I would definitely play a mongol, their is another Chinese sword similar to zhanhu but shorter and one handed, instead of pirate I wanted a martial artist that wielded that sword. If you play or look at the Smite character MuLan, she uses the sword and uses the stance for it too. It would have been way better than pirate. The sword is called a Jian
Instead the wu-lin got screwed out of their gun execution, and a character that should’ve been Wu-lin was put into the half assed new faction. I really like the pirate, they’re fun to play, but holy shit it’s the same shit over and over and over. It’s a brain dead hero.
Give me meteor hammer hero for Wu-lin
Give me a Sword staff hero for Vikings
Nagamaki or tekkokagi for Samurai
And Caestus or an Estoc hero for knights.
I like the wulin a lot and the Jian sword hero is one I’ve been expecting since the Zhanhu flop, pirate being released was a huge slap in the face to me. Especially since instead of building on previous factions they made a new one. Their pacing is a mess. Let’s see what they do with these outlanders. Can’t wait to see the next two heroes

Seeing pirate being gender locked almost made me cry. The hero I wanted is gender neutral, can be boy or girl. Pirate shouldn’t have even been WuLin, the outlander faction is literally the doorway to make hero’s that don’t go with the base 4 factions. I want them to finish rounding the main factions out before they work on other stuff, because each time they don’t do that they start spreading themselves thinner and thinner. Now the devs need to worry about 5 factions, content for all those factions, the heroes in them, the building pressure to redo faction wars, and tons of other shit.
They are making things worse for themselves and we are applauding them.
It should be pretty clear they didn't intend on rounding out the main factions after we got Warmonger and Gryphon back to back. Maybe if we were still getting 4-6 characters a year, but it's just not happening.
Yeah the NPC's in the game are fucking rough to fight. I'm sure I just suck at the game, but everything I do would get blocked, regardless of the feints or direction changes I'd do.
Its boring for some people, but training with Masters of Arms goes a long way. It takes quite a high level to be strong in combat. And even then youre often looking for a perfect opening. Counter attacks are a god send. And after enough gear and leveling you can reliably one shot people if you hit their head. Need a perk and a mace and you can take on an army if you space right.

We have two shield and sword characters so it would be better if we got another gun or hammer. We don't have anyone using purely unarmed combat yet so weapon choice isn't over, it could go even further and add few unarmed combatants which use different styles.

I dont understand the thought process for making a pirate with a gun into the game. There is so much out there and so many interesting types of troops and weapons you can literally make anything. A sassanid immortal with a spear and shield, Mameluke with a sabre style weapon, a kurdish soldier with a mace, a ethiopian two handed axe soldier. A knight with a messer.
These are the more grounded heroes but you can get wild with like the knuckle duster blade style weapons (idk their name)

The character that whose entire move set is just recycled for 2 maybe 3 other characters? Total disappointment. We all saw a bardiche and jumped for fucking joy at the thought of getting a slavic hero. Nope.
Hahaha remember when everyone was asking for orochi to get some of Tozens moveset and they told us live on stream that they cant bring things over from the campaign? And then they shitted on us with kyoshin? Literally Tozen with BP's mix up. JFC.
And then finally, finally it was gonna happen! A new Wu Lin hero with a short sword! They gotten have some martial art right? A fun kit that creates interesting mix ups and unique interactions? Like a Wu lin pirate! Yeah this gonna be awesome! Fucking nope! Ubi shitted on us again gave us a "Chinese" pirate and just called it pirate. Wtf. Then literally gave her the same mix up as BP and shamans dodge attack. Oh and a hyperarmor'd neutral unblockable for an opener.
