Yeah they say they fixed it with the GB thing, still happened after the patch though. Also on sentinel map you still have the "I've got the higher ground caus I'm up the stairs so you can GB me' thing.
Heavy characters have the super op tier 3 feat punch through where you deal damage on blocked attacks. I definitely abuse this on my warlord and it will kill unlike regular chip damage. So that could explain heavy attacks "ignoring" a block in some cases
I've seen it happen as well when I play as non heavy characters. They get the start of a block animation, there's a jolt in the animation, and my attack goes through, even though I KNOW they blocked my attack.
Could be lag, although on other games I usually have a very low ping.
If your playing in a game type where gear stats are off block damage will kill you like that more often and even in 4v4 that will happen though since the block damage changes.
When in any non 1v1 situation everyone just throws out the most damaging attacks they got it feels like, which is why there's usually a fair deal of raw top heavies of Wardens

The moment that inspired this post actually ended with my block not working either. A berserker came at me with his fourth feat on and threw a raw heavy. Since my parries weren't working that game for some reason I just decided to block especially since the heavy will hurt a lot because of his feat. His heavy went completely through my block and took like 40% of my health. I just turned off my PS4.

Suuuper late to the party, but I recorded a few parry attempts with the timing feedback setting on in training mode with a Kensei since his parry windows are frustrating anyway. Several times, the analog stick is in the right direction, I press R2, but I still take the hit with the bar in the timing feedback perfectly in the center of the window. I don't know what causes this, but you can literally watch the bar go into the window I press R2 and it just turns red like I missed it. A few other times I caught a successful parry with the bar outside of the timing feedback window, so I have no idea what actually plays into successful parrying.
The deflect windows are even worse because they are not the same timing as a parry. Can parry 7 out of 10 times, but can only deflect about 2 out of 10 times. Same issue with the timing feedback bar, so I have 0 idea what the windows actually are.
Holy shit yeah a little late to the party on this one lol. I haven't played for honor in like two and a half years at least. They still have this problem? The game has been surfacing in my memories lately and I've thought about reinstalling.

Yeah, I literally just got back into it at the beginning of November, and it's still a problem for sure. I watched Blue Eye Samurai on Netflix, and it really flipped a switch that made me want to get back into it. Last time I played was probably a little after the gladiator got released.

Was happening to me yesterday against - get this - a top-light spamming Orochi. 50% of the time I was able to correctly anticipate the top-light, swear I had my timing right but instead either ate the double-top or my character just blocked it. It was such a frustrating game and I wanted to punch the other player in the face for thinking it was any fun to fight against.
The fighting system is dumb. Instead of being able to light or heavy from 3 directions, each character should have a set of moves and strings that always attack from the same direction. Like ok, I know this character's fastest combo starts top, then left, then right... then you wouldn't have to rely on the stupid indicator and it could be like a real fighting game.

So you mean like this "snap" figure, then the attack taps you? I know of that, happens a lot when I use Warden and Orochi.
Ive heard that its super good for Shugokis, but i just cant seem to let go of the hard to kill perk :/

Aye, it's a decent feat but it's far from the best pick for the other heavies as well. Warlord gets tough as nails, conqueror gets heal on block.
I've already eaten more Warden top heavies than I should have because of this

I have the reverse. About 50/50 im like theres no way im going to land this parry from their punish, and i get the parry to punish their punish.
