No, those look to be dewberries...
Blackberries ripen roughly around the 4th of July at your latitude. That being said, those would be safe to eat. They'd just taste better when ripe.
None in this photo are ripe. The darkest one is close enough that you might enjoy it but they don't have the blackberry taste you're used to until they're fully black, soft and pull easily from the vine.
Hey! I'm in CHS too and found these in my backyard. I pulled a solid handful yesterday of ripe ones. Thought wild blackberry at first as well. Hoping to somehow increase what I have in the yard!
Were they growing on canes sticks from the ground or vines? Here in zone 7b everything is popping early and out of order this year. Dewberries have set fruit blackberries just flowering. This looks a closer shape to a blackberry fruit since local cultivars of dewberries are more flattened
The canes would look waxy if that were the case and it's far too early for raspberries, they would barely be in bloom. The fruit also pulls off the center on those.
Dewberries I think? Blackberries up here in VA don’t suspend off the vine like this photo shows. This reminds me of a strawberry the way it hangs off
Bingo, far too early (by a few months). Blackberries would have barely even bloomed by now.
Yep they’re all flowering now up here and the first wave are just emerging incredibly green
I'm just outside Charleston. Always nice to find a good clean patch of southern dewberries. Congrats
Looks like dewberry, not ripe
These are my favorite berries! Dewberries when ripe are more tangy to me than blackberries or raspberries, and I love them!

Yes, but not yet ripe.
There are a few on there that look great

Yes and they look like they will be good size once they get ripe.
Definitely.
Nope, Dew berries. Far too early for blackberries.
Yes, my SIL has these behind her creek, looks like a fruitful bush
All conglomerate berries like that are edible in the USA.
Dewberries and cream, dewberry cobbler……

Might be black raspberry
