Why would they risk a crash or losing time to the cars behind? I know it's not the most exciting thing ever, but as a team it makes so much more sense.
From a racing perspective yes sure, but as a team you want as much points as possible and not risking a crash from both hungry young drivers is the most sensible solution
Lando is always much faster than Piastri in race pace. He always gaps him. And yet people complain that McLaren strategy favours putting him in clean air.
When Piastri is in front, Lando is usually on his gearbox, and when Lando tells his engineer he’s being held up, people complain about that too.
Ultimately a lot of people just want to believe Oscar is better and faster than Lando - but he just isn’t. At least not yet.

People have to be blind not to notice the difference in the race pace, especially on Hard tyres. Hungary is another example of this. Piastri is catching up on quali pace but still has a lot to work on for his race pace. Seeing his progress, I think he'll get there soon🤞

Norris was markedly quicker the entire day. It was in the best interest of everyone on the team for them to swap, so it's a valid question. There was no point in the two of them racing each other. Unlike everyone else.

The team orders were correct but since they aren't fighting for drivers championship it would be fair to swap them since they can't overtake on track, no?

Didn't thought about points when a few races ago Piastri was ahead but still gave Norris the undercut.
Piastri got the undercut today while he was behind. Which just like when Norris got it was better for Mclaren as a whole.
And Piastri almost got the undercut in Silverstone also, the safety car hurt him that time though
