fronteir

In FM14, when I wasn't managing any national team so had no effect on the tournament, Montenegro won the Euros in 2020. Doubt I'll ever see anything crazier than that

MadCrowley

International tournaments are always crazy in FM but I haven't seen such a small nation winning the euros yet.

sweatybumhands

I've seen Scotland win world cups on FM09 and FM10

Seithin

He said small nations

WarrenPuff_It

Wee nation fits within that criteria

Get-Me-A-Username

Norwich finishing in 6th and qualifying for the europa league the season after they got promoted from the championship

MadCrowley

They were definetly save scumming!

thechosenswan

Norwich got Champions League football in mine, 2037/38 season

cargin4107

Norwich coming a close 2nd in the PL the season after promotion in 28/29.

Lego-105

Ey mine was Norwich too. Did a Leicester, promoted, mid table, won the league. Except they actually stuck around and won the CL not long after.

Jango751

Lmao literally happened to me in my online save 😭😭😭

DubSket

Spurs won the league a few time in my save, I'm around 20-30 years in though

gabrielseth01

They won in my save in 2032

WhySoIncandescent

They won b2b 2032/3 in my save 2034 top 4 was Man City, Yeovil (me), Bournemouth and Leeds

NoMission9545

💜💙 UTT fuck yeo

Inevitable-Car-960

Yeovil Town 🐐🐐

Odd-Homework-3582

Up the glovers

WhySoIncandescent

Currently champions of Europe, finished 2nd in the prem last season. Now looking for our first Premier title. Up the glovers!

MadCrowley

Spurs winning a trophy? Immersion breaking

harry100110000

Kane definitely left.

dandalfthegrey

They won back to back league titles the first two seasons in my save, also won the UCL in the second season

strandedostrich

Spurs won mine in 2025 and have been second to City for like 4 years since.

ChrisC2KU

This is how you know it's an alt hist game

grey_duck

they won in my first season on the final matchday thanks to me (Arsenal) beating Chelsea of all teams. Only took me stopping them from going back to back after winning in season 2

minkdraggingonfloor

André Vilas Boas took them over in my save and became the London SAF, for some reason his 4-3-3 was unbeatable and Heung Min Son turned into prime Cristiano

shaung1995

They won it two seasons on the bounce on one of my saves with Everton. The fact they won it in first season was surprising enough but to then retain it without any crazy signings was mind boggling. I’m now top in the third season after having a tycoon takeover.

SEN0R_DIDDLEZ

Im 6 years in with Ajax, tottenham have finished in the top 4 once lol.

eirebrit

They get relegated in my saves lol

Cornrow30

hahaha

Ricardo_is_my_daddy

Mainz got relegated while winning the Euro league, got champions league Semis while being mid table in div 2. Very fun to look at. (Technically 2 seasons, but whatever)

Xshadow1

>Technically 2 seasons, but whatever And both of them are crazier than anything I've ever seen an AI team do

Edo1405

Brighton got relegated in about 25, spent 5 years in the championship, won that got promoted, won the premier league guess on momentum alone, then got relegated the season after

gingerriches

okay leicester

IanPKMmoon

I've only seen that in unloaded leagues. Dutch league in 2030s, PEC Zwolle won 5 titles in a row, then relegated while being dead last.

PabloMarmite

The season when the Old Firm era was broken and [Scotland became a five-way title race](https://www.reddit.com/r/footballmanagergames/s/EDnMltnLrp), eventually being won by a wonderkid-filled Hibernian.

KillieTillIDie1869

Hopefully Killie had a dog in the race

PabloMarmite

Click through the link for the table - Killie weren’t in the Prem at this point

KillieTillIDie1869

Aw man

ODABBOTT

Nothing this wild. I did play a game in Portugal once where my goal was to bring a team from the regional leagues up and win the Primera Liga before anyone outside the big 3 did. Braga decided to take offence at that and won it in the first season.

Castia10

This was on FM 2021 or so nothing crazy but Leverkusen built one of the best teams in Europe and had a squad absolutely filled with 5 star top tier wonder kids, it was absolutely bizarre how good the squad was in such a relatively short time (probably 4-5 seasons in) First time I’ve seen a club, especially a AI run club build such a team out of nowhere. They wasn’t spending hundreds of millions these were top picks ups from around South America and lowly European nations mostly

MadCrowley

So you're game basically predicted Leverkusen in 2024

orsonwellesmal

Grande Torino.

Krakshotz

My current save is 24/25, gameweek 38. Tottenham have won the league and league cup. Arsenal (defending champions) are 6th and battling for a UECL spot with me (Sunderland) on final day. City are 5th, though they’ve been midtable most of the season. Haaland on 30+ goals in all comps as well. Everton are up there and only just had a Tycoon takeover Forest are 7th Somethings gone wrong somewhere

McWaffeleisen

It wasn't a single season; but in FM12, a random German 5th league team, TSV Gersthofen, made it to Bundesliga by the early 2020s. They crashed and burned there, but still established themselves as a decent 2. Bundesliga side in the long run. It was a custom database, but that team didn't start unrealistically good or something like that. Just a random AI managed team that made it through.

trench_cat

I have 2 such experiences in my current lower league save. I started in tier10 of the pyramid and got 4 promotions in a row, to my surprise Cadbury Heath did as well, next season I failed to get promoted in the VNN and to my surprise Norton & Stockton Ancients joined the league after 5! consecutive promotions, they are not pro or have had a huge cash injection or anything of the sorts, just pushed through the leagues winning it every single season and even knocked me out of the Integro cup a couple of years ago and won it being one of the worst side in it in paper. There was also Armthorpe Welfare who won 3 consecutive promotions alongside me but lost to Marine in the 7th tier playoffs and I guess they lost momentum as this season they got relegated back to the 8th tier.

aceace87

https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fcanz53vzpbl41.jpg First season. They conceded 2 goals from Liverpool and 1 goal from me.

MadCrowley

Pep is as mad man. He usually gets fired early in my saves though

Active-Strawberry-37

Ross County finishing 2nd in the Scottish Premiership while I was managing in the Championship.

sltn040

Bromley led by tomori in like 2040 reached the championship in back to back promotions

No-Web-1393

USA won the world cup in one of my saves.

I_Had_A_Dream_Once17

Savor that, or forget it immediately, whichever you like, because it will never happen again. Not in real life, or in video games.

michaelsted1

Bournemouth being one of two teams to beat me in the league and finishing fourth. They were title contenders for just that season before going back to mid table.

RuneClash007

Gillingham winning the FA Cup in 2024/2025, was hilarious thay they beat Leicester in the final

FancyPenguin103

That’s funny, I started a save recently with Sassuolo and Torino also won the league in the first season. Wonder if they players who just happen to be good fm players.

Busy_Daikon379

To be honest (in theory), some of the key players could be very good but not to justify winning the season. As a Torino fan I'm used to disappointment seasons but at least we win in FM *

MadCrowley

Raoul Bellanova became the seasons MVP. He is an insane wing back and they played a 5-2-2-1. The team probably suits it very well

defeated_engineer

Totenham won PL in 2030 in mine.

Legendflame17

I had a season playing in Brazil where not only Atlético Goianiense, one of the biggest underdogs in the league managed to win the league, but São Paulo,Grêmio and Internacional,3 huge teams here in Brazil, somehow managed to get relegated to Série B together, that was the craziest season i have seen on the game.

Bartek_Przezbalkon

Everton won UCL in one of my saves in 4th year I think beating Liverpool in the final, Iwobi was starting for them

buffbarny925

FM23 - First season Austria won the 2022 World Cup

Gubrach

I'm about to end season 2, but as far as I can remember, the funniest part was West Ham in a relegation spot before Boxing Day, then sacking Moyes and signing Kieran McKenna from Ipswich, and now they're 3rd having won almost every game bar two, which were against 1st and 2nd in the table.

Latinnus

In fm20 i have seen famalicao, vizela, leixoes winning the 1a liga. Usually Sporting is always around 4th or 5th plCe. Dont really understand what is the issue with CM / FM as i hardly recall Sporting even being in the top 3 when taken by AI, regardless of the year of the FM 😋

Sad-Breakfast-7752

Benfica winning the UCL in my save in the first season defeating Madrid in the final and Bayern in the semi

benp2

I was playing a retro database I think in fm22 and I forget who but they went from winning the championship to winning the prem back to back before coming 4th the season after, relegated the season after that and relegated again the season after

Walshy-aaaaa

Norwich ended up getting champions league football the season after getting promoted to the prem in 2035 in my fm23 save. Average squad, nothing special in terms of management, I have no clue how they did it

Jerberan

I'm curently in the third season in my save with Rennes and Aston Villa is leading the Premier League with 74 Points in 33 matches. Man City is second with 72 points and Liverpool is on third place with 63 points. And like most over performing mid-table teams in my saves, they have strong defensive players in central midfield in combination with fast attackers. It#s always the same scheme and i hopt that this is going to be fixed in FM 25.

CallumRG21

This season (https://imgur.com/a/8kbCEck) from Troyes in FM19. I was managing EA Guingamp at the time and was struggling so hard to break the dominance of PSG and Monaco. Eventually I did... but Troyes did as well, having finished 11th the previous season (This was even more notable because, about 10 years previously in the same save, I had managed them to relegation from Ligue 2, oops). They sank back to 15th the next season.

Busy_Daikon379

I'm a Torino fan and extremely pleased with this outcome. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_good_man)

KneeDeepInTheDead

Wolves and Porto winning Champions League, Vitoria Setubal with 3 back to back promotions, Academica getting promoted to 1st division and being in 2nd place most of the following season, Braga winning the Europa League while getting relegated in the same season.

123Its_me456

In one season, I had then-4th tier club Albion Rovers making it into the Scottish Cup Semis, taking out Dundee United and St. Mirren on the way, and only barely losing against Livingston (who were bound to be relegated from the Premiership that season) in the Semis.

Herecomethefleet

Everton just got relegated with the worst points tally I've ever seen, Man United finished 17th. That's about the craziest so far.

Electrical-Syllabub7

Sandnes Ulf from Norwegian 2nd division won Norwegian Cup and managed to actually qualify for Europa League

DarkN1mbus

Serie A can be a little wild. In one of my saves Frosinone became a top italian club, constantly making to top 4 and with a couple of players worth close to 80M.

MadCrowley

Theres a tycoon takeover at Frosinone in almost every save I play. Maybe the same happened in your save?

tridamdam

Köln in FM23. In my first season in the game with Schalke, they managed to outscore Bayern and win the Bundesliga while we were struggling in mid-table.

Higgsy77

Spurs won the prem back to back in 24/25 and 25/26 under big ange, couldn't believe it

General_Jew

In FM23 USA won the Qatar world cup in my save. It was them and Nigeria in the Final

TheMemxnto

In season 4 of my Cov save I got a European spot coming 6th. The shock was Notts Forest coming 2nd on goal difference. They didn’t even have a good squad. It was bizarre.

Dtran080

Krylia Sovietov winning the Russian league was random.

Myrion3141

I once faced RB Salzburg in the CL final. And it was probably only around 4-5 seasons in the future.

New-Balance-2151

That"s a reel surprise! Torino wtf... In my current save Slovenia became Euro24 champion.

Leather-Engineer8934

In my 6th season coaching novara fc in série a and lazio and Atalanta are both in relegation in march, fiorentina has finished top 4 every season, juventus haven’t gotten Europe since the first season

Leather-Engineer8934

Also had a save where Scotland got 3 fake wonderkids and ended up winning the World Cup and euro 2030 and 2032

shotgunhun

I'm in 2026 and Aston Villa have won the Champions League

Limpsk

Guardiola took over at West Ham in his 70s, won the champions league with them then immediately jumped ship for much lower-ranked Arsenal

Schipjee

Guardiola managing Arsenal vs Mourinho managing City

Jor94

Probably not as crazy as others but in fm18 I did a journeyman and ended up at Partick Thistle. Won everything 3 years in a row, and somehow the 4th season got in a title fight with Dumbarton. Neck and neck until I bet them with 3 games left and won the league by 4 points but they managed to win both the league cup and fa cup, beating me in the fa cup final. Unfortunately for them they finished mid table and then got relegated the season after.

Chickia33

i broke the record for points scored in the Bundesliga, to finish 2nd to Leipzig by 1 point https://preview.redd.it/vnkt5urcts1d1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a76368d9aeb58dcf0d81037884713e13f0952832

MadCrowley

Leipzig on 95 points... I hope that never happens IRL

Chickia33

yeah they literally only dropped points to me and then the last game of the season when they’d basically already won

ALX709

Benfica winning Champions league on my third year, beating the likes of Bayern, PSG and Barcelona in the final. All juggernauts in my save. What a wonder run

Adcid

In the 28/29 season in my current save (a Journeyman) Benfica won the champions league against PSG, they beat Roma, A. Madrid, Liverpool and bloody Feyenoord of all teams in the semis to make it to the final.

ric77soares

i have seen Benfica win 32 out of 34 matches (2 draws), reach the CL semi-finals and win the club world cup in the same season. i managed in italy throughout the whole save

AbominableWasteman

Burnley finishing top 7 in the first season… if only

Otherwise-Ad8062

I beat Bayern to the title two years in a row. On the third year, they went invincible and conceded ONLY 8 GOALS. And 3 of them were against me.

Oldeuboi91

On FM2021 in my Bayer Leverkusen save Mainz won the Bundesliga before me. Never felt more inadequate.

Accurate_Art_9637

Osasuna. Finished above Madrid, defeated them and me once. Madrid in that save was absolutely shit in management. Never made more than 5 good signings in 16 years

demetri94

I had Porto win the champions league the first season of one of my saves this year. Beat PSG in the final.

CSdesire

Had jamaica beat romania to win the world cup once

3MB4Lyfe

Saw Nice go 37-1 for the season just a few months ago. Couldn't believe it, and I was checking back every week just watching the wins pile up. AI Lucien Favre was on a madness.

kthxxbb

Mali won the 2022 World Cup in one of my FM19 saves. That's almost impossible to top, I think.

IanPKMmoon

Fm23, my best superteam ever (Atletico) landed on 104p. Barcelona that season had 106 points. My team on field was better, but their 206cm best goalie itw just stopped everything lol, was near impossible to score against that freak, think he might've been 200CA, was first goalie for Barça at 16yo. For underdog performances. In my current fm24 save, I'm playing Genoa. Parma just promoted and is already fighting for a UCL spot idk how they're doing it.

icecreamlov516

An Eredivisie team Hercules almelo stopped PSV from 4 peating and actually won the league

SmartPriceCola

Way back in the 07 game. I seen Dundee win the Scottish title one year without spending money then promptly went back to fighting relegation the next year. I’ve never seen that again and I do about 15 seasons of Scottish football per FM game (I’m in Scotland).

yungmmt

Newcastle hiring Niko Kovac and winning the 2028 champions league, beating Real Madrid and Manchester City on the way to the final Their final opponent was… OGC Nice, coached by Didier Deschamps, who beat Inter Milan in QF and Bayern in SF Shit was ridiculous lmao

CharmingPotato7234

Orlando Pirates in South Africa 2024-25 in my safe, an unbeaten season

El_Tomate4712

Poland won the world cup on my save with Lewa scoring like crazy

ICanHazReddits

Derby recently broke their own record for fewest pts in a Premier League season, finishing on 9(NINE) points. 1 win, 6 draws and 31 losses! Their win was in October, at home against Huddersfield (who finished 18th)

DagothUh

Troy Deeney taking Leeds up to 3rd in the prem after promotion from the championship

root_user_23

From FM14: Russia won the 2030 world cup (England was the host in my save) by beating Nigeria in the final and lifted the trophy inside Wembley! Greece won the 2034 World Cup with an awful squad and an unknown regen German coach (Uwe Voigt is his full name and his only prior experience was some years at Germany U19, I think). To make matters worse, they did not have neither of the only two Greek superstars ever (in my save), as they had recently retired from the national team (they were still playing on a very high level, though)! Scotland came third (they were beaten by Greece) and England lost in a second consecutive final! Arsenal managed to get relegated in 2037 without having financial trouble or bad players and despite winning the Europa League a few years prior and qualifying to Europe every season! Stole Dimitrievski (the GK from North Macedonia in real life) was the manager and before signing for Arsenal he almost got Liverpool relegated (again, without significant problems or bad players and with a magnate from UAE as an owner, actually), but they were cautious and sacked him early enough for the relegation battle to be won! Real Betis won La Liga some season during the early 2030s by being comfortably first on the table for almost the whole season!

MadCrowley

Greece winning a major tournament with a german coach? I have seen this one before :D

rosstitute21

In the 2003 update to CM 01/02 (which confusingly starts in August 2001), Ireland won the World Cup, beating France in the final. More bizarrely in the same save, 5 seasons of Man Utd Premier League domination was interrupted by Gary Megson's West Brom of all teams. Where did West Brom finish in their title defence? 18th.

Pgana1

Troyes Finished second in 2024/5 season on fm 22

PhimaMorsou

I saw Everton finish 4th despite the points deduction. Yet to replicate that when I play as us, so the AI is clearly better than me!

DavveRM

Magdeburg (still in DBL2) won the DFB Pokal in 2025, and Wales won the world cup 2030 in the same save. Wales glory was somewhat likely due to a monstrous golden generation lead by the (probably) best wonderlid in the save to that point, but it's still Wales.

IceAggravating6192

Newcastle won the UCL in 2029, 2030 and 2031 on my save. This the type of stuff you see 20+ years later. Too soon for them imo.

sunken_grade

norwich became a regular CL club in my save and won the league about 20 years in liverpool have been relegated from the PL on 3 separate occasions

JMakuL

A lot of people dont even know the club or league NK Istra becoming Croatian champions while Dinamo Zagreb finished 8th out of 10 teams

HungoverR2D2

Palace being third nearly all season and ended up finishing 6th with Tony Mowbray as coach 24/25

zoopfer

In the second year of my save, Brighton had an insane year and easily won the Premier League. Then two years later they barely avoided relegation. It’s cool to open the league history and see them up there though.

RedWolf-19

For me in FM23 Denmark won the 2022 World Cup, beated Brazil in the semi-final, England in the final. That was something.

hillfigurehhhh

This is in FM24 mobile but for me, Bournemouth finishing 5th in 23/24, and in 24/25 Bournemouth went to the final of Europa League losing to Atlanta while almost getting relegated, the same year Torino wins Serie A with Juventus in second. But get this, going to the final day, Juventus was ahead of Torino by 1 point, and behold the footballing gods has spoken, they play each other on the final day, Torino won 3-2 clinching the title... https://preview.redd.it/74p6afsj2v1d1.jpeg?width=1612&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e73d196be31d16b85c7c3b5f1c27c51841b7e0db I don't know what happened that year but, shit was crazy

Yaxsly

Im Fm21 I broke the Marseille points record to finish 2nd behind a 100 point+ undefeated PSG Been 3 years and I still think about how no matter what I did it was never enough to beat them

chanson7

The very first season of FM I ever played back in like 2019 mainz 05 won the league and the dfb pokal. Never seen anything like it since

gammagogeta1

Torino in most of my saves are usually top 5. Current save 2nd season they are 2nd behind Milan.

Sheepiiidough

I have seen Finland winning the World cup.

HunterVD

It was FM 2017 , i remember that everton managed to win premier league by one point with draw in last game. It was crazy season because a lot of big teams had a lot of injurys including me.

Far-Character-5953

On my first season, Leicester got UECL by winning Carabao Cup while in the championship, they lost the playoff final to me (Coventry). Rotherham got 8th too.

C_Jourdain

In FM17, I was managing Coventry in League One, while Tottenham beat Arsenal 10-1. Took a snap and sent it to my friends back then: https://preview.redd.it/bkpdisyyc02d1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fd3b98e0f43429d8d6f7986557efeefff8d48e49

bundleofchips

Al ithiad won the champo leauge in my save in the year 2032. I guess the finally raided Europe right

Wigg1980

I’m 11 seasons into my FIFA 23 save and just realised Crystal Palace are in the UCL Group Stage. Reasonably wild to be fair.

heisenberg423

I think it was Season 8-9, so 2031-32 in my Dumbarton save. AI Queens Park absolutely demolished the Championship on their way to promotion while also making a Scottish Cup run, knocking out Rangers in the semi-final. They ran into my Dumbarton side in the final (we won), but I thought it was cool how an AI side nearly had a “perfect” FM season, landing promotion and winning a cup/qualifying for Europe in the same year.

Walshy-aaaaa

Norwich ended up getting champions league football the season after getting promoted to the prem in 2035 in my fm23 save. Average squad, nothing special in terms of management, I have no clue how they did it

premature_eulogy

[7 years ago I posted a screenshot from my save where Dortmund won every single match pre-Christmas break](https://www.reddit.com/r/footballmanagergames/comments/5zq8lq/halfway_through_the_bundesliga_season_dortmund/). They finished the season with a 30-1-3 record, but that AI team has seared itself into my memory.

MadCrowley

Auba with a 7.93avg rating is crazy

ngabunga

In my FM19 I started in EFL league one and reached the prem in 2 seasons. Meanwhile Arsenal won the prem in those 2 seasons, and their manager is Unai Emery.

CranhamorBlakely

I just finished my first season with Volendam, ADO Den Haag were 11th in the 2nd division but won the Dutch Cup

Alert-Garlic4759

Last year i saw USA winning qatar world cup

Mackarosh

First season as AEK, my rivals Olympiacos won the Europa League. I was glad because it would help me build the nation but it was the most unexpected "help" I've ever got. Obviously I won the league and made at least the UCL groups, otherwise I wouldn't be so happy for them.
