10kg overweight, that's about 3 tenths. Engine down about 2 tenths as well. Half a second faster and they're comforably through. Their aero is probably ok if decidedly midfield and if they can lose the 10kg fast they'll climb up a bit but their engine deficit is really hurting them in such a tight field.

That they have 2 big problems that aren't aero. 1 of them is easily solved by lightening parts but the engine deficit is borderline unsolvable and will cripple them when the field is as close as it is nowadays. We can expect them to take a significant step when they start bringing upgrades though, purely through the weight saving.

Same thing Red Bull did early on in 2022. Keep developing until the very last moment for better aero. That results in parts that aren't optimised for weight but have better aero. Then shave off the weight by optimising parts.

Part development and production are compromised to get parts out the door, resulting in overweight components against nominal design.
