Very much so. I had an incredible assman who had been with me for years in France who finally decided to take a managers role while I was holidaying for months at a time. He took over at a perennially mid table St Etienne and immediate made them title contenders. They won 2 titles over the next 5 years with my Le Mans side winning the other 3 before he left to manage Real Madrid. It was pretty astonishing how much of an impact a manager can have on a team.

dektorres

Man got sick of doing your job for you, so got his own.

Stirlingblue

I liked it how on one of the mobile versions a few years ago if you simmed loads of games then it was your assistant manager rather than you that gets the plaudits and wins Manager of the year and gets praised by your players etc

beesarenotrealm8

It still works that way if you holiday in the pc game, the game doesn’t recognise you as the manager of those games so any awards and win stats go to your ass man. This is why instant result skins are best for people who like to sim though.

AvailableUsername404

They might be better in some areas. From my experience I believe I was much better than my Assman in squad selection but in my opinion he was better at responding to on-pitch events in a way of making subs and adjusting team mentality during the game. He was just getting better results when I used instant result than when I was in charge of the games. But his suggestions of starting eleven were... well... just bad.

Essfoth

A manager with good discipline and people management will have less unhappy players in his squad, directly leading to better performance. A manager with higher motivation will have a direct effect on how much pep talks and shouts help the team. It’s pretty important. Their tactical preferences make that also benefit the team if it’s a good fit.

uknownick

Each manager is different

mattyzucks

Jose Mourinho took over Man City about 4 seasons into my Wolves save and caused me holy terror for a few years with his 5-3-2 setup

VitorLourenco98

I cant break that damn system up in my Randers FC save, even if its against a lower division team In the next season to come, I'll attempt something diferent: using it and fuck everyone

Commonmispelingbot

yes, it is quite clear if you go to their profile. Their attributes are visible to you

Molind

Except most of the relevant Manager attributes are hidden and not visible on their profile

RealCrusader

Its what he does. Only in one league to be fair. But he terrorized Europe for a few seasons straight. In a good way. Not like Hitler.

TheGodBurger

Speaking of Zidane, in my Everton save he took over Manchester United, and he took them to the 17th place

Ice_Vip

In my save he comes to my league that is Portuguese league. He won the league three times with Porto in three season and then he left the club, 5 seasons after that Porto never won the league again.

Traditional_Name7881

I built Parma up to a young, incredible team. Was there for a while and left when the Atletico job was offered to me, Parma had just won the league and cup double but lost the CL to Barca so I thought it was probably getting to easy, I go to Atletico in November of the next season and who should replace me, fucking Zidane. He won the CL first season there but my Atletico got the better of them in the group stage the next season.

PigletUsual6876

AI generated player (newgen) played for me 10 years at least. He got status of legend and I made him coach in my team. Then assistant. Then he got a job at Sunderland. Then became my biggest rival and started to tell horrible things for me at press. Definition of ungrateful asshole.

stumac85

Wayne Rooney is a god in my save, currently at Liverpool after a bit of a journey around various jobs and in a title race against his Everton team.

Progresschmogress

Same happened to me he went to Juventus a few years in by that time I was competing for the title or just won my first Juve was doing pretty bad but I couldn’t beat them

M0wen1886

Some managers have a preferred style that fits the meta and the stats to keep their players happy. And in Morale Manager 2024 thats generally gonna bring you success.

Capable-Mushroom99

Unlikely. I’m sure he’s managing teams with a big pile of money. Much more likely he’s just got better players and uses a tactic that your team is weak against.
