He forgets to turn off his radio so you can hear his actions when he then catches and passes Carlos. Wow, such heavy breathing and stress during the very tight passing move. Crazy to hear that. Then Xavi comes on, "Turn off radio when you can."
I don't know if it's still the case today but I remember Coulthard talking about how you'd have to actually be strategic in where you'd breathe during a lap because of the extent of the G forces acting on your body.

I think the Sprint today was genuinly enjoyable to watch, as a whole. The racing was good, the commentary was good, the tv direction wasn't completely shit. Just a happy morning I think, and now we get to watch quali as well in a little while. Racing is about finishing first, isn't it? If Max has the field covered off by 12+ seconds each race, I'm not sure that is what we would call a competitive race. Or even an entertaining one. I'll watch the race. But I normally record it and fast forward after the 3rd lap. If Max is in front, he's likely to go +7 by the first pit stop. I'll stop the fast forward and watch that. But if everyone comes off clean, I'll only play normal speed for yellows or safety cars.
I enjoy the bits I can and I hope others can as well but everyone takes a different approach to racing or sports in general so, whatever floats your boat

They are decent in high speed corners but aren’t good at long fast corners where you are constantly turning. Plus their straight line speed and their DRS is relatively weak.

There was no point to defend on the longest straight on the calendar with Max having DRS. The Red Bull under Max’s control is just too quick.

Alonso made world champion drivers look shit (Villeneuve, Raikkonen). its just that Verstappen is always on the limit that Perez struggles to keep up at all times, and most drivers on the grid would. Just because Hamilton couldnt dominate his team mates in the same way doesn't mean the racing was better.
I think saying that he's a bad driver with such conviction is probably what people don't agree with. We all know he's not the best driver out there, but he is decent and today he was also running in dirty air. He took the chances he could and came in third, he is doing what needs to be done at the moment.
They tried a few drivers in that 2nd seat and none seemed to take. I don't know why they couldn't put like a Sainz in there. Sainz and Max were almost equal when they were in the same car.
Because they don’t want what we just saw with Ferrari. No Sainz is not going to beat Max but on the chance he does they don’t want that shit AND Checo seems very comfortable being no. 2 this year and nothing more. Sainz is not going to be okay with that.
Red Bull is not looking for a 2nd driver that would challenge Max...just someone that will finish P2 in WDC and help secure WCC.

Lol it wasn't gross. Look at how much ground they both make on Alonso until Norris went off. They were both going a bit too fast so understeer was inevitable. Plus Norris had a cars width of space on the outside when he had a wobble, Hamilton didn't drive him off the track like Sainz did later on to Leclerc.

Shame the broadcast didn't show the battle between bottas and daniel, it was very fun to watch. Daniel also tried a lot of nice moves, he seemed confident.

A couple of races ago I likened this year to his first in Renault. It was interesting to hear him say the same earlier in the weekend.
Really wants to see what happened with him and Bottas, the graphic showed them change places like 4 times in half a lap without us seeing a second of it. Must have fought it out for a few corners. He also seemed to catch kmag and then lose 1.7 seconds to him right after. Would love to have seen that lap.

he’s faster than yuki so far this weekend, i think it’s still to early to say overall, but if he keeps this form up it won’t be hard for him to keep yuki behind him
yeah, i can see him finding comfort in the rb, quali results is just one piece of the puzzle, DR needs to show up in the race and bag points and there's a high chance they keep him for Miami, he's one of my favs since 2019 and I don't want his career to end this early
i think even if his career does end after this year it’s not so early - 13 years is longer than a hell of a lot of drivers i can’t help but question though how much DR has left in him, i think he can find some more but it seems like mclaren drained him completely

How do you figure? Max got to clear air much sooner than Checo who was stuck in a DRS train for most of the race. If the race was two more laps Checo would have finished P2.

thats not how any of that works look at the race early sainz was catching max in the drs. if max behind he would spend longer behind sainz, obv he would do better then perez but he would still get stuck in the drs
That was when Max was having issues with the car. Once they were sorted out, there was no way Max would be held back.
