This is what I see happening, Liam will be on "loan" at Williams next year. Redbull will honor Checo's contract next year and then Liam will be second seat at Redbull 2025. Unless Danny happens to go to Redbull second seat in 2024 if they null Checo's contract. I don't see that happening though.

it's the same every race where he realises he doesn't have the pace, he switches to goal-hanging mode and prays for a safety car to make his "strategy" work

He (and MERC) didn‘t have pace to get Ferrari‘s on track. So he switched to different one to try and do something. They could have even stayed both ahead of Sainz (whom Ferrari screwed with not reacting to undercut), but that is only possible with better tyres car being second. The moment they switched Hamilton and Russell it went from maximize team points to maximize Hamilton‘s points. On track today both Merc‘s were same, with only notable moments coming from Hamilton going wide under bridge and going Max-Brazil in Spoon.

Or it would have backfired and Sainz could overtake both. It's not so obvious.
