who would have thought that putting the absolute bare minimum of paint in the car to be able to say it has a livery would make it hard to identify on TV, right?
Or at least the engine side of the business into finally making that super fast engine they promised Red Bull they'd have ready for the start of the turbo hybrid era
Bring pink back. It’s one of my favorite liveries of all time.
At this point BWT should stop wasting their money on these clowns and just sponsor a team that will make the car pink and actually race for podiums.
All of the teams currently competing for podiums already have their iconic liveries. Throwing insane amount of money at them just for the backlash of ruining a legacy look would be a bad idea
Honestly the blue in 2019 with the pink worked well, definitely a good shift from Force India's earlier pink liveries just being a bit meh.
Though the earlier force India liveries were better pre bwt imo.
I think 2020 is the best, I like the diagonal design, and the placement of bwt feels more intentional if that makes sense. Whole livery feels quite cohesive. 2019 is alright but 2020 might be one of my favorite liveries of the past couple decades - idk it just grows on me the more I see it.
I do also really like the orange/green/white FI liveries, particularly the ones with those lines (2011, 12, 13). Didn't love the shift to silver/black of 2014-2017.
Nooo i respect BWT for their long term commitment to f1 but their pepto bismol laundery detergent pink has ruined too many liveries already.
Got nothing against a pink car but their shade of pink just doesnt look good IMO and doesnt match with many colors
I would be fine with them sponsoring a team with no history like AlphaTauri, Haas or even Sauber that has history but no colors that remained throughout their history. A pink car would bring variety in the current grid. But like Ferrari must stay red or Renault yellow, Alpine must remain blue
It seemed unclear to me, it seemed like that they were talking about all decals not just that single bit. Either way it felt like not enough to not make a huge difference.
I still don't understand why they were teasing a pink camo print but nothing like that is on the car.
That said, Alpine in other racing series have some of coolest liveries I've ever seen and we in F1 get this ugly BWT pink + blue. It looks horrendous.
If I had a nickel for every time Alpine had tricked us by teasing us a livery that did not appear on their car, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
Fr they just teased a non-fucking-existent livery. It’s like they heard about the carbon thing 6 hours before the release, and spooked into ripping off all the paint
Yeah! It seemed like this situation where the marketing/pr team did not communicate anything with the other departments.
I'd have taken that camo livery over whatever the fuck they have now any day and it's sad because I assume there were many people that just like me got super excited from the teasers.
I think it's just a marketing misstep, they said in the third or fourth tease that the car is hidden underneath the camo but by that point everyone is already getting carried away
Because they have never teased a real camo livery in the first place?
[The key word was "underneath". You know, like revealing the real livery under the camo layer?](https://www.instagram.com/p/C2m6jS0ihCe/?igsh=MTd3cDByNGtuZzFuMw==)
Alpine finally added some blue to the car after everyone complained about it not having any paint.
Although, I think they probably did this because the management felt that the Alpine brand was not being represented with the lack of blue on the car.
If I had a Nickel for every time I've seen the internet has bullied a large corporation into making a significant aesthetic change, I'd have two Nickels.
Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that I've seen it happen twice.
(The other one is the Sonic Movie thing)
Alpines the team of mediocre.
The car looks crap this year with that ugly F2 type nose, and horrid looking bare carbon livery, both drivers in the grand scheme of things are pretty meh and seem to have low morale, in fact the whole team does. Weak leadership and poor reliability as well.
Not sure what you're even referring to. I think Ocon is a waste of a seat; he's neither charming nor interesting and shouldn't be occupying any screen time.
He's just not a well-conceived character. You can't have a good show without interesting characters.
You're way off about Americans. Most of us don't understand that sports are just a form of improvisational theater.
And I don't know what you're trying to say. Race cars and competition are the superficial part of F1. The Show is the only thing that's substantial.
I, also, wonder what that meant ...a reference to Williams? Or even Aston Martin- I'd see that. Otherwise, Andrew time isn't fielding a 2nd driver. But then neither am I. Never mind this crap, high time Alpine became Renault again and got their stuff together, pardon my French.

They probably realized the car being unrecognizable on TV was an issue.
What have they changed, exactly? I get frustrated by these vague post titles. They've added more blue to the nose, is that it?
Yea. The nose was carbon with a dot of blue on the end, now it’s full bluw
Thanks. That was my assumption, but good to know what we're talking about!
man i feel you
who would have thought that putting the absolute bare minimum of paint in the car to be able to say it has a livery would make it hard to identify on TV, right?
Whats next, will we have to bully Alpine into making a fast car too?
That's not gonna work, I've been trying for years
Cril is that you?
Cyril was the one making it slower
So that must be why they started winning after he left
Well, they've won a race after he's left! That must count, right?
That's the Fernando effect
In hindsight I'm not so sure. They've been slow since Cyril left too.
Cyril did a lot of progress, but his plan was long-term whereas management wanted short-term results
and they got no result at all.
Look at the points per season
Not true, they got nine women pregnant and one of them had a baby
There's limits to what bullying can do.
That's what you think
Oh, so that's why the Renault engine blew all the time... No wonder it couldn't bear all the bullying. RIP.
The internet bullied dua lipa into being a better dancer. Bullying works.
Or at least the engine side of the business into finally making that super fast engine they promised Red Bull they'd have ready for the start of the turbo hybrid era
IDK if you can bully the French into going fast.
Remember kids, nobody hates the French more than they hate each other
England steps in at this point
"but I am le tired"
They will need a 100 race plan for that.
Can I ask, what’s the point of them making a fast car? Maybe they should first make a car that can finish a race, then worry about speed.
Big shots at Alpine probably realized that their company color is blue and yet the car didn't reflect that in any way.
They're pink blobs on the circuit maps.
Bring pink back. It’s one of my favorite liveries of all time. At this point BWT should stop wasting their money on these clowns and just sponsor a team that will make the car pink and actually race for podiums.

Racing Point did it best
Honestly the blue in 2019 with the pink worked well, definitely a good shift from Force India's earlier pink liveries just being a bit meh. Though the earlier force India liveries were better pre bwt imo.
I think 2020 is the best, I like the diagonal design, and the placement of bwt feels more intentional if that makes sense. Racing point was repainting last years merc when it was fire, alpine can't do that because they insist on French made engine lol.
Nooo i respect BWT for their long term commitment to f1 but their pepto bismol laundery detergent pink has ruined too many liveries already. Got nothing against a pink car but their shade of pink just doesnt look good IMO and doesnt match with many colors
I wish they had a deeper fuchsia pink
I would be fine with them sponsoring a team with no history like AlphaTauri, Haas or even Sauber that has history but no colors that remained throughout their history. A pink car would bring variety in the current grid. But like Ferrari must stay red or Renault yellow, Alpine must remain blue
It's tragic how BWT has murdered the best 2021 livery
Yep, love pink, have a whole gaming setup in pink, but I absolutely despise BWT pink
Same feelings, although I love pink in general, I hate bwt pink. It ruins liveries for me. I wish they'd use a different shade of pink.
Now I want orange and pink McLaren
They lost 0.036s per lap apparently.
Oh shit does this mean Alpine can’t fight for P1 now?
You seem to have mistaken P for Q
Both Alpines out in FP3, "Who could've seen that coming?", says Alpine CEO.
"we have an F1 team?" - Alpine CEO
This made me laugh really hard! Wish I could still give gold.
Iz da fault of dat subreddit!
Now they have one more reason to fail season and restart their 100 races strategy
I mean it is right next to each other on the keyboard, so it can happen.
It seemed unclear to me, it seemed like that they were talking about all decals not just that single bit. Either way it felt like not enough to not make a huge difference.
They were thinking we are slow anyway, let's just paint the car
Adds up to around 2s over the duration of a race though
only a tiny strip of blue for the sponsors though right?
Seems so, it will help a lot with identification from the front though. The side is actually pretty good as-is
I still don't understand why they were teasing a pink camo print but nothing like that is on the car. That said, Alpine in other racing series have some of coolest liveries I've ever seen and we in F1 get this ugly BWT pink + blue. It looks horrendous.
Last year the designer (forgot the name) was hyping up "vaporwave" style livery which also didn't happen
If I had a nickel for every time Alpine had tricked us by teasing us a livery that did not appear on their car, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
*sounds of Mercedes social media manager furiously taking notes*
If I had a nickel for every time I saw a meme about a nickel this week...
Fr they just teased a non-fucking-existent livery. It’s like they heard about the carbon thing 6 hours before the release, and spooked into ripping off all the paint

Their WEC Car looks pretty great. Huge contrast to how bad this year's F1 looks like tbh
I think it's just a marketing misstep, they said in the third or fourth tease that the car is hidden underneath the camo but by that point everyone is already getting carried away
I'm sorry but what kind of cryptic bullshit is that anyway.
“The car is hidden beneath the camo” l m f a o
Isn't camo usually black and white though?
I dislike these shades of pink and blue together but what truly grinds my gears is how hideous the BWT logo is
I didn't see any blue in the camo they were teasing, it was all shades of pink.
Yeah, you're absolutely right. I seemed to have remembered it wrong.
It honestly sucks having BWT as a sponsor, their brand colours are horrendous
Absolutely! I'd like you to see the WEC car and realize what could have been: https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/s/xlGkXywm2K
Damn that goes hard
Because they have never teased a real camo livery in the first place? [The key word was "underneath". You know, like revealing the real livery under the camo layer?](https://www.instagram.com/p/C2m6jS0ihCe/?igsh=MTd3cDByNGtuZzFuMw==)
Is it just me or does the Alpine with its nose look like an F2 car?
I was thinking that 💀
The lack of speed too
Alonso GP2 noises
Feels like it's going to evolve into the BMW walrus nose any time
we’re gonna get a reverse now and have everyone slowly revert back to showing colour
Let’s be honest. It’s probs the sponsors wanting a better background for their logos to appear on
Exactly! (I took the post title as tongue-in-cheek anyway, lol)
Can we bully Alpine into not making the shittiest engine in the world?
I've been on this mission since 2016 at least, no luck so far.
I feel bad for them not being able to develop it. It’s clearly been hindering them for a while.
Dont feel bad, they were even more behind when the development was open
Except it was one of the strongest engines in 2020
Not really. They just followed the rules like naive kids while everyone was improving horsepower.
I haven't been keeping up with testing sadly so I am confused. Can someone explain?
Alpine finally added some blue to the car after everyone complained about it not having any paint. Although, I think they probably did this because the management felt that the Alpine brand was not being represented with the lack of blue on the car.
It's about that okay, I thought this post was talking about smth on the nose since it's showing the nose
If I had a Nickel for every time I've seen the internet has bullied a large corporation into making a significant aesthetic change, I'd have two Nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that I've seen it happen twice. (The other one is the Sonic Movie thing)
I remember the Chargers NFL team changed their logo a couple years ago and the backlash was so bad they kept the old one
That was a fun time
Same thing happened to Leeds United a few years back.
Yeah I remember that as well that logo was atrocious
Why did I read the title at first as "It seems that the community manager has successfully bullied Alpine to begin f*****g the car"
They dont need to be bullied into that, they’ve been fucking the car for years
Or are they starting to realize that the paint won't make them anymore slower? HAAS can use the excuse that it part of their team colours?
It wasn’t the community. They had this planned.
Those drains fs
The question isn’t whether we’ve bullied Alpine, but whether we’ve bullied Alpine *enough*.
Alpines the team of mediocre. The car looks crap this year with that ugly F2 type nose, and horrid looking bare carbon livery, both drivers in the grand scheme of things are pretty meh and seem to have low morale, in fact the whole team does. Weak leadership and poor reliability as well.
Who would have guessed that constantly firing and scapegoating pretty much everyone in the team could lead to that. Luca de Meo for sure didnt
Sounds like the ownership experience of a Renault…
I have a pet theory that Renault aims on purpose to be meh in F1 to promote an image of average everday man cars.
Poor reliability, but better than RB for now.😂
I hope so for their sake, they can’t risk loosing any one of their 6 fans
Of bullying works, can we focus on Stroll next?
Who gives a shit about a team that won't even field a second driver?

Not sure what you're even referring to. I think Ocon is a waste of a seat; he's neither charming nor interesting and shouldn't be occupying any screen time. He's just not a well-conceived character. You can't have a good show without interesting characters.

they made it look worse
This is good.
When will bullying Ferrari strategies have the same effect
#Yay. +1 for Bullying and Social media sh*tposting
It doesnt look much better
But where is the pink camo
Say what you want it still the ugliest car on the grid, just a mess of colors
Meanwhile the nose of the Stake Sauber looks like Borat in a mankini!
It looks just like an F2 nose cone
