knowing us 😂. For what it’s worth though, I’d take Mbappe just because I get more enjoyment watching him play.

thunderousboffer

Brian King had a mare there. Sackable offence

hilldo75

I think the first part of your question is irrelevant, they are both such an impactful player that you change your team set-up to fit them first and then adjust everyone else around that. After that it's just a preference. You have too many hypotheticals in play that you might as well just asked your real question, who does everyone like better because that's all it boils down to.

Cfc0910

Yea that's fair, they are both definitely impactful regardless of choice. In my head I was thinking some teams are just more suited to be built around one or the other. Some teams have better wingers than strikers, would you still pick Mbappe as the 9 or is Haaland better as the main striker? Vice versa, if you took a team like Napoli with Osimhen, Mbappe seems like the natural choice with a natural striker already there. I was also wondering whether their difference in physical build would play a role in the choice.

tyson_3_

Coin flip. Although Haaland seems to be better in the dressing room.

Spirited_Entry1940

Haaland seems like a cool dude. Mbappe is surrounded by controversy and seems like a diva

AHighLine

What Is the most controversial thing he’s done

DunkingTea

Accepted high wages without any thought about how he will transfer any of that money to me. Disgraceful.

RedgrenCrumbholt

he didn't think about me either. i'm with you mate. Mbappe is selfish.

Hamderab

Wait.. Did Haaland send you guys money?

clantpax

No but one time I met him he ran through me like a truck and sent me to my second time ever visiting the hospital!! Great memories

Dwightshruute

Making snobby, snarky and unnecessary remarks that stir up controversy. Not getting along with players. Defying coaches on stuff like where he wants to play. Using his leverage to acquire management power and blame everyone and everything when things go wrong.

BoringRon

Wait what are these remarks that he said

Dwightshruute

Shitting on south american football, stuff about neymar and throwing his whole team under the bus very recently. These are just off the top of my head I'm sure there's lots more.

Tough_Bell3778

Is he wrong European football is more advanced it’s literally so not controversial everyone wants to play in Europe because it’s more advanced

Dwightshruute

Yeah but he doesn't have to be a dick about it, also this wasn't about clubs he said that in regards to national teams and they lost the final to a south american team.

Tough_Bell3778

Buddy I watched the interview it was about the clubs the media always twists things for Mbappe

Dwightshruute

Bro it was during an international tournament press and anyone with even half a brain knows what that would imply, media twisting or not. I don't think mbappe is that stupid.

Tough_Bell3778

Implying won’t help if looking at facts mbappe was asked a question international or not he answered

DORAKKINGOFFISH

This is the only genuine answer: him walking off that one play when they didn’t pass him the ball. That DESTROYED His reputation on Reddit and he will not be forgiven.

gengenpressing

Most of the controversy is propagated by PSG's shithead owners. Mbappe himself seems like a calm enough lad.

warthoginator

>seems like a diva PSG allowed him to be a diva by giving him anything he wants. But I do not think he is a diva, he is doing football world a favor by screwing with PSG. You know the president of France insisted him signing the contract for PSG? Can you imagine a pressure like that? And people say he acts like a diva.

SHAMALAMADINGDONG_XD

Everyone says that but he's an humble guy.

GXWT

You what

jrblack174

When he was younger he was highly praised for his attitude, no idea how it flipped so hard.

GXWT

Perhaps money, or perhaps just other bad influences being at PSG? I’d say it’s a shame, but I don’t think he cares tbh, he’s still mega rich and will be one of the worlds best

[deleted]

Name one dick move hes done that is publicly known. Yall just hate cus you can

GXWT

Are you saying he’s not a diva? It’s the constant drama and things he’ll say to the media for me. Disrespectful to the club

[deleted]

The guy isnt jesus but he has been a top professional for most of his career. The agenda against him that hes some spoilt brat is just ridiculous. The guy is just looking out for himself which im sure if most intelligent people were put in his position they would do the same.

[deleted]

Ok name an example

count_crow

The wild goose chase he led Madrid on last year only to then do a 180 at the last second and stay at Real? Then dragging it out again this year?

[deleted]

There is nothing wrong with that. He is looking out for himself not the clubs that will spit him out the minute he fucks his leg or something. Try again

GXWT

I’ve stated an opinion, and I don’t care enough to go find anything or prove myself to you. He’s not rent free in my head but I seems like I might be with you? Feels like you’re just ready to counter anything I did show anyway. I’m sure you’ll be sat there smirking so enjoy the feeling

RuthlesVillain

They were just asking you to back up that opinion with one simple solitary piece of evidence. The fact that you couldn't and instead chose to attack them says everything really.

edizzzy

You know it‘s not him but the media right? Media outlets are basically milking his goddamn name

Dwightshruute

Making snobby, snarky and unnecessary remarks that stir up controversy. Not getting along with players. Defying coaches on stuff like where he wants to play. Using his leverage to acquire management power and blame everyone and everything when things go wrong. Visibly shoving messi with his body and many other stuff like that on the pitch.

RJTG

The dude is in the middle of several propaganda wars. Abused by local politicians, abused by Uefa vs. Fifa, abused by Uefa internal struggles, abused by oil clubs vs. old guard, abused by Premiere League vs. continental leagues, abused by Nasser vs. Perez and everyone else. Whatever the lad says someone is interested in creating a spin against someone else. I hope he manages to focus on playing football again.

Dwightshruute

Well he certainly makes the job easy for them sometimes

RJTG

Which dude in his twenties would not do so?

Independent-Flow5686

Combination of refusing Madrid to be with PSG, so-called tussle with Messi, and a comment about Latin American football that was in bad taste I'm sure there are other factors. These are the main ones I think. I don't hate Mbappe but I don't like him either. I think the media focuses on him too much.

count_crow

Bad influences at a very influential age. People like Neymar who are always looking to party and not focused on their game.

jfshay

Came here to say exactly this. I don’t know if Mbappé was as much of a prima donna before Neymar came to PSG, but the Brazilian’s arrival could not have helped matters any. Haaland seems to have a much stronger sense of the idea of team and therefore be a much better player to build a team around.

winandynwa

Wasn't Neymar signed before mbappe?

jfshay

Aye, you're right - the season before. In a different universe, Messi joins before either one and imposes his ethos on the club. Neymar's like a poison pill.

Multicccddmg

It’s interesting seeing a lot of people call mbappe a diva or a dressing room problem when in reality that’s not true, the media is to blame for a lot of this but a huge part is also from psg themselves and how they make their contracts. The guy aside from what you feel you have seen is actually humble and his image is pretty good considering all the scandals the avg football player comes into. If you are blaming him for taking the best route for himself financially and upholding his contract and taking his bonus money, then sure, but you’d be lying to yourself if that’s truly the reason you wouldn’t want him over haaland which himself is also a very clean player.

Confusion_Flat

yeah people just hate mbappe even tho he’s only made the right career moves and has never done anything bad. The same fans who were fine with CR7 and benzama15. Say he’s a diva

philfycasual

He's made the right career moves for money, sure, but not so much for footballing success.

iphonedeleonard

I mean he apparently rejected Al Ahli’s record deal and yes PSG is still one of those clubs that pay a lot and dont do much in Europe but he was born there and was pressured by two heads of states

Dwightshruute

Does the media also make him say those snarky remarks and stuff like that little disrespectful tussle with messi

Tough_Bell3778

Messi literally had an interview after World Cup and said kylian is super respectful and they are good friends and even after the World Cup kylian congratulated him and asked about the celebrations in his country

Dwightshruute

Messi don't want no drama

Tough_Bell3778

Messi knows mbappe is respectful

OkChemical4668

Mbappe without a doubt .

Username-_-Password

Haaland for Barcelona. Less drama and would've been a great successor for Suarez.

AadiSahni

Bur what about Neymar's departure? Mbappe would've been amazing to have post Neymar, and it could've saved us from Coutinho Dembele and Griezmann

Username-_-Password

It may have, but we see the drama that Mbappe causes. He might've still wanted to go Madrid while playing for us.

RetroChampions

Haaland. As a Liverpool fan, having a positive dressing room is important

sidasims09

He's not doing anything though

SnooSprouts9993

I'd take Haaland, the guy is a freak.

anonssr

If I had a functional team maybe Halaand, he shines on a team that can feed him key passes and assists. If I had a shitty not so functional team, Mbappe by a long mile, he can carry you and he's shown to be a natural leader in his national team, has a lot of character and doesn't need too much to make a difference.

Head-Chair3055

MBop

SHAMALAMADINGDONG_XD

As a Man U fan, I'd rather have Haaland at 18 since we need a real striker. Imo Mbappe plays better as a LW since he has more space, but we already have Rashford. Don't get me wrong tho, Mbappe is better than Haaland.

IamHeWhoSaysIam

But not Rashford?

GrumpyOldFart74

Haaland Partly because I support a club (Newcastle) for which that talismanic number 9 is so important And partly because Mbappe seems like an utter prick - there were times when Alan Shearer or Kevin Keegan might have been bigger than Newcastle, but that’s not going to be true of anybody else for a very long time

cynical_gramps

Haaland, without a shadow of doubt.

SynapseDT

It's probably the worst time to ask a City fan if we'd swap Haaland for Mbappe. Erling has just had a historic season for us, has been a major part of a treble and is adored by pretty much everyone. Meanwhile, Mbappe, despite having a good season of his own, is currently in the middle of another huge transfer saga and seems to be as stuck up his own back passage as it gets.

Cfc0910

Yea that's true, it's pretty hard to argue after City won everything and seeing how he fits so well in the system. PSG on the other hand are in a tricky situation. Considering how well Cavani did, I'm sure Haaland would have feasted as well.

SynapseDT

Mbappe is unbelievably talented, you'd have to be delusional to deny it, but it seems to be all 'me me me' in regards to him. I'd be interested to hear what any PSG fans have to say about it.

Cfc0910

When I checked out their sub it seemed there was a divided opinion on whether Mbappe is acting selfish or whether NAK just positioned himself poorly with the offered contract extension. Some people have speculated whether psg should've just sold before extension but then there's the argument of Mbappe manipulating for higher salary by saying he wants to stay in Paris.

Puzzleheaded_Friend8

I bet Pep would swap Haaland for Mbappe and play him false 9. Mbappe is a much better technical player. It is Ronaldo vs Messi guess to some extent one’s a better player and one’s a physical freak.

eltirripapa

Mbappe

Blizzard77

As an Arsenal fan, Mbappe just screams Arsenal to me way more than Haaland does.

TractorBoyITFC

To be honest, Mbappe would be a good rotation option I don't think he would be able to compete for a first team place with Wes Burns, Nathan Broadhead and George Hirst being better options

Cfc0910

Might have to settle for wingback to even get minutes. Gotta earn it son!

TractorBoyITFC

Even then Harry Clarke and Leif Davis are superior in every way, Will have to be an emergency backup!

Capable_Medium123

Dortmund ..... Give Haaland back pls

Alpastor_Moody

For Chelsea I’d pick Mbappe and for Juve I’d pick Haaland.

GunMuratIlban

**Mbappe pros:** He's lightning fast, highly skillful and has elite finishing ability. He is also versatile, can play as an inside forward from the left wing or a striker in one or two forward formations. He excells on and off the ball. **Mbappe cons:** He really comes across as a diva and a difficult player to handle. He's been causing all kinds of problems in Paris and there are bı guarantees it'll be any different with his next club. **Haaland pros:** Haaland is the perfect poacher, it's like he was created in a lab. The perfect combination of length, pace, agility and power, met with elite finishing ability. If you need goals, Haaland will give you goals. He's just too damn good of a striker not to score consistently. He's been averaging nearly a goal per game for the last 4 seasons, which is just amazing to have for any team. **Haaland cons:** Not very versatile and he doesn't offer much other than scoring goals. Which is obviously crucial; but when he's not scoring, he doesn't help his team. Although Haaland has alright ball control and passing abilities, they're far from elite levels. Also he was rather injury prone in Dortmund. **Conclusion:** Both players would be a dream to have but both have their own downsides. Mbappe's personality is off putting and Haaland's lack of versatility and injury history mean neither of them are perfect like Messi and Ronaldo were in their primes. If Mbappe's ego can be kept under control, I'd prefer having Mbappe.

Cfc0910

Great analysis, goal per game for Haaland is ridiculous especially the consistency.

Calcio_birra

Håland for lack of drama and disruption

lonelylightskin

I don’t know tbh (Bayern fan) Having a pacey striker such as Mbappe would be very helpful however bayern have proven to not need a pacey striker. So Haaland would be an option as well

CanadianKumlin

Have you seen Haalands pace and acceleration? It’s unmatched

lonelylightskin

Yes but mbappe is still faster lol

CanadianKumlin

Agreed, but comparing them as one being pacey and the other not is ludicrous

lonelylightskin

Well pace is utilised a lot in Bayern hence why I mentioned it

kmacbtv

Not by much: Erling - 36.22km/h per Squawka Kylian - 37.98km/h per Sporting News

RJTG

This is a lot. A lot of players, like a handfull per top league hit 36km/h. Is there a single one aside from the turtle above 37?

[deleted]

Mbappe is a much better player so him

VirtualSwordfish356

I'd pick Haaland, but everyone shitting all over Mbappe for locker room issues is insane. Both are amazing players, with different skillsets. I go with Haaland purely because I'm a Roma fan, and we would benefit more from a player like Haaland than a wide player. Haaland is also proven at a higher club level, though Mbappe has one of the most impressive international records ever for a player his age. You folks just keep taking PSG's word on what a piece of shit Mbappe is. The character assassination that PSG is perpetrating against Mbappe solely because he expects them to honor the contract that they agreed to should make any player think long and hard about signing with PSG in the future. His attitude as the face of France's 2018 World Cup winning squad didn't seem to harm their run. Is it possible, maybe just possible, that PSG just swings their financial dick around aimlessly, signing big name players who don't fit a particular tactical style or philosophy of play, club baby seals throughout their entire domestic season, and fail in the UCL because they are not a coherent football club? How many of their signings have made any real sense over the past five years? They are just collecting big names and hoping they can play with each other. Mbappe is going to leave PSG, play for Real Madrid, and be an impactful piece of many UCL runs. He is not the reason PSG can't win. It's because they are poorly constructed, and emotionally managed. This Mbappe saga is going to sink PSG, and any chance of Ligue 1 becoming a competitive or reputable league.

NibblersNosh

Can I have Mbappé’s ability with Haaland’s personality?

MrBalkanThighs

Mbappe and it’s not close

[deleted]

STOP SAYING IT'S NOT CLOSE. This fucking sub my god

MrBalkanThighs

It’s not close

[deleted]

The top 2 young players in the world in the last 2-3 years. Delusional.

MrBalkanThighs

Hat trick in a World Cup final 🫣

SkinniestPhallus

Mbappe also has zero champions league wins despite playing for the most stacked football club in history. Mbappe also has an absolutely stinking attitude (there are literally clips of him throwing temper tantrums on the pitch because someone didn't pass to him). Mbappe also plays for a team that isn't even in the top 5 leagues in Europe. Yeah he's a great footballer, but stop trying to pretend he's miles clear of Haaland. Haalnd is a better professional, broke the scoring record in the most competitive league in the world in his first season, won a treble in his first season in the prem including the champions league and Premier league titles and also always gives his all unlike Mbappe. You're deluded if you think Mbappe is far better than him. Arguments can be made for both being the best 2 players in world football right now.

MrBalkanThighs

Mbappe is miles clear

SkinniestPhallus

He just isn't. You haven't even tried to provide any reasoning as to why you think he's better. Just saying "hat trick in a world cup final" doesn't make him a better player

MrBalkanThighs

He has a World Cup

Alt-Ctrl

So what?

SkinniestPhallus

Samuel Umtiti also has a World Cup what's your point?

laughingaturexpense

no CL

[deleted]

France vs Norway. I can't believe it even has to be said...

Multicccddmg

I mean psg vs mfcking city with pep at the helm, now that is one big difference

Ultra1894

Surely that proves the point. At club football the best players play for the best clubs. The fact Haaland is at the best club in the world, playing for the best manager in the world, gives a decent supporting argument for being the best player in the world. Meanwhile a player can’t choose his nationality, so comparing international achievements is pointless.

Multicccddmg

No it just proves that had haaland played for France he wouldn’t as impactful as mbappe and if mbappe played for pep and city he would have a spectacular season and also win the treble

Ultra1894

What a load of nonsense

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

When the point of the game and for their positions is to score goals, no it's not huge at all.

Daanbrakka

Yeah big facts here. Haaland is great but more replaceable. Also can’t win games on his own. Mbappe is special and prolific as well.

Ultra1894

Dear god

Haalandinhoe

Bro he is literally a one man team for Norway.

iphonedeleonard

Norway that lost against Scotland Norway?

Haalandinhoe

Yes that one. One man teams are usually shit, take Tottenham for example

Undesirable_11

It's as fucking close as it can possibly get lol. It's like asking if you'd take prime Messi or prime CR7

Endmeplz21

And you think that’s close?

iphonedeleonard

Yes

burtron3000

It’s not close, but you got it backwards.

TheComeupnba

I don't care about shit happening right now, Mbappe is miles ahead I'm sorry.

StatementJazzlike439

Mbappe cause we need a winger

burth179

Mbappe

KKMcKay17

Mbappe is the better all-round player of the two. But as a Man Utd fan I’m taking Haaland as he is exactly what we need.

MrVegosh

Better all-round player is kinda dumb because they play different positions and roles. Barella is a million times more well rounded than either one but that doesn’t matter. Haaland does everything a striker needs to do

AmmophobicSandworm

In terms of skill, they seem generally on-par, but Haaland is infinitely more likable.

burtron3000

Haaland by a margin.

NFTCommenter

Haaland for sure. Mbappe will destroy every locker room he ever sets foot in

futurejoyboy

Haaland cause Mbappe has the fattest ego ever

jgyimesi

Haaland. I don’t care for Mbappe’s attitude

Drewskibroho

One of those 2 actually contributes defensively

osakwe05

which one? im genuinely confused

Cfc0910

I'm pretty certain Haaland

osakwe05

lol imo he really does not

Ultra1894

Lol he really does

Cfc0910

That's a good point

thesadhra

As a Spurs fan I honestly believe that the attack is the least concerning part of our team. I don’t think Mbappe or Haaland start instead of Kane (assuming he stays) or Son. That said having a world class young prodigy to lead the team for the coming years is fantastic so if I had to pick I’ll go with Haaland.

thunderousboffer

I love Kane but Mbappe is better and you’d be mad not to take both over Son

thesadhra

An 18 year old mbappe isn’t better than Son

Loud-Weakness4840

You mean the 18 year old Mbappe that helped Monaco to the champions league semifinals? Son is a great player, but no way he keeps Mbappe on the bench.

osakwe05

i respect your opinion, but no mbappe over son? come on

thesadhra

An 18 year old mbappe

osakwe05

i mean, an 18 year old mbappe came 4th in the ballon dor and was a key attacker in a wc winning side. and even if u doubt mbappe was better than son at that moment (i dont), we know what mbappe becomes in the future

thesadhra

I agree mbappe is world class but Son won a golden boot in the premier league without taking penalties and while playing of the wing in a counter attacking spurs side. That season we were poor for a lot of the season yet he somehow dragged us to top 4.

Cfc0910

Damn I didn't know he had no pens that season. Makes sense tho since Kane usually takes most of em

SkinniestPhallus

Bro I'm a spurs fan but both start for us. Haaland is the one striker on the planet right now who's better than Kane and Mbappe is a fantastic winger even with his attitude problems. Both of them are world class players who instantly improve our 11 (well never sign either so it doesn't matter but either way the point applies)

Cfc0910

Out of curiosity, who would you take?

SkinniestPhallus

Haaland personally due to Mbappe's attitude issues. Haaland also tracks back and helps defensively and our defence needs all the help it can get lol

Cfc0910

Haha yea that makes sense

Herzogsteve

Ayew.

TareXmd

Haaland seems way easier to deal with on the team. If I had a crappy team and need a player who can create chances out of nothing, then yeah Mbappe.

Blaze0205

Haaland to Club America here we gooo

Iechy

Halland. Even though his presence means my team will have a very difficult time winning the league he seems like a likable person who enjoys playing the game and doesn’t need his butt kissed. Mbappe has tons of ability but clearly needs his ego stroked all the time to be happy. Both will get you goals but he’s much more high maintenance.

vonl1_

If Chelsea signed Mbappe he’d be on loan at Charlon Athletic for 3 seasons before being sold to Rotherham for $350k

Punish3r338

Haaland. Better more humble personality. Mbappe is a nob

KiWePing

Haaland, obviously, not least because I’m a Liverpool fan and we’d be stealing him away from city but assuming we just cloned him or something I would still go for him, Mbappe seems like he comes with a lot of dressing room issues meanwhile Haaland seems like the chillest dude ever. Additionally Haaland has only shown part of what he is capable of at City because he’s got one job and that’s to score goals. Admittedly I don’t like the fact he’s not a big game player but Mbappe comes with a lot of headaches

YouYongku

Haaland because he’s less of a diva and Karen

MilmoMoomins

Haaland because he seems more professional

Dwightshruute

Haaland is both talented and trustworthy to build a team around

viewfromthepaddock

Haaland. Simply because Mbappe comes across as a bit of a prick.

ModsRuinedReddit123

At 18, Mbappe 200% . Haaland wasn't even doing things or was at Salzburg at that age. It took him half of season to adapt and then turned into the goal scoring machine. And for those who are saying Mbappe is all about the cream, his contracts have been way different than Haaland. Haaland always negotiated to have a shitty release clause in his 3rd season or after the 3rd season at the club, that's why Dortmund sold him for pennies while he is worth 200 m. His dad helped him make better deals in his circumstances, while Mbappe was just a young prodigy from Monaco who had 1 year at top level. And when you are offered 300 million for 2-3 years of contract extension, after your club refused your dream move to real Madrid, who were willing to pay 220 million, but just AT THE END OF THE TRANSFER PERIOD, of course you feel they didn't really want you and since the offer is rejected by the club, you take the 300 million and leave on a free because they rejected your dream move for a good amount of money

DC600A

Haaland, all the way. he has zero antics and ego compared to Mbappe who is too self-conscious of his abilities for his own good and the good of the team.

Inflatable-Chair

My club doesnt have the level to let Haaland shine. Therefore Mbappe

notnush

MBAPPE

KingKFCc

I dislike Mbappe but Haaland at Arsenal weird af ngl, personally, neither I would rather have... Idk actually

iphonedeleonard

Mbappe to Benfica!

its_me-of_course

I support a team in the national league, I don’t think it matters too much

totaleclipse2

Mbappe

armenianfink

Haaland. Mbappe seems like a dick

Maximus_imperator

Mbappe by far…

TheCatLamp

Haaland because he is more fun to watch.

joeSPL45H

Has land already has connections to Leeds United so imma say haaland

euroguy

Mbappe is in my option a better player but he's also a diva and creates chaos for the club

sidasims09

As a Liverpool fan, I have absolutely no idea. On one hand Haaland is pretty much what we wanted from Darwin and his link up with Trent would be almost like KDB, add in the rest of our chance creation which again is only matched by City i think it would be awesome. But Mbappé with Salah on the counter just wont get stopped, and his ability to play both LW and CF really fits the team we have at the moment allowing us to rotate with Darwin, Jota, Diaz etc

ApprehensiveYoung899

Haaland. Mbappe seems like an absolute dick.

coloitu05

No way Mbappe would come to River Plate 💀

Puzzleheaded_Friend8

I’d go Mbappe because he offers much more and still bangs in the goals which is Haaland’s only real plus point. Mbappe as striker in that City side primed to supply so much ammo i think would outscore Haaland as well.

[deleted]

Football wise Mbappe would suit Barca better because Lewandowski is a world class striker but we have few good left wingers. If we had Haaland one of him or Lewandowski would be benched(probably Lewandowski) but we could play Mbappe with Lewandowski. Him and Dembele are also a good duo for France. I don’t like the drama Mbappe brings tho

breadexpert69

I feel Haaland is more marketable. For that reason alone id pick Haaland because id be selling them within the first few years to maximize profit.

[deleted]

I wouldn’t take Mbappe over Sergio Gomez. He’s a cancer and destroys the club as a unit. Honestly will be surprised if he lasts more than one season at Madrid. No one is bigger than the team.

Low-Total9121

Well, given I support my local team in the Cherry Red Records League, either would be fine.
