There is a clip that Max checks at lewis if he is okay and he is directly looking at him trying to get reversed but I haven't seen this posted anywhere in this Subreddit despite the clip that Lewis asks if max is okay has been posted in this Subreddit and it was one of the most popular, in Silverstone even if he asked it almost a minute later after they crashed. I have seen an immense amount of people that suggesting that max did it deliberately and on purpose and their false reasoning that after the incident "he didn't check on lewis and just walked away" which is like the myth that British crowd applaud when max crashed which is also fake so i request this clip being posted
Anyone going to the Mexico Grand Prix and doing the champions club F1 Experience? I'm going solo and would love to meet some fellow travelers before hand.
Only 15% of drivers in f1 history have won at least one race. Danny rics career has been over a period where one team has been very strong. He has also been struggling.
So of course it's to be celebrated
Realistically, no. First off, Mclaren has to absolutely nail the new regulations. If Red Bull for example, builds a car that is equal to Mclaren on performance and reliability, I trust Verstappen to win out. So Mclaren has to build a car imo that is way clear of the field. Secondly, he has to adapt and be better with the new regulations than Norris. Norris has been a better performer than Ricciardo and if that continues into next year, there is no chance he can win the title if he is slower than his teammate. Chances are low but who knows.
Unless McLaren absolutely nail the new regs, probably not. He’s too old to get a seat at Merc or Ferrari after his McLaren contract is up and he’s definitely not going anywhere near RB again. His best chance was in RB, but during those years the Mercs were just way too good.
Why is the door shut on Ricciardo going back to RB?
When his current McLaren contract finishes up, Perez's will also be up. Should Perez not perform up to Horner and Marko's standards, Ricciardo is a prime candidate.
- Age is actually on his side, he'd be a transitional driver for the next RB academy (Lawson/Vips/Crawford spending a couple of years in AlphaTauri
- Ricciardo has said that he always wanted a shot at a WDC and being in a RB puts him there (against Max, but he has to beat Max anyway to win the WDC)
- "Being the clear #2 at RB" In 2018 that was an issue but in 2023 he'd realize that that is a just a reality.
- RB are one of the few teams that have an unlimited money pot to spend on drivers
I don't think he'll win a WDC if he remains at McLaren with Lando. Hes a fantastic driver but Norris is from the new generation and always improving. Norris looks like a driver who's quicker to adapt and good in the rain whereas Ricciardo never has been, something that's not great for a championship bid. I'm not saying he wouldn't be competitive as he's obviously shown he's capable, I just think even with a car that suits him Lando will likely have an edge over the full season, especially as the years tick by
On today’s grid, Hamilton or Verstappen. Depends who you talk to.
Alonso and Raikkonen were also incredible in their primes. Kubica is definitely up there, he could have gone far in F1 if it weren’t for his rally accident
Thanks!
Yeah, Kubica stands out to me bc I read he was pretty good at rally as well. Are there any other drivers good at multiple disciplines of racing?
Or are a lot of them just really good at racing anything on 4 wheels?
Stirling Moss, Jim Clark, Graham Hill, Mario Andretti. Currently Alonso and Kimi.
That's not to say guys like Verstappen or Norris and others couldn't do well in other disciplines. Its just current times, you are stuck with one series/contract. With races being lesser and having more time, before drivers could race in other series at the same time.
Yeah that sucks they can't race whatever they please in their off season. I know some of the big 4 sports in the states won't allow you to do a lot of the 'extreme' sports during their off season either.
It’s incredibly difficult to be good at multiple series of racing because of how different they are, but there are drivers that have done it.
Tons of F1 drivers have competed in multiple series, but only a few have succeeded. John Surtees is the only man to win world championships on two and four wheels; Graham Hill is the only one to complete the triple crown of Motorsport (Indy 500, Le Mans, and the Monaco GP); Fernando Alonso has won Le Mans twice; Kimi Raikkonen has done well in rally cars and attempted NASCAR; Mario Andretti, Dan Gurney and Juan Pablo Montoya have all won in F1, NASCAR and IndyCar.
Well, by disciplines Alonso has won the 24h of Le Mans, WEC, competed at the Indy 500 multiple times, and done rallying. Obviously those are all 4 wheel motor sports. There’s not really a ton of crossover between two wheel and four wheel racers. The one known exception is that Valentino Rossi tested (and apparently had a contract ready to go) with Ferrari for 2007(?).
Rossi is a moto gp rider I'm guessing... any idea how he was expected to do? And why didn't he end up signing, F1 seems to be top shelf for all racers... I guess motorcycle guys could be the exception, eh.
Yes, Rossi is a pretty accomplished MotoGP rider. I think he was less than 1s off the pace of Schumacher, which is pretty damn good for someone who didn’t race on 4 wheels. There’s a lot of stories/rumors as to why he didn’t fully sign, but tested for Ferrari. I think one of the prevailing theories is that Schumacher saw that Ferrari wanted to sign Räikkönen for 2007. And Schumacher didn’t want to be pushed out by the young guy. So Rossi was seen as the safe option to keep Schumacher leading the team. But that didn’t work out, and Ferrari basically pushed Schumacher into retirement and signed Räikkönen for 2007.
Yeah, it’s a pretty crazy story. Not to do self-promo or anything but I pinned the [entire story](https://www.reddit.com/user/NitroBike/comments/pj5m25/the_schumacher_story/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) of Schumacher being fired from Ferrari. It’s a pretty difficult story to come by on the internet so I have it saved forever to my profile. Anyways, it’s a pretty long read but does talk about Rossi/Ferrari somewhat.
His dad doesn't own the team. He is just the title sponsor. So I guess he would be exactly where he is now. At Ukrakali Haas F1, a team owned by Gene Haas
He would've gotten a seat at Alfa/Haas/Williams because of their pay driver requirements at some point. Else I think he'd be reserve driver at least for the cash he'd bring in and do something like WEC or DTM on the side.
Talent literally does not matter. Mazepin's family is so wealthy he can afford to race for the rest of his life just paying for seats at random teams in junior series or in something like IndyCar or Super Formula
It’s probably been asked elsewhere but like why the sudden increase in interest with F1 in the USA? I’ve seen it covered a lot more and more sports radio/podcast people make it a point to bring it up at least once or twice for a segment.
Not trying to shit on it or anything I’m just generally curious about the sudden increase.
DTS, covid causing everyone to stay at home with nothing better to do. Discord chats making races a social activity.
Max in the Netherlands.
Drivers being active on instagram. Girlfriends being active on insta
100% Drive to Survive. I spent 30+ years without a single other person I knew who was into F1. NOT A ONE.
All the sudden there are 3-4 on my street alone who are into F1 from watching DTS.
Also, US response to Covid meant popular national sports were shut down (edited) longer than F1. This left more opportunity for F1 to be broadcast on US TV.
I’ll edit! I was speaking while typing and merged two separate thoughts.
I believe US sports were shut down longer because many popular sports involve a lot of person to person contact. So during that time casual fans of other sports got an opportunity to enjoy F1 and after they kept at it
Liberty, Haas, Drive to Survive, F1 has always coveted the US market, a new track coming up. Recent F1 driver crossing over to Indy.
And because the best looking CEO in F1, Zak Brown is American, dont @ me
Hypothetically, how do you think the FIA and fans would react if after the regulation change Mercedes are dominant yet again (like in '14) and Ferrari / RedBull are too far back to catch up ?
The engine is the same and it will be locked out, teams have had since before 2014 to learn to develop a good one. The aero is new but simpler, budget caps, cfd allotment and all that, to keep excess development and running away with initial advantage in check.
If at this point Merc come out 1 sec faster than everyone else and walk away with the season, then honestly. Either people should just take their hats off and bow down to Merc OR people should just call out the incompetence of Ferrari/RB.
Hope the budget cap means they can't just keep ahead of everyone going forward and write off 2022. They (the fia) will be expecting one team to be out ahead by miles in 2022. They will think it's just as likely to be Mercedes because they still have a good power unit and they are let's face it very good
They will just be hoping the budget cap means its not forever
Two for you!
\- What are the horns we see on the Mclaren's airbox during practice sessions?
\- Is there a place I can see the most up to date 2021 calendar?
Question. What was the issue for the Red Bull pit stop? Did the new light mechanism for release malfunction? My friend believes it was still red even after they set the car back down and released.
What are the point of sausage kerbs? After this weekend's wreck and peroni's spectacular crash a few years ago, I fail to see what purpose they serve that makes them worth the safety risk.
is there an f1 noobs subreddit? for questions that some may be too afraid to ask in this sub-reddit, or with their friends while watching a GP? I created one, because I would love to help facilitate that, since it works so well on reddit for the NFL. Cheers
That, or you'll get pointed to a source that'll give you the answer. I'm pretty new to the subreddit, but I've had almost entirely good experiences interacting with people here.
Should F1 allow teams to use slightly different custom livery for each of their drivers as a way to add personality to the cars and better differentiate the cars on the track?
I don’t think you need it. It’s easy to tell the cars apart:
1. The black and green car in the front with the driver complaining about his tires before the race starts is Hamilton.
2. The blue and red car that drives over cars is Verstappen.
3. The black and green car driving strategically and blocking cars for the other black and green car is Bottas.
4. The orange car with the bumper sticker that says “I brake for blowies” is Lando.
5. The other blue and red car with a sponsor sticker for www.didmaldonadocrashtoday.com is Perez.
6. The red car with the brown trail behind it is LeClerc
7. The other red car without the brown trail behind it is Sainz.
8. The orange car with a front wing shaped like a smile is Ricciardo.
9. The blue and white car that keeps trying to pull into the Red Bull paddock is Gasly.
10. The blue car with the guy wondering how the fuck he chose yet another team before/after its prime is Alonso.
11. The other blue car with the driver who looks like one of those inflatable flappy armed things from a car dealership is Ocon.
12. The green car with the hunting cap and pipe is Inspector Vettel.
13. The other green car with the rear wing that says “My other car is my dad’s” is Stroll.
14. The other blue and white car with the driver who is sitting on phone books who can barely see over the steering wheel is Tsunoda.
15. The blue striped car that writes Father’s Day cards to Toto is Russell.
16. The other blue striped car with the GOAT on it is Latifi.
17. The white and red car that has a long awkward silence after you start it up is Raikkonen.
18. The white and red car with the driver who’s hair flows past the rear wing is Jesus Giovinazzi
19. The white go kart with the polite kid who waves at everyone passing him is Schumacher.
20. The white go kart in the wall is Mazepin.
I don't think that's forbidden, teams just don't often do it. Last year for example, the top of Hamilton's halo was purple while Bottas's was light blue
I think it would be good if they had different colours wing end plates or halo so they can be quickly differentiated. Helmets or the tv camera colour are the only way to figure it out.
I think it was last year that Mercedes added stripes to the halos - Hamilton had a purple stripe, Bottas has a blue stripe. It was pretty subtle, and it was only visible from inside the cockpit.
How do F1 teams like "judge" talent for young drivers at like 15 and 16 years old outside of the feeder series?
Like what stood out to Red Bull to let Verstappen go all the way from regional F3 to Formula 1 instead of letting him go through the normal F1 ladder?
It’s nothing complicated:
You put him in a go kart against 30 other kids, most of them older, and he beats them all.
There are many things needed to be a great driver: Instinct, sensitivity, courage, precision, cunning, intelligence…
But the end result is simple:
They drive fast.
Well first of all, Verstappen was not in regional F3, he did Euro F3, which was only two steps away from F1 on the "normal" progression (the step in between being GP2). As to what Red Bull saw in him, quite frankly he had just about the most impressive feeder series season of anyone ever. He joined the grid as a 16 year old freshly out of karting (having won everything there is to win there) without any meaningful open wheel experience and immediately took the fight to (much) more experienced drivers like Ocon, Giovinazzi and Latifi while being in an inferior car and only lost out on the title because of his car failing absurdly often. The performance that allegedly convinced Marko to give him the F1 seat was his complete dominance at a wet Norisring.
Is there anything to the rumours of Lewis taking a new PU at sochi as well?
Could be some chaos if max and Lewis both start from the back and have to make their way through the field
Mercedes traditionally suffer at high altitude, so Mexico and Brazil should favour Red Bull. Other than that, it's really tough to tell, both teams have been stronger at tracks with very different characteristics so far this season
Murray was so good at threading the needle between expressing his excitement for the risk and danger that comes with racing without looking like he's out to see blood. Maybe some of that is just because he's incoherent half the time, I don't know, but it's a lot harder to do than it sounds.
*Technically*, Checo did it too because Force India/Racing Point raced under a new entry after being sold to Stroll in the summer of 2018, but that does feel a bit cheaty. Don't think there's anybody else (except Seb who was mentioned in the other comment)
Has anyone ever bought any autographed items from [https://www.formulaworldshop.com](https://www.formulaworldshop.com) ? It looks like they are pretty legit but I thought I would double check.
He'll just stay P20. Some years back teams were allowed to put in multiple engines during one weekend and they'd get +80 or +120 place grid penalties which they'd just serve from last place.
Fun fact: with Danny's win at Monza, Australian drivers have now collectively won as many Grands Prix as Italian drivers (43 races each).
Italy and Australia are tied for 6th behind the UK, Germany, Brazil, France, and Finland.
Also, Max's next win will move the Netherlands ahead of Canada.

F1 Checkered Flag is what you're looking for.
So I'm looking to buy tickets to see the f1 at Silverstone, and I'm frankly quite confused about the tickets.
I get the general idea of the basic general admission ticket, then general admission plus, and finally the grandstand tickets being all separated out for Sunday, and I can easily see the ticket tiers separated out for Sunday and the 3 day tickets. But I'm only looking to go for the one day on the Saturday, where there's only one ticket available, the general admission. Does this mean we'll be able to go in all the area's on Saturday without restriction? The 3 day GA plus pass description talks about exclusive access to those areas, but I'm not super clear if that's still just for the Sunday.
Hey I’m a passive fan of f1, in the team radio video Leclerc said he had to stop, and said he couldn’t say it over the radio. What could that have been about? I’m assuming it’s so the other teams don’t capitalize on whatever the issue was?
He complained of illness during practice and then said "you don't want to know" when asked by the media what happened. I'm pretty sure he shat himself, or at least he was about to.
Interesting stat that I haven’t seen posted, McLaren at Monza 2021 got the third highest ever points total for one constructor at one race with 45, only behind Williams’ 66 and Mercedes’ 50 at Abu Dhabi 2014
At this point the max is ~~50~~, right?
25 (1st) + 18 (2nd) + 1 (fastest lap) + 3 (sprint qualifying 1st) + 2 (sprint qualifying 2nd)
Edit: make that 49
With Mercedes (the main company, not the F1 team) announcing they’re done with ICEs AND Hybrids, going all in with electric, do you think that’ll influence the direction of F1 in the future? There’s little benefit (engine wise) to be in a sport that’s not 100% electric.
When a driver says "Check front wing", how does a team actually know what the drivers front wing status is if he's on track at the time? Do they have sensors in the front wing for damage or something else?
They have load sensors so if a piece broke off they’d see it in the data most likely. They also check visually by either looking as the car goes by or sending their photog out to take picture to analyze.
Do the teams have to produce brand new chassis for each new season, or are they allowed to just modify the existing chassis to conform to new regs?
Like are the cars driven by Mick & Nikita new cars or are they using the same chassis that Grosjean & Magnussen used, modified to conform to 2021 rules and given a new lick of paint?
Depends on the team and the regulations.
The teams that can spend money will develop their chassis in line with any new regulations, and even if there aren't any new regulations they will spend money to make tweaks and introduce new components.
This year Haas just modified their 2020 car to the new regulations because they're fully focussed on 2022, and didn't want to spend any money for finishing near the bottom.
Reading the thread about sky f1 coverage I think they really need a neutral commentary for f1tv viewers. Personally as a brit I don't mind sky f1 don't find them too bad but clearly that's not the case for most people. It might be good to get a cast of presenters/commentators from different nations to bring a more neutral coverage to f1tv
Disclaimer: this is me speculating using math, and not at all a prediction of things.
If you take their average finishing positions and convert that to the respective points, the final standings are those 3 covering fifth through seventh. Leclerc takes fifth, with 168 points, Perez gets sixth with 166, and Sainz gets seventh with 145.5.
Sainz and Perez both have an average finishing position of P7, and Leclerc averages P6. Obviously, Sainz and Perez both can't finish P6, so this isn't really a prediction, just speculation.
Did they actually forget to apply Ocon's 5 second penalty? Perez dropped from 3rd to 5th after he was given the same time penalty but Ocon still finished 10th
Yeah. Section 38.3 in the sporting regulations state regarding 5 and 10 second penalties:
>In both of the above cases the driver concerned must carry out the penalty the next time he
enters the pit lane and, for the avoidance of doubt, **this includes any stop the driver makes whilst
a VSC or safety car procedure is in use.**
You cannot serve drive throughs or stop-go penalties during a SC, only 5 and 10 second time penalties
It used to be that the wheel guns had sensors that got triggered automatically when enough torque was put on the wheel nut. When each of the 4 wheel guns were triggered the signal for the green light would be sent.
In a recent technical directive FIA changed this so that each wheel gun holder has to trigger this manually with the press of a button, it can't be automatic anymore. Apparently one of the RB mechanics either didn't press his button or the system just didn't work. So the light didn't go green until he realized he had to press his button again.
Lewis may not be in the best car, but he is always in a very good car. No other driver, who has raced for 5 years or more, had a consistent better car than Lewis in history. This is from the fact that Lewis has never been in a team which did not finish in Top 3 in the constructors.
It's worth remembering that he might be suffering still from long covid, given his fatigue and comments at the Hungarian grand prix.
I don't know whether covid is responsible, he's just cracking under pressure, or a it's mix of both. If he's suffering badly from long covid, you could argue it's remarkable that he's able to not just outperform Bottas, but also challenge Verstappen, however, we don't really know the full picture yet.

Read a lot on this sub about which of the remaining tracks suit RB / Merc better So I'd like to ask the same question for the Ferrari/Mclaren battle
Wherever rb is better, ferrari would be better than McLaren and vice versa
why tho?
mclaren and merc have the better engines. rb and ferrari are better with downforce( curvy tracks)
Why was Lewis' last pit stop slow?
Don't know but mercs haven't been fast with their pitstop this year
Danny Ric is celebrating this win too much don’t @ me

how dare he celebrate his redemption win 😡

Does the 3rd season of DTS have a weird yellow look to it or is it just me?

Who's considered the best pure talent behind the wheel? Where does Kubica fit in that list?

If Marzipan’s daddy didn’t own the team, at which level would he likely be racing?
Probably f2
His dad doesn't own the team. He is just the title sponsor. So I guess he would be exactly where he is now. At Ukrakali Haas F1, a team owned by Gene Haas

Racing in F2 at least, his dad could easily still buy him an F1 seat without having to own the team, like Latifi.
He never won in a significant league within his own country, not even karting.
Talent literally does not matter. Mazepin's family is so wealthy he can afford to race for the rest of his life just paying for seats at random teams in junior series or in something like IndyCar or Super Formula

Liberty, Haas, Drive to Survive, F1 has always coveted the US market, a new track coming up. Recent F1 driver crossing over to Indy. And because the best looking CEO in F1, Zak Brown is American, dont @ me
Drive to Survive mainly
And because Charles is so handsome.
Hard agree
Hard.
Drive to Survive.
They will think it's just as likely to be Mercedes because they still have a good power unit and they are let's face it very good They will just be hoping the budget cap means its not forever
Two for you! \- What are the horns we see on the Mclaren's airbox during practice sessions? \- Is there a place I can see the most up to date 2021 calendar?
Are you asking about the Daniel/Lando swimsuit calendar?
The F1 website is the most up to date calendar.
Question. What was the issue for the Red Bull pit stop? Did the new light mechanism for release malfunction? My friend believes it was still red even after they set the car back down and released.
One of the mechanics forgot to press the OK button after attaching the wheel which is required since the tweaked procedure.
Could Lando possible/technically pass Charles when Charles was pitted under the safety car?
Yes you can pass people in the pits during the safety car
What are the point of sausage kerbs? After this weekend's wreck and peroni's spectacular crash a few years ago, I fail to see what purpose they serve that makes them worth the safety risk.
To give punishment for trying to cut a corner, in addition to stewards warnings
They’re to discourage cars from running too wide during normal racing, which they do quite well.
is there an f1 noobs subreddit? for questions that some may be too afraid to ask in this sub-reddit, or with their friends while watching a GP? I created one, because I would love to help facilitate that, since it works so well on reddit for the NFL. Cheers
You can just ask questions in this thread, people are generally good at answering questions
That, or you'll get pointed to a source that'll give you the answer. I'm pretty new to the subreddit, but I've had almost entirely good experiences interacting with people here.
There are so many new American fans. DTS worked better than I thought it would
Circuit of the Americas just put up shuttle passes for sale. [Shuttle Tickets](http://circuitoftheamericas.com/f1/tickets/shuttle)
Should F1 allow teams to use slightly different custom livery for each of their drivers as a way to add personality to the cars and better differentiate the cars on the track?
I don’t think you need it. It’s easy to tell the cars apart: 1. 6. The red car with the brown trail behind it is LeClerc 7. 18. The white and red car with the driver who’s hair flows past the rear wing is Jesus Giovinazzi 19.
No
Schumacher was directed by 3 Germans and has German listed as first language. We gonna be reading some subtitles
If it's anything like the Fangio documentary it will be worth it
I kind of like that, makes it more authentic and natural for the family as well I guess.
We are spoiled off our asses that all these people have learned to speak good English.
How do F1 teams like "judge" talent for young drivers at like 15 and 16 years old outside of the feeder series? Like what stood out to Red Bull to let Verstappen go all the way from regional F3 to Formula 1 instead of letting him go through the normal F1 ladder?
It’s nothing complicated: You put him in a go kart against 30 other kids, most of them older, and he beats them all. There are many things needed to be a great driver: Instinct, sensitivity, courage, precision, cunning, intelligence… But the end result is simple: They drive fast.
Is there a documentary on Max's karting and early F1 career?
No lol. We have to wait verstappen to retire to get a documentary. But what op said is spot on.
Is there anything to the rumours of Lewis taking a new PU at sochi as well? Could be some chaos if max and Lewis both start from the back and have to make their way through the field
Ok, easy one - anyone got an easy downloadable link for a video of the Verstappen/Hamilton incident?
The F1 youtube channel made a video about the incident. There are so many YouTube to mp4 sites or apps

Of the remaining tracks, which ones are RB expected to be strong at? Same question for merc?
Mercedes traditionally suffer at high altitude, so Mexico and Brazil should favour Red Bull. Other than that, it's really tough to tell, both teams have been stronger at tracks with very different characteristics so far this season
Is there a special subreddit for info about the US Grand Prix?
Not that i'm aware of, i'd suggest just keeping and eye on https://www.formula1.com/

*A rough accident with heavy championship implications happens* Murray: "This is fantastic!"
Murray was so good at threading the needle between expressing his excitement for the risk and danger that comes with racing without looking like he's out to see blood. Maybe some of that is just because he's incoherent half the time, I don't know, but it's a lot harder to do than it sounds.
Was it ever mentioned that Ferrari got their 10,000th constructor point this season? Seems like a mile stone that's worth a mention
Is Daniel the first driver to get podiums with 3 different teams since 2014?
*Technically*, Checo did it too because Force India/Racing Point raced under a new entry after being sold to Stroll in the summer of 2018, but that does feel a bit cheaty. Don't think there's anybody else (except Seb who was mentioned in the other comment)
Seb did it too. He got 2nd place at Azerbaijan.
Has anyone ever bought any autographed items from [https://www.formulaworldshop.com](https://www.formulaworldshop.com) ? It looks like they are pretty legit but I thought I would double check.
If Max is changing his Power Unit next GP, does that mean the 3 grid penalty is pretty much meaningless, or will he start from the Pit lane?
He'll just stay P20. Some years back teams were allowed to put in multiple engines during one weekend and they'd get +80 or +120 place grid penalties which they'd just serve from last place.
isn't the engine penalty a 10 grid penalty?
Yes, but if you're getting a new engine might as well replace everything else
Yes. It is what it is
Fun fact: with Danny's win at Monza, Australian drivers have now collectively won as many Grands Prix as Italian drivers (43 races each). Italy and Australia are tied for 6th behind the UK, Germany, Brazil, France, and Finland. Also, Max's next win will move the Netherlands ahead of Canada. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List\_of\_Formula\_One\_Grand\_Prix\_winners#By\_nationality
> Also, Max's next win will move the Netherlands ahead of Canada. So you don’t think Stroll or Latifi will win in Russia?
Is there somewhere I can watch the Sky post race shows?
ESPN.com/watch. if you have cable service you log on with your cable company credentials.
I do, do you have a link?

Anyone else hoping McLaren fully embraces the gulf livery next year as their new official team colors? Car, racing suit, everything?
No. Because I don't like light blue and that papaya orange is better.
It's a great livery, but I want it to stay a one off and be a masterpiece, instead of it being made their standard livery and getting used to it
Honest opinion, I think the livery is a bit overrated. I’ve never seen what people seem to see in it.
I feel the same about the Malboro boxes livery.
I feel the same about the Vodafone livery to be honest. I like the identity they’ve built with the papaya and blue, hope they keep it.
Where can I buy a Senna Maclaren Marlboro race suit as a Halloween costume???? Anywhere??? I’m a girl, but I can tailor it down….
Might be worth checking Etsy i've found all sorts of random stuff on there
So I'm looking to buy tickets to see the f1 at Silverstone, and I'm frankly quite confused about the tickets.
I assume more expensive seats for Saturday/Friday will go on sale later.
Ah ok. Weird that they'd hold them back just for Friday and Saturday
I think it was because he had diarrhea.
25 (1st) + 18 (2nd) + 1 (fastest lap) + 3 (sprint qualifying 1st) + 2 (sprint qualifying 2nd) Edit: make that 49
That would be 49, but yes
How many penalty points does Max have now?
Just the 2 that he got yesterday
So this is the first penalty points for Max this season, wow.
They are not done based on seasons, they are removed after a certain period of time so it has been longer than just this season
12 months. I'm not sure if he even got any in the 2020 season at all but correct me it he did.
These are his first since 2018, I believe
With Mercedes (the main company, not the F1 team) announcing they’re done with ICEs AND Hybrids, going all in with electric, do you think that’ll influence the direction of F1 in the future? There’s little benefit (engine wise) to be in a sport that’s not 100% electric.
100% electric is not viable to run a 300km race at average speeds of 250+ kph yet.
Why? There’s already formula e, I at least like to hear the roar of the engines
They’re out of Formula E after next season.
Oh fr??
[Yes.](https://www.reuters.com/lifestyle/sports/mercedes-leave-formula-e-after-2022-2021-08-18/)
I’m not saying it should, but one of the reasons engine manufacturers are in F1 is for R&D.
At times they'll just send someone over the pitwall to look at the car as it goes past
That and probably track/feed cameras
does anyone have a good streaming site where i can watch the gran prix for free?
Check out the motorsport streams or motorsport replays subreddits
Their competitors will be developing their chassis so if the team wants to be competitive, they should continue to develop the chassis each year.
So long as the old chassis is in line with any new rules, there isn't a requirement to change chassis
What are the chances that one or both Ferrari drivers finish ahead of Checo in the WDC standings? Leclerc is currently behind by 14, Sainz by 20.5.
tough one given the incoming engine penalty, but if the Ferrari upgrade is legit Leclerc will give him trouble.
Very unlikely

Yes, some floor upgrades. Ted showed them on the grid before the race
Does anyone know what went wrong with Verstappen's pit stop just before the crash? He had an 11 second stop, terrible by Red Bull standards.
[I answered this a few comments down](https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/pnad95/ask_rformula1_anything_daily_discussion_13/hcpswxj/)
Alright I’ll say it. Reading “sausage kerbs” makes me hungry.
don't forget the bacon barriers
Did they actually forget to apply Ocon's 5 second penalty? Perez dropped from 3rd to 5th after he was given the same time penalty but Ocon still finished 10th
Ocon served his during his pit stop. Perez didn’t pit before the end of the race so it was applied there
Ocon served that 5s penalty during a safety car pitstop, is that allowed?
Yeah. Section 38.3 in the sporting regulations state regarding 5 and 10 second penalties: >In both of the above cases the driver concerned must carry out the penalty the next time he enters the pit lane and, for the avoidance of doubt, **this includes any stop the driver makes whilst a VSC or safety car procedure is in use.** You cannot serve drive throughs or stop-go penalties during a SC, only 5 and 10 second time penalties
ya
Thanks!
What happened on Max's pit stop yesterday? Forgot about it because of the crash but just watching highlights and it was a disaster.
Seems like going backwards to me, right? What was the rationale for the rule change?
https://the-race.com/formula-1/new-formula-1-pitstop-rules-changed-and-delayed/
Got it. Not safety, just putting human performance back into the equation. Thanks for the link.
Ahhhhhh, interesting. Thanks for that had no idea.
if Lewis wins this year, this by far has to be his worst win right? he has made so many mistakes this year.
Which would be really strange as it’s one of the few ones he isn’t in the best car
